Reviews:
Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ
It’s a great doghouse. He’s already tried chewing the top roof corners off but it hasn’t hurt the integrity of the house. He also won’t get in it. I’m not sure why, because he did get in his crate when it was in his dog pen. He’s a 9 month old GSP. I’m hopeful once he reaches adulthood he’ll stop eating it and actually get in it. I’d totally buy it again though. It’s a great doghouse! I just have a strange dog. He also can’t get on top of it because there isn’t any grip and he slides off. That helps with him not jumping out of the 6’ tall pen.
We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

4. Finding Home: Shelter Dogs And Their Stories (A Photographic Tribute To Rescue Dogs) [Book]
Product Details:
Bold, retiring, serious, sparkling, quirky, or lovable—the dogs in traer scott's remarkable photographs regard us with humor, dignity, and an abundance of feeling. scott began photographing these dogs in 2005 as a volunteer at animal shelters. her first book, shelter dogs, was a runaway success, and in this follow-up, scott introduces a new collection of canine subjects, each with indomitable character and spirit: morrissey, a pit bull, who suffered from anxietyrelated behaviors brought on by shelter life until adopted by a family with four children; chloe, a young chocolate lab mix, surrendered to a shelter by a family with allergies; gabriel and cody, retired racing greyhounds; and bingley, a dog who lost his hearing during a drug bust but was brought home by a loving family that has risen to the challenge of living with a deaf dog. the portraits in finding home form an eloquent plea for the urgent need for more adoptive families, as well as a tribute to dogs everywhere.traer scott and princeton architectural press are donating a portion of the proceeds from finding home to two dog rescue organizations: providence animal rescue league and handsome dan's rescue.

I have ( had ) a spider and hard shell black bug problem and I can tell you Ortho Home Insect Defense Max Indoor Insect Barrier works ! I don't know exactly what the hard shell black bugs are but I had a big issue in several rooms all over the floor, on counters, and in cupboards with them. After spraying the Ortho Home Insect Barrier they started dying immediately, it took a few days after spraying before I noticed they were no longer coming into the rooms, counters, or cupboards. And spiders are no longer hanging out on my enclosed porches! Ortho Home Defense Max claims to provide long lasting, reliable pest protection for your home for up to 365 days. Even if it doesn't last that long the Extended Reach Comfort Wand, with 2X the reach makes it easy to respray at any time. It kills all common household bugs like ants, cockroaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, scorpions, beetles, earwigs, silverfish, centipedes, millipedes, and a host of other insects that are listed on the product label. This product dries up to 30% faster, than other Ortho products and leaves no stains or fumes. People and pets can enter treated areas after the spray has dried. This spray does come in 24oz with a trigger sprayer or the gallon size with the comfort wand. Got a bug problem give Ortho Home Defense Max a try.JC17771
I love the Ortho products. My husband sprays this all on the inside perimeters of our house, like the window sills, bottom of doors, spots where we’ve seen bugs, etc and then we use the Ortho Home Defense Inside/Outside for the outdoor perimeters and it works GREAT. We have a really bad spider and ant problem at our house and you can really tell when it’s working. The outdoor one lasts for about 6 months and then you’ll notice the creepy crawlies starting to pop up again but then you just spray again. This one says it works for 365 days, I’ve only been using it for about a week and it does exactly what it says it does! I trust all the ortho products!! No smells or stains at all either! I have 2 babies and have no worries about spraying the inside. Ortho is the best!MomSpaghetti49
YIKES!! i started seeing some bugs in my kitchen at night when i turned on the light so i wanted something effective and fast acting as well as easy to use and i found it in the Ortho Home Defense Max Indoor Insect Barrier with Extended Reach Comfort Wand. I sprayed the perimeter of every room upstairs and downstairs and i haven't seen a bug since! This is the easiest and most convenient sprayer ive ever used. Its very well designed. The wand folds out easily to reach hard to get to places and lets me spray without having to bend. when im through with it i just fold it up and clip it into its own special holder that keeps it all together and compact and ready for the next use. It sprays the first time every time after its primed and I also like that its safe for children and pets when its dry. Couldnt be easier!avagrace

