My pit-boxer mix LOVES her Petstages antler – she actually gnawed the first one down to only two or three inches in about six months. She's on her second one now. I was a little skeptical at first on whether or not she would like it, but it is probably her favorite toy. We love that it cleans her teeth and that it takes her so long to destroy – most toys take her a few hours before they are destroyed (she's a focused chewer). We also love that the antler won't splinter, which makes it safer for her to chew on. When her daddy comes come from being gone all day she can take her excitement out on her antler instead of going bonkers, which is win-win. We purchased this toy at Target and will be buying a third one when the second one is gone. Definitely recommend this toy.april.m

We have bought two of these since we got out German Shepherd as a puppy. We still have the first and nothing is wrong with it it was just too small now. Our dog can literally destroy a toy in less than 5 min. Even toys that claim they are indestructible or their squeakers will keep squeaking even if punctured. This is the first toy that she hasn't destroyed in a day. The second one we've had for about a month now and besides some marks from her teeth, it's in great condition.Xenas Mommy

I bought these on a whim for my puppy to see if it would help with her desire to chew. Well as soon as I pulled them out, the fight started. So I had to go back to the store and purchase two more for the other two dogs. They love these bones, and will chew on them for ever. I have now purchased 10 more since the first one. I liked that this chew toy was durable and had some weight to it, but my dog doesn’t play with the toy at all. I believe this is the toy he could not “destroy” and didn’t want anything to do with it. It did have a rubbery smell, so he might have been turned off by that, but it was a waste of money for me. I would recommend this chew stick to anyone with larger dogs that have a big bite, because I’m sure it definitely let’s them enjoy themselves more.katrina.s

This chew toy is probably good for moderate chewers, but not for heavy chewers. My 60 lb. dog had teeth marks all over this toy in a matter of minutes, and it looks very unstable as if it will completely tear apart with one good tug. I was disappointed given how expensive it is, and that I thought it had a good warranty. But if you go to the website for the return that is guaranteed, you will find that you have to pay shipping to return it, and give the company a check for $7.50 for them to ship the new toy to you. That's about $15 for a $22 toy. I wanted to upgrade to the Maxx toy to see if it will last longer, but the hassle doesn't seem worth it.brahm13

So I was super skeptical about buying….. a piece of wood.I mean, why can't I just grab a chunk off of the split wood we already have? Let me tell ya, it's sooo not the same. I bought the small size. We have two English Bulldogs and a Heeler puppy (think Velociraptor) that love to chew. This small 'piece of wood' is really lasting!!! I was so hesitant to spend ANY money on- again 'a piece of wood'.. but whatever type of Christmas miracle wood this is… it's definitely holding up well. Might seem pricey up front, but if it keeps your furry monsters occupied and happy, WORTH IT! (Think: they are busy = you have free time to play on your phone!) It doesn't splinter or anything, which I was initially worried about. They just kind of gnaw on it. We usually give them deer or moose shed pieces, because they can be a bit rough on regular toys. I have 2 pit bulls and both are big chewers (one likes real bones and the other likes rubber). I got one of these wood chews just to see if my big guy (90lbs) would like it. He immediately loved it and tried to hide in the house to keep it from his sister. She's 40 lbs and didn't show interest the first few hrs, but she finally gave it a try and loved it too! My boy has a genetic gum disease that causes his gums to overgrow around his teeth, so they can be sensitive. This chew is strong enough not to break down but soft and smooth enough that it doesn't hurt his gums. This is a winner! I'm buying the medium one now for my 40lb dog.Emmy

I bought this because my daughter said it was the only chew toy that her husky didn’t destroy. It was his favorite and he was still chewing for nearly a year. I was hesitant to spend $17 for what look to me as a regular old log, however, it was definitely worth every penny! My dog destroyed everything in a matter of seconds. This has lasted him for months. He chews on it every day and it’s gotten much smaller, but still has lots of life left. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting something to keep your dog busy for a little while.chaplaintrb

This ring was the best investment! My pup goes through most chew toys in minutes as she LOVES to chew. This ring lasted a little over 7 months before she got to the red “safety” layer. I sent it in for the guarantee (paid shipping both ways, around $15) and got a brand new one! My pup has been chomping the new one for almost 2 months and it’s going strong. HIGHLY recommend for pups that love to chew! I want to mention that it is fairly large and heavy (my pup loves to swing it around and it has a somewhat frightening loud drop – but you get used to it). It also smells rubbery (because it’s a really high quality rubber) and now my pup thinks things like erasers are her toys. This is an amazing product, tough, good size & well made. Mabel my dog took to it right away….and then…..when it wouldn't break up or fall apart – she wasn't that impressed. HOWEVER – as her other toys are getting ruined & chucked, there is less choice for her & she is having another "go" at the GoughNut. So not overly satisfying for her at this early stage – but VERY satisfying as an owner. I can see that in no time – this will be her only chewing toy remaining & it will last. Currently I use it as fetch play with her & she very happy – and it will become part of her routine in a short while I think. GREAT VALUEErica

