The good reviews are new owners, they won't like them long term! The foam will mold underneath.
The $70 "waterproof" liners are NOT waterproof. A spill right in the middle of the XL bed went straight thru the cover and "waterproof" liner and got the foam wet. The foam does not dry out once wet!! I went on their website to order another "waterproof" liner thinking maybe mine is defective. I saw that it was $70 so I decided to look for a promo code.
They texted me that I left my item in the cart and here is a $25 promo code. I went back to use it and it didn't work.
I messaged them that it didn't work and they said it's because there's a $105 minimum. I told them that they messaged me saying they saw my cart and here's $25 off. All she said sorry for the inconvenience. I told her the liner isn't waterproof and instead of complaining I was going to order another one.
Her suggestion was to add more to my cart to use the code she sent.
I told her I was going to post screenshots and a review and she said, "okay, let me know if you need help"

K9 is the only dog bed I buy now. We have hunting dogs that are very tough on everything in their environment. 7 English setters. We started several years ago with one bed to see if it really could withstand the daily abuse from our crew. While they could not tear rip or even damage these beds we found they fought over them. Now each one of them have their own beds and they are in each kennel with their names on them. We did not even have to put name tags up since the names are so easy to see. Each dog know which bed belongs to them and They gladly run into kennels at night to sleep on orthopedic luxury. I rarely need to hose them off but all beds get a regular cleaning to freshen up. Sorry. Love the idea of this bed(we bought two!), but we have two dogs and both refuse to lay on these beds. Not sure if it is the fabric?— it makes a noise whenever the dogs move, the height? —it is several inches off the ground , or the firmness? – it is the firmest “memory foam” I have encountered. Or maybe it’s all three. Both dogs cower when they see the bed. I try to give them treats in the bed— they have their tail between their legs like the bed is punishment. I bought these beds so the dogs wouldn’t rip through them- and they won’t- especially because they refuse to use them. Disappointed.Bob G.
To show you how large this bed is, behold our 9-year-old 220LB GREAT DANE! He still has room to spare! He loves the bed and it supports his hips really well. We bought both the bolster and rectangle orthopedic beds. The beds are very well made & much easier to change than his older beds. My only regret is the cover. The only color that wouldn't totally clash with our furniture was the grey and it is made of velvet, so his hair sticks to it. Also you can see drool spots when they dry. My dog always tears his crate pads into pieces. I used to patch them like crazy. I bought a big dog bed from K9 for both of my dogs over Christmas and it is still in awesome condition, so I was definitely ready to order from them again. So for my second order I bought the Tough Dog Crate Pad. It lasted for a couple months but then he managed to get a hole in it and started tearing it apart from there. It definitely held up better, but once he got to the stuffing I knew it was over. K9 was awesome and gave me a full credit to apply to a different bed. I chose this one as a replacement and it is GREAT. I think because it's thicker than the crate pad, it's more durable and harder for him to get his mouth around. The fabric is durable but the bed is also cushioned for comfort. I highly recommend this mattress, and this company!Christine
We have two German Shepherds that have tended to shred beds after about a week. For the longest time we had resorted to providing just a ruminate piece of carpet in their crates so they were not laying on just the plastic pan. As they are getting older we really wanted to find a bed that would provide cushion and support for their aging bodies. Having had our eye on the K9 ballistics beds for a while, but not quite ready to spend the asking price, we finally purchased two orthopedic crate mats for our pups. When they arrive the craftmanship and materials exceeded expectations. After allowing the beds to come to their full size for a few hours we put them in their crate. There was some digging and scratching at them- but the beds were unscathed. Later that evening the two of them looked so comfortable and content and it felt so good to know they had cushion that they were not going to destroy and potentially ingest. They have had their beds for about a week now and other than some hair on them they look as good as new. It seems they will have their beds for a long time. I love that the cover comes off and that there is another waterproof cover for the mattress. I have a Husky pup who is now about 1 year. He destroys pretty much everything and anything he comes into contact with unless he's had a good 3-5 hours playing and wrestling with dogs, long doggie playdates, or a good hike. When he calms down he likes his crate. However, if he is laying "still" anywhere, he will still find a way to destroy things being a chewer. He has destroyed every bed I've bought, and has partially destroyed a couch he's allowed on. With this bed, so far so good. It's still intact. He didn't destroy it in the first 5 minutes, and so far, no signs of damage. So far 5 stars. I'll contact the company if he destroys it. Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. We kept it as it is a lovely mat but it is one size too small for our pup's crate.
