I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. I have a golden retriever and they are susceptible to thyroid problems. I tested my 6 yr old male and his thyroid was borderline low. I first used some bach remedies and his thyroid improved. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. After the second application a few days later, he stopped scratching completely. I don't know how you managed it, but this stuff is gold! I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. Not wanting to see her struggle to manage everyday activity, I was ready to try what I could to prevent recurrences. I read about Fidoplex and decided to give it a try. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. The other vet thought he had skin allergies & put him on a 2nd round of steroids & antibiotics. That's when we searched online and found Wondercide. The Skin Tonic worked! My Vet recommended this for our senior dog. She was diagnosed with a heart issue last year and our vet is hesitant to do the anesthesia necessary for teeth cleaning unless we absolutely have to. I read a lot of good reviews about the Thunder Ease spray which led me to make the purchase. I have 2 Yorkies that stress very badly during loud thunderstorms and when they hear loud fireworks, so I believed this would offer them much needed relief. I've used the spray according to the directions on 4 occasions during recent storms and it did absolutely nothing. I sprayed the dogs, their bedding and their kennel and to no avail, they continued to stress and pant nervously. If you want to jeopardize your dog having seizures and kidney failure then use this product. Our dog has suffered from stinky breath forever even though she gets her regular vet cleanings, and we were using another tooth treatment. She’s a beagle / shitzu / pug mix, so she is already genetically doomed in the tooth area anyway, so I’ve always been concerned with her dental health and worried about it leading to other health issues. When I saw this, I was skeptical she wouldn’t notice it in her water. With that beagle nose, she sniffs out even the best tricks I try to pull, but she hasn’t noticed it yet, and the vet recently commented on how amazing we are doing with her teeth. I told her it is simply a matter of adding a cap full of the solution to her water every morning (I keep it by the sink since the bottle is small enough and doesn’t stick out, so I don’t forget.) and trust it is doing its thing. She told us to keep doing what we are doing and said she would check it out. It made me feel great that we were doing something so simple, and inexpensive in the grand scheme of everything else we do to keep her healthy, that was working so well for her.Christina R.
So I have some reservations about this product. If you search other reviews across the internet, you get insane reports about this potentially causing seizures /epileptic episodes, wasting away, eye problems, all kinds of crazy stuff. However, it also does have a fair amount of people preaching that it's legit. The potential side effects are SEVERE, and it doesn't seem like the brand has done much to mitigate those cases or fears?? Knowing all that, I chose to use this for my cat with extreme caution. He gets stinky breath from whenever he eats fish based products (extreme common for cats) but the reason why I'm willing to take any of those risks is because it honestly reminds me of Accutane. I've never had to use Accutane myself, but I know that 1) It's a last resort 2) It is practically guaranteed to work 3) Side effects range from IBS to infertility /severe birth defects. So… my cat's halitosis isn't that severe to illicit the full dose. I use roughly half to a third of the recommended amount in his water fountain (which I highly recommend getting if you don't have one). So at a very low dose, his bad breath has indeed been kept at bay and I monitor his status very closely. This product works, I just strongly recommend using the lowest effective dose (just like with any human medication) and if your pet's breath is so dang stanky you feel like they need the full dose, I highly recommend exhausting all your other options first / supplementing with proper hand toothbrushing / diet changes.
