I am hesitant to use these types of products compulsively for preventive measures. Fortunately, We’ve not been in an area where fleas are out of control outside, as we have had problems in the past with other pets. These types of topical medicines would only be effective for a maximum of 1 1/2 to 2 weeks at best. And then our previous dog, and coincidentally our cat also, developed tumors where these types of medicines were being applied. I can’t say for certain that they were the cause. But it’s very suspicious that it happened in both animals. The dog we noticed first. And maybe a year or so later our cat. They both lived to past 11 years. And our dog was also on meds for epilepsy. Only briefly because he would spit out the meds no matter how clever I thought I was in hiding them. So, since he refused to take them, I stopped trying to make him. His grand mal seizures were frequent and long lasting. But, he just got better at spitting out the pills, even if I shoved them down his throat. i have only had to use these topicals a few times in our current dogs short life, so far. And it seemed to work fine and for as long as it said it was supposed to work. And when she or we seem a bit more itchy, I apply it again, and wait until it’s “needed”, again- as opposed to routinely scheduled once every month. And in my opinion, it works better than capstar, which is meant as a short acting topical to immediately relieve a flea problem getting out of control. But for whatever reason, this works better for us, even though it might take a few days to really notice results. (I never really noticed immediate results with. Capstar. It helped make the problem not get any worse. But it didn’t solve the problem either.)shelly.c

My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I had been struggling with a slight flea problem with my dog who is routinely treated with K9 ADVANTAGE II topical flea protection. After a vacation we came home with some fleas and my dog was scratching himself crazy. Topical meds were obviously not working. I tried vinegar and palmolive baths (with essence oils) there werent a lot of fleas but only a few are too many. Vaccuming and household sprays were not eliminating the tiny fleas i saw. I finally decided a medicated ‘dip’ was what i needed…found this shampoo at Walmarts and noticed it had a higher % of pyrethrins than anything else so i gave it a try. I followed the directions,used rubber gloves, lathered up good and let it sit about 7-8 minutes. I saw a few fleas wash off with the rinse….hours later my dog is sleeping peacefully and i cannot find even 1 flea no matter how hard i try. I love this shampoo! You only need a tiny amount to lather the whole dog and it doesnt smell horrible. If you have a flea problem try this shampoo (but dont forget your house must also be flea proofed).Fav

I really like that it uses a natural ingredient to kill the pests instead of a strange chemical that could endanger my pet or the environment. It is not to be used more often than every seven days. Synergy Labs makes this product. The instructions are to wet the animals coat first with warm water. Start lathering the shampoo in at their head and ears first. Then lather the neck, chest, middle and hindquarters. Finish with the legs last paying special attention to the foot pads and especially between the toes. Be sure to get the under body areas well. Make sure to keep out of the eyes as it will cause discomfort. Leave the lathered shampoo on for five minutes before doing a careful rinse. I have been battling fleas on my inside/ outside dog and 2 indoor cats. I have had little to no results with just about everything. I did my research and bought this shampoo based on reviews and that I could use it in both the dog and the cats. Both cats are older and I’m scared of the topical monthly flea meds. This seemed like a more harmless option. The first cat seems to have done well. My second cat started foaming at the mouth and drooling heavily. I immediately rinsed her and wrapped her in a towel. My 7 week old tri color bully has vomited in his third day at our house, I googled and saw it said it’s normal for pups to do this sometimes, no worries. Two days later early morning(6:50am EST) he vomited then about 10 minutes later he pooped out about 8 long worms, found they were Roundworms. I immediately went to Meijer and grabbed two boxes of this 7 Way De-Wormer for Small Dogs and gave him a tablet which he happily chomped down. He passed loads of dead worms in each stool that day(like twice). The next morning his belly wasn’t bloated anymore but he wouldn’t eat much but drank water. By the evening he was felling great and back running through the house, he passed about 3-4 live worms in 2 of his 3 stools that day, the third stool had no worms! On the third day there were no more worms in his stool but I gave him the other tablet because I saw a very good vet recommend one deworming tablet day one, a second on day three then again in two weeks. It’s day 6 and he’s been worm free for going on 3 days! It says not to use til 12 weeks on the box, however if your pup is over 6 lbs then I think its okay to use. My little girl is a pit and catahoula mix and shes only about 7-8 weeks old and she handled the dewormer very well. She passed a HUGE tapeworm 🤢 we decided to deworm her due to tape worm segments being passed every so often which is absolutely gross. It took a little over 24 hours for her to pass everything. This is the single most effective and affordable dewormer for dogs. I will recommend this dewormer to everyone and use it for any puppies that I have in the future. Liquid dewormer from the feed store has NOTHING on this stuff and my puppy wanted to eat more of the tablet so I guess it was good. Seriously, get this for your pet you will not regret it.Sara

