Large Dog Pool Float For Sale (2024 Update)

This floatie vest is absolutely perfect. First the bright colors are A1 because I don’t have to worry about looking for my pup at the beach or pool, it’s easily spottable. Second, it’s so well constructed – one strap around the neck/chest area, two straps around the belly AND a mesh area on the belly straps that protect your pups tummy from being burned or hurt by the straps. There’s also a handle at the top of it for easy picking up if there’s any emergencies. All in all, 10/10mobena

This product is awesome. The neck strap has extra support for them to help keep their head above water. My 9 year old yorkie has arthritis but swimming takes a lot of work for him but with his vest he was playing and having a great time. The sizing is right on the money easy to put on. It has a handle to hold them if you need to grab them or hold on to them. It has to easy clasps. The color makes it easy to spot them. I even used it in the bathtub for him to exercise with.Brina

I take my dog kayaking in the summer and he wears a rental life vest, so I'm excited to have him have his own this year! This vest is so cute, nice and bright colored and easy to spot in the water. It's secured in two locations, one at the chest and one at the belly. The chest strap is secured by velcro and a buckle. The belly is secured by buckle only. There is a mesh between the belly and the buckle for comfort so the buckle doesn't rub. There is a nice handle on the top of the vest so you can easily pull your dog to safety/out of the water. There is also a plastic D-ring for a leash, but it's not meant for actual walks, as the safety tag states. I have not actually taken my dog to the lake yet this year, so I can't speak on the function of the vest, but it looks like it will work just fine!Yorkie Mom

We had one of tgese for nearly two years and it was wonderful. Held up to our 65 pound dog jumping in and out of it 100’s of times. When we purchased this one though, it lasted just one hour before it started taking on water and sinking. The inner tube broke completely inside the fabric! Im so disappointed. What a waste of money. Bought the large float a month ago. It is sturdy and can handle our Golden easily. Only problem is the cord that fits around the tube buckled during the first time in the lake. Called the company and the customer service was incredible. They sent me a replacement immediately.Raymond

We've tried several floats for our 105-lbs dog, a child's kayak, a large foam float for humans, and one of those rectangular canvas floats with the cord around the sides. This is by far a better solution. With the buoyancy around the outside the center of the mat can sink into the water. My dog can turn around as much as he likes without falling out.farmers8236

Didn't even last a year. We purchased 2 and both are falling apart at the seems. One worse than the other. Poorly constructed and disappointed. Spend your money on a better product because your pup is worth it.DaniCO

Great life vest! My dog loves being around water but isn’t a strong swimmer. The color and fit is great, and I made sure it was snug on her so it wouldn’t slip off in the water. We went paddle boarding last weekend and she fell in a few times, but with the life vest on she was able to paddle herself back and I used the strap on top to pull her back onto the board with no problems.Teresa H.

This Beach Bum dog flotation vest is great! Fits my 62 lb Golden Retriever mix perfectly with adjustable belly and chest straps. Each strap even has an elastic band to catch the excess and hold it out of the way. I’m sure it would fit a much bigger dog, as well. I love that it has the safety handle/grip on the back to steer or lift my dog. The colors are great; bright and will be very visible in the water. If the weather was much warmer we would’ve loved to test it out for this review, but with AM temps I the 30s the water is yet too cold. Thank you for a great product! I will let other family members and friends know about this for their dogs, too.JanC

I used it twice so far…cute paw print design, seems durable and it's a nice size. I used for a puppy and my 18lb dog. (Separately). I wouldn't go much heavier than 20lbs. It looks like you could add a bit of water into the bottom portion, maybe, so it's like a water bed for the dog. Idk. I didn't try that part yet. I would recommend.JI

After watching video reviews of the top brands, we chose this Ruffwear PFD for our Golden Retriever. We are happy with the purchase, except for one thing that is very important to us. The clip ring on the top of the jacket, under the handle is made of plastic instead of metal. Since we use this on a boat and need to clip her to a lifeline, this flimsy plastic clip ring is totally inadequate. The ring on the photo on the stock photo on the Moosejaw site looks beefier than what we got. See attached pic. We'll replace it with a more substantial stainless hook or clip. Other than that, great jacket. Would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the thin plastic clip. Concerning Moosejaw, great company as always. They get 5 stars!Scott

