I have been using these collars for a few weeks now on my 75 lbs pitbull and my 20 lb chihuahua/sheltie mix and they have been awesome. I have only used the beep and vibration and have made a world of difference in my house. my pitbull would jump and paw at us for attention which was hurting us due to his size. the beep stops the behaviors immediately and rarely have had to vibrate him. my pit also was being extremely possesive of food and starting fights at meal times. the beep makes him.stop instantly and he sits down. my chihuahua mix has a problem with getting on the table and stealing food and also barking non stop. he isnt as affected by the beep as my pitbull so I tend to have to use vibrate more often with him but he is slowly getting on the table less and less. I dont know why I waited so long to try these but I guess it's because I was one of those people who said they would never use a shock collar. I'm so glad I tried these collars before making any drastic decisions due to behavioral issues. the only downside/complaint I have is the charger comes with 2 ports so you can only charge one collar and the remote at the same time. if they are being sold in a 2 pack there should be suffice chargers to charge all 3 at the same time which is why I only gave 4 stars. the collars also tend to need to be resynced but it's an easy process to do.overall I'm very happy with the collarMandy

I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. But because of the handset clip, I hesitate to do so. If this design was addressed, I would recommend it.dpcclm
My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. We have a new , very smart and very active male german sheperd puppy. The boys can be a little harder to train . I got this initially because he howled in his kennel literally all night unless somebody slept next to the kennel . I only use the vibrate function, and thats been enough to stop even his most persistent behaviors. Its seriously crazy how well this works! I wish I’d tried one in the past with our other dogs. I really liked the quality of this training system. Over all the Pro system works as described. However, the collar attached to this system is longer than needed and shortening the strap is questionable given the contact wire that runs through the strap. Also, the strap would be more beneficial to be a snap locking system rather than a buckle. I did a lot of research on ecollars before deciding to purchase this one. I got this for a dog that is a rescue who has had some major behavior issues. I use the collar for training and he is excelling at everything. The only thing I would caution would not be specific to this ecollar but to all ecollars. Watch the fit. The band stretches after it's worn a few times and needs to be tightened on the dog's neck. Be sure to start out at the lowest level and only go up in slight increments until your dog reacts to the zap. This will prevent you from using more power than needed. I’m very satisfied with the R.A.P.T. 1400, the remote is very user friendly and I’m so happy to have a back of the hand setup. Battery life on the collar itself seems to be much improved over my previous models of collar. My one and only complaint is the collar itself is already starting to separate layers, fraying at the feed point and I’ve had to trim and tape twice in less than a month of use (my other collars took years for this to happen). Finally, I found the perfect system for my needs. have two dogs on the collar for walking. I walk them in the woods and sometimes they'll run off to chase something. Literally bought this as my second attempt first was a petsafe wireless fence and it wasn’t as user friendly as this petsport with a remote. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! This really is a tremendously different product. 127 settings seemed overwhelming to me. As I use this more and more as I train my dog, I’m able to see what that really means. In the past, collars I’ve used only had a few settings, so moving up or down a notch so to say was a dramatic difference, while the dogtra allows me to fine tune the stim very minimally until I find my dogs “number” for the variety of situations. I bought the Dogtra 280C to use with my very active and agile 1 year old Toy Austrailian Sheppard for stopping unwanted behaviors like digging up my lawn and attacking the cat. The transmitter and receiver both hold charges for days, and easily sync by just holding the two units next to one another at the red dots for a second. The 1/2 mile range is more than enough to reach out and touch her for a friendly reminder to come in for supper. For one year Old English Lab. Not neutered, was getting a little defiant, and was running out into the street, and eating ALL KINDS of garbage. Was reticent to get a shock collar, I could NEVER hurt any animal, but only had to shock him ONCE in two weeks ! He is a different Dog ! As long as you follow the "Command, beep, vibrate order?" He now stops his running away, AND drops any "food" he finds usually just from the beep ! Half the time just the command works ! (Which NEVER did) He knew I was too old to catch him, so there was never any consequence to his misbehavior. We love this collar. We purchased another shock collar previously and this one is by far superior. The battery life is great and my dog responds to the beep, vibrate, and I rarely have had shock him bc the other 2 work so well. This collar has a long range and I am able to beep him when he is doing something he shouldnt outside without having to be close to him. I love that this remote locks so our little ones dont shock him. This has helped us teach him the behaviors to avoid and he has become such a better dog. We use the collar to curb excessive barking from our 65 lb German Shepherd mix. We start with vibrate as a warning and if needed go to shock. (Lowest setting works fine for us) I also tested the shock on myself and though unpleasant, was not painful. After about two or three warning vibrate to shock transitions, our dog has learned the sequence of events. Rarely do we need to go to shock anymore. The warning vibrate curbs the barking. My only complaints are that the vibrate and shock buttons are too similar and I feel the potential to accidently press them is high. Also, there is a small beep with every button press that I could do without. Long story short… If this one breaks, I'll probably reorder the exact same one.scooter5.9
This little e-collar does everything it should do, it is small enough I used it on my 10 pound poodle. She thought she was going to chase the cat and by mistake (my fault) I hit the shock button instead of vibrate, she did get a good shock as it was set on 20 but she now can be stopped from even thinking of chasing a cat or chicken. I only need the vibrate with her, and she only needed the collar for about a week she just needed to know I could reach out and touch her even at a distance. I would like to add,she knew her commands consistently on leash before the collar was used A few months latter I know have a different opinion. I cannot get it to keep a charge, five minutes tops,, I wish it had a some interior battery to change so it would charge again. My newest thought is I would not buy again. We have a Border Colley, that was a year old when we got him from a couple the that had gave up training him. He is very intelligent to intelligent for his own good, he would sneak off and bother the neighborhood and neighborhood animals. After using this collar 3 days the audio and vibrant is all needed after stocked one time. He doesn't even try to run off unless in his house collar, As soon as he feels the training collar on he turn into a different dog. We had actually talked about considering re-homeing Him ourselves this collar was going to be our last attempt to keep him. Before search for him a new suitable home with hundreds of acres rather than our small 10 acres , our closest neighbors our about 300 and 500yrds though heavy timber the collar works great at that distance have used it up to about 600-800 yrd across open field that's about as far as clear line of sight we have or need it to work for our needs works wonderful. I have had training collars that cost north of $200. This collar des more and is perfect for dog training. I can normally use only sound, sometimes vibrate and very seldom have to resort to "shock". When I have though I never have to do it again to correct that behavior problem. Only thing I noticed annoying is the firmness required on the buttons. I assume that to be a built in precaution to prevent accidentally triggering. For me it's good. Love it.fishconnect

