It was the very first thing that I had noticed. As soon as you open it, it has a very good scent. It smells very good and fresh. I almost wanted to use it on my hair. On the bottle it states that this shampoo was tested on humans before it was tested on any animals. The shampoo is a Sensitive Skin Formula for both dogs and cats. The shampoo is also very thick, rich and it has a great lather. Most shampoo's are very watery. I really like that this one is thick and the smell lasts on my doggie. I gave him a bath 3-days ago and he still smells like the shampoo. This is the longest that he has ever gone smelling fresh with a shampoo used at home. I recently was looking for a good shampoo for my dog and settled on the John Paul Pet Oatmeal Shampoo. This shampoo is for both dogs and cats. It is a 16 ounce bottle, the scent I got was the [oatmeal. I really like these shampoos are tested on humans first! Not on our cute furry friends! This shampoo has a nice subtle smell which fades nicely after a few days and keeps your furry friend soft and clean. I found that it definitely keeps their coat soft and doesn't dry out their skin. If your dog is suffering from chronic skin allergies or infections this will not cure that! It is only good for soft fur and good smelling, clean pets! Take your pet to your vet regularly for skincare maintenance. This shampoo is pretty good so far and I would definitely recommend it to others!Athena

I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. She had hair falling out, was rubbed raw, swollen, itchy, scabby… I used this with a combo of fly/gnat spray every night after brushing and it was magically healed in a week. I thought the vet would have to give her steroids. She still has skin and hair to heal but from my experience I his stuff is amazing! I will always have a bottle of Banixx in my house now. I have a Great Dane mix that has severe skin sensitivities. She was developing yeast infections on her skin and nothing would work to give her relief. Her hair kept falling out. I could see a difference with Banixx over night and her coat is finally almost full. I also have a boxer and pekingese who often have ear issues and Banixx works for that too. This definately killed all the fleas on my dog right away. I have a bichon poo and so he has long fluffy fur. This left his fur so soft. The soap itself is very watery and lots just goes down the drain. However, it did work up a good lather unlike what some reviews have said. Bad news is, it does not repel fleas from my experience. Fleas still jump on him and stay. So, I sprayed my yard and house. As well as get him an all natural flea collar repellent. I would much rather use this wash that a Capstar. We purchased this shampoo, as our Rottweiler was very itchy at night. Prior to buying this, I asked how long would this shampoo work? The shampoo works immediately. Essentially it kills any live fleas on the dog, however, this shampoo is not made to continue fighting fleas days later. You need to invest in getting your dog on a flea treatment program to combat ongoing flea issues. This works! I was using an all natural shampoo but my poor puppy needed more help. Shes too young for a flea medication so I used this once a week and in between used the natural flea shampoo. Fleas fell off in sink. I gain a sense of satisfaction when I wash them down the drain. But you need to keep it lathered on pet for a few minutes at least before rinsing off. I am not someone who takes my dogs health lightly. I try to use natural products as much as possible. We had a tick outbreak and everything I tried did not work. I bought these drops for all the dogs. Put it on. Took about 3 days to completely soak into the coat but ticks have been unable to attach which is great. I had heard a lot of positive things about this product. I found the most disappointing part to be the consistency. The spray comes out so thin and runny that it just drips right off the wound. It does not stick to the would creating a barrier like it says it would. I have another product that is more of a water-based gel and it goes on and stays there to create a barrier and really soak into the wound. I bought this ointment because it sounded so effective in the ad, and just in case… well, the just in case came real soon. My mare developed a bad sore from some kind of bite. I used this ointment a couple of times and voila! Sore was gone. But the true test came after she had colic surgery. I used this ointment on her incision, and real soon, you couldn’t even see where she'd been cut. I have also used it on those hard to heal "summer sores" she gets around her pasterns. I had a rooster with a really bad staph infection on his knees. He was limping, was very lethargic, and wasn't chasing after the hens because he was in a lot of pain. After soaking his legs in an epsom salt bath and removing the plugs, I put this on his legs. In addition to using the Blu-Kote, I sprayed Vetericyn on his legs every other day, and also gave him a Rooster Booster vitamin supplement to give his immune system a boost. For a full week, I had him isolated in our chicken ICU (ie; our bathroom covered in paper towels for easy cleaning and sterilization) and he was walking normally and chasing the hens around the run. I used to work as an assistant in a veterinary clinic and this helped save me and my rooster from what easily would have been a 300 dollar vet bill. Bought this recently to manage infection in my dog's ears. We used KetoSeb +PS flush in the past, but that has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Not only does this spray repel and kill, the quality of the sprayer head and the mist pattern is the best! The only spray we've used that even came close to effectiveness was Feibings 44 but their sprayers are junk and it costs much more. The oil base of this spray helps it last a solid 8 hours of turnout. None of ours have had adverse skin reactions to this one, we've had issues with several other sprays in the past. The Pyranha Wipe N Spray gets the job done. When I bring my boy in from the pasture to the barn, as he stands in the cross-ties I can tell within half a minute how the flies are that day. When he fidgets and stamps in the aisle, this tells me to spray him – stat! Once I treat his legs and belly, he relaxes right away and we can go about the business of getting him ready to ride. I purchased a quart of this product to try as I have with other products looking for something that works. We have a rescue of 55 horses and need something that lasts at least long enough for the blacksmith to trim their feet. I sprayed this on and the flies left and didn't come back. I came across Sergeants Hot spot medication and decided to try it. You will need to wash your pet and nearly shave the area and apply this medication several times, but it does work. No more raw/bald spots and I know my little dog is much happier. Quality of Ingredients It did worry me at first about my dog licking the medication off, but it did not seam to harm her so I am assuming that the ingredients are safe for external use on your pet. I do not know the long term effect. I can only trust the company which makes this product is trustworthy. Side Effects I have not noticed in adverse side effects of this medication. No longer do you need two pairs of hands, trying to hold down your pet, get the scissors and hold the bandage, all while trying to get the bandage on the right spot. this simply wraps around the position and holds in place as if magically, and then when you are ready you cut the bandage off, all while it holds in position. then it stays in position until you take it off, and your pet doesn't nibble at it because they obviously don't like the taste… pure genius!Di C

Finally a cohesive bandage that the dogs don't chew off! Our dog just sniffed it a couple of times and then took no notice of his wound at all. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary
