You have to put it together and it looked kinda flimsey. But it was easy to snap together and became very strong. I bought it for my Hen Turkey to nest in, and she loves it!amyj67074

Arrived quickly. Easy to set up. Very light. Some small pieces might blow away with heavy wind, like the screw covers on roof and the side panel that only holds shut with two flimsy removable tabs. I have been using these large Permate dog houses to house my Nigerian Dwarf goats for many years. They have made "affordable housing" for my goats. I will say that my bucks (boys) are much harder on the houses than the does (girls). Both genders jump on top, but the bucks crack the rain shield by jumping on top of the houses. This happens after a while, not right away. I don't blame the company that makes these because they are intended for dogs, not goats that love to climb! I do wish the tops would be stronger to prevent this problem from happening. Another area to improve design would be for the top to somehow lock on to the base. When my Great Pyrenees (GP) dog goes inside to lay down, the lid can lift/tilt off. The large size is not big enough for a GP. The price keeps going up, and I'm not pleased with having to pay more. I wait until the neighbor club coupon comes out to buy any needed replacement houses. Over the years I've bought countless Permate Large dog houses, so I know these pretty well! My Lab and Australian Shepherd love these large Petmate houses too.Farmer Johns

Looks very nice and hardy but it floods when it rains, I don't know how but the water gets inside and it is too much water. I put a crate pad inside for my outdoor cat to stay warm and went to check on my cat a few hours later after it rained, and the pad was soaking wet not to mention the house was full of water more water than what was outside . The dog house comes in two parts – top and bottom. They do not snap together; the top merely sits on the bottom. No hardware is provided to attach the two and even if there was there are no holes through which one would thread screws or bolts (or whatever) to keep the dog house together. I use these for my goats because these houses are inexpensive but the goats knowingly and regularly have fun pushing up on the exit/entrance hole to "break" the house into two pieces. Yes, I laugh at their antics but I still plan to drill holes and use nuts/bolts to keep the top and bottom together.L McGaffey

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

I just bought and The wood is warped. Not all the holes are drilled for the screws. The floor does not sit level. It is not worth the money! I had to glue the top on because the screws were not correct and all the wood broke! By better quality!Donotbuy

I got this recently on a great sale price… it was half the cost of another dog house that I bought (and returned). The one I ended up returning was designed as an actual house, but cost $100 and the plastic was very flimsy… I felt it wasn't worth the price, and my dog never liked it. I looked online and saw this "dog house" (it's really a crate, IMO); and Petco had the least expensive price, at half the retail cost. I was also able to pick it up the same day at a local store, and received a further discount for picking it up at the store. There's only 2 pieces (a top and a bottom), and the top basically just sits on the bottom, with tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. It's not the most secure, but I don't see this being blown across the yard or anything. The plastic is heavy duty and sturdy… I mean sure, if you live in a tornado or hurricane area, then of course, yes, it'll get toss across the neighborhood; but otherwise, it should stay in place. Great for when you need to leave your pet outside for a while. It's very wide, but not very long though. My dog can curl up in here and he can fit, but he can not stretch out or lay out in this… which is fine, because dogs usually like sleeping curled up and they like snug fitting enclosures to sleep in. My standard size labradoodle fits into it. He uses it to sleep in. This is not something he can stand straight up in or something he can stretch out in… but for sleeping, he loves to curl up in it. I bought it for use outside during the winter or a rainy day, to get out of the cold or rain when I have to put him outside in the yard for a while. We put it inside the house first so that he would get use to it. The one I got said it was for dogs 50-90 lbs., which is the large size. He has no problem getting in and out of this, and he likes it a lot better than the Suncast house shaped doghouse I got him (which I ended up returning). This is plastic, but it's made of heavy duty plastic and it's sturdy; there's only a top and bottom part, and basically the top part sits on the bottom part, with tabs that are supposed to hold the two pieces together. Got these doghouses as an outdoor reprieve from the elements for our 2 Huskies. They are very sturdy and made of solid hard plastic. They've managed to remain dry inside even in a couple of downpours and driving rain. The only time that wasn't the case is when I had one on an uneven patch of grass. So you definitely want to place it on a platform if there's no flat surface. Unfortunately our pups, house dogs that LOVE to go out and play, still haven't embraced the concept of having a private pad "outside." Other than that, it's easy to set up and clean. It has plenty of room for our 70 pounder and is absolutely palatial for the 45 pounder. I got the large size for both since they were so affordable – $44 bucks each! Love the color. My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. I've been super happy with this product for my pup and will most likely get a bottle to have at the barn for my horse as well.SmartPaker Carly

Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. The next morning it was itchy and irritating her and REALLY swollen. I cleaned her up, applied the Vetericyn ophthalmolic gel, and put a patch over her eye to keep her from rubbing it and repeated this 4 times that day and removed the patch that evening to let it air. By the next morning all the swelling had completely subsided and it was no longer irritating her! I snapped a pic before I cleaned it, then added a 5th dose just for good measure and 5 days later it’s completely healed without a scar to be seen! HIGHLY recommend!Ranch3r1

This product helped me when my dog had an eye wart. The vet said it did not need to be removed until it got to the point that he was scratching at it or it started to affect his vision. During the time of it growing, it started to scab and bleed at times which made me get this product. The anti microbial wash helped keep bacteria out of his eye wart and helped keep infection away. He would play with our other dog constantly and I think this is a great product to have on hand for any cuts and scrapes! It’s basically like neosporin for dogs.chelsea.s

The doggies love this food. I started buying it for my little one that had some teeth removed and he loves it. He would stay with the same dry food all day and most days never finished it. Now he eats twice a day and gain like 2 pounds becuase he properly eating now. Started giving it to my mothers dog too and she loves it. Product itself is great!! I use multiple different products on a daily basis by Freshpet for both my large dog and a little dog. Both dogs love all the products and aside from making their dog food myself Freshpet is the only food that has helped my large dog who has terrible allergies!! That being said there isn’t enough room on here for all of my suggestions/comments/questions and would love to speak with either someone in marketing or someone in charge of creating or both! I would most definitely recommend a friend to this product and I have gotten a lot of my friends to switch over to Freshpet from dull/dry nasty dry dog food. I just wish more products were available at the stores I buy from and I’m not sure if people are just finding out about this company or what is the deal but I have had to go to four stores just to get everything I needed/wanted because everywhere had one thing or nothing! I foster a lot of dogs, sometimes they come to me incredibly malnourished – to the point that they have been starved. Fresh pet is ideal nutrition for these dogs, it’s soft to eat, is great to hide medications in, extremely nutritious and gentle on their stressed digestive systems. I feed my foster who are malnourished, a small fresh pet breakfast and lunch and mix it with dry chow at night once their tummies are stronger.lucy.c

I receive the item and the box was in good condition. Upon opening the item there were 8 pieces. 4 walls, the top and 3 pieces that make up the floor. 3 of the 4 walls were split by screws that were inserted on the pre-fabricated panels. I took pieces and sent them to customer service. I believe this was done before being boxed up to ship. Although I was offered a discount for the damaged item I don't believe it would last as the floor did not attach but rested on the ledge of the sides. When my dog stepped into the dog house the first time 1 of the 3 pieces that make up the floor flipped up. It is nice looking but the wood is very cheap. I would not recommend buying.Unhappy Customer

I expected better of this outdoor doghouse, especially for the price. It is made of "fir wood" which isn't a hardwood at all. Pine would have been sturdier. Assembly was easy but the house itself flimsy, with several of the pre-fab section not even nailed or glued together, and some pieces with parts of the wood broken off. Even in the "giant" size it was barely large enough for a 90lb GSD. The feet were plastic and the floor slated wood were the elements can creep through. This house is advertised as ideal for outdoor use – but I wouldn't trust it during a New England winter. It was sent back immediately. I would NOT recommend this manufacturer for outdoor dog houses. For less money you could build a better one out of more durable wood.Razor

