I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. I am happy with the life saving product. The product arrived surrounded by dry ice and it was freezing cold. The company insert says to keep FROM freezing so I was a little confused and uncertain if I should proceed but she needed her injection. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. You can continue every other day for another 2 weeks.Cricketoes

I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. I came home and sprayed the areas with this, and he didn’t freak out like I thought so I know it didn’t hurt! He became calm and only tried to lick a few times before he relaxed and rested. My Sunshine has been suffering for years with itchiness and toes swollening and getting infected to the point of puss coming out. My little Papillon, Dixie (1.9 yrs old) has had the typical small dog issues with her stools since she was a pup (who ever decided to breed a small breed dog with long butt hair wasn't really thinking "practical"! I like to compare it to a woman trying to go to the bathroom in a wedding dress!) and about 1 year ago she had a BAD bout of Pancreatitis that landed her in the Emergency Hospital for 6 days (a pretty penny- about $2700.00! Thank goodness for Pet Insurance!). This product has been a life saver for both Dixie and me! Ofcourse no over-the-counter medication is an equal replacement for veterinary care if your dog is ill, but this is a great product for every pet owner to have on hand! It's great for the occasional upset stomach and when your dog gets into the cat food, trash, etc. It's also been great with the history of Pancreatitis, if Dixie gets an upset stomach after my regular vet's office hours, it works almost immediately and it helps prevent the dangerous symptoms associated with moderate to severe diarreaha such as dehydration (it doesn't take many loose bowel movements for an 8lb. dog to get dangerously dehydrated), vomiting blood and bloody diarreaha from an irritated G.I. tract, etc,. This has helped by me time to get through the night without having to take Dixie back to the outrageously expensive Emergency Hospital and calms her symptoms until our regular vet opens. It's worth shelling out the few bucks to have this on hand rather than the costs of an emergency visit! It's some sort of Doggie-Murphy's-Law that your pet only gets sick at 2am… I call it Doggie- Immodium, it really does work great and my vet said it's great to have on hand and perfectly safe to give your pet. It says on the label (or somewhere in the advertisement) that your pet will love the taste and the review from "Snoozer" before mine said their dog liked it, but unfortunately I have them beat with "picky-dog factor" Dixie HATES it! The good thing is that because its a nice thick paste as long as I get it somewhere on her muzzle (she puts up a fight like you wouldn't believe- but that stems from being treated poorly and force-fed as a puppy, it's not the products fault) she does lick it off and gets enough medicine in her system to be effective! So overall, I highly recommend every dog and cat owner to have this in your home, even if your animal doesn't have a history of GI issues! Most people have Immodium or pepto in their medicine cabinets, shouldn't you do the same for your pet? PS- the cats LOVE the taste! They even lick the paper towel I wipe my hand off on after giving it! Hello, I ordered this product for my cat who has had diarrhea for several months following a move to a new home and the stress of a now mobile toddler. The product took a very long time to arrive which is not a huge problem itself, but wish it would have been expressed clearly before ordering. After feeding my cat the 1/2 a pill he threw up about an hour later. I tried once more 8 hours later thinking maybe he just had a hair ball or something and he threw up again. I realize spending $50 on a product that may not work is a risk, and one that I was willing to take. I agree that my dog, a lab hates the flavor and was seeking out the pill and spitting it out until I tried baby food turkey and chicken in the little jars. I use a baby spoon and bury the pill in the meat. She gobbles it up and does even notice even the pill. We do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. My 12 year old Shiba Inu had 850 liver enzymes. That's so bad and I was so stressed. She has been on this stuff for over 1 year and now her enzymes are about 420. Cocker has “dry eyes and prescribed steroids and cyclosporine twice daily each eye. Suspect his extremely elevated liver enzymes may be due to long term steroid use or could just be his age. Haven’t tested for Cushing’s but sonograms reveal no tumors on liver or pituitary glands. He was lethargic and never feeling well until his doctor advised trying the Denamarin. His Opthalmologist concurred it was a great idea. Haven’t yet tested his liver enzymes again to see if the numbers have improved (hasn’t been on them quite a full month) but I’ve reordered and will receive the pills monthly. Bottom line: he’s a lot more energetic, playing with his toys again, not sleeping all the time, just overall feeling so much better. He’s acting normal again—normal for an 11-plus year-old Cocker. Did a lot of research before giving him the Denamarin and felt they were safe, and most people had positive results using it. Only drawback would be that the pills for large dogs are really big. You’re supposed to administer 1 hr before or 2 hrs after a meal, which I do with a little piece of boiled chicken breast to hide it and help it go down, and it goes down without a problem. Can’t imagine any dog of any size being able to swallow a pill that size without an owner hiding it in a little chunk of something, cheese, pill pocket, treat. Anything to help it go down easier. And helps if they drink a little water. Can’t wait to have his liver enzymes tested again. I’m confident they will have improved. Side note: when one’s liver is not working properly, urine can have an odd and strong odor, which his did. Standing several feet away, I knew something wasn’t right. That too has resolved which makes me believe his liver is on the mend.Yvonne

This product works great for my dog. She’s coonhound and beagle mix. When I first brought her home she shed something awful! HAIR WAS EVERYWHERE! I was at my wits end and so ready to rehome her due to the excess shedding. I stayed up all nite and googled and came across this product! She really loved the taste of it in the beginning, but now not so much, so I give her 1-2 tablespoons a day. I’m definitely keeping her on this for a while. It’s much more convenient than having to melt coconut oil and applying it on her food. The pro: it definitely works! Plus Petco does price match in store with online! The con: Can be a bit pricey, as You have to buy 2 or more bottles before you see results. And your pet may not like it! I suggest holding on to the receipt, as I bought one for a friend and their pet didn’t care for it. The instructions say to double the dose for the first 30 days depending on the weight of your pet. Cookie weighs about 25lbs. For the first 30days I had to give her 4 tablespoons a day sprinkled and mixed in her food. 2tblsp in the a.m and 2tblsp in the p.m. from the 16oz bottle so I ran out of the fish oil in less than a week. My baby pit bull loves this. She always seems hungry. Yet I feed her plenty and extra most days. Since adding this she seems satisfied for longer between feeding. When reading the info on this product you could be excused for thinking if its half as good as it says its worth giving it a try. Believe me its worth the expense of delivery from the US. 2 of my horses had acquired cuts. One was on the body & the latter one was a nasty over reach. I purchased Schreiner's to try on the first injury which just wasn't reducing in size and kept opening slightly. It worked wonders & healed in no time. After having the over reach stitched & following the vets instruction we found we had got so far but not completely healed. I decided to try the half bottle of Schreiner's I had left and in no time at all the improvement was easy to see. I have just ordered 2 more bottles just to keep by me. This is awesome for your kitty's immune system. My new rescue had gotten very ill and then my other rescue caught her virus/bacterial infection, whatever it was. I hesitated to buy the hip and joint advanced liquid for cats. I often think homeopathic products are a gimmick. When my 13 year old 20 pound Russian Blue started having trouble walking down stairs and was hesitating before jumping up, I consulted my vet only to be told there wasn't treatment approved for cats joint maintenance yet. I bought a bottle and wasn't sure how I was going to administer it to my cat. She's very feisty and there was no way I'd be able to give it to her in a dropper. I poured it on her food and she ate every last bit of it. I started giving it to her every morning without a problem and before the bottle was gone she was moving like a kitten!  I just received my second bottle. The vet said a shot should be approved sometime this year for cats with joint problems, but I don't intend to put her through the monthly trauma as long as liquid vet keeps working.
