My little frenchie loves these steps to get up and down (after a bit of treat training!) from the bed. Absolutely worth it to keep her injury free from jumping on and off heights. This is an excellent set of pet stairs. I liked the information envelope included with the 'Hello' cards…so nice! It had a disclaimer regarding a non-hazardous odor…we did not notice any odor at all straight out of the packaging. The foam blocks are nice and firm, my 15 lb Boston terrier mix has no issues using them. I like the neutral color as well. Material seems to be of a decent quality. It was easy to put together as well, just stack the top foam block onto the bottom one, pull the cover material over it and zip. Have not had to launder it yet, but instructions state machine wash cold, gentle cycle. I'm curious how it will hold up to washing.MomInLa

We love these pet steps. I have two small dogs: a 10 lb chihuahua mix, and a 16 lb silky terrier with short legs. Both of my dogs were able to use these pet steps the very first day we got them. We trained them by putting little bits of cheese on each step, and a piece at the top. We tried these steps out with my couch, and on my bed, which my terrier struggles jumping up on, especially as she ages. They are a nice neutral gray color which worked well in both my bedroom and my living room. They are soft, plush, and very lightweight, so it was easy to move from one place to the other. Included in the box, was a note saying it might have a little bit of a smell from the newly manufactured foam. I smelled it a little bit when opening the box, but didn't even notice it again after the stairs were assembled. By the way, the assembly is just putting one of the cushions inside a zippered section. The rest of it was already inside. Very easy. It even included a nice note from the company, and three free blank greeting cards as a thank you for buying their product. We've had plastic pet stairs in the past, but had trouble with the legs falling off, making it unsafe for our dogs to use. We ended up getting rid of those. These stairs are so much better because there is no risk of it falling apart. I would highly recommend these steps!Dollymolly1

There are so many problems with this staircase. I can't believe anyone would actually even leave a positive review. Here are the problems: First, the staircase wouldn't stay open by itself. It was very unsteady. It would often just close up if moved ever so slightly. Secondly, since the staircase is made out of cheap plastic, coupled with its very light weight, it would not remain still on a hardwood floor. Perhaps, it might be OK on a carpeted floor, but again, it is very light and this light weight causes it to become very unstable. Another reviewer said they had to added weight and wood to the staircase in an attempt to make it more steady, but seriously, should you have to go through that much trouble for a new product? Third, the design just feels cheap and flimsy. You almost feel like it's going to break. I returned it to Walmart the same evening. Do yourself a favor and avoid this cheap (referring to the quality) solution.STEVE

These dog stairs were exactly what I ordered. I would recommend to measure the bed or couch where you will be using it. Use the description details when measuring. Easy to assemble. My Yorkie and Shitzu love it. You will need to stabilize the steps if you Do Not have carpet. I used a single step stool placed underneath the steps. I would recommend this to my family and friends. Stairs are sturdy and well-build and even though I wondered if they could be a little steep for my 10 lb, 10 month old Maltepoo, who generally tends to be somewhat of a "fraidy cat", I was wrong. Going up was a sinch, coming down took a day or two. Now he goes up and down with ease. Shipping was lightning fast, in fact the stairs arrived 3 days after ordering which was projected to be a week. Packaging was solid. Side note: I have recently switched from Amazon to Walmart to make my online purchases due to inconsistencies and a general laissez fair attitude of AZ. I am very happy with Walmart and will continue to shop with them.Paula

This is a nice and sturdy product. However it comes in two pieces and the lower two stairs are connected to the top set up steps by the carpet. The carpet attaches to the steps with Velcro strips. The Velcro strips don't hold the weight of the animals going up and down the steps and they didn't stay attached very long. Once the Velcro comes off, the bottom steps slide around because there is nothing to keep the carpet in place to keep the bottom steps sturdy. I kept the product for almost 30 days and am returning them because my dogs won't use any of the steps that are slanted. They won't use the first step or top step at all. I called the company to send them back and it is costing me $23.00 to return the item. It can't be returned to Wal-mart. The steps are very nice otherwise.Kathleen

