These are absolute garbage! They are really small and I even doubled up, they still leak right through the material. Very disappointing since I decided to spend a few extra dollars and order them through Walmart after reading so many positive reviews. Bought these to put under my 17year old dog to keep jer dry amd comfortable in her final weeks. She could no longer stand or walk but the vet said if I brought her in to assess for euthanization I would have to just hand her to them in the parking lot and they would take her in the office (due to covid). That wasnt happening and the home pet hospice places werent responding so it was up to me to make her comfortable. I lined her bed with these daily and changed them as soon as they were wet or dirty. I hand fed her all the treats she was never supposed to have for her final weeks jere on earth. She was comfortable and lasted almost a month like that, finally passing on 6/6/20 at 17-1/2 years old. Great size. I have a 13 year old chihuahua rescue dog that had never been outside in 10 years. I use these pads for her and for a puppy that was also a rescue. The puppy was only used to going on concrete and floors! Although they can spend hours outside in the yard or on the patio or veranda, weather permitting, the chihuahua faithfully uses the pads. My 15 year old shih tzu has just had enough of that "outside" thing. And I've had enough of disposable pads, and her tendency to use them with her front feet on, back feet off, leading to *** all UNDER the disposable pad rather than on it. Or to *** on the carpet nearby instead of the puppy pad. These washable pads seem to be EXACTLY the compromise we needed. Nice and stable – no slipping! – for her feet like the carpet, but easy to pick up and throw in the wash. And she doesn't confuse them with the carpet either – she knows THIS is her spot, she's allowed to *** here. It did take a few days to adjust from being carried to an outdoor dog park at the apartment to using these indoor ***** pads. First, to find the right place to put them, then to convince her that she was allowed to *** AND **** on them (she prefers different spots, apparently, for #1 and #2), but she's got it down now and has re-earned her right to roam freely. After a day or a day and a half of use, they can get a bit smelly (maybe 3-4 pees), but the ability to quickly throw in the wash, and the GLORY of not having to mop underneath them every time, makes it very doable. I just ordered a couple more, so that I can always have a couple in the wash and a couple out. One happy dog, one happy human.

These pads really lock in the moisture! I have tried many brands of pet pads and they are NOT all made the same. Some are very low quality so that unless the urine is directly in the middle of the pad, it leaks everywhere. That wasn't the case with the Hartz Home Protection pads. They did a FANTASTIC job locking in wetness and not leaking. We use these for both our dog and our cats' litter boxes. We have a female cat that does not like to "squat" in the cat box like a normal female cat! She sometimes misses the box which can cause a HUGE mess! These pads are wonderful for that, too! No wet floor, no cleaning, no odor! The urine has NEVER spilled off the sides of the pad which is a problem we have had in the past with other brands. I also like that they are unscented as our dog is a bit picky about those kinds of things. If the fragrance is too overpowering, she won't use them at all!! Tried the Hartz Home Protection Odor Eliminating XL Pads and have to safe that I wasn't impressed. These pads did not do a good job of absorbing the urine. My dog stepped in the wet spot a few minutes after urinating and tracked urine paws prints all over the house. When buying a dog pad my 2 main concerns are will it absorb urine well so that my dog doesn't get his urine all over the place? and will it control the odor until I am able to change the pad? These pads seemed to control the odor well enough and I really like the XL size. However, absorption was poor and would not use these again. My Labrador had stitches in her front leg right on the ankle joint so it was at high risk of infection as very close to the bone. I was hoping this would negate the need for the huge buster collar however, she would still lick at it through the sleeve and make it wet therefore increasing the risk of infection to the wound. She therefore still had to wear the buster collar as well as the sleeve to stop her licking it. Within a couple of days, there was a hole in the material of the sleeve and since then, a further tear has developed, so the quality of the material is not that good. She has also worked out how to get her leg out of it so all in all, it hasn’t been that great! That said, I would still recommend using one as it was better than not having the wound covered at all but for me, it didn’t negate the need for a buster collar unfortunately.Julieann