These worked right away for my 12 pound 1 year old dog. It took overnight to see the results. I snuck it into a chewy treat before bedtime and he didn’t notice it at all since they are super small. After receiving only 1 of the 2 pills (give second pill 2-3 months later for lasting results), he didn’t have anymore worms coming out of his poop and randomly out of his butt. He was constipated for about two weeks to a month and I don’t know if it had anything to do with the worms or the pill but he’s never had that issue before. It was a pretty quick fix by switching out his food temporarily for soft/watery food. Do not think twice about getting it for them as it is life threatening to wait too long for a vet visit. My cats are mainly indoor cats but I do take them on leash walks a few times a week. I absolutely love this product. The packaging suggests applying over a week if needed which worked great. I wrote a review about ten months ago slightly more than two days after applying this product. But there were issues after that time that I feel I should share. I was beyond disappointed with how terribly oily and messy it was — no one could even touch or play with my dog, which he didn't understand of course. Application left a huge oily spot that was not absorbed even after a week and I could not begin to rub it in – trying to do that just spread it around a larger area on my dog and got it all over myself. And it readily rubbed off on anything he lay on or brushed by. After a few days the product smelled bad as well. And I found a tick walking right through the oily area so it obviously does not repel ticks. When it became obvious the product was not going to be absorbed, I tried washing the area. After washing it three times there was still oily residue. In addition, my dog's hair had become darkened and discolored on his back and shoulder area where the product had been applied and where it had run. After ten months it still has not returned to what was its normal color before the product was applied and I don't know that it ever will. Another reason I am writing a follow up to my first review is that even after all the comments here about the ineffectiveness, oiliness, messiness, problems to dogs, staining of dog beds/furniture/clothing, etc. there is nothing in the description of the product to indicate that there have been any efforts to improve it. And there is still no disclosure about how truly messy it is, no warnings about the staining, etc. Consumers deserve to know this information. There are sufficient numbers of problems mentioned here that these comments should be taken seriously by the manufacturer and efforts be made to improve the product. I certainly take seriously that my dog's coat seems permanently discolored, all the time wasted on this product and trying to clean it off my dog, and the confusion it caused my dog because I could not handle him normally for days. It truly created a substantial disruption to our lives for more than a week. Not to speak of the time and hassle to return the product. So address these issues and maybe I'll try it again. I would love to have a non-toxic, natural product to use for fleas and ticks when needed but this is not the answer.

