I purchased CragTM Reflective Dog Leash, first the shopping experience on the site was fast and faithful to the source of the advertising. It is important!!!. Second, the leash is very useful, when I am outside the house I tie to a chair without disturbing the dog and not one click to open and the other to connect. The strap is adjustable and fits any height of the escort. The connection and disconnection of the strap is done in quick and safe control. In addition, when walking the ***** never gets entangled with the leash – the buckle rotates and the leash always stays straight. My terrier's urge to hunt comes as a surprise on the hike, the leash can give me good control over its grip and urge. I think there was a smart and in-depth thinking in the production of the leash, whoever did it just very much loves dogs and himself, thought of the dog and the owner at the same time. highly recommend.Luna A.
This is my 3rd Ruffwear leash. My last Crag leash wore out from overuse (I walk by dog 3X/day). The ability of quickly unsnap it, then tie him to a table/tree/post is incredibly useful. The hook to attach to his collar is the best anywhere. I bought a different vendor's leash as an experiment. It was a lot more expensive and had a gimmicky magnetic clip and a good looking but hard to use collar clip. I tried modifying it several ways but realized I was going to end of with a Ruffwear leash, and bought another Crag leash. Ruffwear gear is for the most part very practical and high quality. It lasts.Doug G.
After having this leash for a few months, I am very happy with it. The clasp doesn't open as wide as the old leash I had (generic brand), but that wouldn't prevent me from recommending it. I have also not adjusted it to fit around my waist yet but assume it will be very easy to do so. I do like that the part of the leash near the clasp (where it overlaps itself) can be used as a loop to hold my dog close if needed. It is very durable material and I assume it will last us a while. Make sure to get the matching collar! Also a great product!Wendy B.

I have owned a lot of equipment over the years for my 4 legged friends, all from various manufacturers. I can honestly say the Ruffwear brand are probably the best I have used. Strong and well made with quality hardware. I particularly like the seperate dog tag mounting point and rubber disc to cushion the tag. This means no more rattling of metal against metal as my dog walks and plays. It has to be more pleasurable for the dog too, considering their highly tuned hearing. The collar is easy to adjust and looks smart, not bulky like others.Steven S
Purchased Front Range collar, harrnes & Lead. Second Front Range set purchased. Last year purchased the same set in the Orange color. using both sets now as this provides time to clean and air dry each set. Great product as always. I always recommend RuffWear products when someone asks. Keep up the great work and products. Thank You Bob AdamsROBERT A.
The item itself is mediocre at best. . It’s an overpriced collar with a plastic clip. There was a time when I really enjoyed your products. Now I have to sacrifice quality for the esthetic color that I want. . I would have much preferred and would even pay the up charge to have the color I chose with the metal buckle. I do a lot of hiking and backpacking with my pup and when he’s excited (which is often) I now have a concern for the durability of his collar AND his harness. I doubt I’ll be purchasing ruffwear again anytime soon and to get a quality product you will have to pay a lot more and also sacrifice in the esthetic department.Zach H.