This seems to be a good dog bed. Be prepared…. it takes 3 to 4 days for it to “fluff up”. It comes rolled up and it was really flat considering the specifications said it was 4” high! Letting it set to fluff it took about 3 days for it to become 4” high. The cover is a bit loose but does not bother my girl, she really likes her new bed. We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. Im beginning to think the 2nd bed may have to be returned/replaced. I will give it a couple more days, but it dosent look like it has made any progress in the last couple days.Brenda101

I was so happy to find this item. The description states "Recommended for pets 65 to 110 lbs" but I wanted a dog bed with more body so I purchased this for my two dogs to share – one weighing 45 one weighing 55 pounds. They both take turns using it. I have a few beds at different places on the floor, and was looking for one that was waterproof. This wonderful item is thick, but comfortable enough for my senior dogs, and has a nice cover which unzips on TWO sides making removal and putting back on so easy. (If you have struggled with those pads that require stuffing in the inner pad you know what I mean.) The outer cover washes nicely (I zip it almost completely closed and wash on gentle, being careful not to catch any loose threads into the zipper.) There is a separate inner cover made of a plastic type material which also zips on, but you probably would not be taking that off as you could wipe it clean if needed. This is a well made dog bed. Easy to put together, very comfortable for my dog, stays cleaner than other dog beds, easy to remove and wash. I have a labrador retriever and initially got the large size, but exchanged it for the jumbo. The large size was a good size, but upon watching him sleep, i found out he likes to stretch out. Yes the jumbo size is very large and requires a lot of space in your room, but it is worth it to see him stretch out or curled up in his very comfy bed. A little pricey but he is worth it. I tried other beds and they are of inferior quality and won't last long. I highly recommend it. For your reference my dog is about 73 Lbs and measured 40 inches when laying down and lightly curled. My 13 year old Lab was going for spirited 2 mile walks 4 months ago but alas, age it seems has finally caught up with my dearest and closest friend. One of my great danes is 7 1/2. He threw out his poor old back a day before I ordered this bed it was absolutely awful to see him hurt so bad. It was his old bed. I ordered this after his vet appointment and I was relieved to see big barker shipped it the same day, the Friday before memorial day. Memorial weekend passed and we got it on Tuesday. I also want to mention that I appreciate a product made in the US, I buy what I can American made. He laid on it for a few days and then quit and then I realized it was because it didn't smell like his stinky old blankets that he enjoys so much, so after I put his favorite smelly blanket on the bed he took to it immediately. We got the XL with 1 side that has a pillow. He hasn't seemed to care about the pillow much so he avoids it. Only one dane can fit on the bed but he is a big beefy euro dane. I absolutely plan on ordering again for our 2nd great dane but getting the flat XL version, maybe swapping them out for the boys. Reggie my injured dane was hand raised by me with love, he was a rescue that I fostered at 2 weeks and we fell in love with him so we were fortunate to be able to adopt him. I used to kangaroo him because he was so small and ill he couldnt retain his own body temp. So safe to say I love my dogs like they're my own children. Very glad I decided to give it a shot. It was expensive but so is an emergency vet appointment with a hurt back. Well worth the money if it makes his final years earthside comfortable.Jessi
It's been 3 years since I first experienced a Big Barker that was generously donated to a special needs dog at the rescue where I work in Missouri. 18 mo. later we bought one for our 80# Akita/Shepherd Knarly after I saw how that donated bed stood up to the wear and tear of daily shelter use. That was 18 mo ago. We lost him in February to what looked like cancer, but it was a fast end to a big life full of adventure. He loved this thing. I love this thing. It kept me from waking up every 40 minutes when he got uncomfortable crammed onto our queen sized memory foam mattress (we're not small people either) and hopped stiffly down to the carpet, then got back up with us a little while later. I miss the big, comfortable sigh he'd give us every night once his chin hit the pillow. And he slept HARD, with his bad leg hanging off the side. I miss our dog. The bed's still going strong under our 60# pit mix, though. He likes to hang his rear end off, elbows on the bed, and stretch his back legs out with his toes all spread out, then belly crawl the rest of the way onto it, draped over the middle of it. Pitties are weird. At least mine's weird and comfy! I think, nostalgia aside, what's impressed me the most is that there's NO WEAR to this bed, the foam *or* the cover. Other than the seasonal shedding fur right now, it looks like it did the day I took it out of the box. I can't find human products that stand up to the beating our dogs give things, so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of this bed already. Knowing it's designed for 10 years of use just means I've invested in all of my dogs' health for a good while longer. I'm here today getting a Lg Sleek for our Rottie mix's crate. I’ve been buying beds for my big old man for a long time. He’s about 100lbs, and he’s 14 years old. Now he’s hurt and doesn’t walk well, so he spends the majority of his time in bed, and it’s even more