this product comes with instructions but not written from someone who speaks english. you have to read it over and over. the parts do not fit in your window without you adding pieces of lumber to elevate the part and the plastic slide has to be cut or the other parts will not attach to it. the fan levels are a joke?? the noise omg hope you have ear plugs for night time.???? the machine does not cool down a room even under the size stated. This must be the single WORST purchase i have made in a VERY long time… for several reasons. Firstly, the thing never really cooled strait out of the box. I ordered it for a SMALL room, simply to assist with my Mother-In-Law who has a medical condition and needs a cooler environment than we do. Initially i though we set it up wrong (not the case) or it was the large windows that directly faced the sun during the hottest part of the day (not the case). It simply never really put out cooled air, and being 100% honest was not much more than an electricity guzzling fan! Furthermore, after just 8 days the stupid thing STOPPED putting out cool air AT ALL and was in fact… just a fan. I was beyond myself, as we all know things are difficult right now and this is not a cheap purchase. I obviously wanted to return it…. right? HA! So not only does it come with a card saying "Do not return to store, contact us", but when attempting to do so I NEVER REACHED ANYONE AND NEVER GOT A RESPONSE BACK! Well, I figured Walmart is always so good about returns and usually makes it so easy I would just go that route. Not this time. It seemed as if it was going to be a breeze… standard options for return or replacement, offering free pickup, etc… until you get to the "fine print" specific to this item. *Must be in original packaging, fully IN TACT" which doesn't seem like a big deal except for you have to pull the box apart to get it out in the first place, as it is designed that way. So when i drug this heavy thing out to physically return it (hoping to avoid any issue that may arise with a carrier they send) with all parts, in it's original box that I had to tape back together… I WAS TURNED AWAY AT THE COUNTER because the box was "not in tact" and it could not be re-sold that way. OMG. Re-sold? IT DIDN'T WORK! Bought this AC last year and thought it was a good substitute for a window unit since my window wouldn’t be totally blocked. It worked “ok” last year, it never fully cooled the room but it was passable. Because I never used the dehumidifier setting I didn’t have to place a drain . Set the unit up this season, same thing. I purchased this unit for a room that is approx. 16×16. It replaced a older Sanyo system I had that went out. It was an easy set up and mount for the interior unit,. Had a HVAC guy do the final line connections. We've used it multiple times in the month or so that its been up and running and its be great so far. In comparison, I purchased a Pioneer system last year in another room I have and this Senville is far superior. It puts out far more power for cooling and heating. The packaging was genius, except if you needed it when your ac quits after 1 month, to finding the kinda plastic straps that they use is impossible. And it seems no refund without packaging. Who keeps packaging for more than a week? Once the stuff works, why keep the box. You'd need a warehouse for all the boxes. Just bought this unit SLACHT128 on Ebay last week (01-09237-12099) and started using two days ago. No issues yet. I bought it's little sister the SLACHT108 10000 btu model six (6) weeks ago and was able to test the heat function this month when it was in the 40s outside. so impressed with the heat function I ordered this higher btu model. So far Ive been able to ditch mult floor space heaters and just use the one of these to maintain approx 2/3 of my downstairs (1000sf) at 72 degrees. With this second one downstairs I'm expecting to be able to use as primary heat for 3000sf since heat rises upstairs. This is also a year where I want electric heat and not rely on expensive natural gas furnace for heatbrbog-53

Just got this AC today and I am completely happy with it. With the temperature being over 90 degrees outside, this AC unit completely cooled my room and I only set it to 70 degrees. After about 2 hours it was just too cold in my room so I had to turn up the temp (that's a good thing). My previous AC never got this cold and this unit cools all the way down to 60 degrees! Even with 100 degree weather outside I can't imagine ever using this AC at it's coldest setting. So far I am very pleased 🙂rolandj777

Arrived a few days ago and set it up in my bedroom had to remove it and close the window because of the smell of rotting vegetation I thought was coming from outside. Moved it into the kitchen today now the whole house stinks like rotting vegetation. I put a pan under to drain, and removed the lower and upper plugs. Not a lot of water in the pan less than a quarter cup. I removed the back filter and can see water inside. I have to put it outside it smells so bad, Even Lysol Neutra Air which works on skunk isn't helping. I can't use this.

