The barnacle is a treat dispensing rubber dog toy with three different sized treat compartments. the treat meter in each sphere randomly dispenses treats to motivate dogs to play longer. load treats in the largest sphere for easy access to treats or in the smaller spheres for more of a challenge. the prongs of the treat meter may be trimmed to dispense treats more quickly. smearable treats like peanut butter can also be loaded into the bone shaped grooves on the outside of the toy for more variety. medium/hard chew strength. dishwasher safe, top rack only.

I thought that the 3 balls shared a single interior section, but they're in fact 3 separate sections with a thick lining separating them. The large version does NOT hold 2/3 of a cup of kibble & the small does NOT hold 1/4 cup of kibble. Filling all 3 sections of the toy, I was only able to put about 2/3 of each dog's meal in the toy and then had to refill with the remaining 1/3 of their meal once they emptied the toy. This is disappointing as these are not large portions & from the exterior, it would appear that the large would easily hold at least 2/3 of a cup of kibble, but it does not.I will keep using it & just have to refill with the remainder of my dogs' meals when they empty the first load, but having a single interior chamber, or at least a far thinner interior chamber would be better. Or at least update the description to tell the buyer exactly how much the whole toy holds when all 3 sections are full so we know if it's big enough for our needs.DogPro

My aussie, Tipper, loves this. I stuff it with Charlee Bear treats and she goes to town rolling and shaking it. When I leave her home, I fill it and go away knowing she'll have something fun to do. The only con is that it does have a funky rubber/plastic smell that, so far, hasn't gone away. Doesn't keep her from playing with it though!mayfaircalling1

This is an adorable toy and would be great for a small dog that is not an intense chewer. The sound the warthog makes is very cute! The toy is small and our aggressive chewing English Bulldog had a hole in it within 25 minutes, so I would not recommend it for a strong chewer.
