Simparica Trio Small Dog For Sale (2024 Update)

I was looking for a budget friendly alternative to the three medications for my new puppy when Simparica Trio had been recommended. My little boy had been loaded with worms and on the verge of anemia. This medication easily works as well as Bravecto! Not a flea or tick on him this year even though I have pulled several off my person! Of course you should consult your vet before trying and discontinue immediately if you notice any side effects. I don’t even have to hide this in cheese to get him to take it! 5 out of 5 stars. Petco is quick to ship and even orders from the vet for me.BriP

Somehow they always manage to eat around them or spit out the pills. NOT with Simparico! My dogs eat it immediately and seem to enjoy it! I've used this stuff for a long long time and up till now I would have given five stars as it works great for fleas, ticks and heartworm. Two days after his last dose, our 4yo lab had a seizure. I've been getting him checked off and on for excessive drinking and urination with nothing found. Now after the seizure I find out both can be side effects of the preventative. We've put two dogs down on the last ten years for seizures and now are wondering. No proof of the product as the cause but needless to say your dogs are not getting a refill.Michael Pung

I love that they offer a 2lb weight class! I struggled to find something for my Shih Tzu puppy when he was younger. I was scared to put him outside without protection. This is a very good medicine which helps prevent several serious pet medical conditions, including heart worm prevention. I love the fact that Walmart Rx sells this medicine in a 3 mos. supply, as well as a 1 mos. supply, which is more affordable and convenient for me. I can't say enough good things about Simparica! Our other flea and tick meds only covered a limited number of tick species which we originally didn't know. One trip to visit my parents on their farm and we were pulling off easily 20 ticks per dog. We went back to our vet and asked for something with Fuller coverage and she recommended we use Simparica Trio to cover flea, tick, heartworm, and other worms. In the two years that we've used Simparica Trio, we have yet to find a live tick on the dogs or deal with fleas. Occasionally we will find a dead tick on the floor, but that's the extent of our tick problem now.christina.r

I do not recommend Simparica or any other heartworm, flea and tick medications. This nearly killed my dog after the 2nd dose. My dog suffered seizures and I blame myself as I read that on the packet that it can cause seizures and or nuerological disorders. but thought it won't happen. I thought it may be a good idea for him (after 7 years of no medications and he was fine). ** Keep away from these**. There are holistic methods to keep your dog healthy and free of ticks, heartworm and fleas. I pray no dog will encounter what my dog did. He didn't deserve it and now completely off this and finally weaning him off anti-seizure medications. Keeping it holistic and working fine. Actually, better than fine and he is 9 years old. So far so good! A few months ago we switched from using a combination of Nexguard and Triheart to using just Simparica. Our vet, a person in my life I trust 100%, highly recommended it. It’s simpler, more cost effective, all around a better option I feel. The dogs eat it without any issue. It’s easier for us to have just one thing to give them instead of two. Not a huge deal but we have multiple dogs of different sizes and on different strengths so we have to be careful we give the correct dose and it’s already a circus on this house. Love this brand of flea and tick repellent. It works well for thirty days to keep fleas from living and eating on my dogs plus it keeps mosquitoes away. It works fast; however if you have never used this product on your dog watch for strange behaviors and give your dog a bath immediately if they begin to have a reaction. Dogs do have allergies and like humans your dog could have a negative reaction and if so contact your vet. It is the choice of tick repellent I trust with all of my four legged family members. This product doesn't do as well with keeping ticks off my dogs, I normally buy a separate tick repellent when I purchase this product.trish.m

I’ve used just about every frontline product there is. They are ok but don’t work well for large infestations or really at all in the south/southwest. Fleas develop immunities and that’s the case here. It works for a day or two on the weak ones, but we have monster fleas in Texas. Tribal is slightly better but not great.sally.s

I've been using petarmor for quite a few years now, and not ever an issue, would find a dead flea once in a while. now this new order I received, first dose and both my dogs are having anywhere from 4-7 fleas everyday on each of them. I've had my yard sprayed, I bathe my dogs regularly , they only go outside to potty. So i a at wits end with why the petarmor is not working !!! I use fipronil for my work on bed bugs and other insects and I know this product works. I use your product for my dog and it works great. Fipronil being the ingredient in certain bed bug products is one of the best chemicals for the control of tough to kill insects. It works wonders on parasites of wild and domestic animals and is safe to work with by following the directions. It's basically odorless so dogs and cats dont mind the application. It takes a few days to kill but it last a very long time and some people dont give it time to work. It works by being ingested and if the tick or bed bug have already had a blood meal it will take time for them to feed again. So give itvtime.Carlo

So far, so good. I've been using this product as a generic alternative for Frontline Plus for about a year now. Applicator: The applicator is similar as the one from Frontline Plus and I would argue that it's easier to open. The product itself looks and smells like FLP which you would expect with the same active ingredients. Use: My dog's skin will be oily in the application spot for several hours but again, no different than FLP. I have tried alternative products with different active ingredients and they had to be applied in several locations on the dog's back and would remain very oily for days meaning that whenever the dog came into contact with furniture, there would be huge oily spots. This has not been the case with Petarmor. I typically apply it in the morning before going to work and then crate my dog while at work. When I return, the product is completely absorbed into the skin and I don't have to worry about oily residue on my hands or furniture. Efficacy: In the last year, we have had one tick on our dog that had actually attached while using this product. The 2 years prior, we also had one occurence of a tick attaching using FLP, so no difference there. If anything, maybe I'm not using it correctly or frequently enough? Either way, the ticks were relatively easy to pull out and the dog showed no signs of disease or illness. We also had one occassions where although the ticks did not attach to our dog's skin, they did use the dog as a vehicle to get into our house. I think the active ingredient kept them from attaching but didn't keep them from staying off of her. They ended up crawling on our floor but I was able to kill them. In short, it works at least as well as Frontline Plus although it isn't 100% effective in stopping ticks from attaching.iamholland