I just opened my Small size Precision Pet Extreme Log Cabin doghouse today to assemble. It looks like it will assemble pretty well, although one of the sides is 3/16" out of square. Because the panels are firmly glued and screwed together it will require some adjustment/trimming to assemble correctly instead of attempting to break the glue joints and true it up. Obviously a rush job by the factory in Wuhan. The roof shingles do appear to be very well sealed and bonded together, however there are a few spots on the edges of the composition shingles on the roof where bare wood can be seen at the edges, which would allow water to get into the roof frame, so those spots will have to be sealed. The three piece floor has 1/8" gaps between the slats, so if you want the animal occupying the box to be comfortable when it is cold and windy, you will have to do some modification to the floor, which I plan on doing. The statement that the box is waterproof and weather resistant is a stretch. The stain/preservative used on all of the wood surface is so thin that pouring any water at all on the wood surface disappears as the wood instantly absorbs it. I will not put the box in service until at least 2 coats of a high quality exterior grade paint/stain is applied. If you try and use this box without putting a proper preservative coat on it, you might get one year of use out of it before it rots or suffers UV damage and cracks and splits. This doghouse is being re-purposed by me to be a Barn Owl nest box; the dimensions are almost perfect and as soon as I saw it I realized that it could be used for quick installation during the brief annual window between December to January during which Barn Owls are NOT in their box. All I really have to do is put an insert into the door to reduce the opening size, add a perch/balcony outside the opening, fix the floor, and of course, properly seal the wood so that it will last more than one season. My primary reason for paying the extra money for the "EXTREME" model was the feature description that said: Its stainless steel hardware also adds to its sturdiness. THIS IS A LIE! THE HARDWARE SUPPLIED IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL, so this is my major gripe. My guess is that China figures that most Americans can't tell the difference between stainless and non-stainless steel. I'm a retired engineer, and you can almost always identify stainless/non-stainless steel by its color and appearance, although the surefire test is with a magnet. Regular steel will be strongly attracted by a magnet, if it is stainless steel, you might get a very slight attraction. This stuff is definitely normal steel with maybe a thin coat of zinc – not stainless steel. Undecided. Really, the dog is, not me. It can be a slow (or painful) process to transition a Great Dane to a new food. I would not be reviewing so soon but for the "chance to win $1000" because, right now, she has diarrhea. (YOU DON'T WANT A DANE WITH THE RUNS – is kind of a life motto) That does not mean anything is wrong with this food, though, so I will try to remember to update the star-rating later. We are very satisfied with Fromm's – we started with puppy and have graduated to adult small breed and have nothing but positive things to say. He's a short haired and his coat still feels like when he was a puppy which I solely attribute to the quality ingredients in Fromm's. Fromm's isn't the cheapest but PetFlow has great prices and ships free if we order in larger quantities so we usually just do 30lb at a time (although if PF included Fromm's in the auto ship discount program then we'd definitely do it!). On a per meal basis it's not too expensive and probably doesn't hurt that he's 14lbs and doesn't eat a ton. Also of note, my dog has never had an issue eating it after 4.5 years so he clearly still likes the taste.Hamish

We began using Fromms for large breeds dog food when we were switching from puppy food to dog food because our black lab, Kona, was having sever diarrhea every time she ate any food. We tried about a dozen other dog foods with no luck when my sister, who owns a Havenise that also experienced digestive issues recommended Fromms dog food. As soon as we switched to Fromms large breed dog food Kona's digestive issues went away. Not only did the food stop the diarrhea but Kona and Delilah, our chocolate lab, love the taste, not to mention every time we visit our vet she is amazed at how shiny our dogs coats are. One of my neighbors actually asked us if we put oil on our dogs coats because they are so shiny and beautiful. I have recommended this dog food to many dog owners who own dogs that are picker eaters or that have digestive issues and time and time again their dogs love this food and any digestive issues seem to go away. This is a very high quality American made dog food that I highly recommend. In fact I would recommend alll of the Fromms products.Dog lover