We love ruffwear! Have been using their products for 5 years already, love the designs and materials they use but mann what’s going on with the stitching ?? It sucks when the stitching starts coming loose within days/weeks of use, i got two dogs and it feels like you got a 50-50 chance that you will get a product with defective stitching, Got two collars, the “ruffwear” tag started coming loose within a few weeks of use on one of those. Got two leashes, the buckle to use around the waist broke in two days!! On one of those, the other one is still good, Got two fernie jackets, the stitching around the neck started coming loose within ONE wash on one of those, so you get the point… luckily i know how to sew and I’m able to repair the items, but it sucks to spend top dollar on dog gear only to last in good condition for a few days or weeks.Gabriela
I have 2 beagles a little over a year old and these are the second Ruffwear collars they’ve had. I bought new ones because they grew out of their old ones and, honestly, I wanted a new look on them. My girls are typical beagles who spend a lot of time outdoors wrestling, digging, chasing, etc. These collars hold up well and are not too thick, stiff, or bulky. Love the reflective threading on them too!Audrey S.
For the number of tags I need to have on my dog, separate attachment points for tags and leash are a must. Everything on one ring would be a difficult mess. My Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy is growing quickly, and making small size adjustments a couple times each week is no problem. Once set, it stays set no matter how hard he pulls, no matter if the collar is dry or wet. The webbing hardly absorbs odors, and a quick wash and air dry gets rid of what little there was. My only regret is that my rough-and-tumble beast of a puppy will outgrow his medium collar in another month. I'm ordering a large Top Rope collar next, and someone is going to get a really sweet hand-me-down!Glen H.
4. Ruffwear Web Reaction Dog Collar, Seafoam | 11"-14"
Product Details:
If you're not familiar with martingale collars like this one they are designed to provide just enough cinch in the neck give your dog a message when he pulls, but not enough to cause discomfort. i like them because you get to set the amount of cinch yourself when you adjust the collar size. the ruffwear web reaction collar is well suited to communicate with your dog about the pace of the walk. never end up holding a leash with an empty collar! if your dog can outsmart the average collar i'm talking to you! the beauty of a margingale collar is it cinches tighter when your dog stops, backs up or tries to slip out of the collar. this style is really perfect for dogs with smaller heads like greyhounds and whippets. see also the chain reaction collar for a ruffwear martingale style collar.

Regal is a 7 month old sable and white rough coat collie. He is learning good manners walking on a lead. The martingale. Collar works well with this and does not tangle his fur. Also it is very stylish. The collar was out of stock when I ordered it but Canine Spirit let me know which was much appreciated. Given that it did not take long for delivery of the collar. Very happy with the great service. Thank you Canine Spirit.Regal says Woof, woof.Dianna
Amazing collar. I own a lot of ruffwear gear and they are all just great! This collar in particular. I have a female Siberian husky which LOVES to pull and this honestly does control pulling. She is great on our walk and it doesn’t choke her or anything but just doesn’t feel comfortable to her if she pulls which is great and she doesn’t pull anymore. 10/10 would recommend!Iva K
I’m using the martingale collar for loose leash walk training with my 9 month old lab puppy. My trainer recommended this type of collar since I wanted to avoid using some of the other collars like prong collars if possible. My dog is very big and a strong puller so leash skills are so important. The martingale is also nice because it cannot easily slip off. It’s working great for us and like all ruffwear gear we’ve tried it is high quality and durable.Leslie M.

Reviews:
I figured this new buckle design would be better and improved over the plastic buckles on leashes that I honestly have never had any issues with. However, I don’t know if I just got a bad buckle or what, but this metal buckle seems to only seems to introduce new issues. Firstly, the biggest issue I have with it, is the rivets are not flush with the other metal pieces, and dog hair will get stuck under the rivet heads and pull out. Secondly, this buckle release mechanism is not smooth AT ALL. It is not a design that can be released with one hand. Not only does it require two hand, but it takes a lot of force and wiggling to unbuckle this buckle. I paid extra for this newly designed buckle, thinking it would improve upon typical collar buckles. But I feel as if I only to threw money in the trash with this purchase, which I have to painfully admit because I have many other Ruffwear products that I love. Unfortunate and disappointing. Don’t buy this collar.Chris
We love this collar for our catahoula mix. He broke out of his plastic buckle collar three times in five months, eventually breaking it completely. We bought this collar because Ruffwear had been recommended to us many times, and because of the full metal buckle! It works great and looks so stylish. The only thing that we found was that the 14-20” size is actually slightly too big for his 15.5” neck. I made it as small as it could go and it’s still a bit bigger than his old collar. I’m not sure if 14” means just the collar without the buckle, but just a word to the wise on sizing. Wonderful collar overall!Amy M.
I switched from a harness to a collar for K9 Nose Work and Scent Work, but found that the leash ring kept falling down under my dogs' neck making it hard for me to keep the leash up and not tangled in their feet. I was looking for a collar with the buckle opposite the leash ring and the Top Rope collar popped up in my search. I bought two. I have since used them in practice and at trials and I LOVE them. I do wish there was an 1 1/2" wide option so they would feel more different to both dogs than their regular collars, but this still works great. I'm very glad I bought these for my competition dogs.Barb S.

