I have a 99 pound Golden Retriever. She is loving, affectionate, obedient, but was starting to get stubborn about coming in from being outside. Talking with a knowledgeable individual at TSC, I selected this remote trainer. It has been a dream. The dog is happy, we are happy and we are totally sold on the SportDog Yard Trainer. A big thank you to the TSC associate for her valuable insight into selecting the best trainer.Tap 01
I have always been apprehensive of shock collars, but my dog was back-tracking on her training. She has always behaved very well on a leash, just to forget that training when the leash comes off. In only 2 weeks of use, this collar has worked like a charm! I have only had to shock once- the vibration and beep modes are enough to correct her. Both the collar and remote batteries are still charged after 2 weeks – I haven't had to recharge yet. Also, the SportDog website has a ton of articles, FAQs, and links to videos to assist in training and proper use of the collar. With smart training and proper use, this collar will work WONDERS with your dog's training!HintonandHintonFarms
I had a waterproof beeper before. I learned quickly after drowning it. It is not submersible. Now. I know the difference. And this one is a keeper. I love its freedom. I love to walk around the neighborhood pond with our dog, Louise. She loves to play fetch, Especially in the pond. When others walk by she wants to greet them enthusiastically. She normally follows my commands. But when people are involved she can be out of control happy. Anyway this beeper let’s her enjoying fetching in the water, and obeying my “here” command as well. This devise has given both of us confidence to leave are yard.sandyThib

Reviews:
These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. Overall still my favorite collar, although I haven‘t used anything else!Sarah
I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

Already a fan of Sportdog, Ive been using a single collar for 8 yrs with no issues. This control is more exact with 2 or more collars, I use three collars and I love it. A word of caution with the camo controller and dog collar, if you drop it in the woods youll never find it. Go with the hunter orangested1201
The transmitter will not charge, despite my having ordered a new battery. The collar receives and charger work just fine, but the transmitter does not work well…it lost its charge and I can't recharge it…so it's a very expensive one-time-use collar. I should have spent just a little more for a Garmin.CabelasSucks111

Love it! Great for keeping track on fur baby! Thank you!william
It is not user friendly. The icons for the dog and your location are too small and the contrast on the screen makes it hard to see the little icons in sunny conditions. The collar that came in the box is not bright green as it shows on the box. It is a medium green, harder to see on the dog than the bright green I thought I was getting. Although it states it is for use for all types if dogs, the booklet and DVD are all geared for a bird dog.Anonomous reviewer

Reviews:
We adopted a dog who is a nervous guy and not food motivated. He would bark at people walking by our house and wouldn’t come when he was called. I used this collar to train him and only had to use the static stimulation twice on the lowest setting and now just use the tone. This collar with the proper training makes a world of difference.Dave153227
Four months ago we picked up a 3 year old yellow lab at a shelter near Denver. The dog is lovable, has had some hunting experience, but was WILD when we got him. It was necessary to keep him tethered at all times, or he was GONE for 20 minutes pursuing some scent in the nearby forest (we back up to public land). I purchased this device in the hopes I could control him. To my surprise I discovered he must have had some time with a similar device. He instantly responded to the Tone/Vibration mode. When he would start to take off, one tap on that mode made him instantly come back. Only if he chased a deer on hikes did I have to "tingle" him a little. He would immediately drop the chase. Now I can take a hike with him in the forest, without a leash, & he stays right with me, if wearing the collar.mstar5
I bought the sport dog 425x for my lab a few months ago & loved it but it recently fell off him while we were walking on a trail and I was never able to find it. For the money it costs, I don’t think it should fall off that easily. I then bought the 825x, but I’m not sure I recommend this collar for extremely active dogs.esport dog collar

I have hunted 6 times now with the device. Has only lost contact one time in very deep brush for about 10 seconds. Otherwise this has been spot on. Already saved my dog once when he was caught on a branch from his vest. Well worth the price. Battery life actually seems better than reported. I’ve only had to charge it one time for six different hunts. Each lasting about 3 to 4 hours. Hopefully it lasts for years and years!Ryan7

