The Medium length is just a little too long for my dog but I have a hard time finding collars that fit him. It looks great on him so I will keep it. I'll probably get one for my cat too. Love it.Happy in Oregon

The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I feel this is really helping the bond with my dog and therefore training is improved.MountainGSD

I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. The LCD screen is super nice to see stimulation level at night or when I don't have my glasses with me. Have bought two collars for two separate uses the 1900S and YS600 both are working perfectly for their intended purposes, the 1900S I love the way the remote allows greater control so the action can be more closly aligned with the action you want to correct without the harassment of searching for the controller and the button, better for me and better for the dog.Michael F.

This my 2nd Dogtra collar setup, and this one feels far bette in quality. The collar does sit a little tighter on the dog's neck, so I go one notch loser than normal. Remote feels a lot better than past one. Smaller tighter feel, and cleaner touch effect.swingboy01

This is a great product. We have done a lot of training for our dogs and swear by the e collar. The double set is perfect if you have two dogs as you only need one remote. There are different settings so they can be on different levels at the same time.lindsay.s

We like to walk our dogs off leash when possible, so these collars are great for controlling both dogs with one remote. It took some getting used to how to adjust the stimulation levels for each dog, and we found that just leaving the stimulation unlocked and adjusting manually is the easiest (rather than using the pre-set levels).Joshua M.

If you use this properly, it is a great training tool. I use it on my 13 pound pomeranian, and he absolutley went to rock start training status with the mini educator. I think the biggest thing for me was that I was educated first on how to use it. I worked with a professional and certfied dog trainer first to ensure I was using this device effectively. I typically use this between a setting of 6-10, which I can not feel when place directly and firmly on my own neck. I typically can't feel anything until it hits a 14. It is NOT used to inflict pain, but a stimulation in order to get the desired response from the dog. I also use it in conjunction wiht positve reinforcement with treats. I can now walk my little dude through the city, with no leash and he stays right by my side. I rarely have to use the stimulation. While it is not often that I walk him without a leash, this gives me the freedom to do so. It gives both myself and my dog more confidence in training and obedience.latsirk

I was real unsure about using any electronic collar for training, however, our trainer reassured us and provides this product to her clients. We we allowed to feel the stimulation that is needed for my rowdy pittie and it is barely a tickle, but somehow it works. I've been using this unit on my own for several days now and love it. I have not had to go above 11, which I held up to my own neck. It's a very slight stimulation that somehow gets her attention and is working wonderfully. Generally i keep it between 7and 9 which i can't feel at all. I believe with training in proper use, meaning it is used for training and not punishment, the mini educator is an excellent tool.Terrijo226

Bought this last fall for upland hunting and general training for my GSP. Worked amazing. I had it in sub zero temps in the dakotas pheasant hunting and got it soaking wet duck hunting, functioned flawlessly. I very seldom have to shock him now, he responds to the vibrate function. I bought this after researching for several months. I have a buy once cry once mentality and am glad I paid a little extra. I love the digital reading so I know exactly what level of stimulation I am giving him. I actually tried it out on myself before I put it on my dog. I really couldn't feel anything until I got to level 20. My dog started acknowledging it at level 30, and that is where it has stayed. I haven't ever needed any more than that. Two friends have since bought this same ecollar and are extremely happy.RDiddy

Range is good, I do not like the settings for the shock control are not able to be locked! You can set it on setting 30 and put transmitter in pocket. When you remove it from pocket it maybe on 50! You also have to turn transmitter on and off! Other units do not use power unless control buttons are pressed!Jim

This product was exactly as described. The length of the two collars are long enough to be worn on a smaller or a larger dog. I have two boxers and have plenty of collar length so I feel that they would fit a very large dog. The control works well and is easy to manipulate. I can easily use the vibrate and shock buttons. The only "oops" thing that could happen is hitting the control shut off and shock button at the same time. The control shut off button is on one side of the unit and the shock buttons are on the opposite side. So when I am holding the control unit in one hand to shut it off, I have to be careful not to push the shock button in response to the pressure I am putting on the shut off button. Therefore I remove the collars before I shut the unit off. I am very happy with this product.boxer mum

With having multiple dogs it works great you are able to add to the system and even use multiple remotes. I wish the button configurations had more options for what buttons did what.Brian

I purchased an orange one and a black one. The orange one is fine and works great. The black one is clearly a refurbished piece of garbage. It was nice being able to confirm that because I purchased two (a burden that should not be in any consumer with only one dog). The beeping (during noise only function) is at a significantly lower decimal than the orange one. AND…the stimulation is much weaker. They will not send me a new item. I am only allowed to send the defective one back to the retailer for my money back. Buyer beware.Rob152

I have used the collar several times and it does the job for me. The distance indicated on the receiver can be off as much as forty yards at times but the closer I move to my dog the more accurate the distance.Pointer0919

It is not user friendly. The icons for the dog and your location are too small and the contrast on the screen makes it hard to see the little icons in sunny conditions. The collar that came in the box is not bright green as it shows on the box. It is a medium green, harder to see on the dog than the bright green I thought I was getting. This is my 3rd Dogtra collar and the first to have issues. After a couple training sessions and first hunt of the season the collar will not turn on. I will return to Dogtra but will not have it when I leave for MI grouse hunt this week. Glad I kept old collar for a backup.LABMAN56

