I have the small in gray for my 10 lb. Boston Terrier. I was reluctant to spend that kind of money on a dialog seat. So, the dog seat consists of shaped styrofoam, sturdy yet soft canvass cloth, and lambswool. I like the fact that you just set the booster on your seat, thread seatbelt thru the bottom of booster and click seatbelt in place. Then you put the cushion back down and attach 1 or both of the safety straps to your pet and your ready to go. There is plenty of room for another pet to! My daughter said now we can get another little Boston. It's really a bit too big for my Boston. The height that she sits at is great. It's the area size that's kinda big. I just give her a small blanket to cuddle up with. Taking the cover off to wash is not super hard, but you should be careful of the styrofoam. It's not junk styrofoam either. This seat locks down by simply passing the seat belt through the bottom side slits. My two dogs love the seat and it has two straps to attach to their body harness. K&H told me the collapsible version is sturdier than the original, which is not true from my perspective. When you break a bone, for example, the bone is never as sturdy as it used to be. The styrofoam being broken and taped back together is a downgrade from the original that came in one piece. It feels very weak and breakable. The collapsible is MUCH harder to remove/replace the cover due to the lack of stability with the styrofoam pieces. Also, they removed the styrofoam from the bottom underneath the cushion. The styrofoam added an extra layer of protection from pet accidents. Additionally, K&H told me the knock down is easier to assemble, but the original did not require any assembly, which I don’t understand.SadDog

Bought this and received days later (paid extra for expedited delivery). I was concerned with reviews I read elsewhere about adjusting and the front collapsing. No such issues. I had it out of the box, in the car, and our Pom in there in less than 5 minutes. Didn't have to adjust the lower belt at all. The top belt I adjusted to bring the seat down a little because it was too high. It's perfect. Lily loved it. Took her for a ride down the street without her harness. Now we'll get her in there with harness and hooked to the safety belt that came with this. This seat is safe, comfortable for her, inside can be removed to wash, easy to adjust, very sturdy, perfect depth for her to look out by either sitting or standing with her paws on the top edge. First of all, I love the car seat. I have a 10lb shitzu mix who loves it too. I put it in my front seat and have also put it in my backseat. The removable liner is awesome. It took me a few minutes to learn how to remove the liner and put it back in, now it's done in less then 30 seconds. I've had this for about 2 years and I use it weekly. I do several road trips a month for work and my dog seems very comfortable. She can curl up and sleep very comfortably. I have spent every evening of my free time searching for a car seat that my 16 lbs shih tzu wound fit into BUT more importantly, not fight to get out of. Everything about this is true. I have a very picky 8 year old Yorkie mix- 22 lbs- and she absolutely loves her new seat. She looks all around- and does t complain about being hooked in either. I have a 6 lb Papillon and and a 12 lb. maltipoo. They fit comfortably in this car seat and love it. They can sit up and see outside and they still have room to lie down together when they want to nap. The only thing I would change is I would make the tether that is designed to attach to their collar or harness a little longer. If you use it with a leash then it is so long that the dogs would still be thrown all over the car in a crash and they can still jump out and get tangled up. If you connect the tether directly to their collar or harness, they're immobilized because it is too short. I tried to buy a short extension for it but Petco doesn't offer one. For now, my dogs are untethered in the seat while I try to find a solution. Fortunately, they like it enough that they don't try to hop out but that doesn't fix concerns about a crash. That is absolutely the only thing I would change about this product. I'm optimisitic that I'll find a solution to the short tether and then it will be perfect.IndyDogLover
I'm giving this a 4+; I would have given it a 5 except for the "U" bar & not enough padding. It did take 2 of us to assemble & attach in car. The car seat is nice & roomy. Appears to be well made. Wish the metal "U" bar actually went along entire interior border horizontally & vertically so it had more structure & the sides stood up better. Needs more padding in bottom & should be padding covering metal bar. So far our furry babies seem to be very happy with their new "rides!" We have owned these for both our previous dogs. They kept them safe when we were forced to slam on the brakes for various reasons. I bought this item a couple weeks ago for my crested mix. He is my rescue who didn't know what the outside world was, so when it came to car rides he would refuse to get in and once he was in the vehicle the poor guy would shake all the time. One day I held him up on my chest and noticed he started to shake less. The next car ride I had taken his dog bed and a pillow, stacked them on the passenger seat, he did ok kinda but would consistently try to come over to me in the driver's seat. The next car ride I decided to put his bed in between the front seats on the center consol. He became very curious of what was going on around him and bothered me less. This does a great job as a booster seat, not to be confused with a safety seat. It is quite high and with only a base point tie down, could easily flip forward on hard braking. I installed mine in the backseat with no problems. I have a small dog (22 lbs) that is about the size of a medium Yorkie. This carrier will not fit a regular medium/large dog well. My dog is 9lbs. and this does give her some room to move around. I like the straps on the side being more to the back making it easier to get her in and out of it. The safety strap to attach to her is in the bottom back and she ended it with it under her so she could not turn around so I fixed one that went to the seat head rest and that worked better for her. K&H told me the collapsible version is sturdier than the original, which is not true from my perspective. When you break a bone, for example, the bone is never as sturdy as it used to be. The styrofoam being broken and taped back together is a downgrade from the original that came in one piece. It feels very weak and breakable. The collapsible is MUCH harder to remove/replace the cover due to the lack of stability with the styrofoam pieces. Also, they removed the styrofoam from the bottom underneath the cushion. The styrofoam added an extra layer of protection from pet accidents. Additionally, K&H told me the knock down is easier to assemble, but the original did not require any assembly, which I don’t understand.SadDog
