This is a needed medication for our mature cat and for whatever reason we are unable to find it locally. Found it online here. Pretty good price but a little pricey for the shipping, in my opinion, Ordered it and it arrived in a short period of time in good shape. Will purchase again when we need it if it is not available locally.Filrod
2. Tomlyn Hairball Remedy Laxatone, Tuna – 4.25 Oz Tube
Product Details:
Specifications:
Weight | 1 lb |
Reviews:
I received this product complimentary from influenster in return for my honest review. The Tomlyn Hairball Remedy gel for cats is a life saver! My eldest cat has the tendency to throw up hairballs quite often. I followed the measuring ingredients on the package and mixed it into his wet food. I have definitely noticed a decrease in hairballs since! The gel consistency is a bit odd, so i can understand if your furry friend does not like it. I do recommend mixing it with wet food or a lickable treat.hennah.h
I have six cats, and, out of all of them, only one really took to this gel. However, she is the one I was hoping would like it as she is a long haired kitty. She’s actually a 3-month old kitten, and she is quite fluffy. I am so glad she took to this gel, because it will help to keep her hair moving through her system and avoid future hair balls. She licks this stuff up like it’s mother’s milk, and she’d probably eat the whole tube in one go if I let her. Really glad I tried this out, and even happier my kitten loves it. It will be part of her dietary regimen from now on. Still trying to get my other cats to eat this stuff voluntarily without me having to place it in their mouths. Highly recommend this for cat owners!Angelcakes
Purchased this product first from my vet; later tried a different product found on line – similar size tube but only 2.5 ounces compared to the Tomlyn product at 4.25 ounces. My most recent purchase from Wal-Mart is the best economically based on price and size. Both products list themselves as remedies; neither is a complete remedy but they are a definite improvement over hairballs and cleaning up those messes. My cat has extremely long hair, and she loves this product. The vet told me to put some on my finger and swipe it in her mouth – bad idea. Figured out that sitting on the floor, squirting out a tiny bit and letting her curiosity take over, she tried it. And now will eat as much as I squeeze out.Susan

It seems strange that this would be a good product to use, however it works. My baby has never had a problem in all the years I have been using this! Plus she likes the Taste!!!! The picky eater actually likes it!!!! She will Not eat butter, but she will eat this stuff! Buy it, it works!RedDragoniv
I have been looking high and low for Petromalt, thick gel, almost the consistency of vasoline, with either a neutral or malt flavor, but cannot locate. I bought a "hairball solution" at my grocery store thinking it would be the same product. It is salmon flavored (why are all the products on the market salmon flavored?) and so thin it practically pours out of the tube. My cat runs away fast when I try to give it to her. She flat out won't take it. Unless I can buy the thicker gel, not salmon flavored, I won't consider buying an alternate product. What happened to the thicker gel type?Teddykitty1
Long-haired cat gets wicked hairballs. So she gets hairball treats and also her "goo" every morning. I've tried tuna flavored, but she really loves the malt and eats it right off the tube. It can be sticky and a bit gross to put globs back in when she doesn't get them off (or loses interest after I've squeezed), but I try to just do about 1/8" at a time and we're mostly good.Lilah's mom

Reviews:
What happened to regular old malt flavored cat hairball paste? My cats would willingly eat it off my finger. Not this stuff. If I try to disguise it in wet food, they won't even go near it! I have to wipe it all over their paw, which is messy and a pain if they get away from you. I threw this away.Kristi
I am so glad to have found this product. I have a 14 year old diabetic cat who has fairly long hair and grooms himself regularly. After he had a bad hairball (which at first seemed like he was very sick…wouldn't eat, drink, etc.)…I knew I had to give him something to control the hairballs. I searched everywhere, but everything I could find had sugar in it. The vet recommended using pure petroleum jelly, but my cat hated it and acted very strange both times I gave it to him. Finally, my mom came across this product at Walmart and purchased it. My cat loves the flavor and will actually lick it off my fingers. I am so glad to have something that I can give him which won't bother his diabetes. I would recommend this to any cat owner, especially with diabetic cats.JAAM444
I have three cats only one of whom has problems with hairballs. Usually he loves anything that has a seafood flavor, however he took one lick of this stuff the very first day and wouldn't touch it again. I even mixed it with a small amount of cream cheese, which he loves, and he didn't like it. The stuff separates overnight and forms a thick syrup. It's too thick for a cat to drink comfortably and gets everywhere. It does eliminate the hairball, however to get my cat to eat it requires me to hold him down, pry open his mouth, and smear it on his tongue. I would suggest getting a chewy hairball controller instead.SilverBlade

