I bought this system just over a year ago and have replaced the battery cover twice already in two collars. The plastic on the battery cover is very brittle and the tabs break easily. The only fix is to buy a replacement cover each time for 8$ with 5$ shipping. I was offered a solution to buy a new compatible collar from another system for$120 each. The cost of the indoor system is only around $75. Although purchasing these expensive collars is a good solution for Pet Safe… it isn't for me. I want to say I would recommend this because the system works so well but it doesn't when you constantly have a broken collar.Giagiul887

I bought one and it worked very well to keep my cat from counter surfing we loved it but then it stopped working suddenly, it only worked for about 3 weeks. I held on to it for a while and got new batteries hoping that was the issue but didn’t fix anything. I contacted pet safe and they sent me a new one but I had to pay for old one to be shipped back which I didn’t think was fair since it was clearly defective. The new one did not work at all, it beeps but the “correction” is so mild my cat laughs and doesn’t care. We checked it on our arm and the old one used to give a good correction shock but this new one barely even tickles. Absolutely not effective. Bought the ZND-1200 kit and an additional two transmitters for my cat who wouldn’t stay off counters and kitchen table. Set up is very simple and testing is very simple. After setting (and testing) the desired range per instructions, I adjusted the collar to my cat and put it on. I then watched as she walked all around on top of the counters and kitchen table as the collar beeped. Decided to test on myself while holding contact points in my hand. I could feel the “static” warning, certainly nothing painful, almost like a weaker (repeating) version of someone sliding their feet along a carpet then shocking you with their finger. Readjusted the collar and placed back on my cat to ensure contact points were appropriate, and again watched as my cat completely ignored the beeps and “static” warning. In my experience, just not effective and certainly not worth the $100+ I spent on the collar and three transmitters.Shane F.

I read the reviews from others before buying this product. It works pretty much like they described. You charge it up, put it on then, it takes a couple of barks to really activate it. Once it's activated, it only took 1 more bark and we had peace and quiet. I love it! I could never get my dog to be calm when we had quests. This was a game changer for our dog. Several very bad behaviors/habits were corrected within a week of getting this collar. Obviously your results will depend on your dog and how you use this, but this was an invaluable tool for training our dog. Some details: 1) We find that the charge lasts a couple of days (we take it off and turn it off at night when the dog is sleeping). 2) Range is at least a few hundred yards. I purchased this and trained my dog Neko with it with a professional trainer a few months ago. This device was a lifesaver. Neko is a Shiba inu and they are extremely high energy, love to run and are very intelligent and curious. Neko escaped my fenced yard 4 times by digging, and I have heard that some Shibas can jump and scale fences up to 8ft. So I defitly needed something. I’ve tested this on myself and the “shock” is not so bad if you stay below 20 it just allows the dog to “hear” you in stressful or loud/distracting situations, and it lets them connect the command with the action without you chasing them or forcing them into it. I have never purchased a training collar before but I was desperate with a eight month old puppy who had some habits that seemed impossible to break. The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesn’t really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. We have a very very stubborn German Shepherd male who barks through all of the cheaper collars we have bought him. I swear he barks at the wind or an ant crawling past the gate it was unbearable and many many sleepless nights. We bought the Dogtra YS600 and had to buy longer prongs as his hair is SO thick. Setting 1 and 2 did not do anything so we turned it up to level 3 and he barked and let out a big Yelp! And was quiet straight away. I received the collar and opened it to put on my cat. I immediately noticed the pleasant smell of the collar and how soft and flexible the collar was. It went on with ease and was simple to put on. The purple color was a nice contrast as well. The cat is leaving it alone and when I pick her up that light scent was very nice and not over powering. I highly recommend the color for comfort, style and I really like that the effectiveness is for 7 months. Before using the collar I had a situation were my other pet who is a dog woke up one morning and couldn't walk and was in pain. As it turned out he had contracted lymes disease from a tick. He is doing better but was on medication for a month and a very expensive hospital visit for him. My decision was to get collars that I can trust and be confident in. That is why Hartz was the choice for me. It lasts 7 months and I don't have to worry about any of my animals for the season. With it being so easy to put on and having it last long is a bonus. I received a Hartz® UltraGuard® Flea & Tick Collar for Dogs – White in exchange for a review. I loved the fact that there is enough length in the collar that it would fit multiple size dogs. I put this on my 62 pound Pittie the very first day I received it. I did have a little trouble getting the end through the buckles but luckily, my dog is very patient. I haven’t noticed any adverse effects on his skin nor scratching where the collar is. I do have some very tall grass that he likes to run and play in on a regular basis and I typically use some sort of OTC drops from the store. My dogs go to the groomer for their baths every 6 weeks and I was shocked when they told me my german shepherd had a few fleas on him and the groomer informed me that fleas were bad this year because my dogs have never had fleas., so in a rush, I ordered these flea collars and they seem to work but I also use a spray bottle with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with 2 cups of water and spray it on my hands then rub my dogs down before they go outside in the mornings first of day then I spray their beds a spritz of it and voila!!!! no more fleas!!!!!! Obviously your results will depend on your dog and how you use this, but this was an invaluable tool for training our dog. Some details: 1) We find that the charge lasts a couple of days (we take it off and turn it off at night when the dog is sleeping). 2) Range is at least a few hundred yards. I purchased this and trained my dog Neko with it with a professional trainer a few months ago. This device was a lifesaver. Neko is a Shiba inu and they are extremely high energy, love to run and are very intelligent and curious. Neko escaped my fenced yard 4 times by digging, and I have heard that some Shibas can jump and scale fences up to 8ft. So I defitly needed something. I’ve tested this on myself and the “shock” is not so bad if you stay below 20 it just allows the dog to “hear” you in stressful or loud/distracting situations, and it lets them connect the command with the action without you chasing them or forcing them into it. I have never purchased a training collar before but I was desperate with a eight month old puppy who had some habits that seemed impossible to break. He was dominating our entire existence with his very anti social and unwanted behaviour. I have three big dogs and we hike twice a day. I am a veterinarian and although I have done training with two, the third came as an unexpected surprise and so my life of control, became chaos with a pack. I trained with a qualified trainer using the Dogtra collars and it has alleviated my stress. The dogs are so well behaved with the collars on. There are so many trainers that don’t believe in E. Collars but then again they don’t believe in multidog households and clicker training just doesn’t cut it when there’s three and a busy schedule. I am able to fit two hour hikes into my day along my own training at the gym daily and a full work day ( not to mention chores etc). These collars are simply wonderful AND reliable( my friend bought some cheesy version from another company and it doesn’t even compare!).
