I have 2 very picky dogs, whom despite not having table food, turn their noses up at a LOT of treats, and meals. I had to cancel a subscription box I had for them because they only liked the toys and not the treats. We have a house of pets including cats and a dog along with carpeted bedrooms. I have tried numerous flea and tick treatments and still would see a flea here and there. Living in a place where the weather is warm year round fleas are really bad. I was feeling like I was not going to find something that worked and was affordable. Specially since I have 4 dogs and 1 cat. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. I bought this one day on the recommendation of the pet store clerk. What I liked is that it was easy to apply, and it work quickly and efficiently , neither of my dogs had any type of negative side effects, there was no redness or scaliness or itchiness at the point of the application, and less than 36 hours all fleas were sufficiently gone. This product has a unique texture that's more like a runny lotion. I believe it was formulated that way to make it longer lasting. The smell of lemongrass and rosemary is very nice, and my dog doesn't seem to mind it. However, I wouldn't recommend it for white dogs as it can stain fur. My mostly white pup had become yellow in places. Which is too bad. I was starting to become partial to this brand and their products. This is interesting. The texture is like a gel spray and really sticks to the fur when dried down. I recommend taking a flea comb and combing it through your pets fur. I have taken my dog on some hikes in the forest and have found not one tick or flea on her! This actually does work if you are thorough with it. It seemed super oily to me, however I'm sure that is necessary for it to be effective. Also I got some on my skin and it did not cause irritation, even though my skin is very sensitive. So you don't have to worry about washing couches or furniture if you or your family members have sensitivity issues. To protect my dog from ticks, I put this on my dog once a month in the summer. I go camping a lot and while we were just in the woods for the weekend on the North Shore he didn’t get one tick. Word of advice though is to not let the oil touch anything because it stains and gets everywhere. Beejers (a rescue Pom-Chi) is just 7 lbs and I used the expensive stuff on him the first 3 months when he came to his forever home with the 2 Bengals & I, cuz it said "WATER-PROOF". Poor little guy got a TICK in his little ear & brought in a few FLEAS between monthly applications. I have had lymes & am petrified of ticks. A herd of deer (notorious for dropping fleas & ticks) cross/graze on the lawn daily. Have used Sentry Fipro on the cats for 8 yrs. with excellent results, so ordered some for him. Beejers has used Fipro 15 months now, gets 3-4 baths per month and has NEVER had fleas or ticks since using Fipro & he is an outdoors lover. Mosquitos hover but DO NOT lite even on his nose. It does have a runny consistency, as some reviews have noted. However, this formula smells good and has worked wonders for my dachshund. I lathered him up and saw the fleas jump off in the tub. I watched fleas run down the drain. Then I used a flea comb while he was still wet. The two fleas I found in the comb were dead. My dachshund has sensitive skin and this shampoo didnt irritate him at all. I could tell he felt much better. He was even licking the top of my foot in the tub and he never does that during a bath. Used to use a brand from the vet for years and they recently changed the formula and it no longer worked the same, it also had horrible effects on the entire family fur babies included! We had a terrible outbreak of fleas this last spring and had to purchase something locally and very urgently so in a way you could say we where forced into “settling” for this product along with the hartz home spray. We where very pleasantly surprised that this product worked nearly instantly to rid our poor fur babies of all the dreadful little buggers that had been making life miserable. We all have extremely sensitive skin in our household and this product offered nothing but relief to the entire home. If forced to buy a grocery store product or on a tight budget give ethos product a try. I don’t think it offers the. Three months of constant protection we where accustomed to however it does provide almost instant relief and combined with the home spray one bottle of each got us through an absolutely terrible spring flea attack of outrageous proportions. Did not prevent ticks. Made my pup shed an insane amount. Needed to go to vet to get my 6 month old dog weighed to see how much he went up in size for flea and tick medication after finding one on him, we decided to get him this product while we waited to see the vet- after shampooing with this product and ensuring he was tick free, a new one appeared the day after his bath very alive and not affected by the shampoo used or repelled by it. Thankfully was able to get into the vet to have him weighed and get him his medication but this does not do as advertised as far as ticks are concerned. After looking more into this product i was very concerned to see what other pet owners went through by using this product.anon