Product Details:
Hairballs are a horrifying thing and ferrets that lick their fur are prone to blocking up their system. this great-tasting paste is a must-have for all ferret owners. ferret lax is the perfect remedy for both eliminating existing hairballs and preventing the formation of new ones. it also aids in removing other items that may have been accidentally ingested. 3oz tube.
Specifications:
Weight | 0.28 lb |
Reviews:
My ferrets both love this and it's great to know it helps prevent hair balls. They would probably love to eat this daily if it weren't for the ingredients not being suitable for healthy everyday consumption. Arguably high sugar content (molasses) I give them a lick or two once a week and they eagerly lick the top of tube. I do find however, that tube is hard to express and product sits at the bottom. It takes a lil extra effort to squeeze out product.AB727
Unfortunately, I'm now STUCK with 3 of these Lax tubes and NONE of my 4 Ferrets will attempt to LICK this Lax PASTE anymore. The moment it touches their lips they start GAGGING and FREAKING out. They LIKE the smell & taste but, it's way too STICKY (Molasses) for any pet or human. When hits their lips it sticks to them like CEMENT, gets all over their lips, whisker, noise & hair. Ferrets take time to trust their owners/farents and now they're so traumatized. When I attempt to give them their Vita Paste which they love, they give me the look of death, turn their noses & heads UP & get ready to LeaP out of my arms in FEAR that it's that Lax. The amount of Molasses in this tube is Ridiculous! It needs to include NATURAL Oils/Foods rather then, Molasses, Petroleum etc. MARSHALL, Please reconsider the ingredients you put info the furry MONEY making Ferrets YOU Bread & SELL…Best ingredients for our sweet little furry ferrets would look more like THIS: Aloe Vera, Olive Oil, Chia Seeds, Flaxseeds, Leafy Green Veggies, Chicken or Turkey, Probiotics, High-Fiber Fruits (Berries, Figs, Apples, Prunes, Pears, Avocados) & Ferrets Favorite Coconut Oil, Vita E, D & Coconut Water. Thx from a Very Concerned Farent of 4 Happy & Healthy babies/ferrets. Yvonne 🙂Farent of 4 Furries

Hairballs are the devil! My baby boy Buttons, was suffering tremendously. We took him to our vet on numerous ocassions where he was given very strong laxatives. Though it worked all the time, my Buttons has a very sensitve tummy Lax'Aire helps him expel the hair in his digestive tract and eliminates the throwing up that otherwise occurs. I am so happy to be able to buy it online at a reasonable price because my vet stopped carrying the product. Don't waste your money buying anything else. This is the one!Rose G
This works great for our 16 year old tuxedo cat. She is still able to groom herself however she gets frequent hair balls and this helps her expel it. She also has scoliosis of the spine in which she is given meds to help alleviate her pain but causes constipation. Our previous vet started us on this and it works great especially if you use it either 2 hours after eating or 10 minutes before feeding. I hope Pfizer doesn't do something crazy again and stop producing this product because it works much better than the others we have tried.cyn
7. Vetoquinol Laxatone For Cats, Mapple Flavor – 4.24 Oz Tube
Product Details:
Specifications:
Flavor | Original |
Reviews:
Works fantastic! It is VERY sticky, I suggest hiding it in some wet food, that worked really well for my kitty. I used it to relieve constipation in a 4wk old orphaned kitten. My vet recommended it. I also gave it to my long haired hair ball machine…worked great for him too.RhodaRunner
My older cat is a medium hair cat. He really gets a lot of hairballs, especially in the fall and the spring. My vet recommended this brand. He absolutely loves it! He wants it all the time. I asked my vet if it is okay for him to take a lot of Laxatone. He said that it is safe and since he is older, it helps him to have regular bowel movements as well. My vet said to not give him Laxatone if he gets diarrhea. My cat jumps on the chair and paws my arm when he wants some- and it's ALL the time. So I order three tubes at a time to make sure he NEVER runs out!Racquel M