Our dog could not take oral flea preventative, as they made her very ill and lethargic. She was then placed on a topical solution, which worked for years before the fleas became immune. She is allergic to fleas, which created quite a dilemma. My daughter recommended Credelio that she gives her young dog after he also had a negative reaction to an oral medication. Our vet does not carry Credelio, so we contacted Entirely Pets, and are pleased to report, that our elderly dog was able to ingest it easily (it must taste okay, too) and the fleas are gone.Marsha

I am finding Bravecto to be 100% effective at killing ticks before they suck blood, even before they attach. I know it's working because I'm brushing dead (flat) ticks out of my dogs' fur. When I used Frontline and Advantix I was constantly picking engorged ticks from my dogs. Maybe the ticks would have died EVENTUALLY, but they were having quite a ride in the meantime, and dogs were getting itchy, unpleasant wounds. They downside of Bravecto: Theoretically, if your dog has a bad reaction to it, you can't wash it off, like you could with the topical formulas. I have 3 dogs and none of them had any reaction at all, so I haven't faced that problem. We live in an area with lots of ticks and a very high incidence of Lyme disease, so I am willing to take the risk. So far so good!doghairstew

Bought the Adams flea & tick plus as it came two in a Pkg & we have two small dogs. There was no warning on product that small dogs could suffer side effects more so than larger dogs, I found out online when my baby (the smaller of our two at 11 #'s) started acting very strange. He couldn't be still, yet at bed time he was so tired he would try to lay down & there was involuntary twitching & muscle movement, he couldn't be still. Morning & no difference, so it occurred to us only thing new was the flea collar! Took it off & called my vet. She said long as he hadn't eaten it, he should be ok but to monitor & if he didn't improve he would need pet urgent care. I love my little boy so much! I was in tears, but as day went on he did improve some and that night he was able to sleep right up next to me with some twitching, but not nearly as bad. End of second day, he is much better but I can't imagine the damage done if we hadn't put it together & removed the collar!

After one night in the collar, my poor Chihuahua was weak in the back legs, had NO appetite, started throwing up yellow stomach acid with bits of red, stringy blood in it, and is shaking all over and miserable. I bought the advantus yesterday. My babies loved them. I paid $54.99 plus tax $4.54 bringing the grand total to $59.53. Now let's break it down $59.53 divided by 30 days of the month that's a $1.98 per day to protect your baby. I do agree it could have had a lot more stuff to help with the fleas & ticks. Now the reason I said it won't work for me, is because I have 21 babies so instead of buying 1 bottle a month I would be buying 3 1/2 bottles. Now that's serious money, just bathe in dawn dish soap. mist them with a flea and tick spray before they go out to potty your good to go. I gave three stars because I bought it yesterday. First, let me state that I was unsure of this product before it arrived, not only because of the amazing price but because I've tried many different flea pills, chews and the liquid forms and none of them seemed to help at all. I have three large dogs and bought a bottle of 30 chews, geared towards smaller to medium size dogs, for around $29 and some change. Normally even after a bath, once my Dogs go outside, fleas are going to jump all over them. We've treated our yard but not only are there many strays in the area, not all of our neighbors treat their dogs or yards. I have given them each 1 chew daily since I got the first bottle, almost on the second bottle now and not one flea has been found alive on them! And very few dead ones, that we've found on their coats. No side effects so far (thankfully) and seemingly this product works extremely well, in my opinion. I've sued this for years on our tiny poodles and it works great. They never get fleas, never get sicks from use. The only draw back it the dog smells for about 24 hours. You might not want to pet them agressively during that time.Oregon2017

Not as expected. I have 3 dogs that weigh between 4 to 7 pounds. Followed instructions and had to reapply after 2 weeks as mentioned. This leads to her coming into the house, tracking dirt and the pesky fleas. We've done well to mitigate it in the past, but PetArmor helped in the process. In the past, I have given my dog oral medication to prevent flea and ticks. It worked well but I was never comfortable with the fact that he had to ingest the medicine. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08

I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. This year my baby spent a week away, and he came back with bite marks and constantly itching. After a cutdown and a bath with pet meds shampoo and conditioner; I Called 1800-Petmeds. They overnight Frontline Gold at a very cheap price in comparison to other big name companies. Within 30minutes my baby stopped itching. From 11:40am this morning, it’s now 11:53 pm absolutely no issues of itching or whining. He’s back to his old jolly self. In the past, I have given my dog oral medication to prevent flea and ticks. It worked well but I was never comfortable with the fact that he had to ingest the medicine. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost. Finally something that works consistently. After trying probably 10-15 brands of flea and tick stuff for my Dogs this is the company I come back to. Ive tried expensive stuff, Ive tried dirt cheap stuff. This works and works FAST. I actually have to put my dogs out if they have fleas on them at all. Within 30 minutes they are jumping off to get away and die. Weve had issues with super fleas here in northeast USA where the only thing Ive found to work is old fashion dawn dish soap and salt.Ive literally spread salt on all my floors so it looks like snow and left it sit over night then vacuum it up and then mop with dawn dish soap, everyday for over a week straight. This stuff not only took care of the fleas on the dogs and cats but the ones in the house would jump on the dogs would die to. Havent had an issue since.Corvet08
