The fold out sides do not have adequate support so unlike the photos, the zipper section of each side hangs down minimizing the interior space. There are 2 support rods (one for the front and back edges) of the fold outs that are a bit ill-fitting; if a 3rd support was added to run behind the zipper and help support the mesh material I would love the crate.lisa

A good product The Kindtail Pawd is exactly what I wanted in a crate. I wanted something much prettier than the the wire crate, but also quite simplistic and light weight. Some other good looking crates out there are either super heavy, bulky, or have too many unnecessary features for me. I love that the Pawd is truly portable, but still quite sturdy. I appreciate that all the connecting joints of the crate were smooth and fit perfectly together, without having to force pieces together, which shows me that attention to detail was put into the design and execution. I will say that I only bought the Pawd after my dog became full crate trained, and is no longer trying to chew through and escape her area. I don't actually use it to contain her with the door (which very nicely folds completely out of the way), but only as a nice den for my dog to chill in, so I can't speak to its ability to actually keep a dog inside. Like any other plastic crate, I suspect it would not be able to withstand aggressive chewers. I think the price is reasonable.Dee T.
A miracle! When we rescued our 5-month old pup, we were told she was crate trained, but when we brought her home to a generic metal wire crate she refused to go in it let alone rest or sleep in it. She was particularly sensitive to the sound and it was a constant struggle that felt like punishment for her. We hoped the Pawd we purchased would be more appealing to her, but we never expected what actually happened. This is my first review on Bloomies, so that should say something. I just needed to obsess over this crate really quick. If you're on the fence, you've come to the right review. I can't tell you how many crates we went through to land at this one. It was super challenging to find crates that were beautiful, durable, and the right size. The bonus of the ability to break down and build at ease for travel was the icing on the cake for us! We needed something to match our decor but was also good for a small dog on the taller side (a lot of the small crates we tried were super short as well, which isn't super comfy for our babies). We were nervous about spending for a premium crate but we knew we had to try when all the other 4+ star reviewed crates we tried were just awful. (In this case, you get what you pay for!) We are so so glad we did. We are beyond relieved to have found a crate that looks good in any room in the house, and that the babies feel safe and comfortable in (I would recommend the Pawd Dog Pad that is sold separately here on Bloomies as it is super comfy and washes so well on delicate and air dry / hang dry). The first few weeks we accidentally had the lid reversed (the Kindtail logo should be facing forward) so just make sure you read the instructions when building it for the first time (sometimes I gotta slow down my eager husband, haha). The instructions are clear and concise, and the packaging is so classy. Once you've built it and deconstructed it a few times its a piece of cake, just gotta get the hang of how it all comes together and where the folds lay! The door latch gets more comfortable the more you use it and it becomes a breeze. I cannot recommend this crate enough and we are so happy to be done searching. These pics really don't do the Pawds justice with the pink lighting but we are in LOVE!

