I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. Our Maltese is spoiled, I must admit….he has six other coats. I know that, in the Winter months, this will be the only one worn! Because of the warmth of this coat, he will no longer need to wear a sweater. Simply zip it up the back (so convenient) and utilize the rings for attaching the leash and out you go! I'm sure it will be more comfortable and warmer than wearing both a sweater and a light weight coat which doesn't provide much protection against the cold. As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. Will be returning. Our Yorkie mix weighs 10 lbs and measured 14 inches around her chest. Based on the size chart, we ordered her a size Small. We paid extra for shipping. When it got here, it looked tiny. I adjusted the straps and tried putting it on our pup but it’s too small! It barely went over her head and wouldn’t close even at the largest adjusted strap point. Either your size chart is wrong or your product is mislabeled. I will be returning this harness. I like this harness! I have a mini aussie and he is a chewer. Sometimes with these he will somehow find his way to nibble around the edges of the harness and tear through it. I purchased this for my 6 month old, 26lb rescue pup a few weeks ago to replace a different brand she outgrew. She loved her new harness and I admit that it appeared to be very comfortable. However, she pulled while we were walking yesterday and the straps snapped. She ran into the street, but thankfully no vehicles were nearby. The straps are flimsy and will not stand up to a quick pull. My pup is very petite, and I still can't believe how easily the straps ripped. I can't recommend this at all. I've had this harness for maybe 4 months now and at first I loved it, besides the plastic loops…they make me nervous that they're going to snap because my dog is a puller. On our normal walks this harness has been fine because my dog does pull so she is almost always in front of me. Today we went to the park and she wrapped the leash around a pole and was able to very easily pull her way out of it. Thankfully there were no other dogs around and I was able to catch her within a few minutes but my dog is dog reactive so this would have been an absolute disaster if there were other dogs around. Great harness. I had the regular Gooby escape-free, but the extra-small was too big for my dog. I had to buy this in the small, which is smaller than the XS in the other. Makes no sense. Great quality harness. I like that they have no velcro compared to other harnesses I own. This style works great under shirts, coats, and sweaters. This is our second Gooby harness purchase. I actually prefer this style to the previous mesh one with suede trim. Although the suede is super soft, it tends to stretch a bit and the light blue appeared to fade after extended use. I love the step-in style…it's perfect for our active little Yorkie!!!Linda B
We had previously purchased the Gooby Trekking Step-in Memory Foam Dog Harness РMandarin Orange РMedium and loved it so we thought this harness would be great as well. We ordered a medium, yet runs smaller than the ‘trekking’ harness (that medium fits her perfectly) Therefore it seems a bit too tight even on the loosest setting. We also ordered a large (from another website) and although that seems to fit her a bit more comfortably, it seems a bit too big. Just frustrated with the sizing on this harness but otherwise the design is what we need for our pup. If you can get the right fit, then it’s great!Leah W

Will be returning. Our Yorkie mix weighs 10 lbs and measured 14 inches around her chest. Based on the size chart, we ordered her a size Small. We paid extra for shipping. When it got here, it looked tiny. I adjusted the straps and tried putting it on our pup but it’s too small! It barely went over her head and wouldn’t close even at the largest adjusted strap point. Either your size chart is wrong or your product is mislabeled. I will be returning this harness. Which is too bad because I love the harness she has from your company but it is stinky now and the smell won’t wash away. I won’t be ordering another harness from you because I won’t be paying shipping again and it may not fit and I’ll have to return.LoveBlueDiamonds
I like this harness! I have a mini aussie and he is a chewer. Sometimes with these he will somehow find his way to nibble around the edges of the harness and tear through it. (We’ve been through 3 harnesses) Anyways, I wish it were a little easier to out on with the clip that has to go through the strap but I guess thats why he is so secure.
