I prefer toys that require some sort of interaction rather than those items that seem do everything while the child watches. This walking puppy does his own stuff but still requires interaction from the operator. What’s more is how he provokes our kiddo’s imagination. She talks and treats the toy as if it was real. Thus far, it seems to be well-built and can handle being dragged when the child wants to go faster than the puppy walks. It is soft and adorable, just like a real puppy! This is a really cute puppy and a really cute idea but I do think it needs a longer leash attached to it because the puppy can't take more than a few steps before the child has to take steps just to keep up with it. I like how it has only two buttons which makes it very simple for a small young child but the button that makes it walk didn't always work on ours. Sometimes you had to push it 2 or 3 times before it would start to walk, but the button that makes it bark and wag its tail works every time and it was so adorable. If it was just a little more realistic I might have considered trading my (real) puppy in for it LOL. At least I don't have to feed this one or take It outside to potty and clean up after its messes. I really do like this puppy and I hope that it comes in more color variations so that kids can pick whichever puppy they like the best instead of having only one to choose from. The kids really liked it but my real puppy was unsure what to make of it. I think it should also come with some kind of brush or comb so that kids can practice grooming the animal as well. I have a 2 year old, 4 year old, and 5 1/2 year old. They all love this furry puppy friend. Even the 2 year old can make the buttons work. He's tough enough to handle their play so far. He's soft. And he's a decent size although not large. However, there are two concerns. 1) He is attached to the controller by a thin plastic leash. When the kids fight over him there is a tendency for one kid to pull the controller and the other the dog. So far he has not come apart and I stop them doing this as soon as it starts. But I wonder how many times that could happen before something comes apart and he can no longer be used. 2) We curves to the right quite a bit when he walks. He does not walk in a straight line but veers to the right. This makes it inconvenient to follow after him. I don't know if this is intended, for him to make a large roughly 5 foot circle, or if ours is defective. I'd rather him go in a straight line. Other than that, he's a decent toy and the kids love him. He isn't super loud, but his bark can get annoying and is easily heard, but that's much like any other kid toy that they play with non-stop.Amy

This toy seemed like a fun Christmas gift for my daughter. The dog worked okay for a week and then a leg busted so the dog couldn't stay up. We returned the dog and got a replacement. I bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. We followed all of the directions and the puppy started to punch out of the box but then it just stopped. After waiting several minutes after all movementand noises stopped, my daughter just decided to take it out herself. It's cute, but doesn't do as much as I thought. My kids are 3 and 4 years old and this puppy did not get played with very much after the initial new toy excitement phase. The leash was easy for both of them to pull out and click back in and was long enough for them to actually use to push this puppy. I had to help put the belt with the treat, toy and water bowl holder on frequently for them as it was not easy for them to do alone. I thought it was neat that the water spoon was interactive and that you could pet it's head but nothing else reacted to it. I felt like it was stuck in the original demo mode and as you walk it this one just constantly asks for a walk, water or to pat my head. They push it a few feet and it asks the same question again. The water and toy buttons were large and easy for them to press and was a welcomed break from the songs and constantly repeated instructions, but they asked the same questions as well. I did like that after a few minutes it would say "time for a snooze" and automatically shut off.Nicolec
The dog is cute, I really thought it’d be a hit. The excitement of this wore off quickly though. My little one hasn’t played with it in days and we’ve only had it for 2 weeks. To be honest though, I don’t mind. The songs that this dog has, seem to have been written with absolutely no thought. There’s one song that ends with walkie walkie walk walk walk… or something to this effect. It’s like they couldn’t figure out what to fill in here and just gave up. The songs in general seem to all have been written with the same amount of care… which feels like none. This being said, the dog is well made. It seems like it would hold up to lots of play. I have a three year old and an 18 month old who absolutely love this dog. It has a ton of different songs which I love. When the leash is on the dog, it has a cute song about walking the dog which my kiddos love to hear. I do wish the leash stayed in better, because it tends to get dislodged easily and I have to help my kiddos put it back in. I also wish it was easier to push the dog as we have carpet in our apartment. My LO’s do get a little frustrated with how difficult it is to push the dog, but the still love to play with it. The toys that come with it such as the dog bone and water bowl my kids don’t really utilize that much. They tend to only play with the dog and the leash. Overall my kid seems to love it and are playing with consistently even after 1.5 months…so this is a win in my book.Mama91

This cute little Poodle is adorable it has an attached leash! The leash has two buttons one to wag the dogs tail! The other button is to walk the dog! You can also push the wag tail button to stop it from barking! My 4 year old loves it! It's also very soft! Seems built well also! My daughter has been playing with it non stop! Great idea for a pet! My son who is 1 and my daughter whom is 7, fight over this toy when it's available. She hides it from him and of course when he plays with it I have to supervise. I love the bright color and the soft coat. The size is pretty decent, but the cord is short so it would be for a young child, but my big girl still loves it. It replicates the look if a retractable leash and the buttons actually make the dog walk or wag it's tail. It barks when walking and pants when it's wagging it's tail. Just like a real dog. I got this for my 7 yr old daughter with DS. She loves this pink little poodle with bows on its ears. There are two options on the control, one to walk and one to bark and wag it’s tail which gets tons of giggles. I do wish the cord could be a bit longer but overall for the ago group that would want this I guess it’s sufficient. When I first saw the poodle I couldn’t get over how cute it was and the package it came in. I love that the box can be colored and entertain my kids. The Poodle is very soft and very cuddly. At first I had the sad option on and was confused why the puppy was only crying, even when we were petting it. We then found an option to change that and my kids were happy the puppy wasn’t sad anymore. It’s a cute simple toy for the young ones- not too interactive.
