Cookie weighs about 25lbs. There seems to be two versions of this product. There are two different pictures tied to the product. On one product there are fine teeth cut into stainless steel and on the other picture the teeth are made like claws. My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. Exasperated, I purchased Ark Naturals Royal Coat and crossed my fingers, hoping she wouldn't reject it. Success! Angel actually seems to like her wet food even more with Royal Coat mixed in it. I was told I was adopting an "allergy" dog, and that the dog would likely need to be on allergy meds for the rest of her life. I bought this for my cats who shed so bad you can't even pet them. It works great; in one swipe you can see all the hair coming out. I got so much hair off of my cat within a few strokes. I was shocked. But I'm also concerned that it's painful for the cats. It's like brushing them with the teeth of a small saw, and I question if it's actually ripping their hair out. My one cat is obsessed with being brushed; you can brush him with anything and he'll love it. He liked this too but seemed to get irritated. Definitely have to start out with short sessions of brushing and increase time as they get used to it. It's a 5 star item but I took a star away due to my concern. I still highly recommend this. I bought this in a large in the blue color for my 65 pound Pit and it fit him perfectly! It was really easy to put on him and he seems very comfortable in it, I also love the zipper on the bottom because it makes it so much easier for him when he goes to the bathroom. I typically use when we go for hikes to prevent ticks since he has dark gray fur and they are difficult to see. I would highly recommend this if your dog likes to go on hikes or roam outside in wooded areas! The material is also really nice and lightweight so it doesn’t make my pup too hot.
I ordered the correct size and it fit snugly enough in width, but the length was too long for my dog (from neck to tail). With the extra room in length she was able to get her back legs tangled in the fabric each time she would bend her knees/go from sitting to standing. It made it so she couldn’t use her back legs properly and she took a tumble down a few steps. Maybe including a body length measurement would help? I think the fit is probably ideal for certain types of dogs but not others. The zipper made me nervous that it would be easy to accidentally pinch her skin and I’m not sure she could go to the bathroom wearing it, even unzipped. These onsies are so cool! We have 2 long hair dogs that shed and my grandma HATES dog hair. We ordered these so that we can take the dogs to my grandmas house without her worrying. I think if your dog is in between sizes, you need to order the bigger size. Looser is better than tighter. The onsie was pretty tight on our bigger dog but she didn’t seem to mind! Was a bit skeptical about the raving reviews but bought it anyway to try out. My dog has itchy and sensitive skin and sheds like a dandelion on bad days. Two chews a day for the duration of 2 bottles worth and his skin is surprisingly less itchy, shedding much much lesser too. I'm not sure if this is partly due to starting him on coconut oil around the same time as well, but what I did find was that even on coconut oil, not taking this after it ran out got his skin condition back to poor again within 2-3 weeks. If you have static electricity, simply spritz item to be cleaned with water from a spray bottle. It doesn't pick up the hair, but it piles it up making it simple to vacuum one spot! Recently we got a cat from the shelter. She sheds way more than any cat I've ever had. The sticky roller can't put a dent in the great globs of fur left embedded in upholstered furniture. I have 1 dog and 2 cats who all require regular brushing. I found that the Soft Slicker Brush works best for my Miniature Schnauzer for a few reasons. The longer hair on her legs and chest tend to get tangled and hurt if you try to brush, causing it to rip out hair – but that doesn’t happen with this brush! It actually removes any tangles from her hair easily and without pain. Whenever she rolls around in stickers in grass this brush makes it super easy to find them all and get them out of her hair. My male cockapoo had started scratching and biting at his skin about a few months ago , it got so bad to the point where he wouldn’t stop until his skin was completely raw and bleeding and we had to keep a cone on him at all times. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds.
