I have an older dog with very bad breath. That is why I purchased Sea Dent. First I knew I would have to disguise this and not sprinkle on food. I use bits of snack cake with creme filling. Initially even disguised she was not happy with taste. After a few times she eats disguised Sea Dent with no problems. This immediately stopped her bad breath. To early to tell about her teeth improvement. I would recommend but be aware your dog may not like the taste.Aussielove

Have a 15 year old rat terrier with very bad teeth, just due to her breed, and since taking this her bad breath is no longer as potent. Her teeth color has changed from green/black to light brown. Not even her dental visits have made this impact. She is food motivated, so is not a picky eater. This works well. My dogs' teeth were pretty clean to begin with no significant plaque / tarter build up, but after 2 weeks of using this, they are cleaner and look like they just came back from the dentist. I was worried that they would not like the taste. I put this in with their yogurt they get in the mornings and they eat it all up. So no issues on taste even with 1 who can sometimes be a bit picky. I plan on using this with some brushing and see how it goes long term with keeping their teeth clean.celtilu

Apoquel has done wonders for my German Shepherd who recently developed seasonal allergies at six years old. He was scratching and biting at himself 24/7 and he caused an infection on his foot from the constant licking. He was so miserable until our vet put him on apoquel along w an antibiotic for his infection. The apoquel worked very quickly with relief felt later the same day he started. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. This stuff is amazing!! Absolutely love it and it does a wonderful job at keeping my babies teeth clean without having to brush. Has greatly improved the dental health of my newest rescue adoption who is 7 years old and has plaque and tartar accumulation which will be addressed with a dental soon. You need to use it consistently for best results and over a few weeks/a month to see obvious results but the change in smelly breath is instant. I rarely give products 5 stars but this definitely deserves it! I have been using this on my does teeth on and off for a few months now, lately because of the results I noticed I am trying to be more consistent. I either just rub the gel on my teeth with my finger or when I have more time I brush his teeth which has been giving the best results with the gel. I bought wisps and took out the beads and use them as little toothbrush’s, they work amazing, since my dog has such a small mouth (Chihuahua). Where I noticed the major results was his back teeth, they were really starting to build up with a lot of plaque, very dark yellow. They are almost white right now!!! If your dog gets paw and skin dermatitis you need to get this! My golden retriever gets it from outdoor allergies especially from grass. We use this for our cat. She is older, and has bad teeth. Her breath was getting pretty bad. We have to brush her teeth periodically. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. I came home and sprayed the areas with this, and he didn’t freak out like I thought so I know it didn’t hurt! He became calm and only tried to lick a few times before he relaxed and rested. These work pretty well, I try to give them to my 4 month old German shepherd mix 30 mins before we leave. A couple times I gave them to her 20 mins before and that worked once but the next time it didn't. It prevents the excess drooling and her getting dizzy and she's able to enjoy her ride. Wow! This medication is a miracle worker. My 7 month old Shichon would get sick within 5 min of any car ride. Sometimes 4 or 5 times if the ride was even just an hour. So we had to limit going anywhere with her until now! We gave this a whirl for a 2.5 hour weekend getaway and it worked like a charm. She was absolutely fine the entire trip-both directions. My 3-year old English Bulldog absolutely loves these Zesty Paws Vet Strength Aller Immune Bites. The smoked cheese flavor is unique and I love that the treats are shaped like hearts. My Vet recommended this for our senior dog. She was diagnosed with a heart issue last year and our vet is hesitant to do the anesthesia necessary for teeth cleaning unless we absolutely have to. We started using this on her twice a day. I spray some on a small gauze pad and wipe around her teeth. Her teeth look better and it has definitely improved her breath. My dog is barely responding to this. In the beginning she did but I'm wondering if she has built up a tolerance for it. But I don't want to detour anyone, it's unclear why my dog isn't eating. This got the greyhound to eating after a bout of canine flu. She had lost so much weight and was very weak from not eating. She is typically an iffy eater. If she over heats (which is almost every day in triple digit NM summers) she stops eating. If she goes two days without eating, she is reluctant to eat even if she feels okay. We have discovered that the right dose for her (@35lb) is to place a finger over the open top of the bottle and tip the bottle over and back upright. The amount remaining on the end of the finger is then rubbed on her lips so she can lick it off. Once is usually enough, sometimes a second similar "dose" is needed. This keeps her from throwing it up and/or foaming. Usually within the hour she will start back eating. If not, she gets a second dose.Galgo Owner