Reviews:
Does not work at 100 yards as advertised. I bought this because I have a big yard and the invisible fences do not offer a big enough range for my dog to roam. I bought this trainer because of the 100 yard range it claimed to have, thinking I could give my dog more room to play and run. My house sets about 80 yards off the road in front of our house. I have tried several times to correct my from the house before he gets to the road and it would not work.I have to be with-in 30 yards of my dog before it works. Once I'm with-in 30 yards it works great and my dog responds well to the correction. I wish I had shopped around more before bought this collar.JDPK
I had the older model for 4 years and loved it, Bought this unit because I thought I was upgrading and other collar battery was no good. This doesn't hold charge for more than 2 days.. No warning that battery is low as in previous model. Too expensive for this item and quality. I wish I could Return. I live on several acres, I need a collar I can depend on.Elaine727
I have a crazy dog that is a Lab-Pointer. He was the worse in his puppy class. I have trained dogs before, big dogs and hunting dogs. This guy doesn’t get it! He gets the trading collar though. I have had this for months. I only shocked him once. I rarely “ buzz” him on a low vibrational mode to stop unwanted behaviors like over exuberant jumping on visitors. It works. I have the upland hunting version, partly for locating the dog in thick brush, same brand. Both are very helpful. This one year old dog has done well on several pheasant hunts and game land excursions.FishHawk90

Product initially worked well. Combination of tone, vibration, and shock works well for training. My golden retriever responded well. Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. Once the replacement arrives, I am hoping I just got a lemon.Renegade08
I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. My dog can go swimming, get dirty, muddy, get hosed off, and the collar still works like a charm. I am extremely impressed. The handheld remote also floats (I fell into the lake once with it, and it floated just fine) For anyone looking for a durable and functional collar that will last forever, this is it.Skeet999
We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! Love it! The only thing I noticed was the collar became unpaired from the remote after we took him to the lake to swim. But it was very easy to pair up again, just by reading the instructions in the manual. Very happy with this purchase.jackflash72

Reviews:
I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I have had the collar only a few days and so far it has met every expectation. We had a more expensive name brand training collar before this one which my dog somehow removed and chewed to oblivion. Rather than spend over $150 to replace it I wanted to try out a cheaper alternative in the likely event he ruins another one in the future. He had already been familiar with a training collar so going to this one was no problem. I like having a beep tone as well as a vibrate warning before having to go with a full on shock. I have so far only had the use the warning tone which is nice and loud on this collar and the pup recognizes it right away. It seems to have decent distance, have not tested the claimed 330 yards yet though. For the price it is a great unit with nice features. The more expensive one we had before was much more robust but I didnt expect this to be built the same for 1/5th the price, with that said it is built well, surprisingly well for the money honestly. Have not tested the waterproof ability yet as we dont live near water but it looks like it should be fine to get wet without issue. Battery life seems good so far, going on several days without a recharge but we dont use it all day either. Overall I am so far satisfied with it, I would recommend this toanyone who wants an inexpensive training collar but I dont expect it to last for years like the other one we had.kerr8719
Tested on an open field with the collar in line of sight, the range is roughly 150 feet. That said, I strongly doubt if any of the other e-collars can do much better without extraordinary antennas. Here in the US the transmitting power of devices like this is severely limited by law, so the only way to get more range than the competition is to have more prominent antennas. This collar delivers on a 2 year old high drive, 78 pound, male doberman. I used the shock once at 30 and it definitively got a yelp and the dog's attention. Since then the "vibrate" mode is effective enough. Most of the time we use the collar to stop barking at the window, The dog barks we say "quiet" and if, and only "if", the dog immediately barks again he gets a "vibrate". He seems to avoid barking immediately after a "quiet" command. Now the challenge is to extend the time he doesn't bark for at least 30 seconds after a "quiet" commend. Our second and very infrequent application is open field recalls. For that I'd dearly love an electric collar with a 100 yard range, but even this collar's 50 yard range is helpful. Using an e-collar in an open field is a tricky business. What seems to work is to put the collar away until you have a good recall without distractions. Even 10 feet in a hallway or tennis court teaches you and your dog how to do a recall that ends with the beast sitting nicely in front of you and getting a tasty reward. Never repeat your recall command even if it means constantly dragging the animal back until it figures our what you expect. What the e-collar is then useful for is dealing with distractions — another dog, an annoying squirrel or even sniffing a bit of chicken soup spilled nearby. Issue your recall command and look for that momentary hesitation when the animal decides to ignore you and hit the e-collar to remind the beast that you just gave a command. Any other timing and the animal has no clue and would just as easily take off in the opposite direction to get away from the unwelcome stimulation. One feature I miss is a combination tone/shock. Most dogs will quickly associate the tone with the shock and you'll *never* need to use a shock again. Aren't you glad you didn't ask? Aza D. Oberman 3/27/2018wwiernce