This is the best among this type of product ) because: (1) my cat actually likes it and will lick it off my finger (2) other products are too runny, and just fall off your finger before the cat decides to taste it (3) it has solved the problem; my long-haired Wuzzie no longer suffers from hairball "issues." NOTE: please make sure (thru vet check-up) that your vomiting cat does not suffer from a more serious problem!crazy l.
If your cat is throwing up, this should remedy this problem. My cat was occasionally coughing so my vet recommended it. My cat stopped coughing after I gave it to him. He loves the fish flavor. If your cat doesn't want to eat it, you can smear a little on his feet and that will force him to eat it. But not too much because he will shake it off everywhere. My cat actually loves this stuff. I squirt an inch in a plate and he goes after it. He loves it!! But again, get the fish flavored if you can.jerdi23
2 of my cats not only need this hairball relief but also resist anything being put into their mouths which is the least messy and the easiest way to give it to them. Luckily they LOVE the fish flavor so come to get it. I do not have to go after them but just call their names. Then they lick the malt off the end of the tube as I squeeze out the amount they need. Good for them and a relief for me. No hassle!Dawn

This is a wonderful product that actually works. I've used this product for years. Every cat I've ever had loves it. I've learned to keep it in the fridge for two reasons. #1 Being chilled makes it easier to dispense. #2 Cats can't open the fridge door. After cleaning up a few chewed up tubes and the messy carnage left by kitties, into the fridge it goes!tina little
Our cat has loved this product for years, receiving a few licks from the end every morning. The last batch we bought had new green vs yellow packaging and our cat does not like it anymore. Change in product? New packaging imparts an unpalatable taste? The ingredients are no longer listed so there is no way to compare productlucy goose
I received the Hartz® Hairball Remedy Plus™ for Cats & Kittens Paste for free from Harz to test out. Since I have a girl with thick, long hair, I was game to try this with her. I easily applied some to her paw to lick off. Within the hour, she easily released a hairball. It seemed she struggled less with removing the hairball when taking this. I continued to use this tube and within 2 hours of giving her the paste, she would expel the hairball if she had one. I plan on keeping a tube of this handy since hairballs have been an ongoing struggle for her. I'm very pleased to be introduced to this product. This opinion is 100% my own.AprilAriesPb

