Really please with how this fits my 5 month old lab. The only thing is that they run very small size wise. My guy only weighs 36 pounds and the medium fits him perfectly even though he is rated for the small. Decided to go larger with the medium in hopes that he could have some room for growing. I have an English setter that would run himself to death if he could so he is very long and .lanky for a 50lb dog. The 3 velcro straps over the back gave the right amount of flexibility to fit him when he sheds weight around the waist during season. Nicely made, and good looking product. Sizing is a little tough. Based on other reviews and the weight options, I chose a Large. Probably should have stuck with a Medium. My GSP is pretty tall and lean, and weighs in at 65 lbs. The first time out, his underarms were worn pretty raw. The Large is a little long for him, and gave the impression my pup had a wedgie! I thought it was a great fit for our very hard to fit Chesapeake Bay Retriever. On our first hunt at our Hunt club with this vest on Thanksgiving Day, the last strap ripped from the seam. This is a really good chest protector with the added neoprene. My 80+ pound lab fits the large just perfect but my small 40 pound pup is not big enough across the chest for the medium. There is a area that can be trimmed for the leg area without cutting into the threads but I elected to not cut it and wait for his chest to expand a bit. All and all this is a great protector for the price. I ordered one for a lab and liked it so much I bought another for him. However the first one I bought had full Velcro like the picture shows. The 2nd one I got has intermittent pieces which doesn't strap down as well as the full Velco. This was the only reason I did 4 stars instead of 5..Brushwhacker

Ran this vest through the season and it was great, keep the dog warm and the handle for getting the dog in a boat, blind, or truck was great. Now after running the dog quite a few days of phesant hunting thick cover the velcro to attach the bottom to the top has severed off where the flaps are sewed together. I've used vests with front leg openings and straps. Found hard to get the dog suited up and found hard to adjust the straps. Also these types of vest are restrictive and will rub off hair. This vest is easily attached to the dog using your fluorescent orange collar and only one belly strap. However the strap will not hold adjustment and slides causing the cape to slide. Easy fix once the size is adjusted sew it fast and no more problem for this effective inexpensive vest.Bozeman

Bought my 5lb toy poodle one in small. Loved the idea of the fleece vest with a ring to attach a leash so you don’t have to put a harness over it. However, the sizing is weird. I've used this product in the past , the only issue I have is that for HPR breeds you have to alter the vest around the neck and leg hole areas to the fit the dog correctly. Not an easy task. Its a shame these breeds aren,t considered more in product construction. No issue with supplier, new forest clothing , 10 out of 10 for service etc.David B.

It's a good product for the price. One thing i would say is that the size chart may not be accurate based on weight alone. My dog is a German Wired hair pointer and is 65 lbs, so I ordered the large and he probably could have worn a medium because of his thin waist. In any event we just went out and bought a strip of velcro and added it to the vest. Problem solved. This vest is great for living in the woods it keeps my dog very visible to us and any hunters that could be in the area, so it's a great safety item.pmne
The ONLY thing that's good about this vest is the color. The design is awful!!! Even though the vest is anchored to the dog's collar, the vest CONSTANTLY slides around so it is riding on one side of the dog. I have a large male dog so I bought the large sized vest for him. The strap that goes under his belly is too far back because of the length of the vest so he frequently soaks the vest side or the strap when he urinates. I have had to sew the straps because they apparently designed these for dogs who are built like pigs. My dogs are big but not fat so the straps would not fit snugly until sewed but even then, the vests do not stay in place. I would definitely NOT waste my time or money on this product again!!!Fighter