We absolutely love this life jacket! We used a cheap one last year while our pup was growing, but now that he's fully grown we wanted something that will last. This jacket is super functional and really easy for our pup to get on and off. It gives him so much confidence swimming and he goes in on his own now and will swim around past where he can stand all by himself, without needing someone in the water. We love this jacket so much. It's really durable, but not too bulky or heavy. The quality is 10/10. The grab handle is a must and it's nice and strong so it can actually be used if needed. I posted a 3 star review two days ago about the float coat. The lack of a five star review was due to what I assumed was a sizing issue. My dog is a medium, however, the girth straps on the medium float coat were lying directly on my dogs abdomen when clipped, so the sides of the life jacket did not fully meet underneath my dog. The concern with this is that when my dog is swimming, the buoyancy of the jacket would naturally cause the jacket to float towards the surface of the water. In other words, the area of my dog that experiences the closest contact with the lifejacket while swimming, is the area of the life jacket with the least amount of padding (the exposed girth straps). If I have to haul my dog out of the water with the handle, those straps are digging into my dog's abdomen without any padding. Again, I assumed this was maybe a sizing mistake on my part. However, Ruffwear responded to my review and said that the exposed girth straps on my dog's stomach are not a sizing issue and that "the foam padding does not have to touch under their belly". Now that I know this is a design choice rather than a sizing issue, I'm changing my review to 1 star. If a sport-worthy/high activity human PFD's greatest point of contact with the body was two straps, we would never consider that PFD safe enough to put on the market. Ruffwear talks a big game about rigorous testing of all of their products, but I don't see how their product designers can think that this is an acceptable product. My dog's belly was red and chaffing after just one day of use because of the straps, so I am pretty sure that the foam padding does have to touch under their belly. I also want to mention that I'm not an internet-complainer and I don't just troll around all day writing bad reviews. However, I am a huge dog gear junkie and I am frequently buying and trying new dog gear. Ruffwear used to always set the standard for quality and thoughtfulness in their products, but they have been disappointing me a lot in their newer designs. This float is adorable! I have two dachshunds, so it is perfect. It is nice and big, and it feels very durable. I needed something that would hold my weight since I am not a supermodel, and this does the trick. I shopped around because the prices varied so much, this was the lowest price I found. Simple to put on and take off. My dog is much happier with anything that goes on around the head rather than pulled over it, so that's a plus. Since she's a deep chested dog, she wears out pretty quickly swimming on her own, but this had her swimming all day! At a little over 70lbs, she's at the lower end of an XL. The fit is great with plenty of room for mobility and elastic strap holders to keep the slack contained. Floatation works well for her size. We even jump tested it off the dock a few times and she pops right back up after submerging.Sam M

Super durable and works great for my Beabull. He’s not an expert swimmer so this helps a lot. I bought a medium because beabulls are quite wide, but I probably could’ve purchased a small since the straps have a lot of adjustability. Overall, I definitely recommend!Margo D

This jacket exceeded our expectations. The M fits my 6 month old Goldendoodle she is 23 pounds works well. I used your sizing chart. It was helpful. It helps her, when tired, too keep her mouth out of the water enough to stop the coughing that used to interrupt her work / fun. The handle hasn't yet been needed but I see it could be a life saver! My family and I are active boaters and we are on the water three days every weekend. We have two dogs one is 45 lbs and one is 70 lbs and I have been looking for a dog ramp that would be easy to store, easy to set up and easy to take down. I found it. Would definitely buy again. This product is an absolute must have for my dog at the lake. He always had trouble getting up onto the swim deck, and now after a little practice, he can use his Pup Plank to help get him up! I will say that we bought this for that intended purpose. But after he tired out swimming, he used this as a raft to stay cool and relax in the water without having to swim!Jessica

I bought this vest because I liked it streamlined design. Very happy with it until it completely feel apart! I have a 75lb yellow lab and XL fit perfectly. We use this 3-4 times per week on our pontoon boat. We rarely use the handle to help him as he’s able to climb the pontoon ladder on his own. This weekend, it ripped a little then the next day it completely feel apart. Petco has declined to return the item since it’s over 30 days. Ridiculous since I purchased it July 8 and it’s August 8!!Allie72

I was given this product by Backcountry but this is my honest opinion. I used this on my 95lb Bernese Mountain Dog. First glance I loved the harness idea but after it being on I can say I'm not a big fan. Unfortunately, the neck/chest part of the flotation harness was to small leading to the part in between his legs fitting awkward. The buckle barely buckled and there was a significant gap between the device material under the buckle. The belly band did however have plenty of room and had extra slack. The material was durable and love the vibrant color easy to see on the water. I was really hoping to love the minimalist aspect of the design and its low profile but unfortunately for the big bear it just didn't fit him well.Rachel K

Nicely made floatation vest but not a good fit for my dogs. My girls are corgi springer mixes and are larger than your normal Pembroke Corgi but not as large as an English Springer. They have the short little legs like their corgi mom but the length and girth of their springer dad. Those little short legs we all love are the issue with this vest. The depth of the vest at the chest actually makes it hard for them to walk while wearing it. They drag their chests and the vest rubs the ground/boat deck. Not good. But it does fit my parents' Brittanys well. They have the height needed to wear this.Grimm

Sounds like a good idea but my dogs each slid to the middle of the float, at which point water flowed over the sides. The float slowly collapses, leaving my dog submerged. In short, it doesn't work.Charleston

This was perfect for us to bath our little guy in during stay at home orders. It keeps him in place outside, so that we don't have to bath him indoors. Although, I don't think he's too fond of it.ree-ct77

Would not recommend. My yellow lab used the large one for 1 week. Leaked after we cleaned it out in slow drips. Lasted about 2 days before it was empty. If it can't withstand a dog in it, why buy it? Waste.of.money!Cmrh