I was trying to figure out where to send my photo showing how I use my Mark 2, I saw photos on your website from users. I think it’s a pretty unique use. We are allowed to bring pets to work and our office is normally really hot during the summer months. My dog Brigham (female black lab) constantly pants because she is to hot. Even fans would not help. This product is a life saver. Literally. Now she gets a nice cool breeze and barely moves from her bed that sits under my desk. Purchased this air conditioner/heater brand new after my factory refurbished Hisense portable AC fried its control board after a month. I was hoping to get an air conditioner that would last me a few years before failing. Unfortunately, though the packaging arrived in pristine condition, when I opened the box there was oily refrigerant all over the outside of the unit. I nevertheless unboxed it and completed the installation. I tested it twice, in hour long increments, and it failed to cool the room a single degree even though it was only about 80 degrees. Walmart has a great return policy, of course, and I was able to easily return it for a refund. But I am a little disappointed that the quality control was so bad: I mean there was oily refrigerant everywhere, it did not appear to be a slow leak! I just hope that it gets factory refurbished and doesn't end up as more brand-new junk in a landfill!Giancarlo
Had never heard of this brand before, but it had good reviews here, so I bought it. It's great, and blows very cold air! It's loud, but any AC unit is going to be loud. I love the remote control too. The biggest issue is the exhaust hose should be twice as long to really qualify this as 'portable'. That would have allowed me to place it away from my bed and the window a little more. Hands down the best cooling portable ac/heating unit I have ever purchased. I have been using this unit to cool my 13 x 15 ft bedroom and my 10 x 14 bathroom. I keep the rest of my home at 76* all the time but when I go to bed I turn this baby on and within 10-15 minutes, my two rooms are at a perfect 72* sleeping degrees! I have an 1800 sq. ft. home so it would take 4 of these units if I went that way, but for now as it is here almost at the end of June in Florida, my most recent electric bill was $156. I'll take that any day!! The unit is a little louder than I had hoped, but I have gotten use to the noise. It's definately worth the money and it is a wonderful unit. I do wish the warranty was more than 1 year, but that seems to be average for portable units. Make sure if you purchase this unit that you clean the two filter screens located in the rear of the unit once a month for optimal perforfance. This is crucial for these portables as this effects the cooling system and must be kept clean. It takes less than 10 minutes once a month and I simply vacuum my filters zippity quick. If the filters are clogged with dust, then the unit cannot get the proper air to the compressor to cool the air before sending it out through the top front vents. I cannot stress the importance of keeping these filters clean from dust. Take care of that and this baby will take care of you for many years to come4SOK

Let me start by saying the warranty is as advertised, no professional technician is required on install to validate the warranty. I have been using this for about 6 months and it works flawlessly for the most part about 2 months after installing it the outside unit threw an error code and stopped functioning. I contacted support who immediately sent a replacement unit that has worked except when i installed the replacement unit the lines froze over and caused the interior head to freeze over as well. I am unsure why as this is a brand new unit. I have had it in heat mode only for the duration of winter without this issue happening again. But don't get me wrong. for the price this is just fine! I ended up buying a second one for the bedroom and it works awesome! shop around Costco had these units for 500 less than competitors. These units are sleek and super easy to install. My wife's grandma had a mini split installed by a HVAC company for about 10 grand and hers are ugly and look as if they are from the 1980's. That being said the 2500 i spent on these and they function and look way better than the 10 grand install my wife's grandmother did. It really is as easy as they say. I highly recommend it. There warranty was super simple to use and it is a DIY warranty they will replace the unit no matter what, all they ask is to send the defective unit back! great product! I spend a lot of time in my garage and was heating it with a pellet stove and kerosene heaters and found that to be time consuming and expensive. I don't usually keep it heated when I am not using it so to heat the garage it takes time to get the pellet stove running and for the garage to heat up. So I bought the Mrcool 36000 diy mini split. I am a Electo- Mechanical Technician so the install was simple for me but this unit is