With my previous dog I used the HW protect. She didn't like the taste, and would not eat her food, if it was put in her food. So I bought a big bag of XL #3 EMPTY GELATIN CAPSULES online. I would fill the capsule with HW Protect, and put the filled gel capsule in raw ground turkey burger, then hand feed it, down the hatch. My current dog can smell it, and will suck the turkey off of the gel capsule and spit the capsule out on the floor. Trying to figure out how to fool her to get her to take it. I cannot get garlic or garlic tablets down her either. She hates anything with a stong smell. I love the HW Protect to prevent heartworms, just trying to figure out how to get my current dog to take it. The HW Protect is in the fridge for months but I cannot get her to take it. I give her NEEM capsules for preventing fleas, ticks as Neem has very low scent. I read that Hawthorne berry capsules, Black Seed, Hops Flowers, Apricot Kernal Extract, Sheep Sorrel and garlic help prevent heartworms too. I feed her Apricot seeds B17 and laetrile capsules for both her and me because a retired 95 year old doctor who was a very healthy active old man, said this has contributed why he and his wife never gets cancer. He said that ground up raw apricot seeds not only prevent heartworms, they also shrink cancer cells thru out the entire body in both pets and humans, and are used in Germany in the natural cancer clinics where the powerful elite wealthy rothechilds, rockefellars, carnegies, gov officials, and fda go when their families get cancer and they get Laetrile IV's that shrink cancer thru out the whole body, done daily for 4 weeks, and that is why these powerful elite all easily live into their late 90's and older. Wish this was allowed in the USA to save people and to save pets from cancer. But obviously no profit in health for the masses. So many supplements have multiple health effects. Thanks for the HW Protect, I just have to figure out how to get my dog to take it.customer
My cat has been plagued with constipation issues for several years now. She'll be 10 this year. Working to avoid western medicine via homeopathic supplements. Been using PetAlive's Natural Moves successfully for several years. She needs 1 pill daily, not the 1/2 pill per "dosage" instructions. However Natural Moves is 'on back order' everywhere, including PetAlive's website. I purchased the ingredients, and working to figure out the ratios. Now I purchased Laxa-herb. My cat hates the taste in food, water, esp. by mouth. Since she's good with pills, I now put the drops in a veg cap for her. That works. Still to be determined if it helps her, but the pilling makes it easy.Britt
I have given this to my 9 year old cat in a spoonful of wet food 3 x day for 2.5 weeks now. Cat has been suffering from allergies and autoimmune stuff more and more so as he gets older. The past 5 month has been a constant battle with rodent ulcers, biting his paws, overgrooming, and irritability. I switched him to all the special diets and have done months and months of trials of selected protein and hydrolyzed. I have done multiple antibiotic shots, flea medication, kept him inside, routine liquid steroids, and even antidepressants. My vets worse case scenario was that we have to keep him on steroids if nothing else could stop the bald spots and scratching himself till bleeding. It seems there are multiple unknown triggers, and we've tried so many times to cut back the Prednisolone and he could never go more then 2.5 -3 days without serious repercussions. I was starting to have to face that twice a week steroids could be a permanent thing. It has been a nightmare…until I found these drops. After a week of these liquid drops he went 5 days without steroids before he started licking again…After 2 weeks I have stopped steroids completely. I am freaking out with happiness. He licks his paws just a tad but as long as I keep up with the 3 x/ day he seems really good. I'm still keeping him on hydrolyzed wet and dry food for now. Everything has returned to normal, and his coat looks great. When he's happy I'm happy. I'm a more natural medicine kind of person anyway so it makes sense that I would take a holistic approach with my cat chid. The only thing im not sure about is that it has agave nectar in it. Anyway, I'm switching to a holistic vet this Fall, and can't wait to tell her about these drops.CJ

I give hairball help to my dog but this is a flavor she just doesn't appreciate. She'll eat it but she wants the other flavor of malt. My cat I have to hold down and force it into her mouth but I have to do that with the malt flavor, too. I won't be buying this again because I don't like the consistency of it. Just my opinion here, but I give it a 3 star because it's not good and not bad. Happy Shopping!Suzanne
2 of my cats loved it instantly. The third one was hesitant so I put a dab on the top of his paw. I did the same the next day. By the third day he was begging for it like the other two. Nothing else has ever worked with them…they would refuse to eat it. This one is like a treat they look forward to. I like that it has no petroleum jelly or artificial colors or flavors. My cats love the chicken. I've not tried the other flavors. I just wish they made it in a larger tube. With 3 cats, I run out quickly.CatGranny2000

My cat likes the taste and readily laps it up. I haven't noticed her having any hairball issues since I got this. I've only given it to her when I happened to remember it. But i think I will start giving it to her more regularly. Seems like a very useful product that almost any cat owner should keep on hand.A.
For treating hairballs it is good. A bit runny though. cats seem to find it acceptable flavor wise.J.E.B.

