WARNING! I have a West Highlander 15 pound one-year-old pup. The end of this dog toy just had to be surgically removed from her small intestine!!!!! Please do not give this toy to your dog. I do keep an eye on her with toys and yet she was still able to break off a LARGE piece from the end of the tail and swallow it whole within just seconds. She now is in recovery for 14 days. It was horrible and terrifying! She was in the ER for two days with countless Xrays trying to see if she could pass it. Finally, it was determined it was fully lodged and she had to undergo surgery. While I could care less at this point what it cost as I love her and would pay anything to save her just for your reference, it was over $4,000 dollars. PLEASE, do not trust this or any of the other toys in this line as they are all too soft of rubber and they can break large pieces off.Danielle

I bought 2 of these a little over a month ago for my 2 60lb dogs. When I opened my order I thought my dogs were going to be able to destroy these in minutes. To my surprise, besides some teeth marks, they're still in one piece. My dogs also LOVE them. Balls are their favorite toy though. These are great fun. The Octopus is about the size a Golden Retriever might like. The Chicken and Bear are for Medium sized dogs, like Border Collies, and the Turtle is the right size for a small-medium dog–anywhere from the size of a small Border Collie to a Jack Russell Terrier. They're durable, to a degree. My dog is 4 years old now and still has plush toys we gave her when she was 8 weeks old. They are not torn apart. She's not a chewer or tearer (though she's a herder). But she does love a squeaker, and the squeakers in these fails on the first day of play. The Turtle squeaker is plastic, and it could be a choking hazard if it pops outside, rather than to the inside of the toy. That said, my dog loves the shape and the texture of these. Cow's body is well made and still mostly in tact. It's head is soft and stuffed. Inside the body, the moo-er takes up about 2/3 of the toy with stuffing filling out the rest, head included. Fabric has +/- 1/4" nap, just long enough for those tiny teeth in the front to grab and pull. Eyes and nose are stitched into the fabric. I bought this on a whim because I saw it in the clearance bin while I was there for treats, it looked fun and it was cheap, and it turned out to be my 1 year old golden retirever's favorite non-ball toy of all time. I thought it seemed durable and it's held up for a couple of months, however it's starting to have dents where she chews on it. I would HATE to take it away, but I will have to if pieces are going to start falling off. I bought this because it was recommended for gas and bloating, sensitive stomach, and chicken allergies. First, the smell is incredibly off putting. It makes the pantry and kitchen smell horrible-makes my nose and throat burn and can’t imagine how the dog feels smelling it. My dog does not care for the smell. He would come within a foot or two, sniff, rub his nose and bark. I finally got him to try it by having our other dog eat a few pieces. He picked it up and spit it out for about 5 mins before he actually ate a piece. The transition is bit rough for his stomach as well. His stomach and intestines rumble like crazy and his stool is soft and yellow and smells horrible. Yes, I am slowly adding the Wellness, so I don’t think it is new food shock. I’ll keep with it and see what happens, but honestly at this point I’m very dissatisfied with the $70 this cost. At this point, I would not recommend this food to anyone.Mommio24

Our lab is a destructive chewer and had already gnawed right through several toys when Chopper & Otis was recommended to us. The Big Dawg Dumbbell (extra large size) was the first toy we bought, and he was an immediate fan. It is quite heavy, but the rubber bounces multiple times, even when tossed gently. He enjoys playing fetch and tug of war with it in addition to gnawing and pawing at it. It is easy to clean and its surface is appealingly smooth. Definitely recommend for power chewers.Simon

…but for my little girl, only lasted a couple of days – so a LuLu "2 star". We are guessing she's a Whipador (lab X whippet). She's about a year and a half, so out of the puppy teething stage, but those little needle teeth can grab the teeniest wayward thread and she doesn't stop until the whole shebang is unraveled. I caught her before she pulled all the stuffing out of the trout, because, yes she will eat it. I aim to sew it up the hole and give her a few more hours of play with it. It's so darn cute! We bought it on recommendation of the salesperson who said his rottx was tough on toys and he couldn't destroy this one. My terrier/ mix destroys any other soft toy in minutes!! We have had this for 6 months, at least. He chases it when thrown… Tries to "terrier- kill" the fish, squeaks it… Tosses it, catches it…GREAT EXCERCISE in the house for winter!! I DO take it away from him when he lays down and just starts chewing though… He has a history of quickly ruining toys!! And we love this one too much!!