I just got my dog house all set up and wow! It’s great! While my 50lb border collie is a little hesitant of it, I think he will grow accustomed to it! Assembly was not too hard and only took about an hour and a half, I liked the slide and lock mechanics of connecting the walls. The divider wall, heater mount, and hydraulic lid are great features. It is a pretty large dog house but I have a large dog so it is needed, it gives him room to turn around and lay down however he likes. Thanks lifetime!Jordo

This dog house is actually big enough to fit both of our dogs. It took about an hour and 15 minutes for my husband to put it together. The item is super sturdy but light enough that he could carry it and reposition it without any help. The top locks down and easily opens up for us to be able to put their bed in. I love the fact that there is a place to put a space heater for the times they need to stay out for a bit. We’ve had a doghouse before and it just didn’t hold up well after being out in the weather. Lifetime makes such great products that hold up season after season and I know this will be great just like our deck box.Cj C

This dog house was sent to me by Lifetime products to review and I have nothing but good things to say. This dog house is extremely nice quality and over all easy to build. I absolutely love that the roof is an easy to open lid that can be used when you're cleaning it out or needing to check inside. It's big enough to fit my 35 lb dog's bed in there and still have room for other things. The middle panel is removable which I absolutely love. Though I believe I could've built this on my own, having another person helped the building process even easier. Some of the pieces are heavy and big so it helped having another person being able to hold the other end. With 2 people it took us about 2 hours to put it all together. Tools are a must for building, I recommend having a drill and a socket wrench. I highly recommend watching the YouTube videos, they're easy to follow along and are a great visual. Everything is labeled and organized and written down in the instructions that come with the product. The written instructions come in handy when you need to know what items to use in each step. I absolutely love the quality that Lifetime brings to all of their products and the dog house is no exception to this.Madi

I will say when I was looking for a duck house I spent countless hours looking for the perfect option. Florida weather and sun does wonders to things outside. I came across this house and it just stood out. When it arrived and I was dreading assembling because let’s be real directions suck! Their directions were actually awesome and the build was a breeze! However our poor ducks only got to enjoy this for a couple weeks before we had the worst Hurricane in history make landfall right through our backyard! Our ducks coop was destroyed when a tree landed on it. I was devastated their brand new house was all in the mangled mess. However upon inspections in the aftermath of the hurricane I would say this house was more solid than our own. It withstood a Cat 4 pushing Cat5 Hurricane with what appears as to be minimal damage. Heck the duck house roof held on better than our own house did! The duck house has a couple shingles that came off and the front porch ripped off but the outter shell held tight! 10/10 recommend this house for any outdoor need! I will however have to purchase a new one to give this home it’s full potential it originally had in our coop!Jessica

I just got this dog house and paid somebody to put it together. Only to find out that it is not extra large. I would consider it medium size. Won’t even fit my lab mix. The flooring and it is also raised and does not feel super sturdy. I would say this house in the size ‘extra large’ is for a 45 pounds and under dog. Will be returning. Very cute though.Aspensdogmom

We were looking for a dog house for our 75 lb German Shepherd & we wanted one he would continue to grow into. This fit the bill. Product arrived quickly and un damaged. Set up was painless and easy. Opening is big enough for him & plenty of room to plop down inside. In less than a year he did break one of the roof attachment rails. Working with New Age Pet wasn't a bad experience and the replacement parts arrived quickly enough. I wish the roof attachment rails were not plastic & were metal to withstand a bit more doggy & wind abuse. But other than that no complaints.CaptainCaveman78