I've tried several of these collars but my main issue has always been that they would need batteries every few days and the batteries were really expensive. This one is rechargeable – both the collar and the remote. I also love that it has the vibration feature so I can warn my dog before I actually have to "shock" her. So far since we've had it, she's only been shocked twice. She is a completely changed dog. We went from a dog who jumped up on me when I came in the house, barked at every person walking by and chased the cats incessantly to a very well behaved dog who now does none of those things. We rarely ever even have to use the stimulation. The product seems very sturdy and the remote is very colorful and bigger than most others so it never gets lost. It has a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck but that is somewhat awkward for me. I think that would be very useful when bringing her out in the public which is our next adventure.MichiganDogLover

The e collar is not a cure all for behavioral issues get you are experiencing with your pet. The e collar is a tool for YOU to educate yourself about and then implement in to your dog’s training routine. Where do you start? Good question. Not only do they offer virtual training sessions if you are out of the area she offers exemplary feedback and support at the beginning of your relationship with her and throughout the life of your dog. There are many videos on YouTube that are extremely helpful. Most helpful concepts: learn and teach place command (this will change your life and I’m not exaggerating), making yourself he leader through your dog’s eyes, and what a balanced dog’s life can look like. I almost had to relinquish my dog because he never turned off, was child aggressive, and I learned that I had to change how I ran my ship. It’s a life changer. Please don’t forget to wash your dog’s neck and collar after water time and ROTATE frequently. Also make sure that the collar is fitted properly. Not to tight but it too loose. I have been using these collars for several years now and going to buy second set since my dog family has grown. I also have the SPT 2422 system so 4 collars right now in all. Fantastic all in one collar. I love the fact I didn’t have to buy a beeper and stimulation unit separately. I have a small dog, a French Brittany, and thought lower levels of stimulation might be too much as the range is only 1 to 16. But the lower level ranges are fine. Never had to go up past level 5. I’ve had the unit a little over three months. Service was great. Because of the small neck size, and the placement of the stimulation unit and the beeper, it was impossible for me to just put new holes in the collar to tighten it up. I sent it back and they moved them closer together to permit additional holes for my dogs neck size. At no cost. Compared to other collars, for what this offers, it is a great price. It also has the button on top so it is possible to have the transmitter in one hand and still hold a shotgun and fire.Dobbin

I bought this collar because I lost my controller for my tri tronics g3 exp in the field on a Montana hunt. I was happy with my old system but didn't wan't to buy garmin after they changed the product and didn't take care of their customers. I am happy I went with D.T. and I like this system better. The beeper system is what makes this collar better. I really like using the beeper to locate my dog in thick cover. I also like the fact that the controller is light and orange so I have a better chance of finding it if for some reason I misplace it. The downfall of the system is it doesn't have a rechargeable battery in the controller and the collar needs to be more adjustable for a smaller neck size.vomtsc

I bought this collar two years ago to help train my deaf Australian cattle dog. I have been very pleased with its performance and durability. The dog has worn it almost every day, swimming most summer days, and have had no issues or malfunctions with it. I keep expecting the battery to stop working on the collar but is still lasting all day on a charge. Over all I am very happy with this collar and will defiantly be using D.T. I really like the walk, distance and step tracking. It does a better job than my phone at showing where we've walked! It improves over time as new features are added, and the battery is lasting longer than it did when I first got it. Some training is necessary, so the pup knows what to do if it goes off. I won this collar set (included add on collar) at a Pheasants Forever banquet in 2013 and have been using it ever since without any issues! I hunt my dogs 60+ days a year and have yet to have an issue with either the collars or transmitter other than needing to replace one of the collar straps due to being sprayed by a skunk! 🙂 Would highly recommend this set for anyone looking for the functionality and ease of controlling the beeper from the remote and seeking a reliable & quality built set.uhansen6

I have owned other brand collars with a beeper system but this one stands out. I got this one to try with my GWP and couldn't be happier. It's so simple to use which is what my wife's main complaint was about the other brand. You can change levels, change beeper modes all without having to take your eye off what your dog within just a few uses. The battery last forever it seems like. I have forgotten to charge it the night before a hunt and thought I would be in a bind but not with this one. I would recommend to anyone who uses a beeper. There are no one and off tones which I have had on my other collars which can cause confusion to your dog. The range is great as well.JFH

The best Bark collar I have seen ever. I repair tech products and can see quality in this device. However, my dog completely ignores it. My dog is an English Shepherd breed, with strong herding instincts that completely override the noise and the shocks. Sorry guys. I am sure other dogs may comply. We adopted a dog who is a nervous guy and not food motivated. He would bark at people walking by our house and wouldn’t come when he was called. I used this collar to train him and only had to use the static stimulation twice on the lowest setting and now just use the tone. Four months ago we picked up a 3 year old yellow lab at a shelter near Denver. The dog is lovable, has had some hunting experience, but was WILD when we got him. It was necessary to keep him tethered at all times, or he was GONE for 20 minutes pursuing some scent in the nearby forest (we back up to public land). I purchased this device in the hopes I could control him. To my surprise I discovered he must have had some time with a similar device. He instantly responded to the Tone/Vibration mode. When he would start to take off, one tap on that mode made him instantly come back. Only if he chased a deer on hikes did I have to "tingle" him a little. He would immediately drop the chase. Now I can take a hike with him in the forest, without a leash, & he stays right with me, if wearing the collar.mstar5

I bought the sport dog 425x for my lab a few months ago & loved it but it recently fell off him while we were walking on a trail and I was never able to find it. For the money it costs, I don’t think it should fall off that easily. I then bought the 825x, but I’m not sure I recommend this collar for extremely active dogs.esport dog collar