We found these about a year ago and boy have they made a difference! Our dog is getting older and consequently, his breath is slowly getting worse and worse. We've tried other brands but these work the best by far! Our dog LOVES them and gets so excited for his daily stick. My little dude isn’t the biggest fan of brushing chews- but he loves these! I have a 3 year old Chinese Crested (hairy hairless) and the hairless variety of this breed suffer from a gene that causes them to lose teeth or have improper dentition and dental issues. I noticed my boy starting to have some funky breath, so I decided to get him these chews while we wait for a vet appointment to clean his teeth and check them out, and as I already stated he’s normally not a fan. I tried to find the chew I gave him because usually he will leave it unfinished on my bed or on his rug and I wanted to see how far he got, and to my surprise he ate the whole thing! I read tons of reviews on multiple sites and decided to try these on my dogs. These legit work!!! My dogs(we have 5) had a bad can of stress diarrhea for a week from moving to a new home. I am so happy that I gave Uncle Harry’s Natural Alkaline Miracle mouthwash a try! This product leaves my mouth feeling so fresh! I do dilute the mouthwash. About one part mouthwash to two parts water and that’s plenty strong enough. Yes it’s potent! Lol! Dilute it to the strength that works for you. I love it. After brushing with Uncle Harry’s toothpaste, I rinse with Uncle Harry’s mouthwash diluted with water. When I first start to swish, it burns, like Listerine. So I keep swishing, and then the burning stops. I swish for about ten minutes. My mouth feels incredibly fresh afterwards! And stays fresh. Quite often, after consuming a meal, I will floss, and then swish with more of this mouthwash. My mouth stays fresh. I brush and swish again before bed. No fuzzy teeth or morning breath when I wake. Teeth feel perfectly smooth come morning. I purchased the smaller 8 oz. bottle, just to try the product out first. But this bottle will last me a while because I dilute it. Unfortunately this gave my dog really bad diarrhea and discomfort. I wasn't sure if this was what caused the diarrhea initially so I took her off this for a couple days and added it back into her water after she recovered, she proceeded to have diarrhea again the next day. I read before I bought this product, that some dogs don\'t like the water after you add this. So at first, my dog drank the water but then she stopped. She would come up, smell it and walk away. After a while, I switched to fresh water, without this product, and she drank so much so she was definitely thirsty but unwilling to drink. I can say that after using this for 2 days, her breath did smell good! So the product works! My 10 year old cat was literally dying because she could not eat and was getting too weak to drink. She was getting palliative, hospice type care but I didn't want her to starve to death. I searched for high calorie nutritionally sound feline supplemental food that required the smallest amount to compensate for her lack of eating. I came across this and decided to give it a try. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. I continue to feed Mamma every day, even built her an outdoor heated shelter in my fenced in yard. She is very content now. She now loves people, but cannot be picked up off the ground or lifted, but allows petting and head scratches. As for her kitten, she socialized very well, is awesome at vet visits and handling, and doubled in size very quickly because of the added Ready-Cal supplement and gained weight at a rate of 1lb/month. Her blood work came back from the vet as perfect. She was de-wormed, de-fleaed, and now is added to our family as a "foster-fail" which means that she is just too stinking cute to adopt out, so I kept her as part of our family. Dasuquin is an updated product from Nutramax. We gave Nutramax Cosequin to old German Shepherd and Australian cattle dogs that have since passed on because it gave them relief from joint pain that was obvious in the improvement in their ability to get up and lie down and run again. I'm giving maintenance doses of Dasuquin to two large dogs we have now that are age 4 and 5yr to extend the life of their joints. The ingredients are similar to human nutritional supplements for older people: Glucosamine, chondroitin, brewers yeast, dextrose, green tea extract, gum resin, lecithin, cellulose, mixed tocopherols, flavoring and soy protein. avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU) ….. We haven't used Dasuquin long enough for a long term review so my rating is based on previous experience with Nutramax products. The tablets are 3/4 inch in diameter. My dogs won't eat them as they are so I break them into fourths with my fingers and drop them into their food. The tablets are easy to break. If your dog is getting older I recommend this product along with high quality dog food and fresh water.William

I was told my dog had a luxating patella. We would hear his knee popping in and out all the time. Baxter has been on Dasuquin with MSM for many years, and so far we have never had to consider surgery. Baxter gets one full tablet every morning with his morning meal. I think he thinks its a special treat, so he gobbles it right up. I bought this as the reviews were mostly positive. I have only been giving it to my two dogs for about 3 weeks, one is a 8 year old lab mix and the other is a 6 year old English Mastif. I will need to give it more time before I definitively say it is working. These soft chews worked for my little Yorkshire Terrier like nothing else we tried. After two weeks of being clogged up (the x-ray showing his backed-up intestines at the vet were frightening), introducing these soft chew stool softeners did the job that Miralax, Dulcolax, pumpkin, olive oil, fruit juice and yogurt could not do alone, when added to his food.