I wanted a soft crate with a top opening for my puppy that will be arriving in mid July. As a pet sitter, I've seen my clients crates and as good as they were, this one is that much better. It's good looking, has openings on three sides and the top plus has foldable shades on all openings. It comes with a sherpa inside mat that's not plush by any means but does the job. I called customer service when I ordered and they helped me pick the right size and told me that if I wasn't happy when I received it to let them know and they'd pick up the original and ship me the new size. Well, it arrived quickly and and i was informed every step of the way. I think the size will be perfect but I'm confident that when my girl arrives, if needed, this company will honor their commitment and switch sizes. I'm really happy with my purchase. Fabulous overall experience. Product was received in a timely manner, well packed, and the product itself is the best! There are too many junky soft-sided crates on the market. This one is sturdy, putting it together is a snap, and the pad inside can be replaced with all kinds of options when needed. We generally replace a pad on the inside about once a year just to keep them fresh. Our dogs actually like the blue ‘cooling’pads more than big fluffy pads anyway, but they are Shelties with a lot of hair. The crate itself is just superior and I have just ordered a second one for another pup arriving soon. Really, I can’t say enough good things about this crate. If your pup is a chewer you might consider a hard crate temporarily till they move out of the chewing phase but there isn’t much to chew on in these crates anyway as the canvas outer shell is very tight doesn’t give much leeway to chew. Fell apart roughly a year after purchase. The plastic pieces / connectors for the frame literally hardened and crumbled. The crate was never used to travel anywhere either. It simply sat in a carpeted bedroom. I was fortunate my dog was not in the crate at the time so that he wasn't injured. I reached out to support and sat here since April. Yes since APRIL (so 6 months), trying to get 2 replacement pieces of plastic, which I have been told are backordered and that I'll hear when they arrive. Today they reached out to me and are telling me I need to pay nearly $100 for the s2 piece of plastic, so half the cost of the entire crate. If I had known that I would have simply contested the charges for this piece of junk and bought another crate from somebody else who won't keep me sitting here. This is a very lightweight product with plenty of room for my 7 month old pup. She loves it. Easy to keep by the bedside, take to the car, travel with cozy den. I have not left her alone in this for long periods of time as a crate when I go out (still use a metal crate for that) as I don't know if she would try to chew on it being a soft crate and she's a puppy. I had purchased two of these large crates in 1995 when I was showing my dogs I loved both of those crates. I still have one of the crates and needed another for my new dog that is 25lbs. I ordered the new crate and I was a little disappointed with the quality of materials now used in the production of the crates. The crate I have had for 20 years is better made. This is not really a kennel, more like a pop up shelter as it will not really confine a dog or cat that wants to get out of it. I use it to create a den-like atmosphere for my dog, a go to place when we are travelling. Everything about buying, assembling, and using our second Revol crate (we purchased our first, a Medium, last spring), was excellent, and our pup loves her new bigger digs. The company’s communication about the status of our pre-order was superb—well-timed, clear, and accurate. We weren’t expecting two boxes (I probably missed the detail in one of the emails), so were surprised when the second box arrived a few days after the first and only then noticed Box 1 on the first box. It would have been better if the box labeling had said Box 1 of 2 and Box 2 of 2, but that’s a quibble. The packaging did its job well and the instructions were both charming and easy to follow. The ONLY product design flaw in our opinion involves the last step of assembly: Handling and attaching the teeny-tiny screws in the four bottom corners. The allen wrench is ridiculously small (even for a woman’s hands), and getting the screws into their holes is incredibly difficult, from just getting them into the holes to fully tightening them. The placement of the screws, especially such small screws on an otherwise very large object, is i credibly awkward. Upshot: The holes are hard to reach because of the close proximity of the crate sides. It’s also hard to imagine that such tiny screws accomplish much of anything on such a large object. But that is our only negative criticism/observation. The product is overall superb—wildly expensive, yes, but very attractive and sturdy and safe. I love the design and the customer service of the diggs crate. I had the medium slate gray size crate which is amazing in looks and design. I love how easy the front door opens. The medium size garage door I found to be not usable the way it folds in and up. I love the color and the design over all. I then ordered the large white crate when they came out with it. Again I loved the color and the look of it. I didn't like that they charged my card before I got the crate, nor did I like the price of the crate but they are the best crates on the market that I have seen so far. The large crate that I got the other day did have a large dent in the base which only effects the looks. For the price it would have been great to get the crate in mint shape. Their customer service is amazing so I might put in a call to them. The directions to put the large crate together could have been a little clearer about the ceiling or top of the crate. If you put it on the wrong way the garage door can't be put and I had to take it off and turn it around. This could be a lot clearer in the directions. Once I got it together I found the design on the large crate to be better for the garage door and I should be able to use it now but not as sturdy on the 4 pillars. I'm not crazy about the plastic inserts they look to fragile like they can easily break. I also found them hard to get in. Maybe I'm just spoiled since the medium crate was designed better and was put together when it was delivered. If either the medium crate or the large crate are in your budget they really are beautiful crates and I'm really glad I purchased them. I also bought the snooze beds and again the price is high but they are quality made. I'm still waiting for my large size snooze bed but I'd imagine I will get it soon.donna G.