Reviews:
The 435 X series is really nice and has a small remote control that fits into my hand (I am only 5'4). The XS series is stronger (for large dogs that can be stubborn) and was too much for my need… that's why I really wanted the X series. The 825 X is the same as the 425 X except is has a longer distance reach (1/2 mile) but the remote is a little big bigger. Works great…. make sure you read the manual for the different settings and understand that this is not a training tool per say but a corrective tool (meaning your dog has to know and understand commands BEFORE using it)…Do NOT use as a punitive tool. The nice thing is this item allows you to choose either tone, vibration, or static mode. 99% of the time I only need to use vibration for my dog to get his attention (he cN get sobfocused on a scent that he doesn't pay attention to my commands). He sometimes takes off after a rabbit/wild pig etc. and that's when I have to use the static mode to quickly get his attention away from his chase. I really like that it is waterproof (my dog swims into ponds and rivers)…some other brands claim to be waterproof but really mean to say water resistant! If it doesn't show water depth then it is not waterproof. Quality product worth the money.Noone12345
I have tried everything I knew with this dog, built a relationship with him, treats, toys, praise and I wasn’t able to find anything that would motivate him to actually follow the commands that I knew he knew. I was afraid to use a “shock collar” because I thought it was going to be cruel but it had been 5 months where this 3 year old pit was with me and there seemed to be no progress. I really was not able to find something that worked. I was at a loss and willing to try just about anything. I watched some of the training videos on sportdog’s page. I ended up buying this and I charged it up like they said. I then tried it on myself first. I was very surprised, it reminded me of a tens machine that the chiropractor uses, not what I thought it was going to be at all. It’s been 3 days since I started to use this collar (425XS) and he is responding to voice commands now and the “beep” function on the collar. It is a pleasure taking him out and I’m sure he enjoys not having to be on just a 6’ leash and he gets to run around.Trucker Jeff
Bought this for the intention of training my bulldog to stop running out of our driveway. Never had to use the vibration setting only the beep setting, and seems to work perfectly. Plenty of length on the collar to fit his big neck and then some . Also have used it on my schnauzer and mini doodle .Dawggang

My dog seems to love his new doghouse. It's very roomy and super easy to assemble. It's insulated too so hope it keeps him warm. We took the bottom half of the doggie door off to get use to going in and out of the doghouse. He did wonderful. I think when we put the bottom half back on it will be fine.LoriOe

Definitely has made great difference in her coat and skin for better. It took a little over two weeks to completely switched from other food but it’s because she has such a sensitive stomach, however she didn’t have any issues after about 4 days before she adjusted her system to it. It’s very fishy smelling as open bag but it’s not horrible. She is eating good and she seems to have more energy and she just seems happier than before. Definitely recommend just don’t switch cold turkey because it’s going to take little bit for system to accept the switch as in any food.G2five
My pomeranian’s coat looked terrible. It had stopped growing in and was dry and dull. He had begun balding on his hind legs as well. The groomer recommended getting his thyroid checked, but his last physical at the vet was good, so we decided to try changing his food first. We chose salmon based because our vet said many dogs have developed allergies to chicken. He did not like the food at first so we switched him very slowly and he got used to it. No problems eating it now, but I do sprinkle a half teaspoon of cheese on it. The difference in his coat after 3 months is AMAZING! His coat has started growing back in, it is soft, and even his hind legs have new growth! So glad we tried this!!KimberlyV
Our dog has had constant irritated ears and itchy paws. He would scratch at his ears until they bled. Our vet said it is a food allergy. We tried all of the expensive hypoallergenic prescription dog food. After seeing no results, and our pockets taking a hit from the prices, We switched to Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach and WOW. I noticed such a huge difference in our dog. He has only been on it a few weeks and we have noticed him licking his paws so much less, and he has not scratched at his ears once! We also got a huge bag and soft food that all 3 of my dogs love! They eat the whole bowl clean.Melissa467

I didn't know what to expect since I have never vaccinated my own pet before. I didn't know if this was one dose or several, so I wrote customer service. They replied very quickly, and it turns out this is a single dose and comes with the syringe. It arrived overnight and was cold and ready to use when it arrived. The directions were easy and the whole process was stress free (and so much cheaper than a vet visit!). I'll definitely be ordering the other rounds of vaccines from them!KG0183
Wow!!! I was shocked at how fast I received my order for my dog's vaccination. I ordered the Solo Jec 5 Plus, it came with the syringe and very simple instructions. The vaccination was kept cold and packed very well. I will definitely be ordering from Valley Vet Supply again.1ccarver