These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

I have been using these collars for a few weeks now on my 75 lbs pitbull and my 20 lb chihuahua/sheltie mix and they have been awesome. I have only used the beep and vibration and have made a world of difference in my house. my pitbull would jump and paw at us for attention which was hurting us due to his size. the beep stops the behaviors immediately and rarely have had to vibrate him. my pit also was being extremely possesive of food and starting fights at meal times. the beep makes him.stop instantly and he sits down. my chihuahua mix has a problem with getting on the table and stealing food and also barking non stop. he isnt as affected by the beep as my pitbull so I tend to have to use vibrate more often with him but he is slowly getting on the table less and less. I dont know why I waited so long to try these but I guess it's because I was one of those people who said they would never use a shock collar. I'm so glad I tried these collars before making any drastic decisions due to behavioral issues. the only downside/complaint I have is the charger comes with 2 ports so you can only charge one collar and the remote at the same time. if they are being sold in a 2 pack there should be suffice chargers to charge all 3 at the same time which is why I only gave 4 stars. the collars also tend to need to be resynced but it's an easy process to do.overall I'm very happy with the collarMandy
This collar works great! We have a 135 pound Saint Bernard that likes to run into our pasture with the cows. It definitely has enough kick to get her attention and the collar has plenty of room. Used this item with two dogs, both strays. One vets says was probably born in wild. Both been with us about 2 years now but both run free whenever they can. Used collars without the probes fitted. worked one morning with them, Tone not bad but vibrant works a treat. Now tone works well. Both dogs now stay within bounds. Four months ago we picked up a 3 year old yellow lab at a shelter near Denver. The dog is lovable, has had some hunting experience, but was WILD when we got him. It was necessary to keep him tethered at all times, or he was GONE for 20 minutes pursuing some scent in the nearby forest (we back up to public land). I purchased this device in the hopes I could control him. To my surprise I discovered he must have had some time with a similar device. He instantly responded to the Tone/Vibration mode. When he would start to take off, one tap on that mode made him instantly come back. Only if he chased a deer on hikes did I have to "tingle" him a little. He would immediately drop the chase. I bought the sport dog 425x for my lab a few months ago & loved it but it recently fell off him while we were walking on a trail and I was never able to find it.