I have a 30lb puppy who is expected to be closer to 50lbs when she’s an adult. I bought the intermediate crate. This crate is designed beautifully. It gets a lot of complements when people visit. It feels like a sturdy crate and the quality seems generally good save for a few joints on the front and back which got stuck for me. However, assembling it was a little difficult (they do recommend you have 2 people)—even inserting and removing the puppy divider is not easy. Taking it anywhere is impossible. It’s too long to fit in a standard sedan’s trunk. Also lifting it into the car (whether trunk or backseat) requires 2 people as well. Not convenient unless you live with other people. I think I’m going to wind up having to buy a wire crate anyways in order to travel with her. Also fwiw, this crate is the only crate she’s known (in our house) but she often prefers our friend’s dog’s wire crate haha. We wonder if part of it is the revol crate is tall whereas the large wire crate feels cozier so it’s something to consider. If you’re just looking for an aesthetic crate for your home, this is a nice choice. But if you’re looking for utility and multi-use for travel (and are interested in the intermediate or large size) just know you will need to buy a second travel crate or own an SUV.Elizabeth C.

Very hard to use. Clips and clamps are very poorly made. Aside from the fact that I've asked for refund and donated them, I did try to utilize them to no avial. I purchsed the large one and a small one. The garage door + top door feature is cool, but the locking mechanisms are very difficult to use. Terrible choice if you have arthritis! When I received this crate, I was very impressed with it, I have a rescue JRT who is an escape artist. I placed him in the crate feeling certain that he would be contained while I was at work. In the time that I was gone, he literally destroyed the crate, ripping it to shreds, tore the doors off, etc. I do believe that this crate would be adequate for a dog who isn't quite so zealous about getting out. It seems sturdy and would be safe for car travel. Just won't work for a dog who is intent upon getting out. I bought it because of the description of it being a "steel" crate, but it is more of just a heavy hard plastic. Do not trust it to contain a zealous dog who is intent upon escape.
I bought this crate to contain my rescue dog who is an escape artist. Upon delivery, the crate looked solid but after the first time putting my dog in the crate, he was able to bend the door enough to escape within an hour. This is exactly the size I needed for small dog for transporting in car on long trips. Plenty roomy and lots of side “ windows” for looking out. Fits perfectly in the car seat and and put the seat belt on to hold it. The mesh opening makes it easy in and out. Fairly sturdy zipper closure. It folds flat and comes with a carry/ storage bag. The bottom is not super sturdy even with the included pad, but am able to carry our dog in it in and out of a hotel as she is a lightweight . A red folding carrier was available on this site for only 9.99. I paid much more for this carrier because every photo conveyed it as a soft, grayish green and white that perfectly matched my decor. We received a saturated, dark green carrier with cream accents. We're using it to conceal our cat's litter box, so the color matters. Love the convenience of this kennel – zips apart into three pieces and folds down completely flat into a carrying case that's included. Can be used indoor/outdoor. Zippers work well, and minimal mesh is nice. Still very breathable. This one came with a mat unlike many others available. It is a pretty thin mat but that's okay, my puppy prefers it. Now, she is a 4-month old puppy and I never would have used this to crate train her. She would have shredded it to bits trying to get out. This should only be used for crate-trained dogs, and not doing so is where all of the bad reviews for this type of crate come from, I think. The first night we had this, we opened the door to let her out and she refused to come out! Just rolled over and went back to sleep. flying my 2 kitties cargo was an ordeal that i absolutely DO NOT EVER want to go through again.