Hi. We just started using the collar on Saturday. It is amazing. Cleo is not uncomfortable and more settled. No more bunny hopping & barking (large german shepherd) at the front door when the postman comes. The neighbours are not complaining. We are home this week and keeping an eye on her and reafirming when she is quiet. I think the collar had only got to about level 2 a couple of times over the last couple of days. We just cannot beleive it!Nicole P.
Amazing product!!! I have a beautiful groodle, well trained and loved dearly. But her barking was out of control. Kids couldn't play ball without the constant barking. And a knock on the door would send her into a barking frenzy. Neighbours at the fence would have her barking for hours. We have tried many training techniques and even gadgets but without success. This bark collar worked like magic. Within two days we had a quiet house. We kept the collar on for two weeks, non stop. And she has not barked once. It changed our dog and our lives. We enjoy her company so much more now and the kids love playing with her without the barking. I wish I had found this product sooner. I strongly recommend this collar to anyone and everyone with a dog that has a barking problem. Worth every cent. Jo, from VictoriaJo K.
Researching and ordering the collar from the Bark Control website was seamless. The bark collar was received in short time via Australia Post Express. It appears to be well made and fairly robust. Operation of and fitting the collar is easy, directions are included and are simple to follow. We've had no barking complaints from our neighbours since changing to this collar so I guess it's working. it's far superior to our previous vibration type which was pretty much useless on our cattle dog. I would recommend this collar for tough barkers. Thanks.LEON P.

Garmin is known for great value and they don't fall short with the PT10 add-on collar for the PRO70, PRO550 or the SportPRO I have the Pro550 and I use all three functions, the tone, the vibrate and the stimulus while training and my dogs respond to each one in the manner I want. The ability to switch between the modes and to adjust the strength of stimulus when using it is extremely valuable. Trust the Garmin name and you won't be sorry.starr***
I purchased this collar to go with the Garmin Pro 550. The system is of the highest quality, used by professional dog trainers who only want the best. Easy to pair with my existing transmitter and works exactly as intended. The only negative point I can make is the lack of colors. I have three hunting dogs, and my transmitter will work simultaneously with three collars. My transmitter has a color coded toggle in Red, Black and Blue to chose the dog that needs some encouragement. My transmitter came with a black collar, therefore, I just needed to buy a red and blue collar and all would be well in the world. Cabela's only sells this collar in Red! Great! One down, one to go. That is when I discovered that Cabela's only sells a "Red" additional collar when Garmin offers about ten different colors. Since Cabela's does not offer the Blue collar, I am forced to purchase the blue collar somewhere else. Come on Cabela's, didn't your guys notice the Red, Black and Blue color scheme on the Garmin's you sell? That is my only gripe on an outstanding collar!!AugustaDonster

We purchased this with it stating it was a new collar. The actual collar that it came on has been cut off. There is no charger with it. It does seem to work but with the collar being cut it won't fit our hounds & without a charger u cant charge it. It came in a envelope, not in a box like the new ones do.boyces08

I purchased an orange one and a black one. The orange one is fine and works great. The black one is clearly a refurbished piece of garbage. It was nice being able to confirm that because I purchased two (a burden that should not be in any consumer with only one dog). The beeping (during noise only function) is at a significantly lower decimal than the orange one. AND…the stimulation is much weaker. They will not send me a new item. I am only allowed to send the defective one back to the retailer for my money back. Buyer beware.Rob152

