After review of multiple tandem kayak rankings, the Malibu Two showed up multiple time so. I bought it and used it for the first time this weekend. I have a cockpit kayak and don't like the enclosed feeling. Tis is a great kayak. I much prefer the sit-on-top design. The seats offer very comfortable back support. We’ve had a few different kayaks and the Pungo 120 is, by far, the most comfortable. It’s easy to maneuver, tracks well, and we love the deck feature. The easily adjustable foot pegs have been an unexpected bonus as is the cockpit padding for your legs. Our only complaint, our rear hatches aren’t sealed properly. I thought it may have just been mine, but my husband's is the same. We’re on week two of a six week cross-country trip, so dealing with warranty stipulations is a hassle. Great customer service! They responded back quickly as I am sure there may be so many customers with questions and the overwhelming of these kayaks becoming so popular. The wait was well worth it as it gave me time to decide what accessories I wanted to get. I only had the AP 120 out once for six hours that only felt as if it was one hour ( had to get grandchildren from school) I would had been out for ten hours. Had it on the water for the first time this weekend. Really enjoyed it! I am not used to having so much room on the deck. It took a little getting used to the iPilot remote but now I feel like I have it mastered. The spot lock was incredible! I sat in position whiile I changed the leader on the fly rod and did not have to worry about getting blown across the lake. It was very relaxing! It is heavy but I actually move it around better han the Big Tuna I had previously. Not a problem at all. Absolutely love it!!Scott

I have a paddle version of the AP 120 that’s $3000 less. This is for my wife. What can I say? It’s a $4000 boat. It’s orange and has an electric motor. It’s heavy. It is a $4000 kayak. The $1000 wasn’t good enough. The $2000 kayak wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t going to spend $3000 on one that wasn’t going to meet the expectations my wife had placed on the purchase. UNBELIEVABLE. This may be the greatest thing ever. I owned bass boats for years but fell in love with Kayak fishing. This is the best of both worlds. The ability to fish a bank and hold your heading and spot lock is amazing. Catch a fish, hit spot lock, measure it and don’t have to worry about wind pushing you off your spot. Just bought a second one for my wife. We can fit both in the back of our full size truck no problem, along with our son's sit on top. For all the people having tracking issues it seems to be balanced to need some weight in the rear compartment. A water bottle and my small daypack shoved to the far back does it for me, and suddenly the tracking is awesome. Although without the weight it does tend to plow in and pull you left or right. The rear storage compartment is just designed to be used and the kayak is balanced accordingly imo. The boat itself is super durable and solid feeling.Thomas

Own a Pelican kayak and it is ok, but what a difference the Old Town is. Way more comfortable during long trips and tracks so much better. The quality of materials isn't even a comparison. Yeah the Pelican was a little cheaper, but no way will it last as long.OT paddler

This kayak lasted me 2 months of occasional (1-2x every other week) use before the rear keel split and started taking on water. Pros: Floats (or at least it did until the hull cracked) Spacious gear storage in the back compartment Smaller size allows it to be transported on mid-sized cars without being too bulky Cons: Molded, unadjustable footrests. Unexpected for something at this price point, will dig into your legs. Gear compartment isn't waterproof, which seems odd given the whole point is to store gear there away from water while using the kayak. Tracking is meh at best, you'll get maybe a solid second or two of going straight after you stop paddling before it swerves off to one side *Not* impact resistant whatsoever, there are cuts and scrapes all over my hull from gently bumping into submerged stumps while fishing, and my back keel cracked open after light use. This one is more of a personal gripe than a design issue, but it feels more like you're dragging this kayak through the water rather than it cutting through it at times. Might be the smaller frame making it harder to get and keep a decent speed.Spencer H

I bought this 2 weeks ago and used it twice out on a lake. I love the exposure storage, which is removable. I love that there is a paddle-keepwr bungee on either side of the kayak. I wish it tracked a bit better, but overall, am really satisfied.Blackmariah31