important to have a good bed. To get a halfway decent bed, it’s usually about $150+, and I’m still disappointed. The memory foam is thin or goes flat. Some beds actually have thick foam, but they’re not memory foam, and they’re too dense and firm. The last bed I bought said that it was 5” thick with dual foam. It seemed nice enough when I sat on it, but exactly a year later, when I laid on it for an hour, my joints were all killing me. I felt almost like I had been lying on the floor. Every review said that this was hands down the best bed. I was really looking for something more in my budget, but I couldn’t find anything even half as good as this one, and I had just paid $180 for the other one, and had to replace it after a year! If I had bought this one a year ago, my pup would be happier, and I wouldn’t be buying another, so it’s a sound investment. I didn’t really have the money for it right now, and didn’t want my dog to have to wait for a new bed, but then I read that they offer Affirm, which acts like a payment plan! So I could have the bed now! I was sold. OMG, I’m so glad I bought it. This bed says it’s 7” thick. The old bed said 5”, but the Big Barker is at least twice as thick as the old one! I don’t know if the Big Barker measurements are modest, or if the other bed’s were inflated, or if that’s how flat it went over the year or what, but the Big Barker immediately exceeded my expectations. It’s super comfy – the right amount of support and squish. My dog is happy. It’s the best quality bed I’ve ever bought. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. This thing is going to last. Two things I would change, though. One, I wish the covers were available in green. My dog has become incontinent, so I wish that the outside cover was waterproof. I know they sell a waterproof membrane for the inside, which is good. I wish there was an option for a super tough, durable, waterproof cover. One of the beds I had before had that, and rather than having to constantly remove the cover, wash, and replace it, I could leave the whole cover on, and soap/hose it down really quick. It was also chew resistant (not a problem in my house, but sure kills two birds with one stone). Anyway, it’s fine, I wrapped the bed including the cover in a 6-sided waterproof encasement, and I have multiple waterproof blankets, so I layer one of those on the bed, and then put down a couple of washable waterproof pads too, so it’s protected. As such, his photos don’t show off the bed as well as they could.blackviolet

This bed is very well made and my dog loves it! I have a 80lb lab mix who is starting to have hip issues. He likes to stretch out. The reviews/size guide indicated he would fit the large. I got the XL because he is pretty sprawly in our bed (we have a king). It is perfect for him. If your dog sleeps curled up, you can go with the large but for someone who stretches out this was perfect and the bed itself is not ridiculously oversized.AJPP
I had purchased the older version of this bed a few years ago (not from here thank gawd) it was amazing went to find another and found this which seems to be updated version. Well FINALLY got it (tractor supply cheap and doesnt pay for wknd delivery) the cover is so rough and not soft at all and what its sad is the arms are not attached.(so i could have planned for the extra space would have been nice to know. as much money as this costs as i first time customer i will be a last time customer.TC95
I have been through numerous beds and this one by far is the best. I was looking for something that wouldn't wear down and get flattened from use within mths. I was also looking for a waterproof liner as our Dane sometimes has accidents at night. This bed is just like a human mattress and the foam is lined to keep accidents out. Many beds have uncomfortable material that is used for the waterproofing, this bed has regular material for comfort where the dog lays and has a separate soft layer of waterproofed material around the foam mattress. Both can be taken off easily and washed. Every time my 4 year old Bullmastiff started feeling warm and fuzzy would start chewing on the corner of his bed. I tried several beds, from which pieces of stuffing still remain forever floating around the living room. I scoured the internet for his "Very Last Last Chance Bed". His derriere was going to be sleeping on the floor for all of eternity if he chewed this one up. Here I am in 2020 reviewing somethinv I bought in 2018. Why? Well because my dog literally still sleeps on this every day. He's about an 80 black mouth cur and he hasn't trained it yet. The only thing is that I washed the cover a lot and it's finally wearing a bit thin. It's held up exceptionally well though and I can't say how impressed I am. The memory foam is still holding up. It's not permanently indented which is q major shock with such a big dog. So, yeah buy it!!

My puppy really likes laying on it. His favorite part is the fabric pea (like The Princess and the Pea) that came with it. It is his favorite ball. It is nice and soft, squeaks. and the right size for his mouth. It is great for playing fetch inside because it will not hurt anything. It is well made. My dog loves her new this is a size Medium but there wasn’t that option to select on Influenster. The bed comes just like those beds in a box that expand once you take them out. It says it can take up to 3 days before it’s fully expanded but it seemed to expand completely within an hour or two. The cover is removable to wash. For reference my dog is 23 pounds and a Mini Schnauzer. The bed is perfect for her size. It also came with a little green ball which is suppose to be a “pea” like Princess and the pea and she loves the ball. #furryfriendsalexis.s
