Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. It gave him instant relief, he now comes to get the area sprayed when he chews. I am going to use the same product which is an ointment to see how well it does. I got this because we had two other dogs several years ago who were both affected by itching in different doggy-parts (stomach, behind, etc) and I used a similar product for them which also worked well. I believe a Hot Spot Anti-itch Spray is an essential for any dog's care kit. This product does the job to ease a dpog's constant itching well.MarkD2

I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. I came home and sprayed the areas with this, and he didn’t freak out like I thought so I know it didn’t hurt! He became calm and only tried to lick a few times before he relaxed and rested. I've been using it since the 90's – long before Tea Tree oil was main stream in the US. It works so well and I happen to like the smell. I've actually used it on me for poison oak because that's all I had in the medicine cabinet. It is very soothing and helps dry up yucky skin – or poison oak blisters. I love that it's anti fungal, anti bacterial as well as anti itch. Those with itchy dog experience are painfully familiar with secondary skin infections from dogs biting their itchies!! This helps keep dogs from getting to the state where they need systemic antibiotics!!!! Waste of money! Vet's best dog hot spot itch relief is TERRIBLE! One of the worst, strongest smelling chemicals I've ever smelled! He normally trusts what I put on him and he's fine with it, I sprayed this a cpl times and we both were trying to run from it! It smelled SO bad for so long I had to bath him, we couldn't stand it anymore. I bet this stuff could kill bed bugs and roaches too! I am glad I read the reviews on this product. They helped me to decide to give it a try. I have a dog with severe skin allergies. He is on premium dog food. He gets wiped off every time he come in from outside. I still was having problems with him biting or scratching himself raw. I have tried several other natural products but this seems to be the only one that gives him much relief. I do have to spray him several times a day, but it is worth it not to have him scratching. Picture shown does not match description. I'm looking for an anti-itch spray. Bottle shows some sort of pills to calm your dogs allergy. Not sure why you don't have some sort of basic hydrocortisone spray for "hot-spot" or other itches. It works great and is inexpensive to buy.biff

My lab had hot spots recently. I bought this product and applied it to the affected area in addition to the antibiotic cream given by the vet. I've battled with seb. dermatitis for 2 years had to use hydrocortisone creams on my face and, more especially, around my eyes and eyelids. I held off the hydrocortisone as much as I could but the seb. dermatitis would clear and then come back. I finished up with it behind my ears and down my neck on both sides and just couldn't get rid of it. I hunted the internet for months and spent a fortune on unsuitable creams (mainly because I was told I had eczema but not that it was seb. dermatitis related) until I discovered Sebclair. I started using it on 5th May 2021 in combination with Head and Shoulders Proven Solutions Scalp Relief shampoo and it started to look better from then onwards and now, a month later, my skin is pretty much back to normal and I probably don't need to use the Sebclair anymore. I thought I would leave a review of the Sebclair Cream as I found the reviews very useful when I was looking at it. So here we go. I have been using Sebclair for about a month now. Prior to this I had been prescribed the typical anti-fungal and steroid creams and had the same results as many on here. It would go away and then reappear as soon as I stopped using the steroid cream, so I though why not give this a go. When I first started the cream my Seb Derm was red, sore and itchy around my nose and cheeks. After the first week of using it, it went to a patchy red but not itchy. The week after that it had virtually gone, but I still had some slight flakiness. I was using it 3 times a day to start with but then dropped it to two and now, a month later, I barely use it. So, in all it is very good. However, I have improved my skin routine by using a facial cleanser and moisturiser by Cerave. Which together really helps keep it a bay. So, I would definitely recommend Sebclair, but I would also recommend a good skin care routine. It won’t cure Seb Derm, but it will definitely help.Jason M