(im sure it wasnt even that bad for them, but it was terrible for me!) ultimately though, it had to be done. ive never shipped/flown a pet before so this all began with a search for a crate. petmate skykennel was the obvious choice. even though they're cats, my boys are big fellas. i went with the medium size so they'd have extra room. the crates were exactly what i needed. only thing i will say is, i did order an extra set of all-metal bolts/fasteners (from amazon); the ones that come with the crates are ok, but the overruling word on pet cargo travel seems to be all-metal is required. maybe its just required for international flights? either way i ordered a set. glad i bought ONLY that from amazon, though!i was about to buy the crates from there too, then i thought hmmm maybe someplace else had them at a better price…and yep… "someplace else" sure did! I did a lot of research before we decided to by the extra large Petmate dog crate. We currently have the "Giant" dog crate in a bedroom for our mixed malamute–but we have to disassemble it to take it out of the room. We need the dog crate for when we take our dog camping. The last time we took him camping, on the last day, we left him in our cabin for a few hours. When we came back, he had tore the curtain and blinds apart on two different windows. We spent hours trying to get new blinds and I had to sew the curtains. So, this crate in mandatory if our dog is going camping again! We currently have a fifth wheel trailer that we camp in. Also, the metal dog crates–our dog can get right out of them using his body!Diane
While certainly not inexpensive, it far outprices the alternative for a crate that meets all the requirements for airline travel for my German Shepherd. Years ago I also used to travel with my Dalmatian and I used the Petmate Sky Kennel then. Both dogs felt comfortable in the kennel at home and so having to step into it to be loaded on a plane was not a struggle. The only negative is the food/water tray. It's for a rabbit, not a 90 pound German Shepherd, but that's any easy fix for me, but the manufacturer should reconsider.

I got this for a ~60lbs. labrador retriever and he seems to love it. Big enough on the inside for him to stand, turn around, and lay comfortably. It's sturdy, but not so heavy that it doesn't move around a little bit when he changes positions. It was easy enough to put together. A couple of the plastic screws didn't seem to have the ends filed off all the way (hard to describe but basically instead of a flat end, the plastic stuck out a little extra on one side instead of being flat across), which made them harder to fit straight through the holes in assembly. Fortunately, they send a few extra, so I had enough that were straight enough to put the crate together. Also, just be aware of the plastic bottom – I ran my hand across the bottom to clean it before putting it together and scraped my hand on a piece of plastic that stuck up a little (it was like a little ring manufacturing imprint). I filed it down before letting my dog in so he wouldn't get scraped on it, but just something to be on the look out for.Labbadabbadoo
The sizing recommendation by the manufacturer seems to be off. Dimensions are not the actual dimensions if you were to take a measuring tape and measure yourself. For my 55 lb border collie mix who sits at 27 inches tall and stands at 37 inches long from nose to base of tail a large would not fit. I ordered the XX Large and that is a way better fit where she can actually sit without being hunched over. This was purchased for air travel as well so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. The material seems relatively durable but it did arrive with a large crack so I will be exchanging. Compared to the Petmate Sky Kennel, this kennel seemed a little bit thinner in material and not as study. However, I order a Sky Kennel in a size Large so perhaps a sizing difference might have affected this. Also, currently, the Sky Kennel is available for a better price on Amazon but not in the size I am looking for.Zozobozo
Nicely built, easy to assemble (all holes line up for screws, about 10 with butterfly nuts).You get extra screws and rubber nuts. The cage design for opening and closing is nice and easy to use. Most of all, our dog took to it the first time. We had the S, same company. Uma is getting big now. Of course, we chose the same company and same product, just L in size. When a puppy, accidents do happen. It is easy to clean. Uma is about 20lbs now and can stand up in the kennel. Still plenty of height room. She may become 30-40lbs and this kennel will be all we need. Our use is for nighttime and when we go out. We have the gray which does not stand out. It is a neutral color and looks good in your kitchen, bedroom or where you keep your dog. The kennel also provides a rectangular cage on both sides on the top half so the dog can look out. We bought this cage just to give our little guy a slightly bigger bed, now that he is full grown. This is actually just a bed with a door, because he loves being in it, and goes in on his own, just to nap, with the door open. We have the black crate cover also, which I highly recommend buying. As far as durability goes, or security for that matter, I've seen better. If you have a large or rambunctious dog, I would think twice. Also consider the fact that there is only one door latch on each door. But that's what you get for the price.Sherry

