Excellent dog crate! Lots of mesh to let in air and light. It has a nice carrying case for traveling. The Sherpa pad that is included is washable and soft. This is a sturdy crate that will not collapse. It has several points of entry which is nice as well.vthokiesno1

We have a Catahoula pup and ordered the 36” soft camo crate. It fits perfectly in our Jeep and is great for travel purposes. I have read reviews on rips and tears but this crate is made very well! Only reason there would be an issue is if the dog is not crate trained/loves to chew and scratch. It did take a bit for our pup to get use to it in the car but once he did it has been the best! Super easy to store away as well.

The medium size I got was a lot bigger than I thought which is a wonderful surprise. I’ve split it into 2 and the double doors make it possible. I am currently training my little pup to use the other side as a bathroom as he weathers his first Chicago winter. Love it! And the great thing is the large window on the side is able to be tucked in the top to keep one side always open. The other smaller door doesn’t tuck on the top but that doesn’t bother me because that door is against the wall and not an issue at all. Quality seems great. Have had it for a few weeks and I love it. And so does my lil 10lb pup in his medium crate (but it’s large for him!). I love Petco. So sorry I can’t give this kennel a 5 star rating. Love the style. Purchased “large” size for 40 pound female lab/hound mix, 17 months young; fit perfectly (even 75 pound male “cousin” slept curled up a couple of times, for novelty). She’s not perfectly kennel/crate trained. Visiting our daughter & didn’t want dog to run around unsupervised. 1st time used kennel successfully for a few hours. 2nd time unfortunately used a lot longer. She was observed on camera chewing/pulling on rear end and pushing way out of bottom (latched) small front door. She got minor abrasions on cheek and paw; was a TIGHT SQUEEZE out. MOST UNFORTUNATE! Ughhhh; other purchasers had reported wire weaknesses, but I truly wanted to believe that my dog wouldn’t be strong enough. I will talk to customer service now. We have a growing 7 month-old newfypoo so needed to upgrade our crate to a larger size. I chose this crate for 2 specific reasons: #1, the height and #2, the top-folding door on the side of the crate. My newfypoo needed the additional height so he isn't hunched over if he's sitting up. The height on this size has given him an inch or two of extra clearance and should still work when he's done growing. For the 2nd point, I LOVE the top-folding side door. Because of where we keep the crate, we only use the side door and it has been awesome not having to walk around a door that opens to the side and is in the way of the main flow of traffic. Even though the crate is noticeably bigger than our old one, it feels like it takes up the same amount of space because of that door. I can't speak highly enough of it. For more practical items, the crate is very sturdy and well made. There were no problems with shipping and other than needing a little muscle, the crate went together very easily. My newfypoo isn't one that will try to escape from a crate, so I can't speak to that, but I have been very impressed with the quality of this crate and how easy it was to get my big-little puppy used to it. Exactly what I needed. My 5 month puppy had outgrown the first carrier and I needed something to use in the car and it fits perfectly. I put it in the backseat and the seatbelt fits and keeps it in place. I put it in the rear passenger side and I can see him and he can see me. Note of caution: there is a strap with a hook inside the crate. I found that it was too short to allow him to move around so hooking your dog up to strap may not be a good idea.Reid1

We purchased this to replace smaller older crates for our Bernese Mountain Dog. Having two doors is a definate plus for crates this size. The doors are unique in that they have a duel latching system. The doors are lifted before opening and the slide latch provides extra security. It is sturdy, easily assembled. While the one that shipped arrived damaged a trip to the local store provided a replacement and with minor inconvenience our pup's new home was setup and ready in very short order. I highly recommend for ease of assembly, quality of materials and the two door lift and latch system.Chestnutt

Our retriever puppy inherited our previous dog’s crate but quickly outgrew it. After shopping around and reading dozens of reviews we decided to go to Petco and take a look at this 43” crate. We purchased it on the spot. It assembled in just a few seconds and it feels strong and secure. We like the multiple “catches” that secure the doors, as our older crate did not have that feature. Most importantly our dog has the room she needs in there whenever we all have to leave her alone in the house.gbito