My dog isn’t a huge puller, but when I need to hold tight on tug her in, this leash is very rough on my hand and the rope is very thin/narrow. I basically have gotten rope burn. Maybe I should have exchanged for larger size, but I didn’t want to spend the money on shipping and returns when this was already a kind of expensive leash. Despite the rope being smaller than expected, quality still seems great, it’s just not working out for me and my dog who occasionally pulls really hard when she gets really excited by another dog or the stray tissue. Love the collar we got though, this leash is just not for us. Will probably donate to local rescue.Rebecca I.
This is the third leash we’ve been through in less than 4 months. Each has ripped in the same place, where the leash connects to the caribeaner. Ruffwear has replaced each one but each time they’ve said it was not a defect in craftsmanship. We had one for nearly 5 years (that ripped in the same spot) before these three. Disappointed to say the least. Cannot recommend at all. Zero stars if possible.Christopher B.
My rat terrier learned how to Houdini her old leash off, so we needed something that locked on. This leash is great for that! No unexpected escapes. It's easy to lock and unlock for humans and impossible for dogs, so that part is perfect. I think the handle is good, too. But, I don't like that it's a rope, as it turns out. Though it looks cool, when you want to hold the leash down closer to the dog, and the dog quickly moves away from you toward a squirrel, say, you get rope burns on your hands. Not great. Ialso find i have to put my entire hand through the handle so it doesn't slip out of my hand, which i didn't have to do with flat leashes (could hold with 2 fingers). Also doesn't displace the force of a dog's pulling as much. Wish this came in a flat leash option for my hands and my only very occasional puller! Not a big deal if your dog doesn't pull at all, though.Pamela B.

It was hard spending this much money on a piece of dog clothing, but I’m so glad that I got this for my dog, and I got the best deal I could find anywhere online with a coupon. He is pretty expressive about his likes and dislikes, and he gets super excited when it’s time to out in his jacket. It keeps him warm and dry, covering a good amount of him while also allowing plenty of freedom of movement. Every bit of it is adjustable, so we can get a nice fit for longer walks or just slip it on loosely for a quick potty break. I also got the same brand of harness and love how there’s a little spot to thread the leash through to hook onto the harness. Both are very well made and thoughtfully designed.AnaT
My Dog loves the Vert Jacket: PROS: Our senior dog can get into it easily- no holes to try to put his feet though. It is waterproof and withstands showers well. If it’s a torrential downpour I would probably add the Sunshower jacket on top or stay inside. He is now willing to walk for a longer time because the Vert keeps him toasty. So it's warm and easily goes over his flagline harness. Even though it makes our dog look like a tropical turtle he thinks he looks stunning. The fabric on the inside does not collect fur. This is a great jacket for cold snowy and rainy days. CONS: The buckles on the side make it hard for him to sleep in when we are camping. He is not a fan of leg loops. I wish Ruffwear would make a fleece sweater that my senior dog could get into easily and that would work under this so when we camp he has a nice warm fleece (no leg hole battle) to sleep in.Jennifer L.
I got the Vert thinking we would need it later in the season. I was wrong. Today the weather was so bad our power went out. Temps in the low 40’s with 40 mph winds, lightning and thunder and sideways rain all day. I didn’t want to take Phoebe out for fear of a branch falling on us. But, she couldn’t wait any longer, we had to go. Put the Vert jacket on her and we went. The jacket stayed in place and kept her comfortable enough for her to sniff, walk and go. We got back and I was a drenched mess. She was dry and warm under the jacket. I was so happy to see that she was comfortable. The jacket is so good that I am writing this still without power. Thank you Ruffwear for such an amazing jacket. The photo was taken by my wife with a flashlight.Dennis L.

