Both of my dogs, two different breeds, had negative side effects. One immediately lost use of her legs and was disoriented for a few hours. She wasn’t herself again until the next day. The other one gradually became extremely itchy, which drove her crazy. We had to give her Benadryl and hold her tightly for about an hour before she relaxed enough to sleep.Breeder1

This vaccine was very convenient and cost worthy. You have to rehydrate the vaccine before use but that was fairly easy to do. It was very easy to give the vaccine to my dog. You have to keep the vaccine cold before use so be aware of that when tranporting the vaccine from the store to home. Would recommend this to anyone.Suehawk

This vaccine is as described. Everything you need to administer one dose is included with good instructions. We vaccinated 5 puppies (very easy) and one adult dog (not so easy). With a larger dog have a helper to keep the dog from backing away from the prick of the needle. Only down side was the cost of the overnight shipping, which is a function of any vaccine, so did not subtract any stars from the review rating.Carl

My only complaint with buying dog immunizations from tractor supply company, is that they do not automatically give you an ice pack when you purchase a vaccine. Two years ago I purchased 10, 6 in 1 vaccines for a litter of German Shepherd puppies. I wasn't aware they needed to stay on ice. Multiple dogs died of parvo due to this. So I feel like tractor supply company should train their employees to automatically give people ice packs when they purchase the vaccines.Dartysgirl

The shots I ordered got here on time and never got warm. But I never got to use them cuz my puppies came down with a cough. Then a few days later they had parvo. I couldn’t give them the shot cuz they where already sick. But I have one pup left and he’s going to go stay in the hospital as of today.LIBBY T

Last year my husband and I gave our 3 adult dogs the Spectra 9. They hadn't gotten the 9-way yet so we had to give the booster 30 days later. This was our first time giving shots. No problem after watching videos online and I called Durvet to confirm need for booster. Our dogs are generally jumpy, but this was quick & easy maybe because they were less nervous with us. They are now due for the vaccine and since they've already gotten the 9-way last time they will only need one shot this time. Rememer, if you are increasing/changing dosing it may need a booster. Best is to call Durvet and ask. The Spectra 9 saved us time & $$ going to vet. If you have a puppy you may want vet to handle it because of parvo.3 Crazy Dogs

Easy to use. 4 of the 5 shots I bought were great. I noticed a air pressure thing in the bottles but I figured out how to work with it and get the vaccine liquid all out. The only issue I had really was on the 5th shot the needle was lose and I didn't notice. It popped off after it was in my dog's skin from the pressure of the liquid. All the liquid poured out and I had to pull the needle tip out of my dog. She didn't care much but I'll have to get her a new shot to get her up to date, but her puppies all got thier shots. A warning in the instructions to tighten the tip would be nice. I never thought to check them.Tara L

I didn't know what to expect since I have never vaccinated my own pet before. I didn't know if this was one dose or several, so I wrote customer service. They replied very quickly, and it turns out this is a single dose and comes with the syringe. It arrived overnight and was cold and ready to use when it arrived. Vaccination kits are so much simpler and cost effective for high-anxiety dogs at home rather than paying the several times higher cost at a vet. I love having the option to update my dogs vaccines without a traumatic vet visit. Spectra has plenty of support online for anyone who is new to giving their dogs shots. I advise making sure you’re comfortable with the instructions before purchasing, as a vet will not administer the purchased vaccine for you due to liability concerns in storage between here and when you take it to the vet.Alexandrah

I was very surprised with how well it worked. My cats nose cleared up quite nicely. I think the taste wasn't so good for her though. Maybe you can figure a way to give it a flavor cat's like. Also, you should make it so we can administer it easier. I had to use a syringe to be able to manage giving it to her. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. She stopped eating and was losing weight. I put drops of this on her food twice a day and she seems to tolerate it. I cannot dose her directly into her mouth, being a cat once was enough and she wriggles free when I try to dose her. She is not cured but is much better and her quality of life is much improved. The product is basically as it is described. My puppy is a little rambunctious, so she wouldn't stop pulling them around and trying to eat the grass off. She is 4 months old and very energetic. She was initially trained on potty pads, but we were looking for a segue into training her to go outside. It didn't really work for us. I know nothing about dog training, but I would recommend starting a puppy on them day 1. Good product though. I'll be looking for alternative uses.crishep_7