Sturdy and I like the double locking system. The doors have to be lifted to set in place for the bolt to slide into place. We paid special attention to the bolt shape when shopping for a crate since GSDs are extremely intelligent. The bolt is L shaped instead of a straight bar, making it more difficult for our pup to open the door when locked. The divider is very handy and works well even though wire doesn’t line up exactly due to the side door. The lip at the bottom of the crate is a bit taller than other crates and my puppy tripped over it sometimes when she was under 3 months old, clumsy and overly excited running into her crate. Now that she is more coordinated she no longer trips over the lip. We purchased the XXL 49” crate for our GSD pup with the divider so she’ll have plenty of room when she’s full grown. Overall great crate but could’ve been perfect with a few minor adjustments.Elle223

I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I had purchased this crate and I had found the design exactly what I was looking for. So I have bought 2 more and I plan to purchase 2 more soon. I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. This pet crate is extremely sturdy, which is especially important at our dog rescue. It works for a medium to large dog, but has three Chihuahuas romping around in it at the present time. I am very happy that I got the 49" size so there is more room. More room is good, very good in deed.marysp

We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. Even stacked, these crates have good strength and a solid build. I can't say enough about how exceptional these crates are and the divider is great when needing to separate pets in a pinch.mslubner

We've had a few crates over the years and they are all much of a muchness. However, I really like the way the doors latch on this one. You can simply lift it up and over the little lug at the bottom for a quick shut option, or if you have a rowdy inhabitant, you can also slide across the latch in a traditional manner. Hard to explain, but a neat function. I take one to dog training regularly (it folds up as you would expect although with a big dog it is heavy) and I also pair it with the Midwest Crate Cover which is also nice and light, but provides a visual barrier if things are getting a little exciting outside!Belinda

This is a great crate. It folds up when not in use. It was a great value for the price. My dog is a German Shepard/Lab mix, so she's a big girl. She loves lounging around in it throughout the day. I would likely buy another one if needed for a new dog. I took away one star because when left locked inside, while I'm gone, she was able to easily destroy the bottom plastic tray. However, when I got home he hasn't escaped and there was absolutely no damage to the crate. We have a chubby chihuahua that is petrified of the wind and storms we have here during the monsoon season… I'ved tried a calming coat and letting her sleep with us but she shakes so badly, no one could get any sleep! I had a feeling this little pink crate might do the trick! At first, she was hesitant to even get in it, but I left her little bed in it and after only 2 days she was laying in there and feeling very secure! We had lots of wind and dust storms the last two nights and son of a gun, there was Baby, tucked in her crate, not bothered by the storm. My 3 year old grandson was over today playing with his toys in it and it's pretty sturdy too! Setting it up took only two minutes right out of the box with no loose parts to worry about. Wow, a crate that is pretty. I don't know if that matters to the pets, but I sure like looking at a blue crate. A baby blue to be exact. This crate is small. The one piece package is easy to open, setup and breakdown for storing and transporting. It weighs 11 lbs. It measures 24 1/2" long x 18" wide and just under 21" high. When closed up the 21" high becomes approximately 3 1/2 inches and latches closed. It doesn't have a carry handle which is disappointing. No divider is included, but really not necessary for a small one door crate. The tray is solid with no imprint as others that I have and that's a plus. The even surface is much easier to clean. The sliding latch is easy and stays in place. I noticed that the paint makes it a tiny bit "thicker" and requires just a little more effort to setup and breakdown than my others. A few spots of paint have chipped off due to this. And because it doesn't have any sharp edges even under these chips; it's nothing of concern, just an observation. Very smooth bars and connections. The crate has a single door which is fine for my pet room, but if you need to move it around or transport in small spaces, you might want one with a double door. I have set this up in my pet rescue room along with my larger crates. I really like this size and plan to put several more of these small crates in the pet room. I see there are pink ones also. And I want one for my own cats because it seems to be a fantastic method for timeouts! Half a star off for not having a carry handle. Purely my hang up, since it's lightweight I can just as easily pick it up by sticking fingers through bars on top, but not too easy when a pet is inside. This was probably the easiest cage I've ever had to put together. It literally folds in on itself and I didn't even have to attach the door. Once I figured out which side had to go up first, it was a breeze. The pink color makes it really cute. Not just a wire dog cage. It is just a cage however. It doesn't have a carrying handle on top, and I'm not sure if it would hold together really well with a dog or two in it and carrying it around. But it is perfect for bed time or when you are training a new puppy or when you are gone. I have 2 yorkie girls and they both fit in it fine and had plenty of room. And the ease of folding it up flat to travel makes it perfect for a portable cage.krmills