If I had written this review 3 weeks ago I would have given it 5 stars. It was soothing, and reduced redness, dryness and itchiness almost immediately to the point where I was happy to go out without makeup for the first time in literally years. I thought I’d found the holy grail so ordered 2 more tubes. Unfortunately I think the formula has changed as I noticed the consistency was different, not as rich. And worse, I started to develop itching and dryness & redness within a couple of days so I think I must be sensitive to something new in it. The ingredients list on my new box differs from the list on this website. I haven’t kept the old box but assume what’s listed on here is what was in the old tube of cream. So disappointed. I just want to share our experience with the Veterinarian formula clinically care Dog shampoo. I just moved into this apartment complex Jun 2019 and on June 26 2020 picture one. We had a opportunity to rescue this beautiful black dog with some white under her neck (red when we got her because of the leash the lady had on her was twice the size she should’ve had and it rubbed her neck raw where she tied her outside). So as soon as we seen her we knew we wanted to bring her to our loving home where I share my home with my fiancé and 3 children. The ages 12,15,&18. So that day we brought her home and because she was tied outside a lot so with that . We immediately gave her a flea and tick bath and used Walmart brand flea and tick repellent. For her to wear around her neck (Now think about it … her life has completely changed at this point and she was loving it)Then we allowed her to roam the house and to find her spots. All she came with was a cage for her size a bag of Ol Roy and a 2 way oversized hoodies. The lady said here is her food and she’s uses the bathroom outside (obviously) and I asked how will she tell me she has to go? She said not to worry she’ll let ya know then she laughed…. Since having her home after a few hrs she started to warm up us… trusting us. She came with dog food she refused to eat!! Absolutely refused so we got her kibbles and bits and she loves it!! She was wagging her tail with enjoyment and happiness! So I figured she was ok with us. As far as her activity she was active she wasn’t showing a bit of grieving one bit as far as we could tell. (However, with going to the bathroom situation she was horrible at first peed everywhere and pooped behind couches and such but I’ve converted over to puppy pads.) THAT WAS A JOB! yay! Then over a few weeks I noticed her itching and scratching and over the weeks progressively gotten worse… The second Picture (Waiting at the Vets in the floor of the car) I took her to the Vet see if it’s allergies,nerves, etc . Because it started out of no where with no warning signs other then the scratching and scratching so he prescribed a steriod to take at home and a shot of steroids an with giving her those it chilled her down from scratching as much as she was and seemed to be helping but the after a few months she has now gotten even worse than she was she was bleeding all over!! The third picture is her second time to the vet trying to get more information and help not a lot was given but he did say he believes it may be a a airborne allgrine and she would need a shot every 6-8wks she is clothed we couldn’t bare showing how her skin looked was awful (winter she was bare skin with several abrasions where she begun biting herself )😭😭 so after that visit I researched Amazon for help researched google and ran across this shampoo and God am I so ever glad because after a few washes here she is today looks sooo shiny she now looks like picture number 4&5 !!!! Adopted a pocket bully from a lady 2 weeks ago and noticed he had what she called 'hotspots' ALL OVER him. We felt so bad and wanted to do something quick but wasn't sure wat it was exactly that he was enduring. So we picked up coconut oil and fish oil pills to start him on for his coat and skin. Well as healed within a week but noticed REALLY inflamed and almost bleeding rashes on back of his neck and knew we had to do something. Went to Walmart today and found this stuff because we came to the conclusion it has to be se type of skin condition dermititis or parasitic…wasn't too sure but his skin was soooo dandruffy and flaking . Used this as soon as we got home. Followed directions. Left on for 15 minutes ….after he dried off noticed NO DANDRUFF FLAKES!! I rubbed down his back and his back wasn't crunching up from inflammation like it usually does wen I softly scratch down his back . instantly shiny and softer . Happy dog. My 14 year old Chihuahua had weeks of horrible itching and scratching. He had terrible hard scales peeling off of his back that started in small patches and then spread to most of his back. Some of the spots started to bleed. I could not afford hundreds of dollars the vet wanted just for lab tests alone. I kept special Vasaline on him and that helped some. I've had the chance to use Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Shampoo for Dogs and Cats on both one of my dogs and one of my cats. The product works as described when used in accordance with the instructions. After a few daily baths of our dog, she stopped scratching a spot, I suspect was Poison Ivy, that she rolled in on day. My cat was scratching a spot on her neck constantly, so I braved giving her a bath. After one bath (thankfully!), she stopped scratching the area. She's an indoor cat, so I'm not sure what caused this, as there were no signs of having been scratched or any signs of fleas. After their baths, bot the cat's and dog's coats felt better and looked cleaner. It left their coats still shiny and hydrated – not dry and frizzy. Both the dog and cat have short coats. The flip up top and bottle constructions a such that it is easy to open and close, when you are struggling to keep a cat calm or an overzealous dog still when applying the shampoo. The bottle is not flimsy, which is nice when you have to concentrate on handling your pet and not having to worry about damaging the bottle. A great overall product!Gregory