Love these stairs for my dog! I've tried others but he would not use them because he was too scared of them; they were either too steep or not stable enough for his comfort. Installation was simple. Although it took our little Pom/Bichon mix a day to get used to it she now goes up and down the steps on her own like a champ. These pet stairs are the perfect height for my bed. My 16 lb cavachon has short little legs and took to this like a charm. A couple of hours after we put it next to the sofa she was using it with a little guidance. Works great on higher thick mattress bed. It is 26" off the floor to the top of the bed. He ( my Silky Terrier) is starting to get used to using it. I was afraid he was going to hurt himself jumping up on the bed cause sometimes he did make it and would fall offaly hard onto the floor. He is getting old like me (his daddy) is. It takes only couple minutes from opening the box to set it up. The steps are made of super dense foam. My cousin's Golden has arthritis. I wanted something that had the option of both steps and ramp. I had seen this decades ago in a magazine called Skymall that was distributed on airplanes. I never forgot this item because it was unique. When Norway needed a ramp I remembered this but Skymall was out of business. I searched tirelessly to find this ramp. This is Norway's second ramp. The other got broken when it was hit by a vehicle. I had to buy another because Norway was comfortable with this version. The only issue we had with the first was eventually the brackets that would lock into place when assembled were not as sturdy as they were 7 years ago. Very pleased with the longevity and value. This will be a long review because this is an outstanding product. First, I ordered it on Sunday evening from the Vauepetsupplies home in TN. It arrived Tuesday midday at my home in western NY state. Free shipping at the time I ordered. Sometimes, free shipping is slow. Next, the box (quite large) was in pristine condition. The stairs are packed securely in another box inside with styrofoam & heavy cardboard, Not a scratch or dent on the stairs. The dog ramp is also packed in such a way that one could easily repack it to send it back should anything not be perfect. Third, the quality of the wood, wood finish, metal parts, construction, attached handle for carrying, stability when opened… is just outstanding. I, too, am not totally pleased with the pinkish cast to the beige carpeting but I read some place that this carpet is special…non-slid to make the dogs feel their paws are secure. Also, the carpeting repels dirt. I got one dog with a dirty paw on it & the dirt wiped up easily with a microfibre cloth & water. (I have 3 Scotties.) The price of this beautifully contructed "piece of furniture" is the best at Valuepets. I found the exact item at other websites for considerably more. Now for the really good part. Within about 3 days my precious little girl Scotty had overcome her trepidation at this strange thing in my bedroom. (The first day I was concerned that she would never use it but I was wrong.) She is now going up & down the stairs with ease. To help me sleep better, I recently bought a high end Prana bed which is wonderful for me but much higher than my older bed. There is no way my little girl Scottie could get into my bed though she has been sleeping at my head, sharing one of my pillows, since she was a puppy. I could easily lift her into bed but then in the middle of the night she usually jumps off and sleeps on the floor for a while. Then, while I am in deep sleep, she puts her paws on the side of the bed and whimpers. I wake up & cannot ignore her plea for assistance. She is too captivating & sweet to tell her to be quiet & leave me alone. I have to get up and out of bed and lift her back up into bed. I am not getting the rest I need. By using treats, gentle encouragement, patience…and the modeling of her youngest Scotty brother (her twin brother does not sleep upstairs at all by his choice), my little girl quickly adjusted to the steps within 3 days. Before ordering, I read all of the reviews. People wasted a lot of money on less expensive "stairs, ramps" that ended up being useless. I encourage people to go to this Pet Studio Dog Ramp (which does fold up to make it more movable and storable should the occasion arise) & forget trying to get something "less expensive." The 3-step goes up to the top of my new bed by about an inch short. It gives security to my little girl Scotty by being an additional flat space next to her. I do not have to be concerned about her harming herself by jumping off the high bed. (I am using it strictly as stairs & not at all as a ramp. We have always kept steps for our doxies to access the couch and get down. They are so good about using the foam sreps. They don't like the wooden or plastic steps. We had an old step collapse on one of the foam steps, but it was about 15 years old. It was used by seven dachshunds over the years. Think that is awesome.crockerbetti39

We have a small dog with scoliosis and she cannot jump onto or off of anything. These steps allow her to join us on the bed or couch, to be a part of our family. The rise and run of the steroids are great. There are a lot of steps that are too narrow and the rise is too high for small or elderly pets. These are the best. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the fabric cover fits a little loosely so it doesn't look perfect. Just purchased this for my 70 pound elderly dog who has difficulty getting into and out of the car. I would have loved to keep this because of how well it was made, but it just didn't fit into the door opening of our new Equinox. Unfortunately the door didn't open wide enough. Also it wasn't long enough to use in the back lift gate. It was just too steep. Would be great in a regular car, but SUV's seem to be too far off the ground.Jodi

This is a nice sturdy ramp. I believe it may work well for vans but, with both of our cars (Chevy Malibu and Nissan Altima) the ramp does not have a level place to set it on. Our Golden Retriever tried it on both cars but it was to unsteady for her. I was very happy and a little surprised at how easy it was to return the product. It looks good, the arc is a bit high and the surface could have been more usable. Right now it reminds me of a sandpaper finish. Not real friendly for small dogs. Mine couldn't get a grip on it. I may carpet it for ease of use.Lori