I purchased this collar maybe 3 months ago and the buckle now pops open when my dog pulls on his collar, whether it be on his leash when he sees a squirrel or at the vet while they are just holding him into place. My dog is 55lbs and barely pulls on his leash, only when he sees small animals. Not impressed the buckle! I really liked the collar but I would prefer it if the buckle didn't break or if it was more like the belt style.Grace
I purchased this collar or one very similar for my dog last year and it ended up rubbing off his hair on his neck area and leaving an irritated raw patch. As a pet owner I was very concerned sense the collar wasn't very tight at all, I don't want this happening to anyone else's baby. I did reach out to Carhartt to inform them of this defect and they seemed concerned and offered to replace it with a better collar. They ended up not replacing it and continued to give us the run around. We also did send photos in to show how harmful it was. I loved there product but it's super disappointing they don't stand by there word. Carhartt is more expensive then most clothing so it's just frustrating I payed good money For a product that is supposed to be durable and safe. Just don't understand.Stella
Stylish and good-looking collar. Unfortunately, it's not as durable as we had hoped. The buckle/clasp is half plastic and half metal which causes it to fail over time. Ours worked great for a little over a year on our 45 pound hound, and then began to fail if our dog applied tension to it against his leash which would cause it to fall off of him. We loved the collar up until this point.JoshC

This is a lightweight, but strong, leash with a comfortable, padded handle. I really appreciate the traffic handle, but wish it was a little bit longer so I wouldn't have to bend over to hold onto it. The traffic handle allows me to keep my dog close when approaching other dog walkers — especially when my dog starts hopping on her hind legs like a kangaroo. As far as leash length, I wish the leash was a standard 6 ft length for leisurely walks. I will keep it, only because it matches the Hibiscus Pink Front Range Harness. No complaints at all about the leash clip.Dianne H.
I used this leash in combination with a harness walking my 12 year old Alaskan Malamute. The hibiscus pink color popped well with her black coating and against the white snow of the Adirondacks. I really liked the handle design, as it accommodated wearing large mittens to walk my dog easily, and the 5 foot range was adequate for giving her the space she wanted to explore. I also liked the clip design where it went onto her harness ring, and was relatively easy to clip and unclip. I was able to run with her using this leash and she responded well to any tugs I made. Quality product and would look at getting other Ruffwear for my dog!TrailrunnerRachel
I love the locking component on the clasp, which was the whole reason we bought this leash. But I don’t love that the traffic handle is too close to the clasp, so it’s not convenient to hold if your dog is short or the human is tall. I’m 5’6” and my dog is a 50 lb cattle dog, and the traffic handle is so low that neither of us can be comfortable while using it. I also wish the fabric was double-layered or maybe just wider; it’s a very lightweight leash but because of that, it feels a bit flimsy. On the other hand, it would work great for small to medium sized dogs who feel weighed down by “normal” leashes.Megan P.

My pup is almost full grown now so I wanted to purchase a nicer collar since it will be one he won’t grow out of. I have had the collar and matching leash for 2 weeks and both are already starting to fray. In addition under “dog collar embroidery” I typed in the box my dog’s name and selected white as my thread color. I received the leash and collar without embroidery and when I reached out to customer service they said it wasn’t on the order, no offer to fix the issue. I do like the D ring it makes for quick easy clip in with the leash. I have not had any issues with the collar unclipping as others have mentioned. Overall I am not pleased and will not purchase future products.Lauratheo
Not to put down any other collar but this one is the best! The buckle is so much better than those standard plastic ones that pinch you or the dog. This one is a smooth operator made from polished metal. The leash loop is separate from a nicely made dog tag loop. All placed smartly to be away from one another and to allow the embroidery name and number to show well. The reflection material is like a neon light when reflecting light from a flashlight or car lights!
Like several other reviewers, I have a big problem with the metal clasp on the Tough Trail personalized collar. We had very similar collars from a different brand that lasted for years, and were only replaced because the dog smell stopped washing out. I upgraded to new Orvis collars in August 2021 and within six weeks, the buckles started getting jammed. At first we needed a tool to unbuckle and then securely put back on. When that didn't work, I loosened them and pulled off over their heads. Two weeks ago, we had the dogs groomed and the next day, in the woods, one collar was forever lost. I'm guessing the groomer wasn't able to get the buckle to snap in completely. Now, because I prefer my Aussies to have matching collars, I'm shopping for new ones after 14 weeks of use. The collars themselves are lovely–we picked orange and teal for a change up–but beware of the hardware clasp. I think I'll look for plastic.Cape Cod Pamela