heavy so I suggest help and to consult an electrician on your local codes. The install took about two and a half hours with help not encluding the electrical which I had done on the previous day and it could not be any simpler. The hardest part is hanging the airhandler thats where you need help pulling the tubing through plus i installed the condenser on a side mount bracket and needed help lifting it on. After the install I turned it on and could not believe how quite and hot the air was. I also tested the cooling and now will have the coolest garage in town. The ability to control this unit using the app on my android phone from anywhere is great. I can turn the unit on before I got into the garage and have it heated or cold and ready to go. I suggest this unit to anyone who needs to heat a garage or larger area. The only thing that could be improved on is that this unit requires a 35 amp circuit feeding it and the electrical terminals in the outside unit are to small for 8 awg wire so most do it yourselfers are not going to have the equipment to crimp on the one hole connectors required to make the connection so an electrician might be required to do the connection.Wryzhunter
We got a 2-ton unit for the main part of the house last spring to replace a dead central AC unit that was forty years old. Installed it myself, which cost about a third of what a professional HVAC companies were quoting me. I was worried about failure and warranty coverage, and everybody in the industry tells lies about how bad mini-splits are. They have a HUGE revenue-generating and mature business model they are trying to protect. Don't fall for it. Everything negative they said about mini-splits was a lie. Not only is a MrCool mini split easy to install, it is SO quiet you will not even know it's running, and one unit cooled the whole living area of our house, all summer long. We liked it so well we decided to get a 1-ton unit for our master suite, since it is on the east-wing of our home, away from the central living space. Plus there's an office/gym space with it (converted 4th bedroom) that had a window air in it that worked pretty well, but our bedroom would be too warm on the very hottest nights. So MrCool to the rescue once again. We dumped the old window air and got a mini-split to take over cooling of the entire area. The 12k BTU (1-ton) model is 110/120volt powered, which makes it easy to either route a circuit to it or utilize a lesser used existing one. Units should really have their own dedicated circuit, but it's even easier getting a 110v circuit run. Same deal, it is so quiet you can't even hear it, even when sleeping under it. You do need to point it away from you though or it will freeze you out. LOL All of my worries about installing one successfully, running it, and living with one, were without merit. This has to be THE very best investment/improvement to our home in the 25 years we've lived in it. Plus these two units ended up costing me one-fourth of what the pro's quoted for a new central air system. And yeah, our bill went up in the hottest months, but as soon as we weren't running them 24-7 it dropped right back down. The level of comfort was way worth it. Now, over winter, the hidden benefit of these two MrCool units is that they are a HEAT PUMP compressor so we get nice dry and warm heat to supplant our central gas-furnace. Same deal, they are so quiet you don't even hear them running. And once up to temp the compressor unit (outside part) shuts off and the air handler goes virtually to sleep, just barely turning. I am renovating a small cottage home that was built in 1957. The attic is only about 2' tall at the apex and is very little room to run duct work. The house originally had 3 window units and in wall heaters that we never used due to in my opinion being major fire hazards. We saw this unit and decided to give it a try since I had already torn out the walls and needed something to replace the old window units. I have had some experience with HVAC and electrical work so I didn't find it that difficult to run the necessary tubing or wires although it was still a chore to get it routed through the attic and out to the outside compressor unit. The only complaint I have is there is no good way to secure or hide the excess tubing that is left between the units. I will probably have to build a box to hide them so it doesn't look so unsightly. The operation of the units themselves are excellent? I did have one issue with one of the wifi controllers not working but customer service was very quick in sending me a new one and all is well. I love the ability to control the units remotely since this will be a weekend / summer home but I still need to provide some climate control to prevent mold due to the humidity buildup. In the last month of having these units installed my electric bill has decreased drastically now that I don't have to run a window unit constantly to maintain the humidity and temperature in an appropriate level.Ed L.