1 Very happy owner and one calm snoring Dog. He`s been at the top of his leg the last few days and licked it raw . No socks long enough and a long sleeved T shirt was not a success . This product worked great to get our dog to pee in the middle of the pad, but since we keep a pad for accidents when we are not home the pad was not ideal or essential. Our dog completely avoided the pad and the surrounding area for any poo accidents leaving us with “surprises” around the house. We did not have this issue with regular training pads, so we will be sticking to the normal pads for now.Mimi

Now that it's June, it's getting hotter and I am worried about our two puppies being uncomfortable or even overheating. This pad is remarkable! Just the weight of the dog causes the pad to become cool. The dogs love it! Even though it cools off in the evening, I move the pad to their bed at night so they sleep much better. We have two toy poodle pups, so I bought a LARGE size pad so they could both use it and have plenty of room. I also bought the pad cover as well, and it is a finely woven cloth, very similar to nice pillowcase. I’m pleased (and relieved) to report that my very particular English Labrador has rated her Cool Pad with a big Paws Up. When it arrived she didn’t want to go near it. “What IS this? WHY do I need to lay down on it? Is this some sort of trick? Am I going to have to walk around this now? If you like it so much, you lay on it” … etc. The wonderfully helpful people at the Green Pet Shop suggested if she is particular about texture, I might try getting a cover. That did the trick! I didn’t even realize they sold covers. Yes, you can make one, but theirs fits absolutely perfectly and I’m sure it will keep it in even better condition. The cover is thin and does not affect the cooling process. Because it fits the pad perfectly, it doesn’t slide around. What a difference! She walked over and got right on it. I nearly fell over. I have always wanted to try this product but it's been sold out all the prior times I wanted to try it and now I see why! This product is simply AMAZING for my dog's paws. The pads of her feet tend to get dry and cracked in the winter time and I wanted something that was effective yet safe to use as well. This stuff is perfect! I put it on her paws just once and I was surprised at how soft it made her paws feel – they were like puppy paws again (and she's almost 4 years old). It rubs in nicely and covers quite well so you don't need a TON to have good coverage on her feet. Even a few days later after applying, her feet are still soft – and that's after having been out in the cold and snow. These diapers are a lifesaver. The diapers I used for my senior girl before I found these were night and day. They wouldn't stay on and did not hold accidents without leaking. But the Simple Solutions fit her well, hold a lot when she has an accident and have never leaked. And she has not gotten them off. A big plus is they can be re-used over and over, and the tabs work as well as they did the first time, I put them on. One more plus is the price, compared to other disposables. The diapers are still incredibly absorbent, however the last 2 days we\'ve been finding her in a full diaper but we\'ll also find pee somewhere on the floor. And she\'s somehow still dry? It\'s very confusing. It must be caused by the diaper shifting when she sleeps in it, or something. I really wish there was and XXS option for this product or that it fit a little more tightly to the body. The tapes should also have more grip than just the ends. These are the best pads I’ve used so far. I’ve tried them all: charcoal activated, huge ones, small ones, blue ones, green ones…. Everything. My cat has special needs as she is older and doesn’t like the feel of litter in her paws due to arthritis. So we line her litter boxes with these and she uses them happily. These smell nice when you put them out initially and the smell dissipates after a little bit. So the smell isn’t overwhelming. It also hasnt deterred my pet from using them. They’re very absorbent and they’ve never failed me in that sense. They certainly hold lots of urine. But as soon as they’re soiled, they do not mask the smell of urine or feces fully. They help, but they’re not magic after all. We change them out as soon as she uses them and would recommend it for anyone using them for puppy training. However, since walking on the urine will wet their paws and then move the peepee paw marks wherever else they go, as far as “transfer” goes, they’re not 100%. If our girl pees and it catches her back paws, they do get a little wet with pee and we have to wash her little pawpaws. So that’s something to consider.Celeste