I've been looking for a while to find a gate that would fit my space. I have a 66in opening. They all look great then you read the specs. 4 panels that are 28in wide. Well that wont work. I love that this one has the hinges between panels! It will fit the space and look great! Congrats to whoever came up with the design.KmTaylor

I bought this gate to confine my dog in the kitchen which has a large open doorway. It fit well into the space and looked nice. Installation was pretty easy although I had to screw into drywall so if I were keeping the gate I would need to purchase anchors for the screws to ensure stability. For the most part this gate was just what I expected and I was initially happy with my purchase although the door was sometimes difficult to open with one hand. Unfortunately I have an incredibly agile dog and within a day of the gate being up she figured out that she could easily jump right over it. Will be returning the gate since it doesn't fulfill its intended purpose with my dog. I am sure it would work very well for dogs who are not able to jump so high.LuvMyShiba

Seems to be well made and easy to use. But if you stretch it out straight across and you have a wooden floor you will need to put something such as a rubber strip to grip it down. Cause when you try to open gate up gate it has the tendency to slide a little. I put something under side and fixed the issue.Piggyjill

I love the 4 steps, just the height that was needed, and the soft material, but after about 4 months the steps started to sink. And she has a small approx. 18lb dog. Maybe the step should have a hard material for the base and then fabric on top.Alecia

We purchased the Trixie heavy duty foldable pet stairs for our large dog so that he can get into and out of the car without stressing his joints and we are so happy that we did. He was hesitant at first, but with a little practice, he started going right to his stairs without any hesitation. Item arrived 2 days faster than expected, which was a nice suprise, and it was very easy to put together. Unfortunately, my bulldogs are terrified to use them. The carpet area doesn't give much traction causing the slanted stairs to be a bit "slippery". I was really hoping this would save my pups from having to jump to my bed as they're getting older. I almost wish the stair surface area was larger so they could go up 1 stair and have all 4 feet on the platform, then up to the next. The skid-resistant tread keeps my senior mini dachshund from sliding off, even in the rain. She is not really sure about it yet, but we are working on it. The ramp's surface has highly visible, reflective material that aids in guiding my girl up and down the ramp. The extra wide ramp keeps her from falling off as she struggles to maintain her balance due to new medication. My use is unusual…NOT for a pet! This ramp fits perfectly in the width of our Class C motor home side entry door. I needed it to transport an electric Razor and a bike into the motor home with ease. It works great! It folds and stows easily in a lower exterior compartment. I suspect that it might be useful to transport my elderly mother up the ramp in her transport chair. She weighs 80 lbs, and the transport chair is very light, so it gives her an opportunity to have a little fun while traveling with us. Think outside the box! This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

This item is a great product for it's price. Many others like it are easily twice as much. Has 3 adjustable height settings. Great for small dogs. If you have a puppy this is a key item. this is the shorter length ramp. Not sure who they made it for?? Goats maybe?? because the incline is insane…. 😀 really! A dog that can climb that steep incline, and easily jump! So again, VERY POOR design and unusable. I'd guess a 67-70 degree incline – so crazy!! Don't buy this!adw899

The steps look nice. I agree with the other reviews that these are not for heavier dogs because the foam a crunches down with weight on them. Our dog is 32lbs and I think they are ok for his weight but hes afraid to use them. This could be because he feels them crunching? Steps work well, light weight, easy to move. Don’t care for the side color, but that’s not important not really. The only problem with the steps is, my dog doesn’t want to use them. LOL. I did a lot of research..lots before I purchased these. it was hard to watch my 12 year old dog unable to climb in the bed or couch. I have a younger dog who takes her treats and teases her by jumping on the furniture and running away placing them where she can't reach. these stairs are great quality. I searched everywhere. there's a lot of junk out there…plastic..too short..not washable. these are none of that. they have a washable cover. they reach my couch, my king size bed, they are soft but sturdy enough to support my 13 lb shih tzu. they are even attractive. it's just hard to get her to use them. She is very hesitant. I have gotten her to go up the stairs coaxing her using treats and if she gets jealous watching my younger dog use them. I did come home to find her in her bed one day which I placed on the couch at the top of the stairs. so the stairs are fantastic..you won't find anything better and not for this price..trust me I looked everywhere and thoroughly researched. But it's whether you have the patience to train the dog? and how stubborn is your animal? only you know. I think it's worth a try. I'm not giving up on it yet. I think she will give in.SK