I was looking for a dog house for my two dogs (one 50 lbs the other 60 lbs) to share. I am very happy with this dog house. It's not made out of flimsy wood like a lot of the other houses I looked at. The corrugated ecoflex material is very sturdy and this house is very simple to put together. Each piece is numbered and laying the pieces out in ascending order makes putting this house together a breeze. My dogs fit just fine inside the house and they'll be able to keep each other warm this winter. They are medium sized dogs so they're not very tall, if this house were to be purchased for a large breed the buyer MAY find this house to be too short. ex. A great dane would NOT be able to stand up and turn around in it. I've only had his house for a few weeks so I can not comment on the longevity of this product. The only downfall I've noticed so far is that it does get a little wet on the inside when it rains, I believe they make a plastic flap that can go over the door to help eliminate this problem, I just haven't looked into it yet. This was a life saver. My pug is 15 and needs help getting up and down from couch. It has 3 positions so it is not steep for an older dog to use. It is ready to use right out of the box. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is not to long and can be used in the smallest spaces. The carpet like material on the ramp, also has slip resistant material on it (like what is on the bottom of socks). The dogs love it and it does not bother their feet. When going down the ramp, they can go as slow as needed and not slide down. I highly recommend this product. It will not work with really high beds or trucks unless you add to it. But it is perfect for anything else including cars (if needed) It is very light and easy to move around. It is very sturdy and does not move when dogs are using it. Even my younger dog loves it and she is scared of everything. The first day we got it we used treats to get them to use it. I only took a few minutes and they loved it. We had foam stairs before this but my older dog was still having issues using it. Because of the material of the stairs, when going down, it would force her to go fast and slide. This does not do that and allows them to go as slow as possible (I know I repeated this but it truly makes a difference for an older or injured dog/cat.)Nic

This item is a great product for it's price. Many others like it are easily twice as much. Has 3 adjustable height settings. Great for small dogs. If you have a puppy this is a key item. Especially a mini daischund, who are probe to back problems due to jumping. A puppy learning this as the only way to get up and down from furniture, the dog would use it for life.Cami

this is the shorter length ramp. Not sure who they made it for?? Goats maybe?? because the incline is insane…. 😀 really! A dog that can climb that steep incline, and easily jump! So again, VERY POOR design and unusable. I'd guess a 67-70 degree incline – so crazy!! Don't buy this!adw899

We just received the doghouse and I have to say the assembly was extremely easy. Took me 20 min by myself (34 yr old woman). We needed a doghouse that would be a nice shelter for our dog when we are out all day (leaving him inside all day is not working). House seems well made. Flooring makes me a tad nervous about its stability (not as solid as I would like), but I think it should hold my 64 lbs growing boxer pup ok….we will see. Looks really cute and I love that it's raised so rain won't effect it. Roofing looks waterproof & should be prefect for our boy when we are gone all day. We live in San Diego so weather is mild & generally sunny but should keep him warm enough in the cool evenings with his bedding. I'll update if anything changes but we are happy so far!Christopher

Product looked great online, had all the features for our 2 small dogs (Corgi/Jack Russel mix – 20 lbs. each) to share a large size house. We also bought the insulation liner (great product as well). House was easy set-up with one screwdriver, pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly. All parts were pre-cut to the right specs, and very decent quality. The unit is very study when put together. We put one of their dog beds in for added comfort – they love it. It took less than a day before they had their sleeping and hanging out arrangements figured out, plenty of room for both. I purchased one of these after trying one of the hard plastic barn-type dog houses without success. Either my dogs didn't like the plastic, or were afraid of the smallish entry, so even though they are only 50 & 70 lbs, I went with the XL size. After getting them used to the dog house by tossing a few treats into the back of it, they seemed to not mind this one. A few days later, I heard a ruckus in the back yard, and upon investigation, I found that my dogs were fighting over who got to sit in the dog house, thus forcing me to purchase a second one just to keep them happy. I also placed an outdoor carpet square in each dog house for padding. This dog house is easy to assemble and looks nice. However, the floor pieces are not secured with screws so I can hear them rattling a little when the dogs climb in and out. Leaving the pieces as they are will allow me to turn the dog house on its side for easier access while cleaning, but I may just screw the floor pieces down anyway. Also, the packaging tends to leave the roof ridge cap vulnerable to breakage during shipping. Called the company for a free replacement and am waiting for the part to arrive.oblvios
