I love everything about this dog pen, except that one of the panels was missing the upper hinge. I did not want the hassle and wastefulness of returning the entire large and heavy item. I tried to see if I could just get a single replacement panel, but I don't know how to do that. I guess I will just keep it and only use 7 of the panels *Sigh* (If anyone can get a single panel replacement – please let me know!) If I could give zero stars I would. It has rusted so badly HUGE FLAKES fall off of it. Not only is it now unattractive I worry about the health of my dog. I have used this to host puppy playdates over 2 years. Cannot be happier with purchase. My front yard is not completely fenced; There was a need to fence off, but not permanently as we use front yard for other purposes. Fences are flexible, can be set up in any figures as needed. Once I figure out where to put fences, it takes 10 mins to set up, 10 mins to take down. I initially bought 2 sets, and neighbors and friends praised, and we had so many puppy visitors. That led me to buy 1 more set so the playpen could be bigger. Despite I have 3x sets, once taken down, they store nicely in small tight space on the side of house. Each set comes with 1 panel with a door. Since I have 3x sets, I have 3x panels with door. I set up door fences on three sides of yard for convenience. Summer days, we had playpen every evening. Throughout year, we hosted playpen for every possible occasions; puppy birthday, anniversary, holidays, new puppy debut… We initially worried that some dogs might jump out and run away, but that never happened. Dogs are capable, but wanted to stay inside for fun. We actually had dogs jump in. If you need to just hold puppies around 1 – 3 months, you could buy 1 set. But, if you are planning any meaningful puppy playdate, you will need minimum 2 sets, most likely 3or 4. The quality is top-notch, with plenty of clear and illustrated instructions that are really not even necessary as it's so simple to set up. My one and only quibble is that the box opened nearly the full length of the side during shipping. I think the packing tape gave way. All parts were intact and nothing was damaged so just FYI. I'm now going to buy another one of these for the back yard. I was going to transport this one in and out rather than spend the money since it's (I'm hoping) not a life-long need, but while it's so easy to fold and move, it is pretty heavyweight (42") so it'd be a bit of a chore for me to do often. She's never been a jumper, especially not now, and I don't leave her alone outside so I could easily go with a lower height that's less expensive and more portable (keep in the shade) for the yard.jacy
I like Midwest products as the metal seems to be stronger and last longer than other brands. I have the original ex-pen I bought around 1995 – it's survived 50+ large dogs. I prefer them to crates as the dogs have more room to move around, yet they are easily configured to a smaller shape when potty training. They easier to clean than crates. They fold flat and I can store them next to a fridge or behind a furnace. They work indoors/out and are great mobile containment. For dogs living in fenceless areas (condos) ex-pens can be linked using carabiners/bolt snaps (i.e., dog leash clips) for fencing moveable for mowing/snow removal. They are great for patio surrounds. You can buy metal tops for if a dog needs more containment, but most won't if using a tall enough ex-pen. I've also bought just the metal or plastic crate pans to put under the ex-pen if needed. To keep the ex-pen from falling or being moved if I have a rambunctious pup I bungee the corners to furniture or door knobs.HannahB

We have been using a dog crate for our Poodle, Freddy, for about 6 years. His crate was getting old and we were offered an opportunity to test this one so we did so. Our dog LOVES his crate. We call it his ""room"" and he spends a lot of time in there, safe from the world. Whenever something scares him, off he runs to his room. The crate is made of a good gauge wire. It is stiff and rigid without being too heavy. The plastic tray is a good thickness and is also rigid. You can remove the tray by sliding it out the bottom. The whole thing folds up nicely and is fairly lightweight to carry. It's easy to relocate your pet's room from the bedroom to the family room or from home to Grandma's house. Once you crate train a dog, you'll wonder why you never did it before. It is so convenient to have a safe place your dog loves to go to. We never worry when we go out, that Freddy will get into something. Because we have him go to his room, eat a peanut butter treat and lock the doors. He's fine until we return when he's eager to get out and go outside. This crate is very good. I like the double doors as does Freddy. He was so happy with it last night, he kept going in one door and out the other, over and over. It was cute. He likes his new room a lot. If you have a dog 15 pounds or under, this crate will work. I bought this for my dachshund puppies to keep them from being underfoot when I need to clean. I was surprised at how sturdy it is. It's so much nicer than it appears in the photos. I love the walk through door so that I can get in or out easily, but the puppies have a barrier to stop them from following. It's simple to add or subtract panels or reshape the playpen into whatever space is available for it. Right now I'm only using 6 panels because it's so big, but I ordered another playpen so that when I want to take it outside I can make a super large play area for them. The bar spacing is perfect. The Mobile Pet Pen came well packaged, looks very nice assembled, and the only drawback was that it takes two people to assemble and it was a bit tricky holding all the pieces together to set the top part on so we could screw the whole thing together. Put my fur-babies in it for the first time (they have never been in a crate) and they looked like little prisoners. I got the 940 because I have 2 Yorkies, and now that it is assembled, I am very happy with the Pet Pen. It is so much nicer than one of those wire crates, and my fur-babies deserve to be in something nice. Nice size play area but the bottom tarp appears to be slightly undersized. As a result I couldn't get the entire velcro tab from the tarp onto the entire velcro square on the edge. Unfortunately, my corgi found this weakness and was able to pull up the tarp with his teeth. I bought this for my Labradoodle puppy. She originally thought she was in jail, even though she is crate trained. 🙂 but now she just loves it! Keep a bottle of Bitter Apple near by to start because puppies like to chew and she wanted to chew the Velcro on the roll up doors and she would try to pull up the bottom which is attached with Velcro. A little spray a couple of times took care of it. I think I'll get a few more stick on pieces of Velcro for the floor to secure it better just in case she tries to pull it up while with the sitter and they aren't right on top of her with the bitter apple. I think it would do well outside too and I plan on taking it with me when I work outside and travel. It is easy to clean and the sides could just be squirted off with a hose if they got dirty. I haven't used the top yet but I think it will be nice and give some shade. If your puppy is smart like mine do not carry her in and set her down inside through the top. Don't reach in through the top either if you have left the top off. I can see where this could confuse her to try to come out through the top. Use the doors like a crate. The velcro closure is almost worthless and the spots of velcro are too small, and the puppy can pull them apart. This was a COMPLETE failure. My 10 pound Cavapoo puppy knocked the walls down over and over and over again–escaping. They're fastened with tiny little zip ties that just don't hold the weight of even a little dog jumping on then. Then you use these absolutely absurd discs to "keep the walls" in place. It's one of those designs that you know was made by a person who has no pets or children–or brain. Honestly–I'm depressed! I bought several sets of these with the highest hopes!