Our dog has seasonal allergies, rye grass is the worst. We try to avoid grass on walks because just the smallest amount creates hot spots on his skin. Then the scratching is non stop further antagonizing the hot spots. We try to keep a healthy, natural diet, including supplements because he does have so many allergies. We have been using a topical ointment on hot spots, but we have stayed away from the shampoo’s for varied reasons including active ingredients. The active ingredients in this shampoo are: Lidocaine, oatmeal, and hydrocortisone. The topical ointment we have used has Lidocaine and hydrocortisone. I know oatmeal is very soothing for itching, so we decided to give the shampoo a try. About 24 hours after the first bath, we saw significant improvement on the hot spots. They were actually shrinking and covering up. Our pup stopped scratching and was able to actually get some rest. This is quit impressive considering how miserable he has been. We have two wild and rough housing shepherds. We live out in the boonies and run them in the morning, through the rugged desert trails. This time of year there are stickery little pesky plants that attach themselves in between toes, dog tails, and under bellies – not to mention all over my pants & socks. I noticed that the younger pup was chewing her arms to the point of it being raw. I like that this product has Coconut Oil Based Cleansers, Colloidal Oatmeal, and a touch of Hydrocortisone…. We decided to give it a shot, as we were fairly certain that her itchiness was likely due to tearing through the tumble weeds. As I was soaping her up, I noticed that the product had a nice mild, clean scent. It had a wonderful, silky, creamy consistency, and lathered up gorgeously. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. There were a few times that it was so bad we ended up getting her an allergy shot from the vet, but I did not like the side effects of that shot. So one year I got the Vet's Best Shampoo after doing some research online and found this to be a life saver. It smells good and really seemed to ease and soothe her hot, itchy, irritated skin. Her skin was getting raw in some spots where she couldn't stop itching and this seems very gentle on her skin and calmed the irritation down. I started using this shampoo 12 years ago for my Akita who was highly allergic to fleas. This was the ONLY product that would calm his hot spots and give him relief. I recently tried this on my elderly hound dog who came down with some type of skin disorder after a day of hunting. My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. This ointment seemed to take the itch away right after I put it on and he was able to relax. The only hard part was remembering to put it on every few hours. This spray helps relieve itch and irritation. It can be used on cats or dogs !!!! I have one cat who loves go rub her nose on things so her nose gets a spot on it… this has helped with that whole situation. It also has helped my 3 legged fur baby not dig at her skin. I am sure this shampoo would of been nice but the whole order and exsperience with this company was ruined when they shipped my several bottles of shampoo in with treats made from intestines of buffalo that smell like fecal material so strongly it permeates the plastic shampoo bottles. I still can't get the bottles of shampoo I ordered to release the poop smell that premeditated the plastic bottles. So disappointed they where mailed together in same pouch! I bought both the orange/hemp shampoo and this one. Out of the two I like the smell of this one and it doesn't dry out my scotch collie's coat like the orange one does. It leaves his coat bright and fluffy. They both do lather as long as your dog is very wet…but require you to use more than the earthbath shampoo I was using before. I basically have to drizzle a stream of shampoo on both sides and down each leg to work up a good lather so I am going through it pretty fast. I started out not using enough. That is my main issue with the shampoo is that it is pretty expensive and doesn't go far if you have a long-haired, double-coated breed of dog. This is my 2nd order of products placed with 4-Legger and I couldn't be happier. One of my dogs had the dreaded frito smell (it's not diet) and between this and the Restore, his feet don't smell anymore. Also, he came to me 2 yrs with gnarly, course hair on his back near his butt. Over time on a healthy diet, his coat has improved a lot but I couldn't get the course stuff to smooth out. Again, between both, his hair is consistent now and as smooth as his 2yr old nephew's! My dogs are black and white and while it's not advertised for this, their coats are SO white, it's amazing. I have two chihuahuas and one of them is extremely allergic and has very sensitive skin. I’ll be honest that I purchased Soothe shampoo but I did not purchase the foamer bottle. Hmm…my experience wasn’t good without the foamer as basically the shampoo did not foam at all. So I ended up using to so of product and that wasn’t good. 4-Legger customer support was supper helpful and empathetic to someone like me who wasn’t used to using organic shampoos. Since I got the foamer bottle it changed it all as now the shampoo foams very well, making it super easy and pleasant to wash my pups. And my sensitive, allergic pup seems to be scratching much, much less. Thank you for creating such an awesome product and thank you Melissa for your superb customer support. And for all the first-timers who never used organic shampoos from 4-Legger. In my humble opinion, you actually need the foamer bottle to be able to wash your pup with ease. Using the shampoo straight from the bottle isn’t the easiest way to wash your pup. Also besides the foamer bottle with Soothe shampoo in it being super easy to foam up my pups and wash them…also rinsing the shampoo is super easy. It doesn’t leave any ‘film’ on my pups coat, it’s easy to rinse, their fur is soft and shiny, and since it’s fragrance-free product I love how my pups simply smell ‘clean’ and ‘natural’. I most importantly appreciate that my pups seem to be much less itchy. I hope that with using Soothe shampoo on regular basis my pups will stop scratching themselves all together. It seems that every year my horses get just a little bit of rain rot on their back legs, tips of their ears, and sometimes right along their backs where the saddle goes. I love how it takes a few washes to rid my horses of the fungus (of course, my horses don't get a terrible case of rain rot, just minor) and then the Aloe leaves their hair coat soft and shiny! It also works great for horses that have sweet itch. Same thing goes for that – a few washes and the fungus is near gone and leaves behind a super soft and shiny coat. ***I have know a couple horses allergic to Iodine, so i definitely advise to follow the instructions on the bottle. Do a test spot on your horse before completely bathing their entire body in it***Sydney

