In the last 3-4 months the Shredded blend is horrible. There are no moist chicken pieces and is just dry kibble and my dogs will not eat it. I complained to the company where I order my food from telling them that they sent me the wrong product. They sent me another bag and there's still no chicken pieces. I did not read Purina's own reviews, instead I concentrated on others. My poodle loved the Small Breed Petite Races Chicken and Rice, but beginning in around Feb 2022, she started to not love eating. We thought she was either ill or it was perhaps the rawhide bones or her new "trio" heartworm-flea-tick med. I recently read the Purina's own reviews and many say this food smells. I recently got a Chinese Crested as the result of a need to rehome. He was usually fed puppy chow of some brand and the former owner was supposed to provide enough for me to phase him over to this brand after I’d researched and decided this would probably be best for him. However, she didn’t give me any and I was worried I’d have to try and find it to phase him out. Fortunately, he loved it and was eating it like he had been his whole life. WOW! I have a 9 month old Pomeranian who doesn't really like to eat his kibbles, it'll take him forever, if not hours to eat his food, sometimes he doesn't even finish it. I've contemplated on switching his food but hated wasting a big bag of dog food. I've tried bone broth, didn't really work. This chicken food topper helps our fussy eating puppy to eat her dog food. She is more likely to eat her food with the flavoring on it than if it doesn’t. We’ve tried the beef too. We seem to try to be creative with her food rather than let it sit in her dish untouched. Perhaps we spoil her, but we worry when she refuses to eat for days. I had never bought food for my dog from this brand before, so I was unsure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my dogs willingness to try this new food! Loki, my male Australian Shepard, really seemed to enjoy it overall. All of the food are the same flat circle shape, and did not have any smell that I could tell. He ate his entire bowl happily. It seemed to work well with his stomach, and there are really no negatives I can give for this particular brand and flavor! The only suggestion I have that would make this great product even better would be to add a seal to the bag itself, so that it could be closed in between feedings. I think the fact that all of the ingredients are organic is fantastic, and I love knowing that I am giving my dog the best food available. One is a Teacup and the other a Toy size. My teacup is the pickiest eater, she will not eat any type of dog, so I was excited to try because I literally have full bags of dog food that she just will not eat. My other baby will eat anything honestly, it is really rare when he doesn't. I immediately knew he would love it. I opened the box with them and they both wagged their tails in excitement which was already a good sign. I opened the bag and I saw my teacup smell it and pull back, after a few sniffles she started eating the food and liked. I was so glad I thought it would last only for a day or two and she would go back to her way of not eating anymore but it has been about a week or two since I have the food and she enjoys it! I am so happy I will totally order more before I run out. 😂 I think the ingredients are pretty awesome they are great choices and very nutrient for my babies. I love how it's organic as well. I recently changed my dog over from a purina food that shes been on fir many years to Hills science diet Age defying dry dog food. I folliwed my vets instructions and slowly weaned my dog over. We went threw the first 2 bags with now problem. By the time we got 3 bags in she was eating just the Hills Science Diet. When i purchased and first opened bag #3 to feed my dog she sid not eat rite away. This is Highly unlike my pup who normally gobbles all down in seconds. Eventually though, she ate the food and i didnt think much more. In the next 24 hours soft stool started. This continued for 2 days befor turning ti bloody stool. An abrubt visit to the vet uncovered no real answer other than obvious vissous diarrhea. They reccomended a bland diet of white rice and boiled chicken and perscribed and anti-inflammatory/anti diarrghea medication and reccomended possible emergency vet visit if not improved in the coming days. I took my do off the Hills food and instantly she seemed to improove. After finihing the medication from the vet they reccomended slowly weaning off the chicken &rice back onto her normal diet. So i added a small bit if the Hills bag of food that we had (bag #3) and back came the issue. Back to the vet, more test…no conclusion. Stoped and went back to chicken and rice and Improvement again! Finially decided ti go back and get a bag if our old purina dog food and stated trying to wean from chicken and rice to this dry dog food….success! Vet concluded all signs lead to this bag of Hills Science diet was the ussue…..you must recall!!!!save your animals people!! DDONT FEED

I switched to Royal Canin (from Blue) a couple of months ago at the recommendation of my Vet. So glad I did, as I have seen an incredible difference in my 8 year old Golden. My lab has had a lot of trouble/ allergic reactions to many foods at similar price ranges. Note to readers- please get your lab off that grain-free diet (unless they're allergic)! My pup was suffering from that food. I needed to make a change quickly. My boyfriend's family has a beautiful lab who is so happy and healthy and they recommended Royal Canin to me. After hours of research and phone calls with my vet, I decided to take their advice and make the switch. Boy am I glad I did. My dog loves it! From the moment it came out of the box she loved it. I have a hard time feeding her dry food on its own but this dog wanted to eat it out of the bag! As I transitioned her onto royal canin she refused to eat her old food and has had no poor reactions to it. My favorite part of the food is how it's breed-specific – my dog is getting what she needs. Although this is one of the pricier brands of food, your dog will thank you. I can assure you it will pay off. Once I got the OK from the vet I immediately bought it. Petco has the lowest price for this food if you look around and the repeated delivery is amazing as I won't forget to pick up Molly's food. Additionally, shipping is free and it came in 2 days. I switched to Royal Canin (from Blue) a couple of months ago at the recommendation of my Vet. So glad I did, as I have seen an incredible difference in my 8 year old Golden. Before Royal Canin, his energy level was low, coat was lackluster and eyes appeared cloudy. Cannot believe the difference in our 8 year old!! He finally plays (really plays!) with our 18 month old Golden, which she needed. His coat is soft and shiny AND his eyes look clear and healthy!! Thank you Royal Canin for such a great product!Deb54

Just got my new (5 month old) Lab puppy. The breeder has used Royal Canin Lab puppy and adult food for many years with only good results; she more or less insisted I continue with this food. Over the last 6 weeks or so, my (large) puppy has literally devoured all of his 3 feedings per day. They say the shape of the kibble (hole in middle) slows them down, but I had to get a special fitting in his bowl to slow him down a lot more. Delivery was very fast (a day or two).Howard B.

I have a 13lb bichon frise who typically eats other Purina Pro Plan food, but he’s a very picky eater and often goes on hunger strikes. I like the idea that it might promote calmness because he’s quite hyper. Seems like it’s marketed exactly to us because there’s even a bichon on the bag! The kibble size is perfect and it’s not too smelly (unlike the salmon pro plan we used to feed him). We mixed this in with his usual food, Purina Pro Plan small breed beef shredded blend. He was really excited and gobbled iton the first day, but subsequently has gone back to his usual picky eating patterns. When I held a piece of the beef and this one in each hand, he only ate the beef. So I don’t think this is his favorite flavor. I’m planning to keep using it especially if it might actually promote calmness, but I’ll probably keep combining it with his favorite beef food rather than switch completely.jennifer.b

I have enjoyed the benefits of this food, and it really seems to make a difference in anxiety. Not only that, but energy levels and skin and coat are also great. Overall, this product is amazing. However, please, PLEASE make more variety for this line! My other dog who would really benefit from this food is intolerant of poultry. I would buy it for her in a heartbeat if there were proteins other than chicken. I know a few other dog owners who want to try it as well, but chicken intolerance is common.Ashleyp

I am super impressed with my Purina Pro Plan dog food. It is very high quality and my dogs really love it. They appear to enjoy the taste and the nice crunchy texture. I really like the ingredients. It has everything that my dogs need for good nutrition. It looks and smells appealing. The kibble is not overly large which makes it easy for the dogs to eat.