You needed a bigger size. Generally, I would recommend sizing up once or twice anyway. The smaller ones are too small and not as thick of material therefore easier for any size dog to tear up. Additionally, if the toy isn’t full of snacks, take it away. Don’t let them chew on the toy itself just as a chew toy. That is another reason why the toy may get damaged. If the dog is focused on getting the snack out, they’ll be much less focused on destructive behaviors and tearing things apart. If you have a puppy, remember they teethe and it HURTS. They self sooth by chewing. Give them things it’s okay to chew on/destroy like Nyla bones (which seriously last forever even in strong determined breeds). Last thing to mention, is that if you really want to go with indestructible, prefer something that’ll keep them busy for a lot longer periods of time, then get the weighted feeder kong balls. I put some dog food into ours along with some soft small very strong smelling treats and my dogs work on this for HOURS. It’s how they get their meals or at least part of their meal each day. You can fed the whole meal this way if you want. They come in different sizes but the biggest size has worked perfectly for all of my dogs (weights range from 35 to 150lbs). They knock it over and the snack or treat falls out of a little hole. Then they keep working on it little by little, it’s really a great option for keeping them distracted! Just be sure to take it away when they’re not using it anymore so they don’t learn to guard it. This is true with any toy, treat, bone, or food. Offer a few times a day then take away when they’re no longer interested. Free feeding is one of the worst habits to start and makes it difficult for owners to tell quickly when something is off with their pet. I learned this the hard way! (Google this if you don’t believe me) I would still consider these Kong balls to be indestructible IF you use them properly. I have huge, strong dogs, a sharp toothed and very busy heeler and both have had theirs for 4 years without incident and not even a puncture mark into either one. I filled with “mini” milk bones and broken in half “small” milk bones but just read another reviewer said they freeze theirs with pnut butter and treats inside. Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

This is the old classic rubber Kong dog toy. I have the regular size and the small size for my boxer and for my Boston terrier. Its shape causes it to bounce in random directions. My dog absolutely loves this toy. I've put everything in that thing. I have broken up some single ingredient treats and stuffed them in Kong. We refer to my dogs as having ADHD, or a very SHORT attention span, but not with this toy they absolutely love it!! . I put treats as well as peanut butter bananas or yogurt then put them in the freezer. The freezing slows down their ability to clean out the inside quickly so the game lasts a little longer. The rubber is hard enough so they cannot chew through it yet soft on their teeth and gums. The hole is large enough to easily fill the inside as well as wash out the inside after use. Definitely buy multiples so that there are some in the freezer ready to go on those hot days or on those days that you just need a little time to get something done while your dog is occupied. All in all I completely recommend these toys for all dogs of any shape and size.Ysabel

I've been buying Nylabones for every single one of my dogs for over a decade now, because they are the only toys that last longer than a week! I have an AmStaff, a Pittie, a Chihuahua, and a Chi-Pin and all 4 of them have the same veracious chewing habits. My small dogs strangely prefer all of the larger Nylabone models meant for bigger dogs over the teeny tiny ones meant for them, lol..don't ask me why, but they do! With daily usage from all 4 of my dogs, they tend to last anywhere from 9-12 months, until the big dogs whittle them down to what I call "shanks" (they tend to get a bit pointy/jagged on whatever end has been chewed on more)..and then once they become too small & unsafe for the big dogs, I just remove them and give them to the little dogs in another part of the house [away from the big dogs], and they continue enjoying these "nubs" for another 9-24 months. That being said, these "nubs" don't get chewed on daily by the small dogs since they prefer the largest/most intact Nylabones in the house lol. I've tried soooo many other brands of toys from multiple pet stores/other big box retail chains over the years, but these are the only consistent and affordable chew toys I've been able to find over the years..not to mention, all of my dogs LOVE them! The only other toy my dogs have not managed to destroy is their original Kongs, but literally, everything else typically gets destroyed within just a few short minutes-just a few days. For those worried about the dogs chewing off little pieces, that's kind of the point of these bones….why do you think most of them are flavored, lol..?? It's made of nontoxic ingredients that are safe and easily digestible, so I wouldn't worry about that. In my 14+ year tenure of owning dogs (esp. ones that are hardcore chewers w/ super strong jaws), NEVER have any of my dogs, no matter their size/breed, ever had any issues w/ digesting these bones..so fear not, fellow canine lovers! 🙂 Highly recommend ANY of the DuraChew Nylabones, esp. for dogs who are super orally fixated/hardcore chewers!!tboytrey

My boy loves this chew toy! I love this chew toy! They last a really long time, (at least for him) and they hold up really well to all of his shenanigans with it. In the 13 years I've had my dog I've only had to buy 3 of these, and one was bought only because he dropped it into a river while on a boat. It goes everywhere with him. I have tried all sorts of Kongs, smaller nylabones, soccer and rubber balls that my two dogs can't even get their mouths around, and they still find a way to destroy their toys. Anyone who has a power chewer knows that some dogs will chew with the front teeth to find a spot to tear open. Though this particular nylabone is large and expensive, it has held up to both my dogs' chewing for three months now. So far, they haven't chewed either end down, though it can get rough on the edges. No toy is permanent, but if you are looking for a toy that will last, this is one. I've seen reviews where people could not get their dogs to bother with this toy and thus rated them low because they spent the money on them. All I can say is that is not the manufacturer's fault. Some dogs just do not like certain chew toys. These nylabones are blocky and heavy and probably not meant for a small dog or one who doesn't like the weight to carry around. The product description states that it has a chicken flavor. One thing I will point out is that if it does, it does not have an odor that I can smell, unlike many other toys that have flavors infused in them. I'm sure that's a tactic to appeal to the dog more but for mine it doesn't make a difference. I'm just glad I can't smell it.' Cannot hold up, unlike it\'s advertised use. 10 minutes after receiving the toy, my 9 month old poodle mix had damaged the rings and there are now sharp edges and pieces have flaked off. Chewing is supposed to help calm a dog so I have been searching for something that my dog can chew without calories. This is not that product. The first day she had no interest in it at all. I had to smear it with some peanut butter to get her to look at it as the card suggested. She licked it clean and ignored it again. The second day we played fetch and tug with it and she got interested about 15 minutes and she chewed a piece out of it. Not very durable for something meant to be chewed on.