We decided we needed an extra crate for up at the cabin….since it was "last minute" I ran to my local national chain pet store and they had one brand of folding crates like this one…..their pricing was ridiculous…..the size I needed was 3X what Dog.com was charging, even with shipping. No brainer, we ordered this one & it came standard shipping super fast & over Memorial weekend (like 2-3 days-we were still at the cabin!) and it's exactly like our other crate we bought from this site 4 years ago. I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. It is utilized in our camper for our 90 pound chocolate lab. She fits well enough to lay down and it was not wrecked the first few uses, but she is crate trained. I do however believe the bottom material could've used some more reinforcement as a dog that size wont take much to make an accidental rip. This crate tucks in nicely by the bed. I had to twist the crate to get it to fit, but since it is soft sided, it was easy to do. I have 2 long haired miniature dachshunds, and they both have plenty of room and are really happy to have their blankets and sleeping space. The crate is well made and is perfect for my needs. I looked at a number of options and could not find another crate as narrow as this one. The metal door is easy to close and I was able to flip it so the door opened the direction I needed. The only negative is with the limited space, the opening radius of the door is fairly limited. Both my dogs can easily fit, but depending on the space in your unit, a larger dog might have troubles fitting through the door. (Again, this limitation is based on the narrow width I have available in my unit.) So happy with the purchase-perfect for the trailer. The dogs give it 4 paws up.Dog L.

We have a chubby chihuahua that is petrified of the wind and storms we have here during the monsoon season… I'ved tried a calming coat and letting her sleep with us but she shakes so badly, no one could get any sleep! I had a feeling this little pink crate might do the trick! At first, she was hesitant to even get in it, but I left her little bed in it and after only 2 days she was laying in there and feeling very secure! We had lots of wind and dust storms the last two nights and son of a gun, there was Baby, tucked in her crate, not bothered by the storm. My 3 year old grandson was over today playing with his toys in it and it's pretty sturdy too! Setting it up took only two minutes right out of the box with no loose parts to worry about. All one piece and it folds flat for transporting and/or storage. All in all, it worked wonders for a problem we've had for 2 years now! Can't believe I didn't think of it before!! Thx!DEEAZ
Wow, a crate that is pretty. I don't know if that matters to the pets, but I sure like looking at a blue crate. A baby blue to be exact. This crate is small. The one piece package is easy to open, setup and breakdown for storing and transporting. It weighs 11 lbs. It measures 24 1/2" long x 18" wide and just under 21" high. When closed up the 21" high becomes approximately 3 1/2 inches and latches closed. It doesn't have a carry handle which is disappointing. No divider is included, but really not necessary for a small one door crate. The tray is solid with no imprint as others that I have and that's a plus. The even surface is much easier to clean. The sliding latch is easy and stays in place. I noticed that the paint makes it a tiny bit "thicker" and requires just a little more effort to setup and breakdown than my others. A few spots of paint have chipped off due to this. And because it doesn't have any sharp edges even under these chips; it's nothing of concern, just an observation. Very smooth bars and connections. The crate has a single door which is fine for my pet room, but if you need to move it around or transport in small spaces, you might want one with a double door. I have set this up in my pet rescue room along with my larger crates. I really like this size and plan to put several more of these small crates in the pet room. I see there are pink ones also. And I want one for my own cats because it seems to be a fantastic method for timeouts! Half a star off for not having a carry handle. Purely my hang up, since it's lightweight I can just as easily pick it up by sticking fingers through bars on top, but not too easy when a pet is inside. That being said I still highly recommend this strong, smooth and well made adorable crate!Jford35
This was probably the easiest cage I've ever had to put together. It literally folds in on itself and I didn't even have to attach the door. Once I figured out which side had to go up first, it was a breeze. The pink color makes it really cute. Not just a wire dog cage. It is just a cage however. It doesn't have a carrying handle on top, and I'm not sure if it would hold together really well with a dog or two in it and carrying it around. But it is perfect for bed time or when you are training a new puppy or when you are gone. I have 2 yorkie girls and they both fit in it fine and had plenty of room. And the ease of folding it up flat to travel makes it perfect for a portable cage.krmills