I have an 8 year old Pungo 120 that is the BEST treasure!! I have had MANY windy, large water adventures, both salt and fresh (more controlled environments, thank you). It is easy to maneuver, stable and has a cockpit large enough for roly-poly me and 2 35-pound shelties! It is light enough for me to get on the car by myself. (Yes… it takes a bit of work, but I can do it.) Mine came with the cockpit caddy… another AWESOME tool to take your paddle adventure to it's best effect. I have used it geocaching, island side blueberry picking and just to get onto the water for a day. I can open the hatch safely while seated and the levers are workable by arthritic fingers. The Pungo 125 is the first kayaks for my wife and I. Got great customer service on the phone picking out the correct paddles in the correct sizes. Got a very fair price for kayaks and gear. Drove to Farmville to pickup the two kayaks and gear in the parking lot. Next day took them out on Swift Creek Reservoir. We had a blast. My inflatable Tomohawk came well packed and was easy to assemble. Have used as a solo kayak as wife hasnt paddled before and we have some balance skills to work on. Would have liked to see a rod holder attached, but will make do.Chris M

I bough this two weeks ago and have taken it out 4 times now on full day trips. The first trip was to get a feel for it and man was it good. I was able to stand up in it easily and it tracked really well for its size. It glides smoothly but is still easy to turn. After that trip I started to add some gear and modifications and over the other 3 trips have come to love it.DreadHammond

Smooth order and delivery process – right at about 2 weeks but I did pick up at shipping terminal. the kayak is my first pedal kayak and my 3rd overall. I used an Ocean Kayak Big Game II and a Native Slayer 14.5 before this one. The pedal drive on this boat is amazing. The first time I took it out I did about 6 miles on the Ohio River. I was worried about how I would take to the pedaling recumbent motion. I will admit that I wasn't in the best shape and I did have to stop and take my legs of the pedals every so often, made several seat adjustments – which are super easy on this boat by the way. By about halfway through my trip, I was feeling more comfortable and leisurely pace was no problem and it was even feeling comfortable resting feet on the pedals – which is a good sign I had reached a good seat adjustment. The seat is higher than any other boats I've used and I think it helps make the pedaling more comfortable in terms of motion range. Other things – the seat is very comfortable, rudder works well, boat can move quickly if you pedal it with a good pace. Very happy with it so farKevin

Handles well in deep water. Pretty dry ride. Not much splash over the bow. Tracks well. Pretty easy cruise speed with peddle drive. Seems very stable at 13 feet long. Be ready for a good leg workout tho. Takes getting used to.Richard P.

This kayak works really well for me. I'm 250 lbs. I don't order from the kid's menu anymore. With this kayak, I can paddle, fish, explore and drift for two plus hours very comfortably. Been on several lakes with lots of wind/chop with no issues. Recently took it offshore on Galveston Island. Performed really well in the swells just offshore once I got past the breakers. Trust me, I was rocking and rolling and never sensed I would tip out. Caught tons of fish. Really stable for a 10' kayak. I previously owned the 12' version of this kayak and while it tracked a little better and had more cargo space (overnight river trips), the weight prohibited solo carrying for longer distances. It was doable but I ain't getting younger, so the reduced weight of the 10' is much more manageable when lifting over my head. In all, I am happier with the 10' and suspect it would meet most peoples fishing needs. The 10' is also easier to manage in the back of a 1/2 ton truck as it does not extend too far beyond the tailgate like the 12 footer. I followed the advice of others and got the longest paddle I could find since the kayak is fairly wide. I have no plans to seek another fishing rig for quite a while. Great kayak.Rick S from Texas

I bought a lot of these to use for fishing in the Everglades. We use them daily down here. All of the seats are made of painted steel. Within one day of kayaking the paint rubbed off. I wash the seats off after every use, but here is the kicker, they all have predrilled holes from the manufacturer so the unpainted inside fills with saltwater and there is no way to quickly rinse that off. I left for Colorado for six months and left these seats in a storage shed and when I got back every single seat had rotted from the inside out. To replace them I spent 2 days calling ascend, they told me I had to go through Basspro, I called Basspro they told me they don't sell them, finally I found out I had to call the Tracker Parts department. I was finally able to order them and they are $105 a piece! A $100 a seat that will fall apart if I don't figure out a way to fill the inside and seal the holes. My plan with these new seats is to fill the steel tubes with closed cell foam. That will not fix the hinges that are all rusting and falling apart as well. PLEASE MAKE AN ALUMINUM, USE BETTER STEEL, OR SEAL THE TUBES! I also have one kayak that has a leak, it's not from landing the kayak, but it's from someone standing on the center when exiting. So, there is now a crack in a seam that I can't find.Kayak Kyle