I have a 13lb bichon frise who typically eats other Purina Pro Plan food, but he’s a very picky eater and often goes on hunger strikes. I like the idea that it might promote calmness because he’s quite hyper. Seems like it’s marketed exactly to us because there’s even a bichon on the bag! The kibble size is perfect and it’s not too smelly (unlike the salmon pro plan we used to feed him). We mixed this in with his usual food, Purina Pro Plan small breed beef shredded blend. He was really excited and gobbled iton the first day, but subsequently has gone back to his usual picky eating patterns. When I held a piece of the beef and this one in each hand, he only ate the beef. So I don’t think this is his favorite flavor. I’m planning to keep using it especially if it might actually promote calmness, but I’ll probably keep combining it with his favorite beef food rather than switch completely.jennifer.b
I have enjoyed the benefits of this food, and it really seems to make a difference in anxiety. Not only that, but energy levels and skin and coat are also great. Overall, this product is amazing. However, please, PLEASE make more variety for this line! My other dog who would really benefit from this food is intolerant of poultry. I would buy it for her in a heartbeat if there were proteins other than chicken. I know a few other dog owners who want to try it as well, but chicken intolerance is common.Ashleyp
I am super impressed with my Purina Pro Plan dog food. It is very high quality and my dogs really love it. They appear to enjoy the taste and the nice crunchy texture. I really like the ingredients. It has everything that my dogs need for good nutrition. It looks and smells appealing. The kibble is not overly large which makes it easy for the dogs to eat. The calming aspect seems to be a great added bonus. It gives my dogs just the right balance. They have experienced no issues with this food. I do recommend this brand!rebecca.l

Silent Tears: A Journey of Hope in a Chinese Orphanage by Kay Bratt ñ A Book Review God led me to this piece of non-fiction years ago long before I retired from teaching long before I started blogging and posting book reviews. God began then preparing my heart for the little girl who will be joining our family within the next eighteen months to two years. Kay Bratt dedicated her book to China's Orphans; stating 'You are not forgotten.' Indeed they are not. Biological parents in China for a variety of reasons have made the heart wrenching decision to leave their children and in the words of our soon-to-be granddaughter's new parents 'There's a lot we don't know about our daughter but we do know this: She has been left to be found and our love will find her wherever she is.' There are many parents out there whose love has led them to find their son or daughter wherever they were and many who are being led by God to that wonderful discovery. In 2002 the author's husband was transferred to China. She immediately set three goals for herself: to learn to speak Mandarin to volunteer in an orphanage and to chronicle her time overseas by keeping a journal. Once in Shengxi and personally experiencing the day to day life of the orphans there Kay began a volunteer group supported by friends and family stateside. This book is a collection of her journal entries during her four years in China. When Kay first arrived in Shengxi volunteers were not readily welcomed in the orphanage. A lady named Ann was the only volunteer at the time and she laid the groundwork for Kay's volunteering. Without her Kay may never have been able to reach her second goal. The condition of the children the living environment and the lack of human contact was deeply depressing. Kay's description of the treatment of the children is vivid and incomprehensible to most of us living in America. While reading this book causes the reader great sadness it is not meant for us to close our eyes and hearts to human suffering. The reader can hold onto the portion of the title of the text: A Journey of Hope. Kay and her corp of volunteers did indeed slowly and over time bring hope to the Shengxi orphanage. The volunteers realized that change needed to occur little by little move to fast and they would be told not to return. Kay introduces us her readers to several specific children. It is impossible not to get emotionally involved with their stories driven to read on and discover their fates. Squirt a baby boy who stubbornly hung on to life for as long as he could. Xiao Feng a small girl with a beautiful smile and a missing hand. Two year old Jin Ji a favorite of the ayis. Yue Hua longing for the comfort of human touch and understanding. Hei Mei with a minor heart condition dimples and a sunny disposition. Xiao Gou twice abandoned. A model of God's love compassion and mercy Kay expresses an understanding of the ayis the workers responsible for the children's care. By looking for ways to show them appreciation and to make their jobs easier rather than criticizing and arguing with them Kay won their confidence and respect building relationships one visit at a time. This resulted in greater opportunities to impact the children's lives and eventually changes in how the ayis treated the children. Kay ends her book with letters that she has received by some of those who have been touched by her story some who have gone on to adopt. These letters are testaments to the power of the testimony contained in these pages be they paper or electronic. Whether you plan to adopt love children or just love a touching story you will find inspiration and hope while reading Silent Tears. As Christians we know that we are to be true to who God created us to be; if we accomplish that we are being true to ourselves as well. How often do we allow ourselves to be shaped in the image of who someone else says we should be? Parents, spouses, significant others, even friends may set up expectations for how we should live our lives. Some of that may truly be good, but are we cognizant of when boundaries are breached? If so, do we allow that to occur, or do we reestablish those boundaries? Traveling along with Quinn Maguire as she discovers her true self may help readers explore such questions. Quinn's story is compelling. While I most often review Christian fiction, I did enjoy this secular, contemporary tale. Kay Bratt's works are always fully engaging, and transport me into the characters' world. They give me pause to contemplate some of the social and personal issues of our day. True to Me is no exception. I am very grateful to have received a copy from the author and Lake Union Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review, and received no monetary compensation.Grams

