The dog came in a brown cardboard box that says puppy surprise on the outside. It's just wrapped in a plastic bag, and kind of feels like I'm gifting a used toy. Oh my this classic gray pound puppy is absolutely adorable! It comes in a box that has a super cute design on it and inside the box there is the gray puppy, a sticker sheet, a name tag and a adoption certificate. The puppy is a beautiful gray color and has a nice bright red collar on. He has a big nose and sweet eyes. His ears are long and floppy and he is so soft and cuddly. This stuffed animal is great!! It's just like the original one from the way back to my childhood. It comes in the same little crate like the original did with the pictures of the puppies on the sides. It has the large paw print on top and a heart shape in the back corner. The puppy is the same super soft material that make you want to rub their head and they have the sweet soulful eyes with the big round nose to match their fur. This little guy is going to be easy to love. He is soft and huggable, and he looks at you with big soulful eyes. It would be hard to look in those eyes and not respond with a cuddle. He comes with adoption papers and only wants to be hugged and held. He is part of a collection and you may want to adopt all of the pups. His litter mates come in other colors, colors that you would see in real litters. Today his name is Edward, but that may change as I get to know him better. Edward came with a collar and a tag attached on which I can write his name. He can be hand washed, if it becomes necessary, and then reshaped to the huggable form. I’ve been using this toy with my toddler for a while now. The toy looks like bingo. It does walk and talk. I was honestly impressed with the way bingo walked when I rubbed his head. It totally scared my toddler but she got use to it and warmed up to it pretty fast. The quality is pretty good. I prefer toys that require some sort of interaction rather than those items that seem do everything while the child watches. This walking puppy does his own stuff but still requires interaction from the operator. What’s more is how he provokes our kiddo’s imagination. She talks and treats the toy as if it was real. Thus far, it seems to be well-built and can handle being dragged when the child wants to go faster than the puppy walks. It is soft and adorable, just like a real puppy! This is a really cute puppy and a really cute idea but I do think it needs a longer leash attached to it because the puppy can't take more than a few steps before the child has to take steps just to keep up with it. I like how it has only two buttons which makes it very simple for a small young child but the button that makes it walk didn't always work on ours. Sometimes you had to push it 2 or 3 times before it would start to walk, but the button that makes it bark and wag its tail works every time and it was so adorable. If it was just a little more realistic I might have considered trading my (real) puppy in for it LOL. At least I don't have to feed this one or take It outside to potty and clean up after its messes. I really do like this puppy and I hope that it comes in more color variations so that kids can pick whichever puppy they like the best instead of having only one to choose from. The kids really liked it but my real puppy was unsure what to make of it. I think it should also come with some kind of brush or comb so that kids can practice grooming the animal as well. That may give them a little something to do when the parents are tired of hearing the barking, yapping and tail wagging. All in all I do recommend this puppy for young children. I have a 2 year old, 4 year old, and 5 1/2 year old. They all love this furry puppy friend. Even the 2 year old can make the buttons work. He's tough enough to handle their play so far. He's soft. And he's a decent size although not large. However, there are two concerns. 1) He is attached to the controller by a thin plastic leash. When the kids fight over him there is a tendency for one kid to pull the controller and the other the dog. So far he has not come apart and I stop them doing this as soon as it starts. But I wonder how many times that could happen before something comes apart and he can no longer be used. 2) We curves to the right quite a bit when he walks. He does not walk in a straight line but veers to the right. This makes it inconvenient to follow after him. I don't know if this is intended, for him to make a large roughly 5 foot circle, or if ours is defective. I'd rather him go in a straight line. Other than that, he's a decent toy and the kids love him. He isn't super loud, but his bark can get annoying and is easily heard, but that's much like any other kid toy that they play with non-stop.Amy

I told my daughter that the PS on Cassies dog caller meant Penelope S** I know it meant puppy surprise but this really added a personal bonus for my daughter. She is in absolute love with Cassie and all of her puppies. Watching her open up Cassie to see her puppies was a delight. Her face expressions and joy was so special. My daughter is four- and I had to get this for her!! As I had one growing up as a child … And I loved mine! Wish I still had it! I was fortunate enough to have 5 puppies as a child … And secretly hoped my daughter would get the same! She opened it on Christmas with all of our family – and she immediately got 3 puppies – she reached in and pulled one more!! And I screeched with excitement bc she got 4… And then she reached in again and pulled out a 5th!! Smaller, tiny one … Which I learned is the runt!! So cute!! Just Play did an amazing job redesigning/revamping the new Puppy Surprise for the 2015 toy season. The new puppies have more detail and are much better quality. I also enjoyed the improved new fur on the mom. The barking puppy makes the entire toy bark even when it's still in the mom! My only complaint is that I wish the other 2 Puppy Surprise (Caramel and Crystal) were also available for purchase as I am a huge collector.Amanda

I told my daughter that the PS on Cassies dog caller meant Penelope S** I know it meant puppy surprise but this really added a personal bonus for my daughter. She is in absolute love with Cassie and all of her puppies. Watching her open up Cassie to see her puppies was a delight. Her face expressions and joy was so special. She has been carrying them around for days now and has named all of the puppies. Conner, Ruby, Joyce and Pluto are all very happy babies. Although Conner keeps getting into alot of trouble. This toy is bringing hours of love and play into our home. My daughter said these puppies are her favorite and the only thing that could be better is a real puppy.
