I have a large black lab who is always full of energy and begging to play. We had a 3' rope that was his favorite but it was starting to fall apart from use. I was very excited to find this 6' rope for him. As soon as I took it out of the box, he grabbed it from me before I could even get the packaging off of it. It has a little bit of a stretch to it which is nice when playing tug of war. The rope is thick and sturdy and feels like it will last longer than his last one did. The colors are a vibrant blue, orange and black. It has 5 knots on it instead of just the standard 3 which gives more places to get a grip when playing. The 3 foot rope wouldn't leave much room between our hands and his excited mouth when he grabbed it. This 6' rope is perfect and keeps our hands out of the way. If you have an aggressive chewer purchase an ACTUAL CHEW TOY for them as this rope toy is not going to last, despite the description saying this toy promotes dental hygiene. A strong chewer is going to tear this thing up to a pile of threads. I have an aggressive chewer and the rope toy lasted about 2 weeks. That's with me monitoring play, putting it up when he would try to tear it up. Once he was able to get it to the point of shredding, I just let him have it to finish up. This will leave a HUGE mess of threads all over your carpet. He of course loved it and thought it was the best thing ever to tear up. If you monitor play more than I did, you'll get more mileage out of it.C.
We bought this rope in preparation for our new goldendoodle puppy in March of 2017. Of all the toys we bought him, this is one of two that have proven the test of time. (The other was, surprisingly, a non-researched, spontaneous purchase from the Walmart pet isle.) Our Winston Loves this rope, and it has lasted through teething and countless rough games of tug-of-war. Its getting a little worn but still has some good life left in it after more than a year and a half of active play. We dog-sat a smaller dog, and Winston had his rope in shreds in just minutes. This rope is not only a GREAT VALUE but it is also QUALITY MADE. I have bought 6 of these so far because they are by far the best I have found. They are THICKER and SOFTER than the average ones out there which makes for more enjoyment for my Pit Bulls. The braided rope seems to be better quality than most that I have purchased in the past and they last longer before being shredded around the house, LOL. My dog absolutely loved this toy, but it made me nervous. I had gotten her the small version of this as a puppy, and she easily untied it, and I’ve heard all of the bad things that can happen to your beloved pup if they ingest too much rope. So I was very careful to closely supervise her when playing with this toy, and put it up and away when I couldn’t watch her with it. Sure enough, the same thing happened – she untied it. So I just threw it away. I guess they’re cheap for a reason.jess.a