The media could not be loaded. I have four indoor and outdoor Eufy cameras and a Eufy doorbell. They provide great value (no monthly subscription required) and perform well with many features. I was intrigued, therefore, by this Eufy dog camera. The unit is larger than I expected, coming in at over a foot tall with a 6-inch diameter. The large size allows capacious treat storage and the rotating components. There is also a clean-out compartment on the bottom for treat crumbs, which is a nice touch. Overall it is designed and built well. Purchasers should note that the camera needs to be plugged into the wall as there is no battery. The camera quality is a standard 1080p and presents a clear picture on my phone. It has a wide-angle lens, and the unit can rotate 3/4 of a complete circle. The camera can see just about anywhere in a room. The rotation is done manually through the app or by tracking motion automatically. I set it to only track dogs, but it occasionally follows me as well (quite disconcerting). You launch treats through the app with a gimmicky slingshot that you swipe back. The more you swipe back, the more forceful the launch. A preset noise or recorded command plays (intended to call your dog over before the treat launches). We have treats on the smaller size of the recommended range (0.24' to 0.6'), and I could not tell much of a difference among the various launch distances. In fact, at each level, they launched further than I would have liked. With my dog sitting in front of the camera, they come out too quickly for him to react. Moreover, the treats come out 2-3 at a time, which furthers his confusion. I suspect that larger treats would fare better. The app is nicely done and functional. I did not encounter any bugs. I do wish that Eufy would combine their various apps into one. The rest of my Eufy cameras use the Eufy Security app, while this dog cam uses the Eufy Pet app. This should not bother me as much as it does. Inside the app, you can choose to be notified by motion (generally or just dogs) and when it thinks that the camera hears a bark. This did not work consistently well for me. The app often thought that loud, sudden noises were barks, leading to false positives. Other features allow you to record commands for your dog to come to get a treat, view past events, get a live feed, launch treats, and rotate the camera. Set up was simple, and I have had no issues connecting. Owners who are frequently absent from their dogs will like this unit. If you use larger treats (and have a smarter dog) than I have, I think the treat launcher will perform better. The false positives on the image and sound recognition are downsides but not dealbreakers. Overall, it is a well-built unit that showcases the great value that Eufy offers.
Delivery was very fast, got it 2 days early than expected date. Already have it set up, and love it! I was at first considering the Furbo or Pet Cube Lite because they were more well known. I'm so glad I did my research and chose this instead after reading so many bad reviews on the other brands. This is very easy to set up, the quality of the videos are crystal clear, easy to download and share with others, haven't had a single issue with the treat launcher, and the cam itself isn't cheaply made either. Very heavy duty and sleek. If anyone's on the fence, I'd highly reccomend this. Easily worth the $200 in my opinion. Love that I can talk too and keep an eye on my dogs while I'm away. Thank you for making an all around great pet cam.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this camera because I am away a lot since I am a teacher and I am a cancer patient. I miss being away from my dog as I get infusions, at doctor appointments, or just at work. This camera is great and allows me to keep an eye on my pup while I am away. My dog just sleeps or eats while I am away, but seeing him perk up when I talk to him or throw him a treat is one of my favorite things! The only reason I rated this 4 stars is because I did buy this new but when I received my package and opened the treat container it had clearly been used as there was treat residue already in the canister. Other than that it's been awesome to watch my dog throughout the day, throw treats, and it even sends a doggy diary at the end of the day to show everything your dog did! It's also great security as it can detect people so if you have an intruder it will record them. This is super easy to set up and use and is so convenient. I highly recommend this product!

I bought this in a large in the blue color for my 65 pound Pit and it fit him perfectly! It was really easy to put on him and he seems very comfortable in it, I also love the zipper on the bottom because it makes it so much easier for him when he goes to the bathroom. I typically use when we go for hikes to prevent ticks since he has dark gray fur and they are difficult to see. I would highly recommend this if your dog likes to go on hikes or roam outside in wooded areas! The material is also really nice and lightweight so it doesn’t make my pup too hot.
I ordered the correct size and it fit snugly enough in width, but the length was too long for my dog (from neck to tail). With the extra room in length she was able to get her back legs tangled in the fabric each time she would bend her knees/go from sitting to standing. It made it so she couldn’t use her back legs properly and she took a tumble down a few steps. Maybe including a body length measurement would help? I think the fit is probably ideal for certain types of dogs but not others. The zipper made me nervous that it would be easy to accidentally pinch her skin and I’m not sure she could go to the bathroom wearing it, even unzipped. I had an excellent experience returning with this company though. They sent a personal message and I received a refund quickly. As well, it really works for shedding and looked well made.Jodi R.
These onsies are so cool! We have 2 long hair dogs that shed and my grandma HATES dog hair. We ordered these so that we can take the dogs to my grandmas house without her worrying. I think if your dog is in between sizes, you need to order the bigger size. Looser is better than tighter. The onsie was pretty tight on our bigger dog but she didn’t seem to mind! They are light weight and super comfy. The sport mode is nice because it’s a little less fabric than the original! I feel like the dogs breathe a little better in sport mode.Kaylin

