This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

This is a nice and sturdy product. However it comes in two pieces and the lower two stairs are connected to the top set up steps by the carpet. The carpet attaches to the steps with Velcro strips. The Velcro strips don't hold the weight of the animals going up and down the steps and they didn't stay attached very long. Once the Velcro comes off, the bottom steps slide around because there is nothing to keep the carpet in place to keep the bottom steps sturdy. I kept the product for almost 30 days and am returning them because my dogs won't use any of the steps that are slanted. They won't use the first step or top step at all. I called the company to send them back and it is costing me $23.00 to return the item. It can't be returned to Wal-mart. The steps are very nice otherwise.Kathleen

If you used these in the living room you wouldn't need to apologize for its looks. If someone objects to how these stairs look send them packing and hug your pet. This review is written 6 months after purchase. It’s very stable and holding up like a charm. I’ve stood on the stairs and main part; it held my weight (130 lbs) and wasn’t wobbly. It was extremely easy to put together. Plan on an hour give or take. Personally I didn’t like the stair pads that were included. They’re scratchy and slide a little bit on the stairs. Instead I bought two bath mats with rubber backs. One for the stairs and one for the main sleeping part. This keeps it secure when she runs up and down. If you’re worried about your dog being scared of it, don’t be. Mine hated it at first and all it took was a week or so of yummy treats to encourage her. Now she sleeps up there all day while I wfh. I recommend this product, but with the bath mat modification for safety.Lucy

I had been looking and researching for something for my two dogs that are 11 years in age and having trouble getting on and off our bed. I knew stairs wasn't an option so I got one of these wood bedside ramps and I absolutely love it. I like the ribbed carpet that covers it and that makes my dogs feel more secure when using it. I like how it is angled to run the length of my bed and having a tall bed isn't an issue since it has a height of 25 inches. It was very easy to assemble only took me a few minutes and all hardware for assembly was included. It is very easy to keep clean and I can easily move it into our living room during the day so my dogs can have access to the couch if needed. The weight limit is 120 lbs so I dont worry about it tipping over when my dogs are running up and down. The only thing is on wood floors, it will slide as in our living room, but we use a blanket underneath it and this sovled the problem. As long as it helps my dogs and gives them the ability to continue living a easy life, it is well worth it. I recommend this to any pet lover whom has a dog that is getting older, having trouble jumping on and off a couch or bed. Best purchase I've made.becky90

The doggy step is a replacement for one that was getting to soft for my small dog to use any more. The deep brick red upholstery fabric is beautiful . The foam step is sturdy and firm. Our bed is 30 inches tall so we bought the 5 step stairs and our 6 lb. puppy took too it easily. Its a bit steep coming down but hes getting used to it quickly. Hopefully, this will save us considerably more in Veternarian fees for his bad back than it cost to purchase. Sturdy and easy to put together. My puppies loved chewing the bottom step. They did a lot of damage so if you have chewers you will want to add a step protector or do something proactive. I also used my rechargeable Dyson to vacuum, don’t. The material is not designed for strong suction. It will stay looking great if you use a hand broom to sweep. I just purchased two more, we have four little dogs. It is very bad for small dogs to jump off furniture. We were told by our vet that it will cause arthritis in their joints so these steps are worth every penny.Ixoye
I really like it for my little girl, a 5 1/2 lb YorkiePoo. She can zip up to the bed in a flash, that is great for this older mom to not have to get out of bed to lift her up when she simply must get up! She often remembers she left a chew bone on the floor in the living room and she really, really needs to go back to get it for bed! My only complaint is the degree of slant is much too short for her to go back down. She cannot get her feet to the next step going down before she is tumbling down head first, because the next steps are steep with a narrow portion of the next step down not giving enough room for the back of her body to get on. I hope I am making sense, she is afraid after several tumbles all the way down. It is worrisome because to get down, she has to make a big leap off the bed. It is a big jump for a little one to make, I constantly worry that she will fracture something. That is my one and only complaint, I do like the stairs, I would buy it again, hoping one day we might find that problem resolved. This step is a little steep like some other reviewers said. The fit of the foam is a little tight for the top part which deforms the top step a bit, so it is not a flat surface like shown in the picture.
