MY 16 year old rescue dog got Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis mid- March and was at death's door, but she pulled through. She didn't seem to have any after effects. I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. I used this product previously because my male dog is a poop eater. It's the first thing that has ever worked to stop the behavior. It went out of stock in Aug and so was so disappointed. When it came back in stock I ordered 2 jars, not thinking that anything would have changed. I could tell by the smell it was not the same product anymore. Within a week of giving it to both my dogs, I knew it wasn't the same because my male was still eating poop. I emailed the company and was told it had changed including going from peanut butter flavor to chicken which my dog is allergic to. My money was refunded which I appreciate, but I just wish the ingredients would be changed back.
We have a Pyr Mix puppy that has been indulging in our other dogs feces, gross, to say the least. Outside of picking up poop asap on a two acre lot and hot sauce or cayenne, we wanted to try a potential additive in feeding that would help deter. We have been using for almost a month and after two weeks we noticed a difference that he isn't going to fresh stool, but instead walking away. I've noticed that if I miss picking up, he will still look for it after it dries out a bit. I expect maybe it loses potency in deterrent after it sits out a while, but we are committed to see this through to make up our minds. Five stars as of now, commit first before deciding – even a little help goes a long way!
I have two Great Danes who this winter started eating their own and each other's poop. No change in food. I tried the product For Bid with no results. I found it to be worthless. I have been using the Chew No Poo Bites for about two and a half weeks. It seems to be working. I have not seen any instances of the former behavior, but the jury is still out as to whether this will continue. That is the only reason I did not give it five stars. I got two months worth for them. The other question is when I stop giving it will they go back to their old habits?
