There are so many problems with this staircase. I can't believe anyone would actually even leave a positive review. Here are the problems: First, the staircase wouldn't stay open by itself. It was very unsteady. It would often just close up if moved ever so slightly. Secondly, since the staircase is made out of cheap plastic, coupled with its very light weight, it would not remain still on a hardwood floor. Perhaps, it might be OK on a carpeted floor, but again, it is very light and this light weight causes it to become very unstable. Another reviewer said they had to added weight and wood to the staircase in an attempt to make it more steady, but seriously, should you have to go through that much trouble for a new product? Third, the design just feels cheap and flimsy. You almost feel like it's going to break. I returned it to Walmart the same evening. Do yourself a favor and avoid this cheap (referring to the quality) solution.STEVE

Stairs are sturdy and well-build and even though I wondered if they could be a little steep for my 10 lb, 10 month old Maltepoo, who generally tends to be somewhat of a "fraidy cat", I was wrong. Going up was a sinch, coming down took a day or two. Now he goes up and down with ease. Shipping was lightning fast, in fact the stairs arrived 3 days after ordering which was projected to be a week. This is a nice and sturdy product. However it comes in two pieces and the lower two stairs are connected to the top set up steps by the carpet. The carpet attaches to the steps with Velcro strips. The Velcro strips don't hold the weight of the animals going up and down the steps and they didn't stay attached very long. Once the Velcro comes off, the bottom steps slide around because there is nothing to keep the carpet in place to keep the bottom steps sturdy. I kept the product for almost 30 days and am returning them because my dogs won't use any of the steps that are slanted. They won't use the first step or top step at all. I called the company to send them back and it is costing me $23.00 to return the item. It can't be returned to Wal-mart. The steps are very nice otherwise.Kathleen

I was looking for some simple 3 or 4 step stairs for my 5 pound toy poodle mix and these are exactly what I wanted. It was super easy to set it up, they’re not too heavy, and my dog consistently uses it now. At first he was super hesitant and curious as to what it was. Keeping my little hyperactive boy from jumping has been a challenge so I am hoping he will use these stairs rather than jump off the sofa. He already went up the stairs once with a treat. I think these steps are easier on his joints than jumping off the sofa which has proved impossible to stop. This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

They don't wabble or slide, even on a wooden floor, when he launches himself from the top step. They would be a compliment to any room for a needy pet. Vacuums easily to remove even fuzzy shih tzu hair. In fact his fuzzy hair doesn't cling to this fabric compared to the other stairs we tried. Sticky roller works well too. Fabric doesn't lift away from stairs like the last set did. The fabric is very smooth which also facilitates cleaning. We aren't seeing impressions of his footprints depressing into the foam. The foam is firm enough it just bounces back. These stairs are NOT a block of styrofoam. We haven't had any stains so I can't speak for that. Wasn't as tall as I thought it would be. My bad for not getting the yard stick out. This is the second set of stairs I have purchased and this set is by far the best I have seen.Mstori143

I had been on the hunt for 5-6 step FOAM (fur baby won't do wooden) dog stairs in all black or all white to match various bedding sets I have…..can't find either color in the height I need. My new mattress is higher and the current plastic w/ carpeted steps I have aren't tall enough (noticing my 3.5 year old, 8.5 lb Pomeranian stretching to get to the 1st step when going down from the bed). Came across this and figured the color would match the gold I have in some of the bedding sets. Ordered this on 9/11/19 and it delivered 9/20/19. Good quality and price (with 20% coupon)……bonus that the cover is removable for washing. Sturdy and easy to put together. My puppies loved chewing the bottom step. They did a lot of damage so if you have chewers you will want to add a step protector or do something proactive. I also used my rechargeable Dyson to vacuum, don’t. The material is not designed for strong suction. It will stay looking great if you use a hand broom to sweep. I just purchased two more, we have four little dogs. It is very bad for small dogs to jump off furniture. We were told by our vet that it will cause arthritis in their joints so these steps are worth every penny.Ixoye
I really like it for my little girl, a 5 1/2 lb YorkiePoo. She can zip up to the bed in a flash, that is great for this older mom to not have to get out of bed to lift her up when she simply must get up! She often remembers she left a chew bone on the floor in the living room and she really, really needs to go back to get it for bed! My only complaint is the degree of slant is much too short for her to go back down. She cannot get her feet to the next step going down before she is tumbling down head first, because the next steps are steep with a narrow portion of the next step down not giving enough room for the back of her body to get on. I hope I am making sense, she is afraid after several tumbles all the way down. It is worrisome because to get down, she has to make a big leap off the bed. It is a big jump for a little one to make, I constantly worry that she will fracture something. That is my one and only complaint, I do like the stairs, I would buy it again, hoping one day we might find that problem resolved. It was very easy for this senior to put together and Daisy liked it from the first.Betty