Reviews:
This fleece jacket is well-designed, warm, and made with good materials including the zipper. I initially wanted another climate changer fleece jacket but didn't like the color choices. I was pleasantly surprised how well it fit my 40 lb dog in a size medium. The teal color looked better than online. We also got lots of compliments on our walks. So now I'm going to get another color, the Hibiscus pink. Despite others saying the material or threads falls apart easily, I have not yet had a problem, and am very conscientious about handling the jacket delicately just in case. My smooth Border Collie wears this most of the time indoor and out because she lost a lot of weight due to illness. I have even used it as a first layer with a ruffwear rain jacket over it. I am very happy with this purchase.Patty
We needed a lighter layer to wear alone or under her larger coat. The Large fit is good for my long, 71lb hound/lab mix who measures ~27in long. I do wish Ruffwear had more adjustability – elastics, straps, anything. My biggest issue is there was not a harness hole. Wearing the harness on top (pictured) didn't fit well around the neck and seemed uncomfortable, adding & removing layers I'd prefer the harness underneath. I added a harness hook hole and stitched it up for durability, and it fits and looks much better now (also pictured). They should've just added a harness hook hole… Also not a fan of how to put it on with the side zipper. I basically have to lay it on the ground under her to get her feet in, and when we're hiking that means I'm the dirt and gets stepped on with muddy paws. Otherwise, it's a decent fleece, just needs some design improvements. I do love that her belly is covered and warm.Melissa
Our dog loves this sweater. He has not been a fan of his raincoat and other clothing but this is soft and comfortable. Washed it once so far and it kept its shape. Side zipper is terrific and we love how the seams are reflective. We put his harness over it as there is no hole for a harness ring if you were to wear it underneath. Only criticism would be that he was playing with other dogs and a small hole ripped in the side from rough play/claws.Julia

Reviews:
First the Pros: this harness is durable and I have no doubt it is strong and durable enough to hold my 70lb pittie when needed. It also does a great job of keeping her from pulling when using the chest loop. We love the Ruffwear brand and I (and my dogs) love the sweaters/clothing as they are always cold in temps below 70°. Cons: I watched the video on fitting the harness and every single walk results in raw skin/bleeding/scabs under her armpits (she has very thin fur on her underside) due to the material of the harness rubbing in this area. I also find the buckles a bit difficult to unclip as they are partially hidden inside the attachment area which means you have to squeeze the buckle through the thick harness material to release the clasp. Because of my love of their other products and the front clip feature, I may try to put some padding or softer material in the underarm area to see if that helps.Melissa S.
For the most part I really like this harness. The construction seems sturdy and the color is nice, and it’s very easy to get on and off. That said, I think it could be improved by lengthening the body (the neck to back, if you will). I have two mixed breed dogs who are very similar in shape, size, and weight. I purchased two of these harnesses, one in extra small and one in small. The small is overall a bit too large around, and the small (although ok for girth) is way too short. I am always trying to keep an eye on their underarms and backs of their elbows to make sure they aren’t getting raw spots. I’ve seen the same issue in other reviews, so I don’t think it’s just my dogs. I would also love it if you could purchase extenders in different sizes, because I think often a smaller size is better all around, but doesn’t extend in girth quite enough, while the next size up is too big. The good still outweighs the not perfect though, and I keep coming back to Ruffwear to buy different styles of harnesses!Samantha N.
So, I had been waiting until our pup was close to full grown to invest in this harness, as it's a bit pricier. I really wanted to love this harness SO much and give it the best review, as the quality is fantastic and it's really just an all around durable and beautiful harness!! BUT…… it did not work well for our English Cocker Spaniel Pup. I bought her an XS at our local pet store and we tried it on there to make sure it seemed to fit right, as she is pretty much full grown now. I don't think the XXS would fit her girth properly, so we got the XS, which fits nicely around the chest, but after grooming her puppy fur around the neck, the harness is too loose at its tightest now, and when I use the front hook (which is ideal for training her on the leash), the harness shifts terribly and has caused really awful matting of her fur under her armpits, to the point where I had to stop using the harness. And now I have to cut off all that matted fur under her armpits. We comb and brush her regularly, but she's also active and we hike and swim and have done lots of activity in this harness. It's such a shame, as the front clip was my favorite way to leash train her and I just love the overall look/style of the harness, but I don't think the XXS is going to fit, as I can barely get the XS over her head at it's tightest and then it's too loose at the neck. All that to say, if you have a floofy spaniel pup who likes to pull, you may want to make sure you can get sizing exact and be sure to check the fur constantly. I'm giving this 3 stars because it is a really well made harness, just did not work out well for our ECS. None of my other harnesses have caused matting like this, even when her puppy floof was at it's longest, so I know it's this harness and using the front loop hook and just the fit not working right for her. Looks great, doesn't fit great. I'm so bummed about it. I really wanted to love this harness. I would recommend it to a pup that does not have long fur.Lindsay

