I am seeing reviews that have me wondering what people expect? Maybe read up on everything fully before complaining? Yes, you will still see fleas every time your dog goes outside if there are fleas out there. They will pick them up on walks and even at pet stores! They come I to your yard on other animals and on their own. Frontline is NOT a repellent. You also need to make sure you gollow the directions for application! Wait at LEAST 48hrs to apply if you have bathed tour dog as it travels via their natural skin oils and they need time to develop if they have been stripped away by soap/shampoo, as well as making sure you wait at least a week before bathing them after it is applied and make sure it is either a gentile baby shampoo or a ph balanced dog shampoo that does not have skin drying agents and says it is approved for use with flea treatment. Most good dog shampoo is these days. Dogs really shouldn't get more than one full bath (deep scrub) a month when possible. We use a natural ph balenced for dogs waterless shampoo in between baths as well as sensitive skin baby wipes if needed. If you live in areas with fleas outside (especially warmer, dry states like Oklahoma and Texas) they WILL get on your pet. However, they die after exposure to the Frontline, it usually takes about 24-48hrs to notice a difference when you first start using it if your dog is already infested. If you have a flea issue in your area then I recommend treatment of your yard as well! We had to treat our yard every summer and fall for the first 4 yrs we were here as the people next door to us have 3 dogs, chickens (in town smh) and other animals and I do not know if they use any kind of treatment and the people that lived in our house before us had 4 dogs and I do not think they used treatment at all because it was a nightmare in our backyard the first 2-3 years fighting them after we moved in. We have been here for 6yrs now and haven't had to treat our yard for the past year or two and we only have to apply Frontline every other month on our dog now. I still see a few fleas here or there once in a while at the beginning of summer (in our yard) and throughout fall usually (on our dog) if we have been out to the lake or to the park or something but that's all. That tells me that Frontline still works just fine. Anyone that has ever dealt with a true flea infestation knows the difference! They reproduce so fast that your whole house is overrun before you even realize they are a problem, literally in a month if left untreated they are everywhere, on furniture, all over your house, on you even, to the point you end up having to bug bomb your entire house (been there done that our first summer here, it was insane! I had never seen anything like it before). We have been using Frontline since on our 74lb dog(just the up to 88lb one), after extensive research on everything out there for flea control including the oral types our vet carries I still maintain that Frontline Plus is the absolute safest choice for those of us that do not like using things like pesticides/chemicals on ourselves, our yard or our pets unless absolutely necessary and prefer natural remedies when possible. Unfortunately, flea treatment is not one of those things you can go chemical free on. However this stuff is safer and harder to overdose than many of the other options and we will continue to use it!AW82

I buy this every 6 months, have been doing so for years, but the last 2 years ticks have been really bad on our property, so much so that I have purchased a haul-around sprayer and sprayed an entire acrewhere Dasher roams. Any ticks that actually bite him, they die. Fleas and ticks are now immune to Frontline Plus, and so they've come out with a new, more expensive Frontline, which the fleas and ticks have not yet built up an immunity to. It's very distressing to find 3 happy engorged ticks on your dog 24 hours after treatment following all the requirements re: proper placement location on the dog, shaved the hair to make contact only on the skin, no water on the dog for 24 hours or at all after treatment. I was frankly, pretty shocked. This is an older small dog with arthritis. He is already in some pain and to find the ticks on him on top of this frankly really upset me. And they were not dead or dying. They were about to drop off likely after laying eggs on my dog. It used to work and now it does not–at all. I will require a refund.Dog Mom245

I breed Chihuahuas and I also foster cats/kittens. My Chihuahuas are litter box trained so they rarely get fleas because they dont spend a whole lot of time outside. Even when we go for walks, theyre in a dog stroller lol. Anyways… I fostered a litter of kittens that were found outside and covered in fleas. I gave them all dawn baths because they were too small for any flea medicine and my Chihuahuas ended up with fleas. I needed a product that was safe for pregnant/ nursing mama which frontline is. All my fellow breeders that I know also use this product on their dogs. Once I treated my dogs, I havent seen any fleas since!kala