Fantastic kayak. You have probably been searching for the right kayak for a while now, comparing brands or other Ascend series. The H10 is very roomy, and durable. I can lift it to and from my car one handed and float around the lake for hours before getting uncomfortable. I am 250 pounds and 6’1” and this is great. Plenty of space for your supplies, and tons of aftermarket options for rails and trolling motors. There is a cool support group on Facebook for the H10 and H12 and people are very helpful with their DIY projects. I have put this on 4 big Utah lakes at ease with great tracking and stability. 10/10. Do not trust the online stock. You need to drive to the stores to find one.Skiddy Fishing

This is my second ocean kayak and I'm not disappointed. Great stable hull that tracks well and isn't too sluggish even with the XL's size. Got this to get family out on water more this summer and so far it's been great. Enough room for myseld and two kids (+small dog) and not feeling cramped. I'm not a fan of Ocean Kayak's "gaspachi" hatches but it's easy enough to install a locking "solid" hatch instead although finding an 8" hatch to fit the oval hatch area is challenging.Ben K.

We purchased the Ocean Kayak Malibu XL Angler and couldn’t be more pleased. It arrived within the expected timeframe without damage. We ordered this tandem kayak so we could take our young kids and also use it for fishing. It’s heavier and longer than a lot of kayaks, but we know it would be going in. We took it for its maiden voyage this past weekend and all loved it. We hadn’t previously purchased through Moosejaw before, but we’re pleased with the customer service (they reached out shortly after we received the Kayak to check on how delivery went). On top of that, we received rewards for buying through Moosejaw that paid for one of the paddles. Very cool!ryan

We purchased this kayak 4 years ago and have gotten many different uses out of it. Oahu can have some rough days on the water and we've put it to the test. It's easy to climb in and out of if you want to jump out for a swim. From taking our dog out, exercise, and fishing. I installed 2 internal fishing rod holders, which later became the mount for our rod rack. We eventually became clever enough to put a trolling motor on it with great success. We drag trolling lures or enjoy bottom fishing. I would highly recommend doing your research before doing what we did so you do not damage or compromise the hull. Overall it's a great kayak. My wife and I have no problems loading or unloading it in the truck. Everything has held up over the years. The only thing I would recommend is investing in better seats if you plan on fishing. The saddle style seats have little to no cushion or back support.Steve

So far so good, unfortunately it was a family Christmas gift so it has just been sitting since purchased. Got it all put together Christmas eve and never seen my son so excited when he saw the paddles sitting by the tree Christmas morning. We are excited to get it out on the water!! Only concern is that one of the cubby hole areas latch may be a little striped. I have not reached out yet to see if there may be an easy fix. I do have one question, if someone could contact me, There were some loose screws included that I cant seem to find where they may go. Thinking they may have just been extras. Maybe they will help with the latch that isnt as tight as the others?George M

We purchased the BKC TK122 Angler 12-foot, 8 inch Tandem 2 or 3 Person Sit On Top Fishing Kayak w/ Upright Aluminum Frame Seats. One of the reasons that we selected this kayak is for the carrying weight (up to 750lbs). We wanted to be able to pack it up and camp overnight on fishing trips. The kayak has been great with sufficient areas for camping gear, water and food. It paddles well and is easy to control. Usually, my boy was fly fishing in the front seat and I was able to direct the kayak well so that he could hit holes with his casting. The upright seats are comfy also, with good leg room. We floated sections of the Big Hole River in Montana, and a section of the Upper Missouri, in Montana. One caveat: this kayak is not for white water. It is for slow rivers and lakes. We hit one white water section and had to bail out water in the middle before finishing the section of river. The sides are low. But for a slow water fishing/camping kayak, it is great. We will get a lot of use out of it.Steve M