My 5 year old American Bulldog is white and has very sensitive skin. He plays and works hard. Since he was a puppy he's been prone to skin issues especially under his belly. Mites are a big problem where I live and can really cause him problems. Ive found that this shampoo as a supplement to his regular shampoo gets rid of these skin irritations. I use a washcloth to rub it in and then let it soak in for a few minutes. Ive tried other similar products but none work as well as this one does.Tufswede

If you want sulfur in your shampoo, this is the stuff. My dog has some mange on the underside from laying in the grass I guess. He's only on the lawn when I'm out with him, no walk in the woods, etc. This seems to be getting rid of it. I am also using a 10% ointment rubbing on the two areas. After two weeks, the scoptic scabies are almost gone. I tried neem oil and the other home stuff, but nothing worked like this shampoo and the 10% ointment. I love the smell of sulfur in the morning ! lol Cioa.Knowitall

Ketochlor was recommended to help my dog with a skin fungus she picked up in the yard. This works much better than other medicated shampoos we have tried for the same condition, but we still have to treat the yard with an anti-fungal in order to control the problem.teachermos

My dog has bad allergies and I have to bath her every three days. I had been purchasing from another vendor in California and was very disappointed in their service, out of products, almost out of date product within like one month on something you don't use every day. Have promotions but not product. Never notify when something is back order, you have to email them and call and sometimes still nothing until you contact them again, very poor service. I was impressed with you I placed the order your got vet approval and it came from Florida to Oregon all in five days. I'm smiling here. As for the other company two weeks and their in California to Oregon. In fact yesterday and I don't write to many reviews but I did on them on Yelp and praised your company.Julie L
