I have a 97 lb. German Shepard. He is in a wheelchair/cart because he has no coordination or muscling in his hind legs. Because of this, he drags his feet and knuckles over, causing scrapes and bleeding to his hind feet. I have tried a wide range of items including my own protective foot wrap. ALL have fallen off in the first few strides. PawZ are a dream come true; they stay on, protect his feet and are reusable. Currently, I only use the boots on his hind feet. He takes a size Large and just like our own shoes, you need to get the correct size for you dog. *******IMPORTANT*******DO NOT LEAVE THESE BOOTS ON YOUR PET’S FEET FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME!!! They are snug around the neck of the boot, so I would suggest removing them immediately after you return from walking. I wouldn’t suggest using them for indoor traction for any period of time.Eli12

We got these for our parents dog because everywhere they can take him out in the winter has giant chunks of salt that really bother his paws. The top of the boots are very tight! Be very careful if your dog has sore legs or paws, don't put these on unless you cut the tops to let up some pressure. I bought the Lg size for a pit bull and they fit well besides being tight at the top. Unfortunately the dog we got them for had a bad experience, within a few minutes they were hurting him, and even more to get them off. They should be fine now that we cut them but hoping he will have forgotten the unpleasant experience by next winter. We tried the same ones on our small dog and they were tight on his legs which were half the size or less of the pitbulls. If your dog has very arthritic legs or paws, or even if they're sensitive you may want to get the more permanent type boots that are more gentle to get on/offcatelynprovos-0

We did notice however she spent all her free time trying to herd our other dog. We got her this and took to it immediately, she absolutely loves this. It is so wonderful to find a toy that she finally enjoys! And might save our other dog from constantly being herded. She herded it with her nose from the start rather than her teeth, so the issue of it getting sharp from chewing is not a problem for her.Alex

We throw this sucker on a tennis court and it won't break, the only complaint I have that isn't the balls fault but maybe you should think about before you buy this one is that our boys face gets very bloody pushing this around. So we looked into Holly's soft version and we will be getting that one shortly. My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. I got our first ball second hand, through a family friend. My dog absolutely loved it, but it was a bit too big for him. I got my puppy (now 1.5 yrs) a small and medium ball to see which size would be better. The medium is the perfect one! He enjoys playing with it every day! He loves it. It's his outdoor toy. He would go all day if we let him. We've had it for about 3 years now and it's pretty sun faded and has plenty of teeth marks in it. Also started developing a crack on the one hole, but otherwise its been incredibly durable. My partner can kick it hard across the yard in steel toes and it hasn't broken yet (that's probably what the crack is from). It has caused his gums to bleed a handful of times so maybe beware of that just because of the hard plastic if your pup is a tough chewer/biter, but otherwise my dog would literally kill for this toy. I read these other reviews where the dogs go wild for the toy! I have three dogs at home, and none were interested in this toy. They were excited until I threw the ball on the ground. They all took turns pawing at it, and within 45 seconds the dogs were playing with the old toys. The toy itself is built well. The plastic outer ball seems chew-resistant and the inner ball seems sturdy. There is no issue with the toy itself, but my dogs did not fit the status quo in enjoying this selection.KatieMD

You needed a bigger size. Generally, I would recommend sizing up once or twice anyway. The smaller ones are too small and not as thick of material therefore easier for any size dog to tear up. Additionally, if the toy isn’t full of snacks, take it away. Don’t let them chew on the toy itself just as a chew toy. That is another reason why the toy may get damaged. If the dog is focused on getting the snack out, they’ll be much less focused on destructive behaviors and tearing things apart. If you have a puppy, remember they teethe and it HURTS. They self sooth by chewing. Give them things it’s okay to chew on/destroy like Nyla bones (which seriously last forever even in strong determined breeds). Last thing to mention, is that if you really want to go with indestructible, prefer something that’ll keep them busy for a lot longer periods of time, then get the weighted feeder kong balls. I put some dog food into ours along with some soft small very strong smelling treats and my dogs work on this for HOURS. It’s how they get their meals or at least part of their meal each day. You can fed the whole meal this way if you want. They come in different sizes but the biggest size has worked perfectly for all of my dogs (weights range from 35 to 150lbs). They knock it over and the snack or treat falls out of a little hole. Then they keep working on it little by little, it’s really a great option for keeping them distracted! Just be sure to take it away when they’re not using it anymore so they don’t learn to guard it. This is true with any toy, treat, bone, or food. Offer a few times a day then take away when they’re no longer interested. Free feeding is one of the worst habits to start and makes it difficult for owners to tell quickly when something is off with their pet. I learned this the hard way! (Google this if you don’t believe me) I would still consider these Kong balls to be indestructible IF you use them properly. I have huge, strong dogs, a sharp toothed and very busy heeler and both have had theirs for 4 years without incident and not even a puncture mark into either one. I filled with “mini” milk bones and broken in half “small” milk bones but just read another reviewer said they freeze theirs with pnut butter and treats inside. Sounds messy but sounds like a great idea! Cant wait to try! Hope this helps!Momzymo

Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

This is the old classic rubber Kong dog toy. I have the regular size and the small size for my boxer and for my Boston terrier. Its shape causes it to bounce in random directions. My dog absolutely loves this toy. I've put everything in that thing. I have broken up some single ingredient treats and stuffed them in Kong. We refer to my dogs as having ADHD, or a very SHORT attention span, but not with this toy they absolutely love it!! . I put treats as well as peanut butter bananas or yogurt then put them in the freezer. The freezing slows down their ability to clean out the inside quickly so the game lasts a little longer. The rubber is hard enough so they cannot chew through it yet soft on their teeth and gums. The hole is large enough to easily fill the inside as well as wash out the inside after use. Definitely buy multiples so that there are some in the freezer ready to go on those hot days or on those days that you just need a little time to get something done while your dog is occupied. All in all I completely recommend these toys for all dogs of any shape and size.Ysabel

About 2-3 years ago, I bought a pair of these booties for my golden retriever-mix service dog, Maggie. We live in northern Minnesota & have snow from November thru, um, April so Maggie needs paw protection often & in significant snow/sale. Previously I purchased cheaper boots for her but they always fell off or their material was too flimsy. I have learned that you get what you pay for with these quality paw protectors with the non-skid yet bendable "soles". Most importantly, tho, is that Ultra Paws have TWO (2) Velcro bands securing the boots to the dog paw. The booties do NOT fall off when you slide them on & tighten the Velcro correctly. When we are out & about, Maggie often gets stopped as people check out her fashionable boots. Numerous times I have been asked about the booties' performance, durability — & most importantly — whether they stay on. I enthusiastically endorse Ultra Paws! One set of the booties is worth the price of 2 cheap sets. When there is snow outside & Maggie wants to go for a walk, she sees me approach her with the mitts & lets me put them on her paws. Okay, first off I didn't buy these through Smartpak (they didn't carry them.) I bought them years ago through Amazon. My boxer pup and I hike hundreds of miles every year. However, one year she was having trouble building up her callouses, so I got a set of these. Since then they never leave my pack while we are out and about. They are so useful it is foolish to not have a set. Did you pup cut their paw, no problem. Did you go too far and the pup has sore feet, problem solved. I have a Large 90 lbs Weimaraner, and the Size Large and they fit perfectly. The black part is nice and thick BUT NOT Hard like some other boots, so they are comfortable on his paws. It only took him like maybe 10 minutes to get used to them. Mostly because he LOOVES to go outside, so I just side tracked him by opening the front door so he was to excited about going outside, he didnt have time to really concentrate on these new weird things on his feet. I bought this food 2 weeks ago because my dog has been picky about her food for months now. I have tried Hills Science, Purina Pro, Blue Buffalo – all puppy dry food. I think she really doesn’t like the chicken taste so I thought I’d try something different. From the start when I was phasing out the old food with the new she was way more interested in eating. She also stopped biting her arms which I thought was due to a seasonal allergy but now think it was actually a food allergy. I’m really satisfied with the food! We’ve been feeding Taste of the Wild Appalachian for small dogs for about a year now after switching to about 10 different brands. He loves it. The kibble is small, and the food is palatable and healthy. I wish the small kibble was available in fish and sweet potato too, but this has some fish in it. It’s a great choice in food for a very picky little dog. Now if he would only stop chewing his feet. This is new and been going on for about a year or so. So I’m wondering if it’s connected to the food in any way.Remy

RedBarn's Bully Slices and Choppers (dried bef lung) are now the top two treats my crazy red heeler prefers. She's even stopped barking so much at the UPS guy when he delivers packages now bc she knows he's the one who brings them. Her previous "I wanna rip out the UPS guy's throat" bark has softened to a "Mom!!! My treats are here! Mom, my friend brought more treats!!! Open the door, open the door!" I've learned that Great Danes tend to be sensitive to poultry and grain, this food has neither. My Dane pup is now 165lbs at oneand a half and I mix this food with the adult version now for him. My only recommendation would be a slightly larger kibble size but Im well puppies his size are not the only ones eating this food. My Dane tends to eat around the smaller kibble at first and when he coughs, those little pieces shoot out of his liver lips like a blunder bust all over the kitchen – quite comical I must admit!K98M48

