As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. She is also is not shaved down for colder weather so I tend to buy larger sizes for the colder seasons. Besides the price was great.Marlene D

This is such a cute harness. Very easy to put on since it's a walk in to type and then just click closed. I had a bit of trouble unclasping the attachment but I think it is because it is so tiny. The material is soft, but thick and durable, and double-stitched so securely that the material would likely rip before the seams holding the (what appears to be stainless steel) rings. In other words, this harness can hold up to a ton of abuse and still look/function like new. I would have given 5 stars but for the placement of the cute but annoying brand label that prevents me getting a perfect fit on my dog – IMHO a better place would be on the material between the front legs on the chest – but otherwise can't highly rate it enough.Bueler
Very nice Harness! The harness is very well made and a beautiful shade of bright blue….like the shade of blue you see with Duke University or University of Kentucky colors. The size XS is for a very small pet. The measurements are stated to fit a pet 11-15 inches in chest girth and approximately 5-10 pounds. For reference, I have a Cornish Rex cat. She is 15 years old and very thin. She weighs approximately 4 pounds. The harness fits her pretty well. I took a few pictures so you can see how cute she is in it and I do not have the adjustments as small as it could go. I have it about in the middle, so it could go larger or smaller than you will see in my picture. I realize that most people use this harness on a puppy but it is difficult to find a strong nicely made harness for a cat. This one works perfectly! My cat really doesn’t like for me to put any clothes, harness, collar, etc. on her. But when we go places, I cannot let her go free because she will take off and get herself lost. This harness is really great. I will make it smaller before I taker her outside with it. I do not take her on walks outside. She is strictly an indoor cat, but I sometimes have to travel with her and this will be very helpful. Lovely wax harness plenty of fabric to cover dogs chest area so it does not dig in like alot of harnesses do. Its important that the dog has fabric under his chin and all front chest this harness does that. Very easy to put on lovely very large velcro fastening in the top the dogs back and a good quality clip also 2 x loop rings which is a good touch because its more secure. I handwashed mine to get seawater off it and it came up lovely and you could feel the thick waterproofing in the fabric when it was being washed felt excellent quality like all Barbour is. A lovely harness i only buy quality because i have a small sausage dog and they have big chests so i must buy excellent quality harnesses. I like that there aren't alot of moving parts and it's simple yet effective. I like that this harness isn't choking my dog like the regular collar was, it grips him by the upper mid section and I can only assume it's much more comfortable for him. I like that the ring at the top is nice and large and sturdy and getting it on and off of him is a breeze plus the color matches him and it's very discrete which I prefer over something more "loud" that draws attention to itself. We received a free sample in exchange for an honest review. This harness was so easy to put on the dog. Just lay it on the floor and put his feet in the correct spot, then clip the top. It was also very easy to adjust the size. I was unsure why 2 D-rings, but once I fastened it, the design made sense. I read the other reviews and have not had the trouble with it slipping to the side like some of the others reported. Only thing I can think of is that it might depend on the build of the dog. I need to start by saying that my harness is beautiful and well made. It is near impossible to find a completely white harness out there and was very happy by the look and quality. That said, I ordered an XS for my Chihuahua which is supposed to fit a chest between 13.5 – 16 inch chest. My Chi has a 14.5 inch chest with the measuring tape snug under his front legs (12 inch long and 8lbs). This harness when looped to its smallest hung off of him with about 1.5 inches visible above his long hair. Truly unwearable without a sweater on. all the other nylon harnesses tend to slip and lose their tightness after a while, I was forever discarding and buying new ones, trying many good brands. Artful Canine’s are unique. The nylon quality is sturdier and lasts longer, the leash doesn’t have sharp edges as many nylons do. I have a Chocolate Lab that weights in at about 80 pounds. She is really hard to fit for a harness. They are always to big on the top/neck to fit her on the chest. Finally I have one that fits her in both places the she seems very comfortable in. The PetSafe 3 in 1 Harness is adjustable at both the top/neck and the chest. It has a nice padding for comfort. Mine ripped in the same place others have complain about. My dog did not chew it. It was so odd as I was taking the dog to class and it just fell apart. Wasn’t even pulling on it. I love the versatility of this harness. I am able to use this for my car rides or when going out for a walk with my dog. We always have trouble with keeping him still in the car and am afraid he will fall or get hurt when driving. I was able to put this harness and attach to my seat Belt while still giving him wiggle room. It’s great for walking out too the only thing I find uncomfortable is how the front clip is set. It’s supposed to prevent my dog from pulling and it does help with this a lot, however I find it uncomfortable to attach a leash to. Usually I am used to having the leash at the top or dog’s back. This has both so its very versatile like I said. My doggy seems to be comfortable in this harness too so the pull clip I will not use but may work great for other owners. It seems my pup has a short neck so the over the head harness comes to close to his chin and he is able to get his mouth around the top. This harness is a step in harness easier to get on. However, since it is an XS it could have been a little narrower around the paw holes. It seems to come right up to the shoulder joint. Also the "D" hooks for the leash do not lay flat if you are at the tightest fit. Because of that, I remove the harness while indoors, especially when playing with other pups. We have a very active chocolate lab and this harness fits well and works like a dream. Front-attach harnesses work to destabilize the dog so you are not in a tug of war. Everyone we have suggested this harness to is a believer because it makes walking the dog less of a battle.