I ordered a LARGE for my PUGGLE and he barely can fit on it. Definitely not even close to true to size. And since i've started using this the scent of urine has been obnoxious and potent and i clean it daily with pet lysol spray and hot water. Honestly id rather let my dog pee on the floors and clean it up daily rather than use this "indoor restroom". Extremely dissatisfied.Lady J

This is a purchase that I can conclude as a lesson learnt. I purchased this product because it was smaller than my other pet unit which allowed it for portability when traveling. The turf itself is okay quality, easy to clean and drains correctly. However, the middle draining tray is not designed at all to work at all. The urine just collects on top of the drain tray because the holes and bumps aren't in a functional area and it barely drains to the lower tray. It is made from a texture that soaks up the urine instead of allowing it to flow off and threw, therefore it collects oder, collects urine that won't wash/scrub off, it can't be cleaned properly and all that waste causes the material to break down. When I say break down, I mean in ever sense. It starts to break off in pieces. Every time I clean the product, more peices fall off and it gets smaller and smaller. Basically, this product does not work. I learned that I should stick with what works and not take chances of cheaper off brand products. Even though the size of my other potty unit is less portable, it actually works! (If it's okay to say, I only trust the AKC Official Potty Patch, which is superior in every way to this product.)HeathersLasVegas

I know the other reviewer was not happy with the dosage but I like to start my puppies off early with vaccines at around 5-6 weeks. If you are going to vaccinate older puppies or adults I recommend you buy the Nobivac Intra-Trac 3 which has the full 1 ml dosage you are looking for. I use this vaccine in combination with Nobivac DPv at 5-6 weeks of age and then the Nobivac DAPPv at 8-9 weeks of age and it has always worked well for me.ÂÂbrightonspringers

The vaccine is Great, we had trouble with other brands, but never a problem with Vanguard Plus 5. The problem is with KV Supply. They have a good price, but it took almost 3 weeks and 9 phone calls to get our order shipped. After reading other reviews, it appears that many have had the same problem. If you need your vaccines right away, look elsewhere, if you don't mind waiting and calling over and over, then save $15 bucks by ordering from KV.Robert

I appreciated the quick response to my question about the expiration date on the vaccine. It would not expire for 10 months giving me plenty of time to use it. I have never had such a difficult time reaching an agent and receiving my order (with any company). I spent nearly 6 hours on the phone in a week and a half trying to get information about why my order wasn't shipping yet and getting Petco connected to my vet office for approval. The first time I called, I spent 45 minutes waiting for an agent to pick up, only to end up speaking with a woman who kept changing her answers for the same question and clearly didn't know what was going on. I spent over 30 minutes trying to get her to understand that I don't want to risk the order getting cancelled, and that my vet didn't receive an authorization fax yet. Turns out, it's because they sent the authorization request to my vet under the name of the person I was shipping the vaccines to, not my name, the account holder and person paying for the vaccines (makes no sense!). I asked if they could follow up with my vet via phone if the next fax didn't go through, and she went back and forth on that too, including telling me that my vet needs to call them to give approval (which she also contradicted minutes later), to which I explained to her that they are running a business and can't spend 45 minutes waiting for someone to pick up. Finally, I asked for a supervisor, who was much more helpful, but realized that there is no order number until it ships, making it difficult to even find the order in the first place. The total amount of time I spent that day on the phone was over 2.5 hours. After waiting awhile and knowing my vet had sent in a fax to authorize the purchase (Petco never followed up with them via phone before that like they said they would), I called again, and the agent said that the pharmacy received the authorization and was processing the order, so it should be shipped in the next couple of days. Progress! So I thought… After seeing the pending charge on my credit card, suddenly it was gone the other day. As a result, I called again to see what was going on, fearing that my order was cancelled for some reason. I spent 2.5 hours waiting for an agent to pick up yesterday, only to find out yesterday that the reason the order hadn't shipped yet was due to low inventory. Why wouldn't there be some kind of notification sent out so I knew that?? That same night, I received an email saying my order had shipped, which is great, but was not consistent with the information I received earlier in the day! I will never order another pharmacy item from Petco again. The hassle was far beyond anything I have ever experienced with a company when purchasing supplies. No one seems to know what's going on there. To spend nearly 6 hours on the phone to make sure the order doesn't get cancelled or slip through the cracks is beyond ridiculous. The vaccine is fine. The problem is with the fact they only supply one needle. By the time you poke through both vials it's VERY dull. The first time I tried to administer this was a fail because the needle literally wouldn't go in. I poked my poor baby so hard he screamed in pain.