I have extensive experience with Frontline Plus in the tubes for dogs and cats, as well as the spray in use for cats and ferrets. The product works better than advertised for flease (up to three months) for indoor pets and those with limited contact with the outdoors. For strictly outdoor animals, an owner can expect up to 45 days of flea and tick control in mountain, midwest, and northern climates. Recently, a seller on Amazon began to offer the large dog Frontline pack with a syringe and directions for measuring out smaller doses from the large dog tubes. The idea seemed to be to use the large dog pack in measured doses on small dogs and cats to save money, instead of purchasing the individual small dog and cat frontline tubes. The seller asserted that the active chemical in dog and cat Frontline was the same, and, after researching the products, I came to a like conclusion. So, my family took the seller's idea and went further. We pooled our money from a few households. We purchased This six (6) pack of large dog Frontline Plus. We found 1 mm. syringes and 10 mm. capped storage vials also on Amazon. The small dog will receive 0.67 ml. of Frontline monthly. The eleven (11) cats will receive 0.5 ml. monthly. The six (6) ferrets will receive 0.25 ml. monthly. For a total investment for the Frontline Plus, equipment, and shipping, we will provide flea and tick control for eighteen (18) animals from March 2013 through November 2013 for $80.00 (without extending the Frontline passed the thirty (30) day suggested use period for each dose). The only notes I would add to this method of saving money is to "always" make sure that Merial, the manufacturer of Frontline Plus, keeps the strength of its chemicals in the packages the same. Also, Purchase the smaller packs, if you are not using much of the opened tube at one time. This product loses effectiveness, when stored after it has been opened and placed in the vials for over 90 to 120 days. Lastly, I have described only what my family did with this product. This stuff is amazing. We don't have a ton of money and usually buy budget brands. And that's exactly what we were doing. Our dog suffered for over a year while we tried to combat it with flea baths weekly, doubled up flea collars and the cheapest hertz flea topical gel we could find. Nothing worked. We live in an area where we have an intense flea problem because of all the indoor/outdoor pets, strays and they're all not fixed so they constantly have babies and give the fleas a way to really go crazy and set up shop in the neighborhoods. It really hurts pets like mine who have to go into our yard to go to the bathroom and go for walks, etc. So nothing worked until we used this and once we gave her a flea bath and did this she was free. I will be forever grateful to frontline. I recommend you save yourself a lot of time and effort and just go straight for frontline or the off brand version with the same ingredients. I have used Frontline Plus on my dogs for years and have never had a problem with it. I find the small pipettes very easy to use with the recommended dose already measured out. My dogs have never had any adverse reaction to this product and I have never seen a flea or tick on my dogs in the many years I have been using this product. This year my baby spent a week away, and he came back with bite marks and constantly itching. After a cutdown and a bath with pet meds shampoo and conditioner; I Called 1800-Petmeds. They overnight Frontline Gold at a very cheap price in comparison to other big name companies. Within 30minutes my baby stopped itching. From 11:40am this morning, it’s now 11:53 pm absolutely no issues of itching or whining. He’s back to his old jolly self. I'm sorry to say this. Please save your money and purchase the regular FrontLine. I did not find this formula to be any more effective or easier to use than the normal formula and if it is not opened correctly, it will spill and be wasted. I needed to use this product for some time to appreciate its abilities. My dog likes to spend time outside rolling around and doing dog things. This leads to her coming into the house, tracking dirt and the pesky fleas. We've done well to mitigate it in the past, but PetArmor helped in the process. Within a few days, we noticed that she would not be scratchy when coming back into the house, then we didn't have to treat her bedding as much. Very nice! This went on for a few weeks, and eventually, there were no signs of fleas or scratching! It's been a great summer, and we look forward to a flea-free fall. In the past, I have given my dog oral medication to prevent flea and ticks. It worked well but I was never comfortable with the fact that he had to ingest the medicine. I decided we’d use a topical solution for this summer and this is working great so far. The application was easy and the the applicator worked well. I’ve had to apply a different brand on foster puppies in the past and sometimes, the liquid would just all flow right out during the first contact, leaving no medicine for the rest of the dog’s back. It wasn’t the case with PetArmor. I had good control to dispense the product with their applicator. My dog had no discomfort whatsoever on the application sites. The product didn’t leave his coat all oily or smelly. I love that you can scan a QR code in the box and the brand will send a text 30 days later as a reminder for when the next dose is due. Their formula contains Fipronil and (S)-methoprene like most expensive well-known brands but at a more affordable cost.
