After spending a LOT more money (over $60.) than I should have, I was upset to discover that they are filled with solid styrofoam! I thought they would be filled with spongy foam rubber, but such is not the case. However, the zippered cover is a redeeming quality. Sturdy cotton on the sides, with fleece on the tops of the steps. But the styrofoam ruins the quality of the steps. I would have returned the steps but didn't want the hassle; it's big and bulky. Also, I didn't want to pay the shipping cost to return them. If you want an overpriced piece of junk, by all means go ahead and buy these pet steps.
This is actually my second time purchasing these stairs. My first set lasted close to 8 years! I have a 9 pound 8 1/2 year old Chihuahua that is unable to jump up onto our bed due to the height. Way back when, I struggled trying to find stairs that would actually reach the level of our bed until I found these. They are prefect for anyone that has a high bed and is concerned about their small dog (or cat) jumping on and off. They are super lightweight but durable. The cover can be easily removed and washed. The only issue I have ever run into with my dog and these stairs is that while he will use them to get up onto the bed, he will not use them to come down off of the bed. I am not sure if it is because they are a tad on the steep side (because of the height) or if he just has some strange quirk (one never knows with a Chihuahua). I have 6 small breed rescued dogs that are all seniors. I've been using this for all, except one dog for many years. One of my dogs has a very sensitive stomach and can't use this supplement (I believe it's a beef and/or liver sensitivity), but the other dogs have no problem at all. They like the taste and most importantly it really helps! All of my dogs being seniors, 9yrs up to 18yrs (yep, 18 yrs old) have joint issues from age and this really seems to help with joint pain and even joint popping/cracking. They seem to be able to play more on this supplement too! If I ever run out, I noticed their joints popping more often and after only a couple days of using this product I notice a big difference. I haven't used this for larger breeds or younger adult dogs, but I imagine it would be great for them too, especially with all the joint issues that come with larger breeds. FYI, ALL the supplement sizes are the same product but with different sized scoops and dosage instructions based on the scoop size. I believe all the jars except the smallest size come with a larger scoop (supposedly 1oz, but seems to be more IMO) and the dosage instructions are based on the included scoop. So, if you're like me and buy a large sized jar for multiple smaller dogs, make sure to check the dosage instructions on the small size jar accurate instructions. Or maybe just contact the company for more accurate dosage instructions. They’re so heavily processed that they might as well have been modeled from plastic. My 6 y/o GSD is an avid chewer, but only enjoys chewing things that give off a strong flavor — he’ll chew bones, hooves, and antlers, but not a flavored Nylabone chew toy, for example. I usually make my dog "tuna fudge" or give him cat treats, but i thought I'd try these and my 78 pound pitsky really loves them. His friends do, too. I like them because it's easy to throw a handful in my pocket and they arent messy. My dog knows they are there but they arent too smelly. I wish these came in a "mini" size. I know dental care is important for my dogs (two bad Corgis). Once they grew in all their adult teeth I went on a quest to find the perfect dental chew to supplement the occasional brushing. I started where most of us would start – the cheapest chews I could find. Over the next year I tried them all. Some my dogs liked, but I would notice their teeth weren't being cleaned or their breath stunk more than normal. Others they wouldn't touch. Finally, after working my way up the ladder of dog dental chews I got to Greeneis and have not gone back since. They have been using Greenies now for close to two years (Dogs are now 3 and 4). Sure, they still have dog breath but it's not foul like it was with those other dental chews. I also notice very minimal plaque on their teeth, which I keep tabs on regularly. What sealed the deal was when I took them to the vet for a check up the first year they had been getting their Greenies and the vet remarked how excellent their teeth looked. I've had a variety of dogs throughout the years, and I've always fed them Greenies. They're simple to digest AS LONG AS THE DOG DOESN'T SWALLOW THEM WHOLE AND CHEWS THEM! These treats are designed to be eaten, and they can help a dog's teeth and oral health. They're completely natural and come in a variety of sizes, including little ones for my Chihuahua. I feed the large one to my pit bull/boxer mix. They are not suitable for dogs with dental problems such as poor teeth or gum diseases since the dog must be able to chew them apart and consume them. Honestly I was very leary about purchasing these. I have read about some brands in the past that were horrible for dogs but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase a small bag and try it out. Both my pointer pups like the dog treats. I don't give them the treats every day but instead about every three or four days. There is already a difference in the amount of plaque on their teeth. I was actually so surprised to see the difference. Note: I also brush their teeth. So all in all these really do work and so far no problems with neither one of the pups.ProudTxMom

This is a difficult review for me. While Vetoryl helped my dog in the beginning, she developed some of the negative side effects after being on it for just over a year. She became very lethargic and began to collapse in the floor. She was extremely weak. She had lost about 13 pound in 12 months. I immediately took her to the vet. He took her off Vetoryl and put her on Prednisone which she has now been taking for about 3 months. With the Prednisone, she was Immediately more alert, was less lethargic and her strength improved. She has also began to gain some much need weight. I AM NOT saying not to give your dog Vetoryl, I'm saying to closely monitor your dog for any side effect that may develop the longer your dog is on Vetoryl. The problem with monitoring your dog is that the negative symptoms Vetoryl and the symptoms of Cushing's Disease mirror each other. Which makes it more difficult to decide if it's the Vetoryl or Cushing's Disease that is killing your dog. You have to "know your dog". Know what looks right and what does not. If you suspect your dog may be having a reaction to Vetoryl, talk to your vet immediately.TERRY
My old lady hound dog was recently diagnosed with Cushing disease. She will now need meds for the rest of her life. As much as I love my little lady, I cant afford the $100/month it was going to cost me at the vet. I looked high and low for an affordable version of these pill and boy did WAL MART deliver. My dog has Cushing's disease and this was what the doctors recommended. I was reticent to put her on a medicine that she would have to be on the rest of her life, but it has proven that is works. Undecided. Really, the dog is, not me. It can be a slow (or painful) process to transition a Great Dane to a new food. I would not be reviewing so soon but for the "chance to win $1000" because, right now, she has diarrhea. (YOU DON'T WANT A DANE WITH THE RUNS – is kind of a life motto) That does not mean anything is wrong with this food, though, so I will try to remember to update the star-rating later. We are very satisfied with Fromm's – we started with puppy and have graduated to adult small breed and have nothing but positive things to say. He's a short haired and his coat still feels like when he was a puppy which I solely attribute to the quality ingredients in Fromm's. Fromm's isn't the cheapest but PetFlow has great prices and ships free if we order in larger quantities so we usually just do 30lb at a time (although if PF included Fromm's in the auto ship discount program then we'd definitely do it!). On a per meal basis it's not too expensive and probably doesn't hurt that he's 14lbs and doesn't eat a ton. Also of note, my dog has never had an issue eating it after 4.5 years so he clearly still likes the taste.Hamish
We began using Fromms for large breeds dog food when we were switching from puppy food to dog food because our black lab, Kona, was having sever diarrhea every time she ate any food. We tried about a dozen other dog foods with no luck when my sister, who owns a Havenise that also experienced digestive issues recommended Fromms dog food. As soon as we switched to Fromms large breed dog food Kona's digestive issues went away. Not only did the food stop the diarrhea but Kona and Delilah, our chocolate lab, love the taste, not to mention every time we visit our vet she is amazed at how shiny our dogs coats are. One of my neighbors actually asked us if we put oil on our dogs coats because they are so shiny and beautiful. I have recommended this dog food to many dog owners who own dogs that are picker eaters or that have digestive issues and time and time again their dogs love this food and any digestive issues seem to go away.