I bought some spare veterinary needles on Amazon. Make sure to get lure lock needles or buy spare 2 to 3 ml syringes. Only lure lock needles with fit on the syringe it comes with. I bought 23g needles but 25 would probably work too. Our second try the needle went in like butter and my cat is far less traumatized for itHeather Lynn

I have a pup that is a large breed, he looks like I been feeding him steak and potatoes cause he's so dang big. He is ALL puppy though. Chews on everything loves running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Been trying to train him to chill with me, yeah, right. He wants to play. And because he wants to play, he wants to run every stinkin where. Decided, for my sanity as well as his safety, I'd get this thing. Put the flags out, set it on a low static charge, and it didn't take long before he figured it out. You DO have to WORK a dog with this. It's not just a plug it up and watch their hair shoot up when they get popped. Walked him around the perimeter for 7 days, he sees and sniffs the flags. After that, I let him run around, and he got popped maybe 3 times, and figured it out. Now he's pretty dang happy, and I can let him rip around with zoomies while I work in the yard. I have a 2 yr old LARGE French Mastiff that weighs 180ish! I bought with the (red in color) “stubborn” collar. We previously installed a wired underground fence. (Which I have to mention took 2 FULL DAYS TO INSTALL AND READY TO USE!!) My Bo would realize he was close to the boundary, take a step or two back then take a run right through it, with no second thought!!! We watched him do this several times. I guess he was thinking, well this is going to hurt but only for a few short seconds. Idk?? But it did NOT phase him one bit! I had talked to 4 or 5 people that had this system, so reluctantly I decided to give it a try. I thought to myself well if it doesn’t work I will simply return it, no harm no foul. My boyfriend had it installed and collar on Bo in 30 mins flat. We walked ole hard-headed Bo around maybe 4 times to show him the boundaries. Once he heard the beeping, he kept walking then he felt the shock 1 time and that must have been enough because he never ventured close again! It has been about 2 months of use and I would give it 100 STARS IF IT WAS AN OPTION! We live in a subdivision where houses are fairly close. I was ultimately worried that the zone would lead into the neighboring yard. (which was the #1 thing we are trying to prevent) And although it may, Bo doesn’t even attempt to go that far. I believe he now understands to stay in his own yard! Living in a subdivision, many people take walks and Bo just sits and watches them now!! Matter of fact, just to see, we have sent him outside WITHOUT the collar and ironically enough HE STAYS IN OUR YARD!! The ONLY complaint I have is the small clear piece on the collar broke off the first time I went to adjust the strength of the shock. So far it hasn’t effected anything so fingers crossed on that! Just an FYI, we set ours on a level 3 to begin with and my boyfriend was ready to give up, so I told him to have some patience and we just kept adjusting the level on the collar and we ended up discovering for Bo he needed to be set on a #6. Again, I repeat he weighs 180 lbs, and the Mastiff bread is KNOWN for their stubbornness. I would suggest starting at the lowest level for a smaller dog PLEASE! The test results that we got were a great guide for us! We found out that our dog had sensitivities to white rice, salmon, rosemary oil, and more. Since then we have been able to figure out the best food for him while keeping his itching to a minimum. Test was super easy to conduct. Customer service was superb. Their lab has several accreditation’s that help me feel more confident in the accuracy of the tests. My pup came up with 21 allergies, all mild but one. We removed all the food allergies from her diet. Since then, she has stopped having reverse sneezes and these gross hacking coughs she used to have every day.