I have used these pads 21”x21” for my small dog for years. Multiple pees are accommodated on each pad per day. I use the plastic tray with them. The tray holds the pad in place securely as the dog moves around. They never leak and absorb the urine quickly. I would never use another brand. There is no lure pheromone added to these pads and therefore perfect for animals that are not in training. Use the correct sized pad for the weight of your animal. A large dog in a small pad will cause leakage. Having a pad trained dog is wonderful for the animal and you. My dog can go to the bathroom when needed and doesn’t have to be in the icy cold weather for a pee. Less stress for everyone. Also convenient for traveling as you can provide a pad anywhere and your dog will use it. Takes time to pad train, and starting a puppy is easiest. However, I did train an electrolyte dog to use these late in life. I highly recommend these pads and the appropriate holder tray.luv2shop
On a weekly trip to Walmart, I stopped by the pet aisle to grab the stash of pads I needed for my fur babies. I usually use the blue lined pads in the large size and they work great. This day I accidentally bought the purple lavender scented ones. I figured if anything my living room will have the added pleasure of smelling great. Well then. My 3 adorable ferrets decided that this scent brought them back to the memories of their ancestors and decided to dig up these new pads as if they had a mission to generate a warp-hole to lavender fields of old. Sensing this could be a problem I took the duct tape approach. Lets tape these suckers into the cage so they can be dug up no more! Eureka! Well, no. The story only really begins here. Then one of them actually used the pad. I mean, well how much could a little carpet shark or three really pee right? Upon the first usage of this lavender scented pad my babies cage was covered in a flood like in the days of Noah! I think they released the Kraken! I had synchronize swimmers on my hands. This just did not work. After calling a clean up crew I decided that it just might be best to return to Walmart to pick up a package of the blue lined pads after all, as who could deal with all this on the daily. Because of a spine injury, my 15-year-old Bichon/Maltese Bebe has incontinence issues. Bebe is so small that even the XS size are a little too big, but as long as I fasten the velcro tapes as securely as possible, these Paw Inspired diapers work very well. They hold a lot of fluid and are apparently comfortable for her to wear all day and night. She usually requires two a day but at 32 per XS pack, one package lasts at least two weeks so they're worth the price.faunafan

Google brought me to the natural dog company because my dogs paws were the stuff off nightmares. Paw pads that look like hair which I learned was hyperkeratosis. Supposedly there is no cure for this. But I thought at the very least this would give him some relief as he must have been in some pain. Well he looks so much better already. The paws got soft enough that I was able to "trim" the filaments off sightly. Yes it was as gross as it sounds lol. He is not fully cured yet but his paws are so much closer to normal already. He is also in less pain as he is more tolerant of me putting the product on. Once he gets a bit more healed I will use the skin soother in-between the toes. The only con is that this stuff goes fast. I thought this was way too good to be true. My dog- Victoria, a catahoula- has severe allergies and has to be on a special diet, take medications, etc. even then, she has still had really bad allergies and chews her paws and legs. While she absolutely hates this stuff- I don’t know if it is the smell (it smells good, though), but on day 2 I saw a significant change in the redness and itchiness. I was such a huge skeptic because I’ve tried everything and I wasn’t expecting this to work and it has honestly been the only think that is not a medication that has helped. Please get this for your pets. Worst case scenario, it doesn’t help, I’m so glad I took the risk because Victoria’s skin looks so much better. Definitely worth it!!Christy
I run and walk my border collie 7-9 miles everyday and his paws were always rough so I decided to try this…within 1 week his cracks were almost all gone and his pads were really bad…deep skin cuts are almost fully gone!!! I had to order more of it even tho I haven't ran out fully. My dog doesn't lick it off or anything, but the first 2 times, it was hard to keep him still but now he lays there sleeping while I put it on him before bed. He lays still when I put it on in the morning also. I recommend getting the 4 Oz tin cuz I got the 2 Oz stick and after 1 week it's half gone…so if the pads are very rough, you my use a bit more than usual or recommended. Our dog is 14 and began having accident issues in the house. Talked to our vet's office to see what to do. They suggested either having someone come in during the day to let him out or the dog "diapers". I didn't want to have to pay someone to come in 5 days a week so we tried the disposable dog wrap. We have rescued an elderly dog from a hoarding situation. He was neutered at 10 1/2 years old, blind, and we have been unsuccessful at completely potty training him.
