Outdoor Dog House Air Conditioner For Sale (2024 Update)

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

I bought this for my cats. They love it. 4 cats can sleep very comfortably in this. This is my 3rd dog house I have bought for the barn farm cats. PS. They also have the whole barn to their selves but they love being up at the house. Yes all 15 barn farm cats are spoiledShivy

I bought this for winter protection for a colony of 8 feral cats that I care for. The house is sturdy and well made and a cinch to put together! It also looks nice! The large one is a good size. My 40 pound dog fits perfectly in it with extra room. I only gave 4 stars because the fan is actually really loud….It scares my dog when it’s on.Adrienna

You have to put it together and it looked kinda flimsey. But it was easy to snap together and became very strong. I bought it for my Hen Turkey to nest in, and she loves it!amyj67074

Arrived quickly. Easy to set up. Very light. Some small pieces might blow away with heavy wind, like the screw covers on roof and the side panel that only holds shut with two flimsy removable tabs. Not for a large dog, but my medium 35 lbs dog likes it and fit snug inside. Dog house looks nice and can be moved easily.Anonymous

I picked up multiple units as a replacement for 20-year-old window units, and the difference is night and day. Praise-wise, it's aesthetically pleasing. It's surprisingly quiet, no louder than the fridge. It came with a dust cover, which is just classy on Whynter's part. Assembly was a snap…literally. With the experience of doing it twice now, I'm confident that I could have another unit assembled in less than 5 minutes, and installed in about the same, there's really nothing to it. Lugging the unit up and down stairs…and chucking it over a very high tub surround to drain…were easier than I was expecting for a 65lb [30kg] unit, the weight balance / center of gravity placement is thoughtfully done. Feature-wise, my two wishes would be for the remote control unit to show measured temperature in addition to target temperature, and for a mode that switches between Cooling and Dehumidifying as is warranted by temperature, as here in the US Northeast it doesn't stop being swampy just because the room is a tolerable temperature. Putting a thermometer in the room with the unit, and switching it manually between cooling/dehumidifying isn't a big deal, it'd just be a minor Quality of Life thing to not have to manage those things manually. Complaint-wise, I'm not a fan of the window kit. It's too thick to slot into the track of my windows so isn't super secure, the screws that clamp the sliding adjustment piece are super easy to strip, and the extension bit being shorter than the main bit meant some pretty big air gaps. It wasn't anything a couple wood screws and some well-placed painter's tape couldn't fix, but for the price of the unit I was hoping it'd seal at least as well as the cheap window unit it replaced. One thing about the manual that isn't clear is "Ambient Temperature", which governs both the Cooling Mode and the Automatic Mode. It never specifies whether that's for the room itself, or measuring the air coming in through the intake port…somewhat important, as Cooling Mode will stop running the compressor within 5* of ambient to reduce wear/tear, and Automatic Mode gives the owner no control over target temperature [instead basing it on Ambient]. All in all, it's been 24 hours and I'm pleased. Depending on what it does to my energy costs, if I can't sort out the 'cool air to the other side of the house' issue with fans, I would happily consider a third unit to make sure the cooling is distributed more evenly. The box says the 11k model is only good for 350 sqft, but I have a pair of them working 1300sqft of house in 90-degree weather and they're handling it like a couple of champs.TheAmishStig

I took a chance on this unit, based off of the reviews…I regret it. I had issues almost right away, after getting it installed and using it a handful of times. It would shut itself off completely at random, and when I reached out to customer service (Best Buy said that since it was within the year warranty, I had to go through the manufacturer). I got the basic troubleshooting guide (is it plugged in, does the wall outlet work, etc.), as well as being told that the unit shuts off once it gets within 5° of the set temperature, and will turn back on after 15 minutes…it didn’t, I would have to turn it back on manually. Then, I started having issues with it sounding like the fan was hitting or rubbing. I again reached out to the manufacturer and received more troubleshooting guides, as well as being told that I needed to open the back of the unit myself, and make sure that there wasn’t any damage. They told me they would have to send a service tech out, and I asked them if we could have someone out ASAP, as the weather is starting to get hot. Nothing has been scheduled, and no reply in the last few days, other than asking me to provide my order invoice for the 3rd time. I ended up taking the unit back to Best Buy tonight and getting a new, cheaper unit, at the cost of $144 out of my own pocket because of Whynter’s abysmal customer support and losing my Geek Squad warranty on it. I will never purchase another one of their products.Danielle

Unit does cool but under Florida humidity will absolutely require some sort of water management. It can leak out about 2-3 gallons of water daily, I’m currently using a plastic bin to capture the water that leaks out of the machine. No idea where it’s leaking from, both hose fittings are tight and sealed. The only way to use this machine in a permanent manner would require elevating the unit, adding a drain hose preferably tapping into the window plate and adding a drain directly outside. Beyond that just do not buy this unit, it’s loud, leaky and overpriced.BobMan

I purchased a new travel trailer which came equipped with a GE roof mounted air conditioner. After using the travel trailer no more than 14 days over the period of one year the unit stopped working. We had pulled the travel trailer to the lake for the July 4th weekend and after setting up found out that the air conditioner would not cool the air. We went back home because it was very hot in Oklahoma. We lost the amount paid for the reservation of the site and drastically changed our holiday. The travel trailer was returned to the dealer who found out that the air conditioner would have to be replaced and they would have to order another one. It took approximately 6 weeks for the air conditioner to this shipped to the dealer and installed. We lost out on a good part of the summer travel season due to this problem.Sooner 67

Came with our Little Guy Mini Max RV. Cools off in a couple minutes. Great! Nice vent options. It IS quite loud in such a small space but we’re getting used to it (and I’m quite sensitive to sound). Having trouble getting consistent performance with GE Thermostat that came with it. Setting at 83…sometimes has kept running too long and reaching much cooler temp even set on auto.Ssv2021

We purchased a brand new Keystone Travel Trailer with 2 AC units. This unit is SO loud, makes it very hard to sleep let alone watch TV in the bedroom where this unit is located. It cools well so that is a plus but wow is this loud. My Wife seriously has to wear ear plugs to sleep because of the volume.Passport

This is a fabulous product. I have been trying for years to cool down a room that doesn't cool as well as my other rooms by my central air system. This unit is very quiet and works far better than these portable air conditioners. All you have to do is vent the hot air emanating from this air conditioner into another room which is easily done by just sticking the hose with a cool air blows into a room and making sure that the exhaust goes into another room.patrick

Our old unit went out so by the time we pay to get it fixed we were better off buying a new one. My nephew works for Ingrams Water & Air Equipment in Hickory, KY. He told us the units they sell so my husband went their. Glad he went!!! It is awesome!!! Every time someone comes to our house, they say "it's too hot" or "it's too cold"!!! installed easily, about 3 hours (had to run new wire and extend gas pipe, due to location of connections, which added to instillation time, but very easy to do) and had my home warm in a matter of minutes! And it's been working great!Colin M.
