The reflective strip reflects so bright that it appears to be a light. Extremely bright at over 200 yards. (That is the lenth of the pasture at my house.) I have working border collies and I prefer to have my address and contact phone number on a brass plate attached to the dogs' collars. Identification tags which hang from a collar tend to pick up weeds, leaves and grass when my dogs are working sheep in the pasture and graze areas. So I absolutely love this collar – it has been great for my dog in that is doesn't rub or cause any issues for him. However, the sizing is a bit tough for me. I originally bought the collar in an XL and exchanged it for a L, but between the last two holes (making it the largest possible) I wish there was one more in the middle because the last hole is too loose on him when we are walking, but then the second to last is too tight when he is laying down/relaxed. Other than that, this is absolutely perfect!
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this collar was how soft and supple the material is—perfect for snuggling and probably very comfortable for my pup! It seems well-made and is definitely well-designed, love the little touch of the "W" mark on the end. The color is CRAZY bright, almost dayglo, and looks great on my brown brindle pittie, it would really stand out on a black dog too. My single caveat with this collar is that it is too soft and flexible to restrain my dog securely, so we just use it to hold his ID tags (we always use a harness on walks anyway). I'd definitely recommend the collar and will probably end up buying some other colors to accessorize!Sam S.
Anyone that have dogs know that they chew on anything. But this Wild One collar is definitely not designed for dogs. Within 2 days, my dog has chewed it up. My other nylon collars were also chewed by my dog but it usually takes months for it to show the severity of damage. The material also feels cheap. Like generic iPhone cases you can find anywhere. Very subpar. Their customer support was also somewhat useless. Basically they say this is part of wear and tear. I understand wear and tear but 2 days? For the original price they are charging, I would had expected a few weeks. They even offered 20% off a new item. Another chew toy? LOL. I didn’t want a replacement. Just a better response. Not so heavy I'm worried about the added weight being a burden, not so light I'm worried about it not holding up. The stitching is even and secure. The colors are vibrant. I was skeptical on this at first and was worried that my dog might pull and break the clasp, but I really wanted something that was more adjustable than a typical buckle collar can provide. I bought this for a friend that was having trouble with his dog barking after moving to a new apartment. It has been about two weeks and is a different dog. We are trying to train our year old German shepherd/Belgian Malinois to stop barking at passersby going on walks outside of our fence. We are on a corner lot and walking traffic has been increased with the COVID 19 restrictions. It seems that in just a few days, she seems to understand not to bark. When she has the collar on, one low bark, and one spray and she's done. So, we are even leaving the collar off and seem to be hearing less barking. I have a 10 yr old Coton and she is a barker! She barks at everything. I have tried so many things to help her..shy doggy classes, thunder shirt, apple bitter spray, shake a can of pennies and so many other things. I finally just gave up and decided I will have to deal with it. I work from home and am on the phone, so the barking can be very stressful. When I heard about this collar I decided to give it a try. I waited about 3 days before even putting it on her because I felt bad for her! But after reading about it and knowing it won't hurt her at all I decided to give it a try. OMG I wish I had this collar years ago! It worked like a charm! She is a new dog! She learned pretty quick and now if she barks all I have to say is, do you want that collar back on?? And she grumbles at me and quiets up. The spray makes a sound coming out and sprays way out in front of her..no where near her face or eyes. It is a lemon smell for those who don't know what citronella smells like. It did go off a few times when she wasn't barking at all, but she was fine..she just looked at me like I didn't do anything! But the few little cons could never out weigh the pros for this collar. I would highly recommend if you have a barker. It is truly a godsend! My house is so much quieter now!Puff972
I bought this for a friend that was having trouble with his dog barking after moving to a new apartment. It has been about two weeks and is a different dog. He sometimes goes for a couple days with no spray in his collar. The first time he didn't like the spray and still doesn't but was not expecting the spray nor the smell. It didn't take him long, maybe a few days, to associate the barking with the spray. Bob, the dog, seems happier and more relaxed than he ever did before. We are trying to train our year old German shepherd/Belgian Malinois to stop barking at passersby going on walks outside of our fence. We are on a corner lot and walking traffic has been increased with the COVID 19 restrictions. It seems that in just a few days, she seems to understand not to bark. When she has the collar on, one low bark, and one spray and she's done. So, we are even leaving the collar off and seem to be hearing less barking. Granted, some dogs walking by and barking themselves might trigger her. But, it seems to be much more silent. \nWe had used the shock collar and it worked when it was on but not when it was off. We felt she was not happy when we put that collar on. We didn't seem to be making progress with weaning her off of that collar.