An absolute workhorse. I purchased this boat for two reasons. First to be able to bring my 75lbs dog out on the water with me. My dog, Lou, goes everywhere with me, but my other kayak didn’t work for us. Second, I kayak camp and have cot tents (35lbs each), so I needed a boat that can handle some gear. This boat is great for both those reasons. Lou rides comfortably up front while I easily paddle from the rear. First kayak camp was on the Missouri River. I carried about 200lbs of gear. Water was low, so lots of obstacles to navigate and I was able to maneuver this boat with no problem. Day two got hairy with 20-25mph head winds that caused white caps coming at us. This boat was amazing. It handled everything the river threw at us. It performed better than I could have imagined. The padded seats are awful, but that was an easy fix. It was definitely worth the wait. I am pleased with my purchase.Tim P

i Like this kayak very very much, good storage space in the back and even a little in the front, had a waterproof storage place under the cup/ phone holder. the only problem i found with tbis kayak is after sitting for 3 hours the seat gets really uncomfortable but that could be a simple stolze and just slap a new one o top of the old one.LandonB

This was my first ever kayak and I could not be happier! I've now had this yak for 2 years now. Plenty of storage space and options for what ever you'll be doing. I've taken this yak down rivers, creeks, and in lakes/ponds. I also started fishing from this kayak with no issues or complaints. It's held up to everything I've thrown at it, its comfortable, moves nice, and is more than stable enough on the water. My only complaint is the seat is not very comfortable for long hours on the water. The addition of a foam stadium seat solved this for me though!dobby

I wanted to go kayaking in my neighborhood lake, and since my husband wasn’t too interested, I wanted one I could load and handle by myself, and that didn’t cost too much. This fit the bill perfectly. I am 58 YO, 145lbs and 5’8”, and I can load and unload it easily from our pick-up. I could not carry it the 200 yards to the lake access from the parking lot, but I bought a little kayak cart which easily solved that problem. (Although light, the kayak is long and bulky). The kayak is stable, tracks straight, and coasts pretty well when you stop paddling. (It will feel like it stops dead but if you watch a leaf or cottonwood fuzz floating on the water you can see that you are still moving away from it when you stop paddling.). I would have liked an open sit-on-top one, but they were heavier. My legs fit well underneath so it’s no issue. Buy a $10 dry bag for the rear if you need to keep something completely dry. If it’s just a jacket and stuff it’s probably fine unless you’re in big waves. Definitely a great first kayak for gentle lake conditions. Be gentle pulling out the plug to drain, bc you could snap it off as one reviewer said. Jiggle it out gently side-to-side.Amy in Colorado

We bought two Pelican Mustang 100x kayaks with plans to take them on quiet lakes. I've been kayaking in other people's heavy, large tandem kayaks, but these were our first purchases for personal use and we're very happy with them! Cockpit room: We're 5'8" and 5'2" with medium builds. We easily carried them to the shore with a person holding the grip at each end. We each felt comfy once settled inside, and found good positions using the lineup of molded footrests. I thought the padded seat was great and had no issues after five hours on the water. My partner has less built-in rear end padding, so he wants to buy an additional donut cushion. Handling: When I reached an arm out over the water while seated, the kayak resisted, tipped a little to the side and kept its balance. Once I returned to normal position, it was level and very stable. I made tight turns and stops with no issues. It felt like sitting in a patio chair which happened to float. Storage: The Exopod & rear hatch were roomy & convenient. We knew they weren't waterproof from reading about the Mustang, so brought our own dry bags to stash inside with keys, wallets, etc. A small insulated lunch tote fit in front of my feet, and my phone (sealed in a waterproof bag with lanyard) was either sitting in the holder at the front of the cockpit or in my hands. Paddling experience: We tried 210 cm paddles, but 230 and 240 work better for us because shorter ones can tap against the edges of the cockpit if you get too wild. The Mustang 100X isn't really built for speed, but we had a little friendly competition. We brought bilge sponges because we splashed a lot and got some water in the bottom, but nothing major. There's a handy little dent on both sides of the cockpit to rest the paddle after vanquishing your opponent. 😉 The color assortment of Field & Stream and Chute paddles that Dick's carries complements these kayaks perfectly. I got neon yellow to go with my aqua and lime green kayak – it would be easier to see if I accidentally tossed it into a murky lake. Summary: The Pelican Mustang 100X is perfect for new kayakers who are nervous about tipping over and want to stay in flat water. It holds all of your essential gear and looks fabulous. The very attractive blue, orange and green/blue color choices are accented by the black triangular Exopod, hatch cover and elastic cording with a white hull. If I could change anything, it would be the hull color, because after bumping into a few cypress knees and soaking in algae-filled lakes, that pristine white might not look so fresh. We plan to use these a lot, so we will find out!Donatella