My cat has very long hair and hair balls often. She actually goes through 2 periods a year where she has them almost everyday. She refuses all other hair ball medicine. I had never had a cat the refused that gel in a tube but she does and she has refused every way I have tried to give her this or other types too. I thought this would be a small chewable tablet that I could slip into her food and she wouldn’t even notice. Instead it is a very large tablet that you have to crush twice a day. So you will need a way to crush the pill to be able to give this to your cat. I don’t love that at all. I haven’t been using it long enough to notice a difference, and if it does work than my effort and crushing the pill twice a day will certainly be worth it. But I felt that this was not what it seemed to be.Edjmed
I received this item today. Hairball Relief for all sizes of cats 12 weeks and up. I have 2 fur babies. Mittens and Rocky. Almost daily they are coughing up fur balls. We have tried changing foods, getting bottled water, nothing seems to work. They still cough up hairballs. So after reading the instructions, my one cat is aggressive, rocky, so it might be a challenge for me to get him to take the pill. Split the pill in half. Half in the morning and half at night. If i cant get them to take this pill, i may end up putting it in there soft food. They will take it them. Whats nice is this got really good reviews on stopping the hairballs. Which is great. Im going to start a pill on each cat shortly. The pill its self is slippery which will help go down easily in my cats. Other than that, it will be 24hrs to see any improvements.DeaconFrost4469
If your cat hates pills or is picky, this is what you need. It may look like just a bottle of giant pills but they break easy and my cat loves them. She only like temptations catnip treats as much as she likes these. Pretty Litter indicated a UTI is able to start, I already see a difference in her behavior after 4 of these pills. It's already helping her, if you don't see another comment or review from me then it worked completely. Almost every single other review for this product everywhere else has been good, so hopes are very high.Liz E.

I'm completely blown away by this product. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. After the second application a few days later, he stopped scratching completely. I don't know how you managed it, but this stuff is gold! I haven't sprayed him in several days, but he still is not scratching. For my pet, this has been a god send.Gayle T.
I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. Not wanting to see her struggle to manage everyday activity, I was ready to try what I could to prevent recurrences. I read about Fidoplex and decided to give it a try. She hasn’t had a problem for a whole year now! I wouldn’t be without this wonderful supplement. She takes it like a treat every morning and she’s as happy and active as ever! Thank you, Wondercide, for the love and care you have for our special family members and their health!
We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. The other vet thought he had skin allergies & put him on a 2nd round of steroids & antibiotics. That's when we searched online and found Wondercide. The Skin Tonic worked! He stopped licking the two areas and his skin healed. He has a healthy coat of new fur where the bald spots were. Lessons learned: vaccinating our boy caused him to have skin problems. No more harsh steroids or antibiotics for our dogs. We love the Wondercide products.Cynthia

Great quality and helpful ingredients in this little treat to help hair balls. This was the first day to try them, but just having them eat it on their own is a win 🏅. Will order again since they like them. Good price. I gave them two treats today. They are cute fish shaped supplements.iHerb Customer
I have bought these in the past. They seemed to be okay. at least my cat would eat them when I put them in his food. He wouldn't eat them separately. But I'm not sure how effective they are at reducing hair balls. They smell like rancid oil. I paid $8.00 from Walmart and even less on Amazon per bottle of 160. Now they want $16.50 a bottle. Yeah, I'm not going to pay that. My cat will just have to take his chances….AverageJoe
these are good. very fussy cat actually ate them as they are, i didnt have to mix in his food. they are quite soft, so could easily be crumbled into food if needed. did help with hairballs. actually after a week, i noticed increased appetite, so i guessed his stomach was all clear and he had renewed interest in food! my cat is 12 years old if that helps.iHerb Customer