Both of our dogs LOVE swimming in the ocean. We don't particularly love washing their collars 2-4 times a week, though! These collars fit the bill of durability, style, and ease for us. Now we can just wipe off their collars once we're home. The best part is that their collars don't smell like the ocean anymore. We got the teal for our lab/rottweiler mix & the dark blue for our golden. I hope Ruffwear makes more colors in the future & makes leashes in this material, it's awesome!Jaimie
We live in the warm salt air on the Gulf Coast and love strolls on the beach. This collar does not rust, does not cause skin breakdown, is easy to keep clean, and is light weight. I have 2 Blue Heelers and 2 Labrador Retrievers, and the Confluence is perfect for all of them.Sandra C.

I was so excited for this leash and had such high hopes! My phone is too big for the hip pocket of my hiking pack so I normally wear a fanny pack to hold that, in addition to a dog waist leash. I thought this would combine those two needs, but unfortunately the fanny pack is tiny and does not have room to hold anything other than excess leash. The strap that goes around your waist is too thin, so if your dog pulls at all it digs in and will leave a rash and bruises. I do like that the clip locks the leash at a certain length, but it is extremely difficult to shorten the leash, especially if you are trying to do so quickly. An off leash dog approached my dog on a trail and my dog got scared and started pulling. I had to grab the rope to reel it in, but it was super hard to pull with my dog pulling on the other end and I got rope burn on my hands. We are obsessed with ruffwear and normally love their products, but sadly this is not a usable product for us. May reconsider in the future if the fanny pack is bigger so it can hold a few items, and if there is an easier way to reel in the leash.Angie B.
I have a reactive special needs dog that requires a lot from me when we are on our walks. And by a lot, I mean A LOT! This leash, by far, has changed the game for me and my pooch and I am so pleased, I’m buying several more to keep in various areas (car, second car, etc) just to be sure I have one available at all times. Additionally, this has helped my training with her so much that it literally brought me to tears after a training session. Yes, as mentioned in other reviews, the little fanny pack where the excess leash is stored could and should be a bit bigger or even enclosed in a larger fanny pack to be more convenient when storing goodies, treats, keys, ID, etc. But honestly, for my situation, I’ll happily overlook it for the sheer fact that this has been such a lifesaver for me and my special needs pooch!tnik528
This product really simplified traveling with my dog, unfortunately he is reactive on the leash and in the woods, so always on a leash. I have tried everything from rope, long metal tie outs, regular leashes, etc. to be able to have him tie up around camp, go snowshoeing (long leash), go hiking (shorter leash when around people). Really liked that this product could go from being a 4ft leash tied around my waist while on crowded parts of trails and out to 12ft when we were secluded, to let him sniff around. Tie it to a tree to take a break, is also a great option. The only thing I was not able to get to work correctly, was getting the waist strap cinched up enough to use as a hand held leash. Once I expanded it out to my waist, that was pretty much it.zsimon44
