I purchased the x-tra-large harness. It was very loose on my dog even though he has the right dimensions for that size. After spending an inordinate amount of time adjusting the straps we had a good fit. However, he very quickly, by wiggling around a bit, loosened the straps back up. I tightened them up again, only for them to become too loose. Once he even got out if the harness! While in the car! Not happy. My dog is a pitty and he weighs 75 lbs.Debra
Harness came quick and was easy to adjust. I would highly recommend it. Only 4 stars because of a couple minor issues. The first is when at its smallest adjustments, the extra strap hangs loose. Not a big deal but with my puppy, she can then grab it to chew on. The other thing is, the two rings to attach a leash to are too far apart. Really love this seat belt. It took a bit to get it adjusted correctly and adjusting it is kind of a pain in the ass, but that one time hassle is no big deal for the safety of my dog and family. My dog is a 50 lb pit bull mix with a large chest and smaller neck and previous seatbelts i've tried were either too loose on her neck or too tight on her chest. This one has a wider range of adjustment so it fits her quite well. I wish i bought the S clip with it because my seat belt will get too tight and cause my dog to be uncomfortable.Ashley
I have 2 dogs, both have thick chests for their size and slim necks. Harnesses usually fit in either neck or chest but not both. This fit back/ chest but gaps horribly at their sides! I love this harness for our little Holly! I was so happy to find it in pink and polka dots, especially when I had been told my another retailer that it was only available in black (which I have for my boy). The only complaint is the grip clips (to hold strap adjustments looser or tighter) slip daily, but not enough to cause worry with the straps themselves slipping. Maybe those could be swapped with metal ones by the manufacturer. I highly recommend this beautiful, strong and sturdy harness for your little girl! This harness has helped my beagle puppy with both riding in the car and walking. The harness keeps her focused while on the walk and helps with controling her when she tries to run after birds. I bought the small harness for my excitable 2 year old cockapoo. The product was very easy to put on him, and it appeared to make him feel more secure during the car journey. The only problem I have encountered is with regards to the removing of the harness over his head due to the neck size. A logistical approach is required by ensuring his ears are through before pulling the harness over his head. Otherwise, it is a good fit, and keeps him safe.Mitch
This is a really cute toy, and our 12-week-old puppy loved it! The problem is, however, that she was able to detach little hunks of the loofah material from the center of the starfish within just a few sessions. The label warns of this, so we watched and threw away the chunks . . . and ultimately the whole toy before she could swallow anything. Maybe a much younger puppy would do better? I purchased this for my sister in laws Westie. We are having to take her out in the car at the moment and wanted her to be safe and secure on the back seat.I measured the dog before purchase and although the chest area was a perfect size, her head would not go through the neck part, which is fixed. I am really happy with the harness. I bought the small/medium. It is easy to put on my dog and it easily connects to the seat belt in the car and she is held securely. The tether, however, is too small. When she is in the car, she likes to lay down and the tether is too short and can't be adjusted to a long enough length.

I have to admit I was doing it all wrong until I used Happy Ride safety harness for my medium size puppy. I used to walk her with just a collar and a pull release extension so she could investigate when she wanted to. She didn’t feel safe as she would want me to pick her up and hold her as we walked.Her car rides were worse as I would just hold her to her vet and she cried the entire time! I bought this for my 70 pound Doberman puppy. He's 5 months old. I bought a size large and it fits him very well. He is not very good at riding in the car. He wants to walk all over the place and sit on my lap while I'm driving. I was worried he was going to make me wreck. His carrier is just too big to put in my 4-runner. Ive bought three sets of these now, they are the best and safest and I love them. That said I dont like the buckle system sold separately (Lookout Tether Straps) with the plastic buckles and the way the connections are. I feel if there is an epic car crash these will not hold these harnesses or any and can break off or loose. Ive looked all over trying to find a tested and strong system for smaller dogs that work with the Snoozer bed systems and the vehicles seatbelt systems. I also use the Lookout Tether Straps on the double wide Snoozer beds and oy one Chinese cresteds gets these straps all twisty around the other. There has to be a better designed systems!

Fantastic quality with very soft lining. My chihuahua puppy loves it and it is easy to strap into the car. Also not heavy to carry around even with puppy inside. I was considering buying the Sleepypod Mini but then decided it would be more spacious for my dog for when she has fully grown to go with the bigger sized , Sleepypod. You could comfortably fit 2 chihuahuas in it. I am very happy with the product and also the company I purchased from was very speedy with the delivery and came in perfect condition. The seatbelt attachment system is solid, as is the shoulder strap. The mesh parts seem durable, even to cat teeth and claws. And the entire interior plush zips out for washing. And my cat likes it! It looks like a great dog halter. This is the third halter I ve gotten for my cairn terrier mix. This one looks like he might not be able to escape. Unfortunately, it is way too small for my dog. There is only one size smaller, and I expect it is too big, also. The receipt was illegible, and I have no idea how to send the halter back. I plan to donate it to the animal shelter. I am still looking for a halter he won t escape from.
Wrong size. Trying to exchange it. The sizes are not correct. They fit large.
The harness isn't working for me but I can't send it back. My dog is a male and the back strap rides directly over his, uh, spout. He soaked it pretty good the first time out so we have to keep it. But he didn't like it either – it is pretty heavy and made him overheat. Might work for winter but I have to figure out how to modify the back strap so he can pee free.

I own this product and need to make it VERY CLEAR for owner to NOT FOLLOW THE ORVIS PHOTOS! under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the seatbelt carabiner be attached to the metal tabs!!!! It says so in the instructions, and if you watch videos, you will see it's due to being a weak point in the event of a crash/hard stop. the SAFEST attachment is to use the carabiner to attach the top webbing (which the D ring slides along) to the seatbelt. Yes, Kurgo uses a strap for "more movement" but that just creates another weak point that can break. Watch videos available from the Center For Pet Safety regarding how easily harnesses fail. regarding the rest of the harness: It's not bad for travel, but some dogs may not like how you will put it over the head. The straps can also cause itchy spots where the sewing is. I wrapped those areas with medical tape which has reduced some of the shaking and scratching my dog does. The harness is not as good at stopping pulling than another, thinner harness I use for everyday walking.JohnSmith1882
We purchased this harness in size L when Miles was 8 months old at around 70 lbs. A year and five months later, he's 88-90 lbs and the size L fits, but with no room for adjustments. (Didn't realize our border collie mix would be so large!) We've used this harness EVERY DAY for daily walks and car rides. It's great for a small person like myself to control his powerful tugs when he sees a squirrel. It's also held up well and does not rust when he wears it swimming. The harness has not molded and does not retain smell and we have washed it only a handful of times. It's also very easy to put on, if your dog allows you to slip it over their head. I then stand above him and easily hook the straps into place pulling the "bib" up underneath his belly. He does not need to step into anything. Preliminary adjustments may take some time, but the harness rarely, if ever, loosens making getting out the door quick and painless. So far I have owned this harness for about a year and a half and do not need to re-order one any time soon. Great value!Upsidedown