I liked the idea of a collar with vibration and sound versus shock or static. Didn't want to hurt my dog, just wanted to get his attention. The vibration works the best on mine, he learned within a day or two that when I called his name, I wanted him to come to me. In fact, it worked so well that I no longer need the collar for the negative behavior he displayed when I first bought it. And that's a darned good thing because an updated to the app in late April this year (changed from one app to another, forced not by choice) has rendered the collar worthless. The app itself is impossible to connect to the collar 99% of the time. If I was buying a collar again, I'd buy the same collar but would NOT opt for the phone app. I'd get it with a remote. The collar works, you won't hurt your pup, (don't use the static!) and the end result is the exclusion of negative behavior. Just be sure you don't get the one with the phone app.Mimi2Six
I literally just bought this yesterday! It is such a waste of money. The fact that it disconnects so much, and takes forever to reconnect to the collar is a terrible feature. How are you supposed to train a dog when you spend more time “connecting” to the collar. What a waste of $94. Would love to get my money back or have a collar that actually does what it’s intended to do.Terrible collar
I’ve always been hesitant because I always thought that the smart colors shock the dog but I do enjoy the vibration aspect of it because it’s not harmful to my baby. It’s helping me control behaviors like staying off of the furniture and not pulling on the leash and within the short time we’ve use it I can already see you a little bit of improvement on his behavior in these areas. He will walk next to the couch but will not get on it he’ll lay in front of it which is what we wanted. And he’s also stopped tugging at the leash on walks. I am definitely Happy with this product. I also like that you can control the level of the vibration on the collar. So what we did was we gradually increase the intensity of the vibration until we knew that he could fill it we know that it would probably be a pretty high because he does have thick for him but it startles him it doesn’t it doesn’t hurt him and that’s what’s most important. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who’s wanting to train their dogs in the humane way with physical reinforcement without harming their pet.Lorielnj

Reviews:
I bought the XC Bundle for training my 10 month old Drahthaar after I was disappointed with another brand…I love Cabela's Customer service and return polices, no issues retiring the previous product. I won't mention the other brand but wished I had went with Garmin from the beginning. I find it hard to believe the negative reviews on this product after my experience with it this winter. I've had no issues with battery life in the collar or handheld…its actually surprised me with how will its performed in cold weather and direct water contact training my dog in Lake Ontario,…the 1/2 mile range is more then enough for both training and field work. The control buttons are excellent, don't be fooled by guys saying dial buttons are better, this handheld is well built and very nice to carry and I've never accidentally changed settings, and you can work the buttons with light gloves easily. The contact points are great…the long version is perfect for my dogs dense wire coat. I honestly do not have a negative thing to say about this purchase..if you do not need the bark control feature the Delta XC will do everything you need it to. Don't hesitate buying this productDogDown
Bought the Delta XC couple of years ago and had no luck getting my stubborn dog to respond. Finally out of frustration I hired a qualified trainer to get this dog’s reactive aggression under control. Told the trainer that I had one of these after the first session where the dog was not giving into our will. Trainer took the time to educate how it works and why. Helped us set it up and we began using this as a tool to get compliance. It really hasn’t taken long to get the dog to understand the command, the mild correction (2-4 setting), and the treat or no treat for compliance. The dog is by no means perfect, but barking can now be controlled with command and either tone or small correction. Dog recall is much improved as before the dog would not come when called. Now, call once. If no response, call a 2nd time and add a minor correction and the dog returns to me immediately. Thanks Bob
We’ve been using our Garmin Delta Sport XC for quite some time now, and it’s been working pretty much flawlessly. Sometimes our GSP reacts more, as though she’s more sensitive to the static signal, but then she’s a stubborn dog that *wants* a stronger signal than most dogs. She usually responds best at 13-High. (She’s trained to the collar as a signal for the most part, not so much as a “correction.”) The dogs wear their collars every day from wake-til-bed without issue. The remote’s signal strength seems to be at least 1/2-mile through heavily wooded terrain, so it’s lived up to our expectations.Joyce

This is an amazing product, once fitted properly it works perfectly and now my dog has loads more freedom off lead especially in high wildlife areas (that is mostly in our town boundary). The customer service from Bark Control was instant and the advice was thorough when I had trouble with the product to start with but is now rectified and I’m a very happy customer. Thank youJudi L.
The on-line Walmart experience was as good as the best service there is, and much better than most. Ordered on Wednesday, at my door on Friday. Free shipping. The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. Awesome tool when used sparingly.Buckeye