This shampoo works pretty well. It washed away the fleas. It's for the sake of killing fleas not necessarily repelling them. If you like natural treatments using lavender oil as preventative measure can help with that. We got a very young pup infested with fleas and the fleas left sores on the poor pup. After a wash of this you could already tell the sores were looking much better and the fleas were falling off. I wish I took before and after photos of the dog. I like this product. It works very well when sprayed directly on infected areas , i.e; carpets and bedding. Most Walmart stores don't carry this product where I live. I found it by chance at a store I had never shopped at and decided to try it out. I couldn't find it again when I wanted to get more so I looked it up on line and then decided to order 4 more bottles from Walmart on line. A partial order (one bottle) took a week and a half to get to the store closer to where I live and it had leaked out half its contents. A refund was given. Never heard about the other bottles but will check my bank statement to see if it I was charged for it. I still like this product but will have to drive out of my way to pick it up at the other Walmart in another city. It has a pleasant smell, is all natural and comes in powder, shampoo, and spray form. I have tried the shampoo and spray and purchased to powder too. It seemed super oily to me, however I'm sure that is necessary for it to be effective. Also I got some on my skin and it did not cause irritation, even though my skin is very sensitive. To protect my dog from ticks, I put this on my dog once a month in the summer. I go camping a lot and while we were just in the woods for the weekend on the North Shore he didn’t get one tick. Word of advice though is to not let the oil touch anything because it stains and gets everywhere. Unfortunately I bought this for 2 of our dogs who had ticks. It was a good deal, and cheaper than most other good things. Now I know that sometimes there's this one in a million chance that something really bad can happen, but you never think you will be that 1. Within 24 hours of applying these tick drops to one of our dogs(exactly as instructed) we woke up the next morning to find him dead. The other dog is still perfectly fine. I assume he had a reaction overnight unfortunately, and we didn't have the opportunity to do anything about it. Now I'm not blaming anyone, but I cannot recommend these drop for that reason. I also do not like the fact that these are different in the way you apply them compared to any other tick drops we have tried. This particular brand wants you to apply it down the entire length of the dog's back, instead of just behind the nape of the neck. I feel that this contributes to it not being as safe as others. Much like Advantage, this product is not good if your cat already has fleas. I've used a few boxes as i have a few cats and made sure to split the hair and I still found fleas on my cats the next day and everyday after. You are better off using Revolution. I honestly think this is more of a placebo effect type deal, it’s cheaper than most other sprays I’ve tried (I’ve tried almost everything) and it Does work when sprayed directly on a flea. The flea starts acting really weird immediately, stops being able to jump and eventually dies. The problem is, in most cases you just spray this around, not directly on fleas. Personally I hate the smell too but I’ve had worse. We have 3 pets, I’ve been dealing with a Severe infestation for months, every time I think I’m getting it under control, it gets worse. As you’ve read on many other reviews, this product is dangerous and potentially deadly for cats. We gave our cat, Loki, this product and not even 4 hours later she started displaying signs of progressing toxicity… she began to present tremors, antisocial behavior and discomfort. She could not find comfort at all, and she seemed to be agitated and had problems walking. So we took her to the ER around midnight and they kept her overnight to stabilize her. The next morning she was discharged – but still presents this behavior. I fear that if we hadn’t taken her in, this product would have killed her. Only time will tell if it leaves irreversible neurological damage…

This company has a bad history of product related deaths and damages – and I see they’ve faced a few lawsuits and recalls as well. This company needs to compensate for all damages, and shut down immediately! This has gone on for 7+ years to no avail.

Within hours of pouring this down my dogs back it started to affect her nervous system causing her to continuously rock side to side in a sitting, laying, and standing position. It caused extreme discomfort and she became very anti social. Luckily a member of my family is a veterinary and she told me to give her a bath immediately with “DAWN DISH SOAP” and purchase some “ SPRING VALLEY ACTIVATED CHARCOAL SUPPLEMENTS” and give her 20!!

If you’re experiencing any of the sort I would wash my pet immediately and give him/her the correct amount of pills based on their weight.

Im been an Advantage fan for a good 15 years. It is the only 100% effective flea treatment period. Believe me I've tried them all. Had fleas so bad that when it rained and you walked in my yard your legs would get covered. After using the Advantage Drops they were just gone. I mean gone. Its worked so well after years I only have to use it when my nieces dog visits. This time I decided to try this spray abd so far so good. He was in bad shape when he got to my house. Chewing himself up. I suspect he not only had fleas but also had dog lice. Only been a couple of weeks and he's looking much better. I included pictures to show his improvement. I had purchased the flea and tick drops for my 8 month old miniature pinscher chihuahua after already having his flea and tick treatments administered by my vet twice prior to using this product. I was not going to be able to go through the vet for his 3rd monthly treatment as I was a little short on cash that month. I did some research on other products and was In complete shock at the outrageous pricing for certain brands starting from 50-60 dollars for a single treatment and then escalate higher in price from there. I then came across this product and the description and price I had read online caught my eye so I decided to purchase the flea and tick treatment for dogs and puppies weighing 2.5-6kgs. I administered the treatment to Mylo who mind you did not have any fleas or anything at the time , just keeping up on flea prevention and after everything seemed to be fine. No itching or any side effects were present. It's now been roughly 3 or 4 days since Mylo was treated and he now has been scratching excessively and I found 1 lone flea on him he hadn't had before. I will never buy this product nor recommend it to anyone . It's exactly as they say, you get what you pay for . So disappointed. Animals best Interest should not only be present when making these products but top priority, not just the money it's going to bring in knowing these things are going to happen but it's okay because they're listed on the box. It was easy enough to apply to my 6 month old kitten, he didnt put up that much of a fuss with my spraying it on him and rubbing it in, and I was also very surprised that he didnt start going crazy afterwards like other anti itch products I had used before, causing stinging and irritation.