I don’t typically do reviews but I felt like my experience with this product is one worth sharing. Anyone looking for an inexpensive way to condition a garage, workshop, sunroom or any space that needs a little help should consider a Mrcool DYI mini split. I installed this in my wood shop manly to help control humidity and cool the space during the summer. The instructions are easy to follow and the system is easy to install if you have any mechanical aptitude. The 12k system is light enough for one person to handle and it took me a full day to complete the install which included adding the line set cover kit. So far the system is working great. Both the interior air handler and the exterior compressor are very quiet. I intended to purchase this unit trough Amazon but noticed it shipped from Ingrams Water and Air so I reached out to them via their website to get a quote and was able to save some money. The order process was easy and they got it shipped out within a few days. The unit arrived via UPS in two boxes that are well packed. The Mr Cool system is unbeatable as a DIY guy. I was leary since I have no HVAC experience but after watching others do the install on you tube I decided I could do this! The units arrived really fast from Premium Home Source and I immediately noticed how professionally the components were packed. You could easily tell that Mr Cool takes pride in their product. I've owned this less than 24 hours, so haven't figured out all its quirks yet. I have the previous version of this model and was really pleased with it, but needed a second unit for the other side of the house and liked the way this model's cold air delivery was from the top. The good: it definitely does the job. I've got it in a 10 x 12' room and it's beautifully cool in there after an hour or so despite starting out at over 30 C. The oscillation feature is nice, and it's far quieter than the previous model. The not so good: the exhaust hose is NOT fun to work with. There's a bracket is supposed to fit over either end, neither goes on very well and they've both popped off several times. The bracket that fixes the hose onto the unit clips into place and is very difficult to get off, and the hot air leaks around it. The window adapter doesn't fit very well in sliding windows, it's in there but hardly secure. As soon as you try to move one end of the hose the other end will come apart. Also, the remote control needs to be shut off when you're done using it (by pressing the same power button as turns off the machine, just make sure it isn't pointed at the machine) and some features only work via the remote, like changing Fahrenheit to Celsius. None of these things were in the directions, which seem to be poorly translated. Also, the labels on the remote are very difficult to read due to their size and colours. Overall: I'll be keeping it and I'm sure it'll give me lots of use, but the exhaust hose really ought to be more user friendly. The older model has a bracket that clips on and off the back of the unit, no issue. This one may require duct tape.prairielilly
I used the LG LP0817WSR in a small, enclosed media equipment closet to keep everything cool (tons of amplifiers, mixers, processors, etc.). I used a smart outlet to turn it on and off when the media equipment was power cycled. I extended the exhaust with the help of an in-line duct fan which also turned on and off with the media equipment. Everything worked great for about 4 years, but now the LG portable air conditioner won't blow cool air anymore. There are no error indications on the screen and it seems like it's working fine (no funny noises, etc.), but it only pumps out warm air, now. I read on a forum that a lot of portable ACs simply run out of freeon, but that it's usually cheaper to simply replace the them than to have freeon added. I haven't pulled it out of the media closet to thoroughly inspect and troubleshoot it, but I'm pretty upset that I'll even need to.Reaxions
It gets cold almost right away when you turn it on which always feels great. I use it in my RV & I’m not sure how many square feet it is exactly (it’s a 36’ 5th wheel), but I assume with a 200sqft rating it could cool the entire place. In all honesty it really cant or if it can it needs to stay on 24/7. It mostly keeps the whole bottom section cooled down but really does nothing for bedroom if it’s down there. If I bring it up to the bedroom area it’ll cool that area down extremely quickly.Claraples
