I have 14yr Jack Russell named Belia, who over the years began having spells of vomiting before and after her meals. I gave this to my puppy the first 6 mth of his life. Since he was a rescue dog and I found him in a trash dumpster just born. eyes closed with the umbilical cord still attached. So when he was old enough to eat solid food I wanted him to have the best. So my vet recommended Royal Canin Chihuahua puppy dry food. He is almost 1 yr old and is the perfect dog. Beautiful, smart, loving and most of all healthy. The vet wondered since he had such a rough start and was nearly dead almost froze to death that he may have a lot of health issue. He has none. I happened onto Maltese food 2 weeks ago (each time I shop at a pet store I always check if it’s been formulated for a Maltese yet). To my surprise I found a small bag at Petsmart. Usually I shop at Petco because my baby girl is styled at Petco in Edwardsville, IL. But, they do not carry Maltese food. So I’ll have to shop between stores. My baby girl, MIA is 2 years old on Nov 2 and I only feed her the best. Vet recommended Royal Canin. I think it's great that Royal Canin is creating formulas of dog food for specific dog breeds, I feel better about giving my dog something that was essentially made for her. I recently rescued an adult dog who wasn't excited about meal times and was leaving kibble in the dish for hours, and sometimes only eating half or less of what she should be, even though we fed a quality kibble of another brand that my previous dogs had all loved. I read really great things about Royal Canin, and how many vets feed their own animals this brand. There's a bewildering number of different kinds of RC dog food, so I'd suggest going to their website and using their food selector quiz to help narrow it down. So Day 1, I tried mixing in a little bit of the RC with the old kibble, to slowly transition, as is usually suggested. To my surprise, my pup went through the dish and picked out all the RC kibbles to eat and left the rest! Well, I think that makes it clear what her preference is – and since we fully switched her food over, she's been excited at meal times and cleans her bowl on the spot. We're also already seeing a reduction in her dry skin/dandruff issues, and I'm hopeful that with a bit more time on this new diet, we'll be able to clear it up completely. It's expensive, but I appreciate that she's not wasting food and I know she's getting the nutrients she needs. I think we have a happy customer and will keep her on Royal Canin for life! Did quite a bit of research when we got our puppy. There are really only a handful of dog food manufacturers who actually have their own PhD dietician on staff, own their own factories, and produce thier product without contractors. Royal Canin is one of the very few. Not that other food is bad, but many other manufacturers who don't check these boxes are essentially winging it, with less control of the manufacturing process. Much of the dog food business is unfortunately marketing, but my research has enabled me to trust Royal Canin has our dog's best interest in mind. We transitioned from the puppy food to this adult food when she turned one and she did great on both. She is about 1.5 now and I don't see us every switching to a different food.DorasDad

We started to feed Lukkas with Pedigree (puppy) when he was 3 months old and suddenly we noticed that he is not happy when eating it then we decided to ask a Vet for suggestion and he advised us to have a Holistic Lamb puppy food instead. My puppies really enjoyed this food, they both got really excited when I opened the cans. There's a lot in those cans, once I got it out there was a lot more than I expected there to be. It was hard to get out of the can tho, it was so thick I broke two plastic spoons trying to get it all out. It smells really gross too. I put on a face mask while I was doing it. My puppy normally eats dry food and seems to enjoy the crunch of it all – but when I put this food in his bowl, he devoured it in seconds and was waiting for more. The second can took a little bit longer to eat because I mashed it down and mixed it with some dry food so he didn't just woof it down in one bite. Both cans were something he clearly enjoyed and I believe that if I move to canned food, or even use it to supplement, I will be looking for the Royal Canin brand. My black lab use to have chronic yeast infections in her ears. I tried Hills' products ZD and their potato and duck formula because that is what we sell at out clinic, and it was not good on her digestive system. The ZD made her have runny stool while the potato and duck made her constipated all the time. Her whole life she has been on Iams so I decided to try their veterinary diet kangaroo and oats. I did notice a difference on how often I had to clean her ears and put medicine in them but it still did not satisfy me or her. I decided not to give up on finding the perfect diet. She was so tired of me putting medicine in her ears and cleaning them out all the time. I decided to give Royal Canin PV a try, and let me tell you I'm so glad I did. My poor puppy had a rough first year. He was given to the humane society at 4 weeks, adopted at 9. Had to stay at the hospital at 3 months due to swollen bowls from eating his bed. At 6 months he had eated almost all of his hair from his shoulder to the end of his tail and had chronic diarrhea. There for about 3 months we were at the vet every other week. They thought it was allergies so we tried this medicine and that medicine and this food and that food, finally after some things worked but others didn't. We did the blood test. One of the food he was allowed it this one. He has been on it for about 18 months. And he has a allergy shot for his outdoor allergies. Between these two things our dog has the most beautiful coat again and isn't contantly scratcing or biting hisself. 3 of my dogs are on this diet for many years now due to different reasons, they were doing well until the new packaging with modified ingredients and changes in recipe. One started to act nauseous then started vomiting, another refused to eat then started vomiting, and then the other acts nauseous and doesn't want to eat much. Hi, I was asked by my Vet to keep my dog in this food! My dog named LEGO is my adopted dog! When we got our puppy, Max, we had him on a natural, grain free food that he tolerated well but when that brand had a recall and we were forced to switch him to a new food without notice he started having digestive issues. They were pretty significant for some time. While he ate 'enough' he was losing weight and experiencing lots of diarrhea and loose/bloody stools. When our vet recommended this Royal Canin food we were a little bummed about the expense but it has REALLY helped Max. I have been feeding this for about a year to my dog. She has chronic constipation, low GI motility, and other GI issues secondary to several surgeries she had when she was young. (Parts of her intestine had to be removed due to her eating foreign material) Before now she had to have a high dose of laxative twice a day and a low dose of steroid just to maintain normal GI function. Since starting this food, we have been able to wean her off of most of her medications. She no longer needs the laxative or steroid! And her gut health is the best it has been in years. Her issues are very infrequent and she recovers much more quickly now. I recently changed my dog over from a purina food that shes been on fir many years to Hills science diet Age defying dry dog food. I folliwed my vets instructions and slowly weaned my dog over. We went threw the first 2 bags with now problem. By the time we got 3 bags in she was eating just the Hills Science Diet. When i purchased and first opened bag #3 to feed my dog she sid not eat rite away. This is Highly unlike my pup who normally gobbles all down in seconds. Eventually though, she ate the food and i didnt think much more. In the next 24 hours soft stool started. This continued for 2 days befor turning ti bloody stool. An abrubt visit to the vet uncovered no real answer other than obvious vissous diarrhea. They reccomended a bland diet of white rice and boiled chicken and perscribed and anti-inflammatory/anti diarrghea medication and reccomended possible emergency vet visit if not improved in the coming days. I took my do off the Hills food and instantly she seemed to improove. After finihing the medication from the vet they reccomended slowly weaning off the chicken &rice back onto her normal diet. So i added a small bit if the Hills bag of food that we had (bag #3) and back came the issue. Back to the vet, more test…no conclusion. Stoped and went back to chicken and rice and Improvement again! Finially decided ti go back and get a bag if our old purina dog food and stated trying to wean from chicken and rice to this dry dog food….success! Vet concluded all signs lead to this bag of Hills Science diet was the ussue…..you must recall!!!!save your animals people!! DDONT FEED

My Dogs love it and have lost weight. They are holding their proper weight now and have lots of energy. Skin and coat has nice condition and they have stopped throwing up dog food after eating. Their teeth have began to loose the tarter buildup as well. I will never feed any other dog food !childofiam