Reviews are misleading. I cannot imagine that this thing sits under an airline seat. This thing is as big as a dog house. I have a 6 pound Yorkie. I am four foot ten inches tall. There is no way that I am going to haul this thing around. Now I will have to return it. My husband and I got a puppy from the pound. She was only 2 months old when we brought her home. Using this crate for the first year help us keep our home intact! she would only be put in the crate when we were gone, that way we knew she was safe and not getting into trouble chewing furniture or peeing in the house. those two door design is fantastic! So easy to get them in and out. She loved her crate like a second home. We added blankets and toys, food and water and there was plenty of room for our little Savannah….even now when she weighs about 60 pounds she still fits comfortably.jay.m

I have two of this size (one door model). I have had these things for ohhh, 10 years…I raised three rotty's in them and kept various rescues of all animal kinds in them until I could get them off to rescue people over the years. They did duty in the barn area for poultry for most of the last 6 years and got messed on all over the place, were damp in the winter and were used like tables with a board on top. Ended up with another rescue that might stay…looked at em all poultry encrusted and dusty and cobwebby and shook my head thinking they're done. They have been through the wringer the last 6 years. I realized I really don't have the money to buy new so decided to try to clean them up as a futile attempt to not have to buy more. I had to at least try. 2 hours ,a bucket of warm soapy water, a scrubby , washcloth and a hose later…OMG. They cleaned up GREAT. The handles of the latches were slightly slightly rusty here or there where the black coating flaked off (about the only place it has flaked off and then only small spots), the metal tubes that connects the panels together a little dull, pitted and slightly rusty here or there and that is IT! They still work just fine and they look award winning good considering where they have been. If not for the latches and the connector pieces they could pass as gently used items despite what they have been through. So essentially, if you want a solid, quality crate that is priced reasonably and WORTH every darn penny….go with precision crates. One precision crate could very likely last you all of your adult life if you stayed with the same size dog. As it is now we have the two x lrgs, 1 mediumish, and 2 for 30 lbs or less dogs. And because I am so impressed with what I have,….I'm going to be buying this X-lrg 2 door version to fit in a spot where a single door crate won't work in my house. Remember- Don't throw away an extra crate that is in working order, donate it to someone who can't afford a crate or find a rescue group that needs it (crates are good for lots of different animals).Windchyme

My first impression was the quality of the plastic crate. Sturdy and attractive. And it was simple to put together. Everything lined up nicely. I purchased this for my rescue with separation anxiety. So my dogs are rescues. The first one hated the metal wire crate. 3 years & another rescue added to our pack I decided to try crating again to save my home. I was a bit nervous because this was a huge investment – I purchased 2 cates & 2 crate beds. I assembled the crates in the bedroom where they would be placed. I allowed my dogs to watch me and inspect. I even stood inside the crate before assembling so they could see. I put in the cushy furry bed, got a treat, said kennel up and Bam! They climbed right in, I closed the door and gave them their treat. They absolutely LOVE their crates. When they get frightened from the thunder & lightning, they kennel up and are happier & safer. When we have people coming to visit, especially new to the pups, I kennel them up about 10 minutes before guests arrive. Once guests show up, I explain to them to ignore the dogs when I let them out. Just let them come up to you and sniff you. This has worked wonders for our 2nd rescue to feel safe. Our family can't image life without these crates. They are sturdy as well.aegisprncs

I love all the ventilation on this crate and the two door option. It has a handle on top and its not too heavy although a little unwieldy. However its pretty compact and my 5 month old toy Aussie Shepherd weighs 14 lbs sleeps in it overnight.Consumer

This is not really a kennel, more like a pop up shelter as it will not really confine a dog or cat that wants to get out of it. I use it to create a den-like atmosphere for my dog, a go to place when we are travelling. Put a blanket over it and it gets dark and comfy and a more quiet place for pup to rest in.karlroberteriksson78