We only buy Blue Buffalo for our pets!!! Our two cats have loved Blue Buffalo food for years; we’ve transitioned them from kitten formula to adult to a weight control formula and they won’t eat anything else. So obviously we wanted to stick with the brand when we adopted our puppy a few weeks ago. We bought the Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe and followed the humane society’s instructions and mixed it half and half with the brand they gave us to transition the puppy. He literally picked out the Wilderness pieces and left the other stuff in his bowl on the FIRST DAY! Our new Alaskan Malamute (our 3rd one) started with the Large Breed Blue Chicken w/ Brown Rice but seemed to keep on having diarrhea. We decided to change to the Blue Wilderness with Real Beef and as of the second week on beef, she has not had any more diarrhea. She loved the chicken but now loves her beef. I bought the small toppls and my two cavaliers love them. I've used it at dinner time with soft foods and some chopped up pieces of prime100 and it kept them busy for a good 7-ish minutes (which is much longer than the few seconds it usually takes them to practically inhale their food). I love that it can be used with kibble as well as a treat dispenser (although you need to buy two different sized ones to do this). Overall very impressed, but I would recommend waiting until they're on sale to buy.smp

These are amazing. We're in the process of diagnosing some GI issues with our 8 month puppy, and she's on a very limited diet and can't have any treats, chews or bones. It's a terrible age to not be able to give anything but prescription food. She can't be trusted with soft toys or rope toys, and has no interest in kongs or other rubber things. These are perfect for keeping her busy. We pack her kibble and some wet food in them and freeze them. They take her a good 30 minutes or more to finish, and she has yet to damage one. Plus, they're super easy to clean. I just throw them in the dishwasher!Michelle

This is awesome for feeding frozen raw! My lab just loves to work at getting her frozen dinner out and it takes her ages to eat. (In a normal bowl, it would be hoovered up within seconds). Easily takes up to 130g raw.pages_unread

FYI: I can’t figure out the difference between this and the small breed version, other than the size of the bag available. Maybe the kibble is slightly smaller for the small breed version, but not by much. Do yourself a favour and buy this one instead – unless you have a micro teacup dog. Also, my dog really likes the raw bits. She eats those first, and then settles on the rest of the kibble later in the day. I have no idea if this is good food or not. I was using small amounts of this as an easy way to supplement my dog’s diet while traveling. She is usually on a full fresh/frozen raw diet. This kibble, even a small amount mixed with freeze-died raw primal nuggets made her have loose poops. First the Pros: this harness is durable and I have no doubt it is strong and durable enough to hold my 70lb pittie when needed. It also does a great job of keeping her from pulling when using the chest loop. We love the Ruffwear brand and I (and my dogs) love the sweaters/clothing as they are always cold in temps below 70°. Cons: I watched the video on fitting the harness and every single walk results in raw skin/bleeding/scabs under her armpits (she has very thin fur on her underside) due to the material of the harness rubbing in this area. I also find the buckles a bit difficult to unclip as they are partially hidden inside the attachment area which means you have to squeeze the buckle through the thick harness material to release the clasp. Because of my love of their other products and the front clip feature, I may try to put some padding or softer material in the underarm area to see if that helps.Melissa S.

For the most part I really like this harness. The construction seems sturdy and the color is nice, and it’s very easy to get on and off. That said, I think it could be improved by lengthening the body (the neck to back, if you will). I have two mixed breed dogs who are very similar in shape, size, and weight. I purchased two of these harnesses, one in extra small and one in small. The small is overall a bit too large around, and the small (although ok for girth) is way too short. I am always trying to keep an eye on their underarms and backs of their elbows to make sure they aren’t getting raw spots. I’ve seen the same issue in other reviews, so I don’t think it’s just my dogs. I would also love it if you could purchase extenders in different sizes, because I think often a smaller size is better all around, but doesn’t extend in girth quite enough, while the next size up is too big. The good still outweighs the not perfect though, and I keep coming back to Ruffwear to buy different styles of harnesses!Samantha N.

I saw this harness at my local REI and without knowing anything about the brand or how it would impact my life, I knew it was “cute”. I bought it for my mischievous lab puppy who weighed around 50 lbs at the time, solely for that reason. The cute factor. I then came here and ordered the Ruffwear Knot-a-leash rope dog leash to match. We used the harness and leash combo for about a week, when my fearless puppy decided to show me how well it works. I was driving on the freeway, and while waiting in traffic to exit on the off ramp, I opened my back windows for her to get some fresh air. She was clipped to a cheap “doggie seatbelt clip” so she was secure, or so I thought. I hadn’t noticed that she had un-clipped herself from the seatbelt until the moment I saw her jump right out the car window, and disappear from my view. She wasn’t trained at the time and would make a run for it anytime possible. I panicked picturing my dog running into freeway traffic and being hit, but to my disbelief I found her hanging off the car window, being securely help in place by this harness and the rope leash that was still inside the car. The impact of her weight combined with the momentum of the jump, did nothing but dent the locking system of the carabiner shut, and held her weight without letting her escape or even touch the ground for that matter, and not a single rip happened to either the harness or the leash otherwise. This “expensive, but cute” dog accessory prevented my dog from a terrifying death that would have surely happened had she not been wearing both of these incredible, life-saving items. Thank you, Ruffwear, for making such amazing products that are truly life saving. I owe my dog’s life to you guys and I am forever grateful for that.Sabrina
