My Labrador had stitches in her front leg right on the ankle joint so it was at high risk of infection as very close to the bone. I was hoping this would negate the need for the huge buster collar however, she would still lick at it through the sleeve and make it wet therefore increasing the risk of infection to the wound. She therefore still had to wear the buster collar as well as the sleeve to stop her licking it. Within a couple of days, there was a hole in the material of the sleeve and since then, a further tear has developed, so the quality of the material is not that good. She has also worked out how to get her leg out of it so all in all, it hasn’t been that great! That said, I would still recommend using one as it was better than not having the wound covered at all but for me, it didn’t negate the need for a buster collar unfortunately.Julieann
1 Very happy owner and one calm snoring Dog. He`s been at the top of his leg the last few days and licked it raw . No socks long enough and a long sleeved T shirt was not a success . I love this thing, i bought it hoping it will stop my 10 year old border collie from chewing up his legs. My Doberman Pinscher "Harry" had broken his front right "pinky toe" bone rough housing. My vet Took care of him with a specially made splint and wrap. I adopted an older girl from our local shelter. From what we could tell, she had been on the streets for a long time, but seemed healthy. Have had pain, aches and muscle inflammation for years particularly on my left knee, ankle and foot; to make matters worse about a year ago the Dr. diagnosed me with an osteoarthritic knee; before that time and since have used many products and devices (non-prescription) seeking to alleviate pain and inflammation. This product is a lifesaver! Tried soo many different things for a skin tag on my pup's back leg. Its just on the other side of his hock, so bandages limited his mobility and he ended up pulling most of them off. He’s 11 and has never had a cone in his life. This is comfortable for him and actually gives him some stability. He has not tried to pull it off once and his skin tag is finally healing. I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. She had hair falling out, was rubbed raw, swollen, itchy, scabby… I used this with a combo of fly/gnat spray every night after brushing and it was magically healed in a week. I will always have a bottle of Banixx in my house now. I have a Great Dane mix that has severe skin sensitivities. I have no big toe joints left in my feet. Other than surgery, which the doctor told me I would have done, there was nothing I could do about it. An older person told me about horse liniment and told me what to get. I can't thank them enough. I rub this in my toes every night and have not had any trouble with sleeping. I generally buy the 4 pack of vet wrap but figured that these were cheaper since I have a horse with a foot injury that needs to be wrapped each day. You cannot tear this straight across the width like regular vet wrap, it splits into multiple strips. Not good when you're sitting on the stall floor trying to wrap a rear hoof. I need a clean rip and to be done with it, instead I'm fighting with a wrap that is still attached to the horse.leslie02825

Don't wrap tightly as It can shrink/tighten if it gets wet, but do crimp edges together firmly so that it stays on securely. First off, this product was shipped to me with every precaution against seepage, spillage or the bottle leaking (see photos). I order a lot online and was very impressed at how the product was packed for shipment. The bottle was encased in a bubble, sealed pack that I had to cut open with scissors to access the 32 ounce bottle. This product contains 1600mg of Glucosamine Hcl, 1200 MG Chondroitin Sulfate and undisclosed amount of HA (Hyaluronic Acid). The formula also contains aloe vera juice, citric acid, potassium sorbate, vegetable glycerin, Stevia and water. There are some cautions such as pregnant or animals intended for breeding that safe use hasn't been proven so read the caution section carefully. For my small dog, the directions stated to shake the product well, and measure out two teaspoons; there is a weight chart to indicate what dosage you should use according to your pet's weight. (Refrigerate after opening the product). I mixed the formula in with my dog's food, and she didn't seem to turn her nose up at her food, she is a very picky eater. She finished her food with no issue each time I added the liquid which was daily. I haven't used this for very long but after a few days, she seems to be moving with more ease. I will continue to give her this supplement because I believe just like humans, as our pet's age their joints begin to deteriorate and anything I can do to lessen her pain as she ages, I'm all for.Paige

A few years ago my Chihuahuas neck was broken in a fight with a Great Dane. The vet wanted to put him down but I said I will nurse him back. Excellent for older dogs. My dog is now toothless, and a very picky eater. All his food is specially prepared so we are limited in what we can feed on top of his pickiness. This vitamin is a paste and he loves it. It’s also gives him an appetite. He’s addicted to it. It’s got a lot of corn syrup in it, so watch the sweet factor. It will make them fat, and is probably not great for the teeth. But our dog is past that hurdle with NO teeth. We’re just pampering him in retirement. Our beautiful boy Gio has terminal Cancer but is responding well to his palliative Chemo treatment. At the same time, he completely tore his hind left leg ACL. Due to his age and his cancer, he is not a candidate for surgery. Because he is still feeling good, I wanted to find something to help support his leg. I ran across this Labra product, read the reviews and thought "what the heck–can't hurt to try!" I put it on him as soon as we received it, and it has really helped his mobility. While he is NOT going to be running any marathons, you can tell HE feels more stable and comfortable, and he hasn't messed with it at all. We leave it on for most of the day and take it off when he sleeps. There has been NO irritation at all. I bought the product the see if it would help my 12 1/2 year old Australian. She is on rimdyl and Adequan for ACL and arthritis. In one knee. Both have been helpful; however she is favors the leg and puts limited weight on it. When i put on the brace she took a little while, then starting putting weight on it and walking better. At her age I am not looking for permanent solution , just quality of life. This product has definitely helped, and she is getting around better.. Great product and customer service.Kathy
My female pitbull has a partial ACL tear and while this brace isn’t technically for ACL issues, it’s been a great support for her. We opted not to do surgery, so we limit walks to no more than 5 mins and use the brace when we do. At first she tried to bite at it but we used treats to get her to walk with it on and after just a few minutes, she was fine with it. Now she allows us to put it on and will leave it on until we take it off. I actually think she likes it!! I put my two dogs on PROTECT but can't say what its actual effects were. With just one jar, my 6 mo. old French bulldog's slight gas increased immediately. He could clear out a room. MY 8-yr. old Amstaff/Basenji mix with rib bone cancer began eating dirt and eventually developed severe pancreatitis he's still recovering from. Since taking both dogs off PROTECT, the puppy's gas has diminished. Perhaps if we continued longer I'd know for sure but that's not an option, given the severe pancreatitis which almost took my dog. I'm on the second tub of Protect and just ordered a third. We had a scare with our 14+ Aussie who developed acute G.I. issues (for the first time ever) after a recent lar par surgery. Bear had to take so many post surgery meds and began to decline rapidly. I hated giving him all those meds but felt that we had no choice. We needed something more than his usual probiotic to balance him. Along with Protect, I added raw goat kefir, SAME and b12 to his diet. Max was 1 year old when we adopted him and I realized he had digestive/gut issues. His foster home was feeding him cheap dry food so I gradually switched him to high quality raw food and his condition improved but, he still had occasional mucus and blood and test's didn't show any parasites or infection.