I'd like to share my experience with this model while comparing it with the Tracker light (which was purchased by SportDog about a year ago and discontinued by them in favor of this unit) Those familiar with the Tracker light know that there are two primary differences that are notable: 1) Base mount. 2) On/Off Switch. The lumens output is indistinguishable between the two units–both are quite bright. 1) Base Mount: The hard plastic base of this unit is the weak link. I say this with confidence because after our second pheasant hunt with the unit in typical high brush with our GSP (wearing a std. 1" urethane collar) one slide snapped off. I claimed warranty and they honored. I'd hoped that perhaps my first unit was from a poor mold batch. Unfortunately, on our very next hunt (ruffed grouse) with the new unit the exact same thing occurred again. The hard plastic is brittle and the mfg. needs to consider a more malleable composition..or altogether a different design. The Tracker light was a two piece design and employed a separate rubberized slide mount which was highly durable and provided the benefit of less slippage because of the slightly higher friction of the rubber. 2) On/Off Switch: This unit uses a very small slightly recessed switch that must be depressed for 5 seconds or so with either longer finger nails or preferably something that serving as a stylus (key, pen, etc). Overall this is a better design especially when compared to the older Tracker which required a clockwise turn of the lens but invariably would get very difficult to turn over time with dust, debris, age. Given the lack durable alternatives on the market I now use this light with a modification that involves applying a heavy duty velcro strap around through the slide slots, then fastening the velcro around the collar. Bottom line: If your dog isn't hard driving, or you're usually hunting in easy/low cover or plains then you'll probably be alright. Otherwise, consider the velcro modification.SteadyGSP
Duck 2/3 times per week in season. My dog likes to swim and explore when we are out setting decoys. We bought this so we don't run her over with the boat setting long lines. This works really well even at long distance. I dropped mine overboard and on my second one. Same great results. We used the carabiner attached to the collar and then on her vest when it got cold. We take it off at daylight so we don't loose it or break it. Seems durable. Turning it off can be difficult with the small button when its cold. Also at night when running the boat I would not recommed the white, yellow, orange. The light makes you see dots so we went with red both times. A friend has blue.oldyellowlab
I followed the directions exactly for attaching to the lanyard that comes with the light, but it slid off regardless and got lost in the woods after barely two hikes! Horrid attachment design! To boot, the button on the light was a super firm piece of metal that you have to hold so tightly down to turn the light on and off, that it hurts the fingers! You need a key or screwdriver or some other hard object just to push the button and make the light come on! For the money, this light is a pain, if you can even keep from losing it entirely!Janeway

Good quality doghouse. Purchased for my cats. A great hideaway and place to sleep without being chased by my dog! Four of the seven have used it. The others were a bit hesitant but since I removed the door flaps, I'm sure they will soon check it out. We all give it 5 starslsthe-oohcxjqb
Received it fast from shipper, Some plastic panels were a little bent/warped when they came out of the box and when you are assembling can be a bit challenging but no reason to throw in the towel. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars so far overall but I haven't had a chance to weather test it outside against the heat, rains and winds that we will be experiencing during the tropical rainy season in South Florida. Look forward to see how well I think it will hold up during this period and also year around. In addition but not as a necessity I plan on adding a new plastic sheet underneath the new elevated level concrete platform and some new comfortable bedding which will be inside covering the plastic flooring base for our priceless family dog. Also due to the nature of the tabbing in assembling this dog house which could be alot better in my opinion, I decided to glue the two piece plastic flooring base together for more strength something that I didn't have to do. I might decide in the future to glue it all together but for now until I complete all the weather testing I will leave it as is. I would suggest to the manufacturer to make the instructions a little clearer/easier to read, make the tabs snap together better and easier, add more vents on the sides if possible, replace the twofront pieces of plastic with screening and as a after market item a battery operated fan/heater that you can install to keep your dog cool or warm. Overall I believe that it is a good value for the money and it needs some basic improvements to be a great dog house. Thanks, Bye.diasmit_1
