These are quieter than standard clippers, although not noiseless, and with a few of my horses, these are the only clippers they will let me use. I used them on a 2 year old who had never been clipped successfully, and after letting her listen to them for a minute, I was able to walk up and pet her shoulder before giving her whiskers a good clean up. I got this for a gift from my brothers standard poodle who takes out to run all the time and play, well it just happened that one day Kole went through a bush of burs and had them stuck all through him and the only way 5o get them off was to shave him because it was so bad. I used these clippers and they are so quiet and just slid right through his fur and some matts he had due to the thickness of his fur with no problem at all. I have gotten 2 seperate sets of these. the first one didnt cut hair at all it just ripped the fur out. i even tried it on myself and it ripped the hair out rather than cutting it. the second pair wouldnt cut with a guard on so when the guard was removed it was cutting fine but grabbed and tore my dogs skin open. whal is a great company but they definitely missed the mark with this onewilliam
To start off, these clippers are very noisy. The on/off switch is stiff and sometimes when I turn it on, it makes a loud noise and shutts off. For some reason the different comb lengths are difficult to get on and off. They cut some of my dog's fur and sone it does not cut. They got caught in a matt and would not cut through it. I had to grab scissors and cut through the matt. They also get hot fast. I followed the manufacturers insteuctions very closely. I should return them but because I have used them I will keep them but I will be going to another store and purchase Andis which seems to be the choice of most groomers. I do not recommend.Gramma

It’s worth buying 2 & switching them out as they get hot when doing a large animal like my 90 lb dog. They get hot & it’s uncomfortable against the dog’s skin. The clippers have never “over heated” on me or stopped working, but the dogs tolerate it best when it’s not hot to the touch. I keep my air compressor going & blow the clippers out, spray it quickly with the cooling/lubricant spray & switch to the next pair….back & forth. Works beautifully. These are awesome clippers. My first pair lasted 18 years, and that's a pretty good track record clipping many house dogs and show horses. They get hot, so you need to work fast, and I buy Oster Cool Lube to spray on them during the breaks in clipping sessions to help cool them off. You can also buy other blades to change out quickly when the blades get hot. Blades come in different numbers, the higher the number the closer the clippers shave the hair to the skin. I have at least two sets of each numbered blade so when one set it off being sharpened, I have a blade to use. I keep a set of four #10 blades as I use those the most. The blade drive needs to be perfectly aligned to change blades, and can take several tries. I don’t think it was really meant to swap blades. I'm not a professional groomer. I've taken my Lhasa to get professionally groomed for the first 15 years of her life, then the pandemic hit, shuttering her groomer's place of work. After 8 weeks without a haircut, she couldn't see because of her hair and her hair all over was getting out of control. I'm glad I was able to snag these! They worked very well, and didn't get hot (and I was clipping for quite some time since my pup is a wiggler!). The noise wasn't overly loud – it sounded no louder than my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. My dog didn't mind the noise. They were easy to use after watching some YouTube tutorials. The one downside is the "instruction booklet" was not very helpful. It only contained the standard warnings and some graphics that don't really aid the user in telling me how to remove the blade to clean it (I'm still trying to figure that one out) I would definitely recommend these if you want to clip your dog at home. When I feel comfortable with her going to the groomer again, I definitely plan to take her back to the pros, but in the meantime, these work to carry me over and for in-between visits to the salon.MomOfLhasa
The razor got the job done on my super “hairy/fuzzy” dog. I don’t know her breed but the coat is very thick and matted. I order a different blade, (7 skip tooth), and was pleased. I am a dog groomer and I went to classes for dog grooming. I bought this product to help and review it for people. My final say is this is an excellent piece when used correctly. I use correctly very heavily. For this to work on your dog and to get an even cut you MUST use a de-shedding tool. They are found in many different forms but most commonly a simple rake or dog brush it long enough teeth will do. You'll need to thoroughly brush out the loose undercoat otherwise the blades of even the most professional clippers will get tangled and caught. THE FUR MUST BE DRY. Also you need to go WITH the fur not against this will cause a poor cut. Finally the blades will heat up, either do the more sensitive areas of the dog fist, or get a second blade so you can interchange them while one cools. NO matter which way you deal with heated blades ALWAYS ALWAYS A L W A Y S USE BLADE OIL!! its as simple as running a small amount of oil over the blades of cleaned unmoving blades and brushing it through with an old tooth brush. cleaning the blades can be done with a toothbrush aswell. I purchased this to groom my dog who is part Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever/Doberman Pinscher. He weighs about 65 lbs. I would have taken him to our Petco groomer, but recently had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor and when they called us to get him in, he had just had his stitches out and wanted him to heal more. Absolutely love this grooming kit. My dog usually attacks vacuums, but this device is so quiet that he actually allowed me to use it on him. He even wagged his tail and came back up to me to get groomed again. Incredible. I started off brushing him with the vacuum off, but after a minute or two, turned it on. He barely reacted. The suction is really good, and the comb attachment allows you to retract the tines so that the hair gets sucked in without much effort. I'm also going to use this as a car vacuum, so I'm absolutely thrilled with my purchase.
I was skeptical of buying this because of the affordable price. I was wrong!! It is the most amazing pet grooming tool I have ever bought. This thing is a life saver. I groomed my persian in 10 min. It is so easy to use, fast and efficient. I don’t have to worry about cutting the skin at all. It literally sucks all the hair up and you have zero mess. I am still in shock how well this worked and how affordable it is. My cat was scared of it at first but within five min she was more comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

Works well, the combs give an even trim. If your dog has long fur I would recommend using thinning shears first and the Scaredy Cut, otherwise your fingers will wear out before your done. But once your get rid of the long fur it works great tho evenly trim, even with curly fur. The second cut my dog even let me use it on her muzzle which was surprising.dorso2015
I haven't been able to groom my yorkie for 4 years. He gets very nervous even at the sound of scissors cutting. I was able to give him a full groom and the smaller scissors that came with it were amazing! Was so easy to trim around his ears and eyes. There were a few times the scaredy cut scissors seemed to clank together loudly and that made my dog nervous, but he got used to it all of it nd just stood there for me. It was great!xmockingjayx88
The scissors feel very sturdy. The finger/thumb holes are a little small, someone with large hands would have trouble. I found the more I used the scissors the easier and more confident I was in clipping the hair. Don't expect to be perfect right from the start. I would recommend this product.karenm

These clippers are no different than any others you can purchase. The supposed ''quick sensor' is nothing more than a metal slide which is included on most clippers. The word 'sensor' leads one to believe there is some electronic feature that allows the owner to see the quick so as not to cut too close to it and that could not be farther from the truth.