I bought this Kayak a few years ago and loved everything about it minus the seat. The seat bars were barely too short for proper lock in. Ever since purchase, I just dealt with the occasional drop that happened and would just re-lock the bar in that slipped. Last week I was recommending this kayak to a friend and expressed my only concern. Upon looking on the reviews, it was indeed an issue. One reviewer left a note regarding it and lifetime told them to contact them. Long story short, I did the same and Brenna in customer service made my day. She had a new seat shipped and it fits exactly as it should! The seat was even updated from the previous one I had that came with it. This kayak will definitely be getting recommended by me as a perfect affordable fishing kayak with no flaws to any who ask about it. Great job Lifetime! I had been looking for a way to get out on the water to do some solo fishing, and after researching many of the various options available I couldn't deny this was the best value in the market. There's more than enough space for all my fishing gear, and a seat that is comfortable enough to sit in all day. I was concerned that the hull, designed for maximum stability (I haven't tried standing on it yet), would "plow" through the water. While it's not going to win any races it slips through the water with ease and tracks very well. The only thing I would love to have been a standard feature is a cup holder but there's plenty of accessory rail to mount one. The customer service at lifetime is pretty good too. A few of the teeth that the foot brace locks into broke off one side, and they were happy to send me a replacement pair. Email communication was slower than I expected, but was timely. I was told that there has been a redesign of those and I would receive an updated pair. They arrived yesterday, so I immediately unpacked them to see. I'm not impressed with the trigger latching mechanism or the sliding out measuring stick on these so I may order a pair of SEA-LECT that appear to be identical to the originals.HwoWerker

We were looking for a way for me to get on the water without buying another hard kayak. This really fills the need. The Driftsun Rover 220 is big enough for both of us and our dog with any gear we want to take along, and I can take it out by myself also. We found that we were in a better paddling position when we sat on square flotation devices, and hubby added his inflatable lumbar support from his fishing kayak. Using the rudder we were happy to take it on a 4 mile first outing without any problems. So glad we tried my sister's to know this is was what we wanted. The customer service has been amazing! Took my new inflatable kayak out for a shakedown paddle at a local lake. I was impressed by how easy it was to inflate. Lots of people recommend the electric pump but I think it took maybe 3 minutes of hand pumping to fill it up. You have to kind of finesse the sequence of pumping the floor and the sides otherwise you can get an uneven final shape, but that is easily fixed by deflating the floor a little, making sure it is under the sides evenly, then re-inflating. The kayak is super stable, tracks beautifully and the seats are comfortable. I kept it inflated on the roof on the drive home. It has held its pressure for a week now in the garage. Really well put together and everything it said it would be. Very happy!Chris G.

I've used this kayak a couple of times to introduce individuals with spinal cord injuries to the sport of whitewater kayaking. The velcro strips on the floor allows closed cell foam to be added easily to the boat to custom fit the seating to the individual. The multiple hooks on the top of the tubes provide options for adding more lateral support as well. While I don't think the designers considered this use for the boat, it works well for this purpose. It would be even better for adaptation if the boat depth was more than 13 inches. When the floor is fully inflated the seat depth isn't quite as much as I would like for adaptation.j
